Chapter 30 Dragon's Duel
The next day, Misty and Tracy decide to follow Ash, Alice and Brock as they are heading to Mulberry City. Alice is a little annoyed since she wants to have her alone time with Ash, but it seems impossible since they were here.
When they reach Mulberry Town, they notice some police officers are rushing around the area, and it causes confusion to the group.
"Excuse me, can you tell me what is going on here?" Ash asks Officer Jenny, who recognizes him as Ash Ketchum, the Champion of Alola and Galar. She says, "There is a Ditto that is causing havoc in this city, we are trying to capture it before it does more harm."
"A Ditto? I remember that it is a Pokemon who can change into other Pokemon like Mew, right?" Alice asks Brock, and he says, "Indeed, if it can cause them trouble, then something is really fishy about this."
Ash says, "I suggest that we all go look for the Ditto as well."
As the three of them leave, Misty turns to Tracy and she says, "Wow, Brock is not flirting with Officer Jenny...maybe he really takes it seriously after Ash gives him a scolding."
Tracy says, "Yeah, you don't see it really often. But we should help them find Ditto as well."
As they search anywhere, they manage to find Ditto, but it was able to slip away from them with the help of disguising. For example, when Ash and Pikachu find the Ditto, it changes into Rattata and then goes down the sewers, Ash says, "Wait, I don't see any Rattata here...how was it able to transform into it and get away?"
Alice and Eevee are also finding the Ditto, as they see it changing into Pidgeot and flies away from them. "What the...I don't think that is a normal Ditto..."
Brock, Misty and Tracy are doing the same thing as they miss their chances of finding the Ditto, after they gather again, Ash says, "I think that something is wrong with that Ditto...how does it able to Transform into Pokemon without seeing one in the process?"
"Maybe there is something wrong with the Ditto." Misty says, and much to their surprise, they see the Ditto just passing by and it quickly transforms into Dodrio, trying to run as fast as it can.
"There you are, you are not going to escape this time!" Just then, they see a girl standing in front of the Pokemon, besides her is a Dragonite and she says, "Dragonite, please calm down the Ditto."
The Dragon Pokemon roars and it hugs the Ditto, causing it to calm down a little. The girl takes out the Pokeball and recalls the Ditto, sighing, "It really is a bad thing to keep it outside of the Pokeball..."
"Excuse me, is that Ditto yours?" Ash asks, and the girl turns towards them and she asks, "Who are you guys?"
Before they can answer, Officer Jenny and the others come and Officer Jenny says, "Ms. Tiamat, we are sorry that we weren't able to catch that Ditto..."
"Don't worry, I already caught it and right now it is with me." The girl named Tiamat says.
After the officers leave, the girl sees Ash and says, "Now I think I know who you are. You must be Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town, am I correct?"
"That's me...but how do you know me?" Ash asks in confusion.
"My teacher, Lance, always told me about a boy who was capable of stopping evil teams." Tiamat says, "My name is Tiamat, and I am the Gym Leader of this Mulberry City."
"Wait, you are the Gym Leader?" Alice asks, and the group decides to introduce themselves. After that, they decide to go to the gym so they can talk about the stuff.
"So what is that Ditto? How is he capable of transforming into any Pokemon it wants?" Ash asks, and Tiamat says, "This Ditto was an experiment from an evil scientist, it was being injected with a serum that has a lot of Pokemon's DNA. Lance saved this Pokemon and he wanted me to take care of him...but no matter how many times I try, it refuses to listen to me and when I send it out, it always goes on a rampage."
Ash says, "Can you let Alice and I handle it? I promise that we will make sure it is fine."
Tiamat thinks for a while and she decides to let Ash and Alice handle it, but as she sends out the Pokemon, it tries to escape again, but Alice hugs Ditto tight, and Ash also hugs both Alice and Ditto so that they can transfer their auras to the Pokemon, letting him know that there is nothing to be scared of and the fact that it is safe. After a while, they manage to calm down the Ditto.
"How did you guys do that?" Tiamat says in awe, and Ash says, "We transfer a little of our Aura to show this Pokemon that there is nothing to be afraid of. That's all."
"I see." Tiamat says with a nod, "Maybe you two should bring this Ditto with you, since you two are capable of calming it down."
"Are you sure about that?" Alice asks, "I mean, you got this Pokemon from Lance and you just gave it away to us?"
"It is fine...I am sure that Lance understands it as well." Tiamat says as she hands over the Pokeball to Ash. "Now I assume that you have a Gym Battle, right?"
Ash nods and they all head to the battlefield, which is really looking like a Dragon's Field. "The battle will be a five on five, that is my rules."
"Five on five sounds really tough to me." Misty says. Tracy adds, "I wonder how Ash will battle..."
"No matter what challenges lie ahead of me, I am not going to back down." Ash says as she sends out his first Pokemon, which is a Kingdra. Ash says, "Kingdra...then I choose Lapras."
Ash sends out his first Pokemon, and it starts with the weather move: Hail, creating the snowstorm to make Ice moves Stronger. Tiamat has Kingdra uses Dragon Pulse, and it manages to hit Lapras, but not that much. Lapras goes for the Thunderbolt, and it deals a lot of damage to the Water Type Pokemon.
