Bloody Roar: Loud Ch. 29 (Lola the Fox)
This is Season 2 of the series. This season may focus on other Zoanthropes and characters besides Lincoln. Not only that but they are more of a filler arc (chapters that may hold little but not zero relevance on the story).
Disclaimer: Bloody Roar is owned by Hudson Soft, TLH/TC are owned by Nickelodeon Studios. This chapter is rated T and may possibly become rated M if gore, bloodshed and violence are put to extreme. Also, possible Harem/Polygamous relationship implied. That said, I don't want anyone making OTP ship wars since all ships are treated equally. Also, as per rules of AU (Alternative Universes), some events may or may not take place as such, some characters may or may not appear also (just like the Arrowverse, Marvelverse, DCU, etc… you get the point.)
That said, please enjoy. Leave a like, follow, review and good day. Shalom/Peace!
PS: This might be a short chapter considering the plot filler and this even is gonna happen the same as Lana's. And Ronnie's still living at Royal Woods but she tends to have a sleepover at the Casagrande apartment due to her school transfer. And most likely, if she sleeps at her original home… either she must have an early drive to school for it or she'll be homeschooled for that week to help in WOC related situations.
It's time to take a peek on what occurred on Lola's route.
Unlike Lana's time at school, Lola was finished on her homeschool updates which gives her ample time to prepare in an incoming pageant. It will be hosted by none other than the Transitioned Woman Dana Dufresne (do not confuse with Dana, Lori & Leni's best friend), formerly known as Donnie Dufresne before the transition. But that's not all, Jenny Burtory is also there as co-host and judge for the pageant. The panel of judges are also composed with Winston, Lola's crush, and some others.
Although Lola is confident and ready, she still feel anxious since her brother wasn't there to coach her. He and Clyde are too busy protecting Royal Woods from threats and having their own life to a point that they forgotten about her. And the idea of Lincoln no longer attending to her made her feel a little unworthy of the attention. She knew that her spoiled attitude would come biting her back, and it did. Lincoln is much more independent now thanks to enlisting to WOC. Lincoln would rather help train the Zoanthrope rather than wasting his precious time priming a spoiled brat. At least, that what she thinks.
Roxanne: Ready for this. You best be prepared since Jennifer Burtory is watching us.
Roxanne, Lola's best friend and ally against any rivals (such as Lindsey Sweetwater) was there for her.
Lola: I know, Roxanne. But I still feel a little bit nervous. What if I lose?
Roxanne: Come on, that's not the Lola I know! Cheer up a little okay!
Lola: *sigh* I'm trying to. It's just that…
Roxanne: Your brother didn't train you for this. You had to hire a coach. Is that it? Lola, I know the money on that is worth it. Just be the winner you are.
Lola: It's not just that. When it was Lincoln, it felt different. Like I could be myself towards him. If it was a stranger who's only after the pay, it felt terrible. Like I have to be… not me… or else, who would train me? I know I haven't been the best girl. I've been a spoiled brat and blackmailed people for my own gain. I guess it's been haunting me. After this pageant, I want to make it right with him. I want to tell my brother that I love him so much. And I'm so sorry and ashamed of my action. I just… wanted his support.
Roxanne: Oh… well I'm sure it's gonna be just fine. Didn't you say that your brother will always love you, no matter what? Trust me, he's probably watching you on TV since he can't join you on this auditorium. This is gonna be live for Royal Woods Channels. And besides, Meli Ramos is gonna be on the front seat. You don't want to disappoint our second best friend, would you?
Lola: Yeah. I guess you're right.
