Peach looked at herself in the mirror, this time the reflection had her smiling from ear to ear. This was her moment. This was her wedding. Her wedding… with her one true love.
She giggled, imagining a happy life with her beloved Mario. She flashbacked to when she first met the Mario Bros, locking eyes to the man in red. She never imagined that a pudgy plumber would soon be her beloved husband… and now, here she is, about to marry him.
She had butterflies in her stomach, but she didn't care. This was her day.
"Princess, are you ready?"
"Just a sec, Toadsworth!" Peach said and then looked into the mirror, smiling. Go time. She thought and then walked out, taking Toadsworth's hand. "Let's do this."
"Your groom awaits you, your majesty." Toadsworth said as he escorted her.
"She's coming!" Isabelle said, this time having a basket full of cherry blossoms, cuing the organist who just so happened to be Arlon this time around as he started playing the song right as Peach and Toadsworth walked through the aisle. Peach would see her fiance at the end of the altar. A happy tear went down her cheek.
Peach would soon reach the end of the altar, staring at Mario in the eyes with a giggle while her bridesmaid, Erza, could hardly contain herself while the others were Reimu and Marisa as the Maid of Honor was Zelda.
Mario's best man was none other than his bro, with Akira, Sora and Luminary as the groomsmen and Happy being the ring bearer.
"Ahem." Master Hand cleared his non-existent throat. "It is amazing how we were able to clean things up in a matter of minutes." He said, looking over at the villains who were more well behaved and even Bowser was there, though he was a little melancholic. "Now then! Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the holy matrimony of Princess Peach Toadstool and Mario Mario. If there is anyone who objects, speak now or forever hold your peace."
"We do!"
"…Besides Bowser and the Koopa Troop."
Bowser, Junior and the minons slumped. "Worth a shot." Bowser grumbled.
"Now then, Princess Peach… do you take Mario to be your lawfully wedded husband until your games are over?"
Peach smiled. "I do." She then turned to Master Hand. "And we can skip the vows."
"Really? Well, that makes things a lot easier then!" Master Hand chuckled. "And do you, Mario, take Princess Peach to be your lawfully wedded wife until your games are over?"
"I-a do."
"By the power invested in me, I PRONOUNCE YOU HUSBAND AND WIFE!" He boomed, causing everyone to cover their ears. "Ahem, sorry… I got a bit excited. You may now-"
"Come here, you!" Peach said, grabbing Mario.
"Oh!" Mario exclaimed before Peach kissed him, wrapping her arms around him as he kissed her back.
"-Uh… do that." Master Hand chuckled as everyone stood up, clapping and cheering for the new couple… while Erza started crying uncontrollably as tears landed right on Happy and Reimu.
"Ah, geez!" Reimu yelped.
"Aaaand the pillow's wet… wonderful." Happy pouted.
"Behold! The new royalty of the Mushroom Kingdom! Queen Peach and King Mario!" Toadsworth declared… before he started crying as well.
"Ten hut!" Soldier exclaimed, pulling out a shotgun and started doing the ten gun salute. "Oo-rah!"
"Ah! You do NOT do that at weddings, ya moron!" Scout scolded.
"You don't? Hmph! Weddings should definitely have that kind of thing. It should be an American thing to do!" He said, causing the mercs and Tracer to facepalm.
"Hey! Is anyone gonna cut this cake?" Lucy asked as she wheeled it in.
"Oooooh!" Yuyuko drooled as did Kirby.
"Oh no!" Lucy paled as Youmu and Meta Knight had to restrain the two. "Phew…"
Later, on the dance floor…
"Ah, that's some delicious fruit punch!" Leone smiled, watching the newlyweds dance together, as did Luigi and Daisy, then Byleth and Dorothea got in on the action.
"Hey, Tatsumi!" Mine walked over. "You, me, dance floor! How about it?"
"I'm… not much of a dancer."
"Oh don't give me that, come on!" Mine said, grabbing his arm and dragging him away.
"Whoa!"
"I don't do dancing." Lysithea said, munching on some cake.
"You and me both, sister." Hilda agreed, then noticed Bea eating some cake. "Huh?"
"I'm fond of sweets. Got a problem?" Bea asked.
"No no, not at all!" Hilda said and then noticed Wii Fit Trainer having a slice. "HUH?!"
"What? I can splurge every once in a while." She said, then saw Cloud going for some punch.
"Cloud, come on!" Tifa grabbed a hold of him and dragged him away.
"Wah!" He yelped.
Akame walked over to Kurome who was sitting by herself. The Jaegers were having a fun time dancing on the dance floor with Night Raid. "Hey, you alright?"
