CHAPTER 30: FACING CONSEQUENCES PART 1

Kai had been at this for months now from near drowning to flaying the snake to healing him just to torture him again. However none gave more pleasure than when his lord and lady came down here to enact their vengeance on Menomaru. Those were sweet moments especially when Lady Kagome used her reiki zapping the serpent with her purifying energy only to remove it from his being so she could start a whole new torture with prods and throwing darts to branding the snake with the Wests insignia. One of his own favorites happened to be the Devil's Fork. With the ends stabbed into the legs the butt end of the fork dug in and stabbed into the jaw of the one strapped to it. Never giving peace or rest until it was removed from the body.

This time round Kai chose to use ice picks. One never had enough of them and a slithering snake like Menomaru's body took each stab with a cry of pain never losing to much blood. Kai hammered another pick into Menomaru's knee yelling at him to give him the answers of how his men are getting word to him when being watched twenty-four, seven. Menomaru screamed when another pick went through the other knee cap. Blood pooled and splattered everywhere it was then Kai saw it. A yokai snake slithering along the floor in the blood soaked floor hiding in plain sight it was no wonder no one had seen how Menomaru knew his men are attempting to rescue him. The snake no bigger than a foot long has something tied along its body.

This time Menomaru hissed in the snake language informing the snake that Kai had spotted him. Being small had its advantages however Kai been at this a real long time. The snake dogged the sword meant to cut its head off however got it self trapped between the cracks in the walls and metal chains. Kai laughed. It was like the cat who chased the mouse. Stalking near, Kai waited to see what the snake would do. When it coiled ready to strike Kai believed it was going to strike when instead the little beast sprung forward coiling around Kai's neck trying to strangle the him.

It was at this Kai eyes went wide such a small thing believed it had the power to harm him. What Kai didn't know was that this snake may not take a human form it could will its size to that of an anaconda able to crush him in a matter of seconds. The need to get this beast off his neck grew as he held its jaws from biting him as its body grew wrapping around his body causing him to hit the stone floor. InuYasha hadn't seen Kai in days decided to check in on him and his prisoner.

When he climbed down the stairs walking down the halls through a few doors InuYasha heard struggling by the time he entered the main dungeon he couldn't believe what he was seeing. A huge snake wrapped around Kai's body with his hands holding onto the jaws of the snake keeping it from attacking him. With a snarl InuYasha jumped, cleaving the snakes head from its body then slices through the body freeing his friend from the serpents coiling body. Throwing the head at Menomaru, they watched as he moved his head to avoid it. InuYasha kicked the heavy chained metal chair holding Menomaru on its side causing the coward to cry out in surprise.

"Serves ya fuckin right, slithering Bastard." InuYasha yelled kicking Menomaru in the head before helping his with some towels to clean himself up with.

"Mind telling me how that thing got in here?" the hanyo questioned as he began circling around the dungeon looking and sniffing for clues.

"That snake was nothing but a foot long however it had the will to grow in size when threatened which is how you found me." InuYasha nodded he's seen stranger things and a snake growing in size was another to add to the list.

"Okay so it slithered in from cracks in the walls. No wonder Menomaru's men had been having a field day thinking they got the jump on us. Hey what's that?" In all the excitement Kai forgot about the note tied to the snakes body.

"What does it say?"

"It says that they were planning on invading the shiro in the cover of night so that they could try and get him out before Sesshomaru decides to execute him. Not a very good plan..." Kai's face contorted with disgust. "Here. Take this to your brother. He will want to read it himself and we will go from there." Inuyasha nodded, taking the note and left to find Sesshomaru.

Once Inuyasha handed him the note, Sesshomaru read it and snarled. Without looking up from the small scroll, he spoke. "Gather my soldiers, Inuyasha. We will take care of this before they can get their hands on him. To think that they would be able to sneak into my shiro!" He threw the scroll, fangs bared and growling. He turned red eyes to his brother. "No one will ever harm my family again. Not while I still draw breath and my heart still beats within my chest."

Face full of determination, Inuyasha nodded sternly. "I will gather the men and we will annihilate them." Sesshomaru hummed, agreeing before they both left his study to find their mates.