Roxanne then gave Lola a hug before she took her seat besides Meli, the shy girl that Lola befriended. They are ready to watch the performance that will be aired on Royal Woods television. Lola's goal has not diminished. She dreamed to be Miss Michigan one day and if she's ambitious enough, Miss America and Miss World/Universe that rivals other countries like Philippines, Morocco, Spain, Japan and others. Of course, the road to be thread is a difficult one. Rivals will eventually compete. In fact, Lindsey was there, giving Lola the old taunt of "being number one" in the world of pageantry. This rivalry slightly boost Lola's confidence (mostly the desire to not lose to her) and readies for the start. The auditorium was filled with various people, with some recognizable like some of the Yates family (Jancey, Belle, Beatrix), the McBride fathers (Howard & Harold), Katherine Mulligan (Yugo/Fang's GF) and Pop-Pop/Albert with Myrtle (Albert's current GF).
The contest is divided into three portions that comprise of 4-5 hours in total (with 15-30 minutes of break, giving each portion 1 hour and a few couple of minutes). The three portions are Glamour (costume for beauty), Talent (physical contest of abilities) and Q&A (for knowledge and wisdom). Lola's glamour of pink fur coat and suit rivaled Lindsey's feather attire. Her talent part is a ribbon dance combined with a few gymnastics. And for the Q&A portion, she is given a question about the current society's view of both Humans and Zoanthrope. To which, she answered gracefully and intelligently. A wise answer on helping their relations become closer and better for peace. After that while it was a standing ovation. And after the few hours of contest, the judges had finally reached a decision for the winner.
But somewhere within the area, there is a hidden malice emanating from the shadows. A group of robbers, with a greedy agenda is plotting their schemes. Then came a loud explosion. The blast is relatively small, enough to blast a locked door. Each criminals had weapons, guns armed and ready to fire in case of resistance. Jenny sensed that a few of them are Zoanthropes of unknown form but the energy within them is present nonetheless. She held her phone tight and discreetly to avoid suspicion as she pressed the call. A distress call that will alert the mercenaries of WOC and the police force. The others are forced to lay down in fear, as they are held captive by the maligned men. The ringleader has Dufresne hostage and demanded to call the pageant facilitator to transfer the prize money to the criminal's bank account, lest there will be bloodshed. Then some of the armed men are commanded outside to interfere the passage of law enforcers.
But what drew the line is when one of the criminals took Meli as his hostage and dragged her to the nearest bathroom. Talk about despicable, cowardly and disgusting. That was when Lola felt it. Genuine rage, not the rage she exploded when her desire is denied… but a justified rage when someone she held dear is in trouble. She couldn't contain it any longer. Jenny sensed power surging in her, so she decided to slowly transform into her Bat Form as she rescued Katherine so she could escape and call Yugo. She used her Sonic Screech to temporarily incapacitate the enemy in front of her. Lola slowly transformed as well, with flames erupting from both her nails and the growing tails.
Lindsey Sweetwater: Wait, is she? Lola's a…
Roxanne: Lola…
Her arms are now enveloped by brown fox fur, her ears became fox-like. Her face are marked with fox-like whiskers and a dot to her nose. One tail spouts with a fiery tip from each strand of tail fur. With adrenaline rush, she dashed towards Meli's captor. Too late to draw his gun, Lola clawed him with intense killer instincts. Even with vest, it's not impervious enough to deal with the fiery fox. The Zoanthrope criminals the attempt to threaten Lola and Jenny by pointing their gun at the elderly Myrtle and one of the judges but they are foiled. How? Albert relied on his combat prowess during his military service and wrestled one of the Zoanthrope. Despite his age, his knowledge and strength are enough to combat a Zoanthrope, let alone a novice. Then sharp Peacock feathers flew and punctured one of them directly at a bone joint to prevent any other movements. The feather blades are coming from Winston, the Peacock Zoanthrope.
Lola [Brown Fox]: Winston?
Lindsey: Him too?
Roxanne: And to think he wouldn't be any more charming.
Winston [Peacock]: I may be rich and little, but I'm not helpless. I learned a couple martial arts from my tutors and from a DreamWorks Movie.
Gunman: You annoying brats
Meli: Lola! Look Out!