"…No, not really." Kurome sighed. "Look at them, they're having the time of their lives. They all defected the moment that maid revealed to us that our leader died. But it's like… what do we even do? We still serve the empire… or at least, we all did…"
"You don't know where to go, do you?"
"No…" Kurome looked away. "I've lost everything… the Jaegers apologized to Night Raid and… aaagh… I'm by myself…"
Akame sat down next to her. "You have me, little sis. We don't have to fight." She said as Kurome looked at her. "You're my family, you're all I have… so it's like, do we even need to kill each other? Because… looking at it now… we don't need to."
"Akame…" Kurome teared up and quickly hugged her, burying herself into her chest and softly cried into her. Akame gently smiled, rubbing her back softly.
Later…
"Alright, is everyone ready?" Peach asked, holding the bouquet in her hands as her back was turned to them. "Here we… GO!" She yelled, tossing it behind her.
"I got it!" Leone rushed out.
"No, I got it!" Mine said as they jumped into the air, but then Zelda swiftly grabbed a hold of it and teleported up in the air.
"I have it~!" Zelda grinned, but then Lucy wrapped her whip around Zelda and yanked her. "AAAAH!" She yelled, but then Erza swiftly grabbed it.
"Got it!" Erza said… before the single women (Minus the Pokemon trainers and the Gensokyo ladies) all dog piled onto them and formed a massive fighting dust cloud.
"I am so glad I don't have to do that." Kairi said, drinking some punch while leaning her head on Sora's shoulder.
"Yup."
"Poor Aqua though…"
"OW! OW! MY HAIR!" Aqua yelled as the bouquet went flying out of the cloud and two hands grabbed a hold of it as they all turned to see Pyra and Mythra holding it together.
"It's ours!" Pyra smiled.
"Yeah!" Mythra grinned.
Rex did a spit take. "WHAAAAAAAAA?!"
"Rrrrow!" Nia teased, playfully elbowing hin. "Way to go, big guy!"
"Congratulations, mate! You got yourselves two brides!" Zeke grinned.
"Tora is happy for Rex Rex!"
"Poppi concurs!"
"W-wait a minute!" Rex blushed like crazy. "Morag, help me out here!"
Morag took a sip of her punch. "Enjoy the honeymoon."
Rex paled, turning over to Pyra and Mythra as both girls waved and winked at her. "Rrrow!" Mythra playfully said.
"…Oh dear…" Rex gulped.
"Hey, where'd Mario and Peach go?" Sora wondered.
Outside…
"Your chariot awaits!" Calyrex said as Mario and Peach hopped on and then a gap opened up.
"Next stop… Isle Delfino!" Cobalion said as they rushed into the gap.
"Don't have too much fun." Yukari said with a chuckle.
"Enjoy your honeymoon!" Gloria called out.
"Ah, there they go." Marisa said. "Our two lovely dorks riding off into the… uh… intergalactic sunset."
"Yeah… I'm happy for 'em." Reimu said and then sighed. "I need a date."
"Both of us do." Marisa chuckled as they walked off, while Bowser and the others got on their airships and flew off, the former fuming over Mario and Peach having their happily ever after and not him.
"I guess we should be going too." Akame said as they walked out with the Jaegers. "Our war with the Empire is not finished yet, but we do have a lot of new members with us."
"Hold on a second." A voice said as Sakuya walked over to them. "Perhaps I can give your emperor a little greetings. Just show me where he is and-"
"Before you do that." Run spoke up. "There's something you ought to know." He said and then whispered into her ear, her eyes widening.
Meanwhile… at Hotel Delfino…
"Ah, the honeymoon suite." Peach smiled. "It's so beautiful!"
"It sure is." Mario smiled as Peach turned to her husband.
"So… shall we then~?" Peach asked in a flirty voice.
Mario smirked. "Oh yeah!" He said as the both of them hopped into bed… and then there was a knock on the door.
"Housekeeping!"
On the other side of the door, a Pianta was at the door with cleaning supplies… and then the door slightly opened as Peach's bare arm reached over and put a "Do not disturb" sign on the handle before shutting it.
"Oh… is this the… oh silly me… did I make a wrong turn? Gah… first day on the job." She mumbled and walked away, knocking on another door. "Housekeeping!"
Meanwhile… at the Empire…
"Your Excellency!" A solider said. "We just received word that Esdeath has been killed."
"Oh no…" The Emperor quietly said. "That's too bad… I've always liked her. She was such a bright individual. We shall hold a funeral in her honor."
"Yes, your grace." He said and walked off.
"Your majesty, that was very nice of you." Honest said.