"Hyper Beam!" Tiamat yells, and much to her surprise, Lapras is still able to stand up and with the recharge, Kingdra is defeated by the Lapras with Sheer Cold.
Tiamat's second Pokemon is an Alolan Exeggutor, much to Ash's surprise. Tiamat says, "When I brought my Exeggcute to Alola, it evolves into an Alolan form Exeggutor, and it is going to give you a harsh lesson."
Exeggutor uses Wood Hammer, and it manages to knock out the Lapras. Ash sends out Pinsir as his next Pokemon, and Tracy and Brock have to restrain Misty from screaming at the Bug Type Pokemon.
"Use X Scissors!" Ash yells as the Bug Type attack gives Exeggutor a lot of damage.
"Exeggutor, use Dragon Hammer!" The Pokemon roars as it uses the Dragon attack to Pinsir, sending it to the wall, then it fires the Flamethrower, giving Pinsir a lot more damage than Ash thought.
"Wow, Tiamat sure is strong." Alice says, Brock says, "Professor Oak was right when he says that Tiamat doesn't hold back on battles."
Ash says, "Pinsir, if you can continue, use your Superpower Attack!" Pinsir glows white and it hits the Pokemon with a strong attack, causing it to faint.
The third Pokemon that Tiamat sends out is an Altaria, and it uses Air Cutter to hit Pinsir, Ash yells, "Jump up high and go for Brick Break!"
Pinsir nods as he jumps and lands the attack on Altaria, but it doesn't get that much damage. "Now that it is in the air, use Hyper Beam."
Ash widens his eyes as Pinsir can't dodge the attack, in the end, it faints and Ash has to recall the Pokemon.
"Jynx, I choose you!" Ash sends out the Ice Type Pokemon, and it uses Icicle Spear, but only one of it hits Altaria.
"Use Moostblast." Tiamat yells as Altaria manages to land the attack, but Jynx uses Protect before the attack hits, and then it goes for the Lovely Kiss, causing Altaria to fall asleep, and then it finishes with the Ice Beam.
"I am glad that I finally get to battle someone who isn't holding back on me." Tiamat says as she sends out her fourth Pokemon, Tyrantrum. Brock says, "A Fossil Pokemon?"
"That looks bad for an Ice Type Pokemon..." Alice mutters.
Ash decides to recall the Pokemon and sends out Mimey, much to Misty's surprise. "He is using Mimey on Gym battles?"
"Of course he is." Alice says. Mimey uses Dazzling Gleam on Tyrantrum, but it manages to dodge the attack and gives out a Rock Blast.
"That is gonna be hurt..." Alice winces a little at how Mimey is being blasted by the attack.
But Ash manages to have Mimey lands the Drain Punch and then uses Psychic, causing the Pokemon to be defeated. So Tiamat sends out her final Pokemon, which is a Dragonite, Ash also recalls Mimey and sends out his own Dragonite.
"The battle of the dragons, it sure is interesting." Tracy says.
"Ash has a Dragonite as well?" Misty asks, and Alice says, "I remember Ash told me that he found an island full of Dragonite, and he helped the Dragonair how to fly and he captures it in the end.
Tiamat's Dragonite tries to Ice Punch on Ash's, but Ash's manages to dodge at the very moment, and then it uses Dragon Pulse, which deals a lot of damage to the Dragon Type Dragonite. Tiamat's fires the Dragon Pulse, but Ash's uses Hyper Beam to block the attack, but the move causes Ash's to recharge and Tiamat's uses the chance to land the Dragon Rush.
"Dragonite, I know you can continue, use Ice Punch." Ash says, and the attack causes Tiamat's to be hit and it roars in pain. Eventually, it is defeated by the Dragon Rush from Ash's Dragonite.
"I can't believe that my dragons all lost..." Tiamat sighs, "But then again, Lance is not wrong when you are actually hard to beat. As promised, here is your badge, the Slithering Badge."
Ash takes the badge and he thanks the girl in front of him. "You are also strong as well, I am sure that Lance really has a good student like you."
"I am flattered." Tiamat says.
Alice kisses Ash after his battle instead of hugging him because of her arm, and the other three also congratulate Ash. Ash puts the fifteenth badge in the badge case and Misty says, "Looks like you have all 16 badges."
"Yeah, but I still need to go to the Viridian Gym for the exchange of my Earth Badge." Ash says, "Which means I am going to face my Uncle Giovanni for this battle."
"Isn't he the boss of Team Rocket? Are you sure you are going to battle him?" Tracy asks.
"That was not my uncle, that was a person from an evil dimension trying to conquer this world using my uncle's face." Ash says as he decides to reveal everything on their way.
Here is a new chapter, and it is hard to think of this chapter since the only Pokemon in Kanto that is Dragon Type is the Dragonite evolution line, just like how Gengar is the only Ghost Type line in Kanto as well. I hope you like this chapter and I am pretty sure that Ash will capture the rest of the Pokemon in the next chapter.