One of the robbers loaded and fired the bullets but Lola swerved her fiery tail and spun it, creating a makeshift flame shield. The shield is hot enough to melt the projectiles upon contact. Winston then fanned the gust of wind at the enemy before he could reload. Another gust of wind from his tail feathers are formed, accompanied by a fireball that came from Lola's mouth.
Winston [Peacock]: Lemme guess, anime?
Lola [Brown Fox]: Saw it with Lincoln one time. Then I stopped.
Winston [Peacock]: I guess that would make us great ninjas, right?
Lola [Brown Fox]: Clydesdale is a ninja. Maybe he can teach us a few tricks.
The fireball hits the enemy and then backup arrives. Winston and Lola planned to finish this once and for all so they went full throttle. Lola engulfed herself with orange-brown, scorching aura while Winston releases all of his Peacock feathers and fired some to the enemies while the remaining acts as Lola's wings and Winston's sword. Both rushed and slashed their way through with their feather sword and blazing claw combined, making cuts and burn marks at the enemies. Meanwhile, Jenny was able to deal with the Ringleader using her Vampiric Leech to absorb her enemy's energy and lifeforce. Jenny the grabs the slightly aged Ringleader with her feet and slammed him to the ceiling and dragged him across before releasing him back to the ground, rendering the leader unconscious. Luckily there are only few of them left. The McBride used their bear powers to defend themselves (Grizzly Bear combined with Kato-style Ninjutsu from Bakuryu I and Polar Bear Style MMA). Yugo arrived with some exhaustion since he had to deal with the guards outside. Along came the police and some of WOC mercenaries to arrest the group of thugs and robbers. The WOC will deal with the Zoanthrope criminals while the police handled the Ringleader and the Human robbers. Lola and Winston then reverts back to their human form, tired. Then the judge declared the winner… to be Lola as expected but Lindsey as second place (runner-up).
Lola: Yes. I won!
Meli: Way the go, Lola!
Roxanne: As always.
Winston: Congratulations, Lola Loud.
Lindsey: Second place again! The only time I won first is when Lola didn't participate! This is disappointing!
Lola: Don't be a spoil, Lindsey. And…
Lindsey: What? Here to brag about it?
Lola: Uh… Nah. You almost beat me that time. In fact I was so nervous and lacked the confidence. You were 2 points close on beating me. That's a new record, an improvement. I won't be careless next time but yeah. You did great back there.
Lindsey: Who are you and what have you done with braggart Lola?
They laughed at this remark. It seemed Lola learned a bit of humility that time, especially at the face of adversity. Jenny the came to them and offered her congratulations to the winners. She gave them a signed copy of her latest magazine and modelling tips for pageant. Lola, Roxanne and Lindsey are aghast by the gift since a fashion model and beauty queen gave them something to treasure, something from someone they adored. But some lingering melancholy is present in Lola's demeanor. Sure she have tons of money to have as prize for her victory, complimented by Jennifer's gift but the fact that none of her family are there to support her still haunts her. Her father is busy at the restaurant, mother at the dentist, her sisters had their own life to pursue and her only brother is busy protecting Royal Woods that he may not have seen the live broadcast yet. Usually, the family supports each other and always find time to attend in each and everyone's activities. But now, they seemed to care less or more focused on their things. Was it because that the search for the runaway Lincoln caused them their precious time to a point that they had to make up for the lost? Was it because she constantly win that they foresaw it and didn't bother seeing it? Or is it because they grew tired of her antic… tired of her in general?
Roxanne: What's wrong?
Lola: You know, this could be more cheerful if my family was here. At least anyone could be fine but none of them are here.
Roxanne: I'm sure they saw you. They're probably looking at their phones or TV by now.
Lola: Still though. It's feels different if they are at that seat. At least Pop-Pop and Gran-Gran are here but they're retired. Soon they'll return and it will be a while to see them again.
Jenny: You know. I almost forgot to mention. I received full payment for the coaching lessons you had.
Lola: Wait? Payment? You didn't coached me? Why do you have it?