"Well, we all do what we can. If only we can get rid of Night Raid…"
"Don't worry. I'm sure we'll take good care of-" Suddenly, knives surrounded Honest. "HUH?!"
"What the?!" The Emperor wondered.
Sakuya appeared before them. "Hello there." She said and then took a good look at the Emperor. So it's true then… he's just a child. She thought.
"Who are you?!" Honest yelled.
"I am Sakuya Izayoi, an acquaintance of Night Raid… and word on the street is that you've been pulling the strings all this time. Manipulating this impressionable young boy into doing things that he hasn't realized what he was doing." She then disappeared, reappearing behind him and putting a knife over his neck.
"Hahaha! That's not true! Night Raid has been teaching you lies! They're the manipulators!" Honest said.
"Wait right here." Sakuya said, taking the Emperor's hand and disappearing.
"DON'T TAKE HIM OUTSI-"
Outside…
"Oh my gosh…" The Emperor put his hand over his mouth, seeing the horrors in his kingdom. "Slums?! Poverty?! Homelessness?! I didn't ask for this!"
"Your friend has been manipulating you, making you think that what you are doing is for the best of your kingdom… but in reality, he's been making it worse." Sakuya said. "He's been running the kingdom this whole time, while he made you believe you were responsible."
"Oh my…" The Emperor turned to Sakuya. "Take me back to Honest." He said as Sakuya nodded and took his hand.
Back inside…
Sakuya and the Emperor reappeared… the latter looking heartbroken. "Honest… you were my most trusted advisor… and you did all this behind my back?"
Honest growled. "I did what was best for the kingdom! No one would ever take a child like you seriously! You're a naive boy and no one will take this kingdom seriously, so I'm doing all the work!"
"But this is not what I wanted! We should be thriving, not suffering!"
"We will thrive and we will do everything we can to stop the suffering… even if it means gutting Night Raid and the other assassin's! They are the real enemy!"
"No… you're the real enemy here." The Emperor said. "I've been blind for so long but now I know the truth. Honest… as of today, I hereby sentence you to exile!"
"You… you fool!" Honest yelled. "This kingdom will crumble in flames if it weren't for me!"
Sakuya smirked. "But with every end comes a new beginning. In all honesty, exile is too good for you. You'll just a find a way back and destroy everything." She said. "I've a better idea." She then snapped her fingers while also covering the the Emperor's eyes.
"GYAAAAAAARRRGH!" Honest yelled as the Emperor moved Sakuya's fingers.
"Oh!" The Emperor winced. "This castle… it's wallowed in darkness for so long…"
"But you can rebuild. Start anew." She said and then touched her ear. "Bring in the demolitions." She said and then took the Emperor's arm. "Come with me." She said and disappeared… and right on cue, a gap opened up as several Bulky Bob-ombs, regular Bob-ombs, Ka-bombs, Sticky Grenades, Pipe Bombs, grenades, rocket launchers, a bunch of C4, Bullet Bills, Banzai Bills and two King Bills were all scattered about the throne room.
The pincushioned Honest slowly rose, blood dripping from his body as he looked to see what was about to unfold. "NOOOO!"
Outside, very far away from the castle…
"Wanna do the honors, lass?" Demoman asked.
"We do it together!" Haru smiled and with a nod, they both pressed the button… and watched the entire castle be enveloped in a bright light.
"Farewell… Honest." The Emperor said, watching it all disappear.
"Beautiful!" Leone grinned.
"Hang on, the shockwave's coming!" Susano'o said as the shockwave came rushing through and knocked everyone over. Once they got up, they would see that a crater was all that remained of the castle, and several buildings were also destroyed.
"I… think you were overboard." The Emperor said, sweatdropping.
"We… might have…" Haru blushed a bit.
"But never mind that." The Emperor turned to them. "Night Raid, I humbly apologize for what I have done. I had no idea I was being manipulated. Starting today… I will make things right. Night Raid is no longer an enemy to the empire." He said and then turned around. "It's going to take a while to rebuild."
"Oh, we'll help you rebuild."
"All of you?" The Emperor wondered. "But it's such a small group." He said, noting that it was Night Raid, the Jaegers, Sakuya, Haru, Demoman and Yukari.
Sakuya let out a chuckle. "Oh… we might have a few friends who could definitely help out."
The Emperor smiled. "Excellent!" He said, his eyes sparkling and then turned around. "Now then, let us rebuild!"
And thus... Odyssey is finished! Hooray! At last!
Now I could do Touhou: Bowser's Fury... but i'm gonna let that sit on the backburner for a while so I can figure it out from there. In the meantime, i'll be posting another story very soon. Like, oh, when RWBY: Bowser's Inside Story is done!