Jenny: Because, the coach you had was actually an associate of mine.
Lindsey: Wait! What!? Really!? Lola's been hiring a coach from a top notch supermodel? How!? And how much!?
Jenny: I offered it in cheap discount since it was a request from the Wolf Hero himself.
Lola: Lincoln!?
Jenny: Yes. He personally asked for me to not only host this contest to ensure he knows what is happening, but he asked for an expert coach under my hands to teach you for your contest.
Roxanne: See, Lola! He does care for you!
Jenny: This are his words, not mine. He said "Lola may be a bit of a bratty, spoiled girl but deep down she's just trying to control her weakness and she needed a confidence boost because that's what she is." and "I'll love her and forgave her as much because she is my dear precious little sister."
Lola: I… oh… Thank you.
Lola cried tears of joy, with mascara pouring at her cheeks. Lincoln may not been present to see her shine but her glow reached far beyond what can be seen in the auditorium or the TV. She now knew that despite her attitude, Lincoln loved and cherished her. Nothing could express how much she owed him… not just money, but the love a lone wolf could deserve.
-To Be Continued: Extra portion at the bottom-
AN: So, sorry about the delay. My mom suffered heatstroke and had to abandon my writing schedule for a bit. Good thing that she got better but now we had to ensure the room stays cool and breathable. The next few chapters will be Lisa (the last of the Loud sisters to be introduced), Sid, and some Clyde time. Oh and extra content below so check it out.
Lola's Zoanthrope form is kinda similar to a Fire Fox (like Mozilla) and a mix from Naruto's Fox form.
-Extra Content: Confession-
Event time, when Lana and Lincoln are home after Ch. 28
Lola, Roxanne, Meli and Lindsey went to the Loud residence to spend time on their victory and for the runner-up to complete a dare they had. It turns out that little Lindsey had a crush on our resident wolf hero when she found out who is behind the Wolf facade. At first she didn't like the idea of crushing on the werewolf Loud boy. Being prim and proper like Lola, she'd rather not have fur on her skin. But she kinda a dog-person and had a pet puppy. No, she's not a furry! You degenerates better stop! Have some class, darn it!
Well at least they called it "puppy love". Yey! Dog puns! Lola's rival is infatuated with the Loud boy. She was the one who gave Lincoln, Lola's secret (which will not be revealed). And as payback on finding out, Lola had Lindsey do an embarrassing thing, something she's not gonna be proud of. Dressed like a pup and confessing to her crush. When Lola and her friends went to the Loud residence, Lindsey followed them to their surprise. The excuse she gave is that her crush lives near their place. This made Lola suspicious dismissed it as Beau Yates (never knowing that it was Lincoln actually).
They reached the house, with Lincoln and Lana playing video games together (Turbo Trash Truck or something). Lincoln paused the game and welcomed the girls and that's where Lindsey stepped in.
Lindsey: Mr. Werewolf, I Love You! Please be my prince in shinning furry armor!
Red alert! Red alert! Lincoln's mind is puzzled with questions. Lola, Roxanne and Meli are baffled by this! Lola's suspicions are correct. It wasn't Beau Yates but it was Lincoln! The Wolf Brother however had mixed feelings. Especially about the puppy onesie/pajama suit. But he can't judge anyone's style of clothing.
Lincoln: I'm flattered of your infatuation. When you're older okay. If you can say that again to me when you're older, I'll return the feeling.
That statement made Lola even more confounded! Lincoln accepted the confession, well not really. He said he'll wait for her to be at the right age to accept that confession.
Lana: [looks at Lincoln, with a frown] Really?
Lola: [bewildered] Are you serious!?
Lincoln: What?
Roxanne: Guys, I think Lindsey is about to ascend La-La Land or Nirvana. She's alight in glee.
Meli: She looks so happy.
Lincoln: I can't say no or it'll hurt her feelings.
Lola: THAT'S THE POINT!
Lincoln you dense idiot.
