Matt (Guest): That means that not every universe is going to get villain representation. Although….Mike does have a villain in the final line up.

I really hope I can do this fight justice. The final boss fight of this game is honestly one of the best final bosses Nintendo has ever made and probably in my top ten favorites too. But enough talk! It is time for the final boss fight to begin!

"Great Sacred Treasure activate!" Mike, Zoey and Pit all called out as they hopped into their respective cockpits. They all knew their roles: Mike handled the flight path, Zoey handled mode control and Pit was the gunner. The door opened, leading them right into the Underworld.

"The time has finally come," Palutena declared. "This is the final battle. Good luck!"

"We are SO ready for this!" Zoey declared, positive she was speaking for everyone. Sure enough, neither Mike nor Pit offered a rebuttal.

"Hope you didn't get too lonely without me," Viridi said, announcing her returned presentence.

"What are you doing here, Viridi?" Pit asked.

"One, there's no way I'd miss the battle of battles! I made popcorn and everything! And second, my son is going up against the LORD OF THE UNDERWORLD! Of course I'm gonna support him!" Viridi explained. "If Phosphora and Arlon weren't so busy, they'd be here too!"

"Hey, could I have some of that popcorn?" Palutena asked. Before she could get her answer, Hades burst out of the ground before landing in front of the Great Sacred Treasure.

"Hello again, angels!" Hades greeted as he crossed his arms.

"Hades!"

"Angels!"

"Hades!"

"Angels!"

"Hades!"

"Angels!"

"Hades!"

"Ha-CHOO!"

"...Well that ruined the mood," Mike deadpanned.

"Excuse you," Pit said, mostly just on reflex. "But anyway…" Mike then flew the Great Sacred Treasure towards Hades, who proceeded to punch it.

"Now it's REALLY on!" The combatants shouted. Neither was losing ground. "On to death/On to victory!" Finally, the Great Sacred Treasure was forced back. Mike just flew towards Hades again.

"Let me get a closer look at that shiny new toy of yours," Hades said before lashing out. Mike easily dodged, giving Pit free range to blast away.

"Lord of the Underworld, it's time for you to pay!" He declared as he unloaded everything he had into Hades.

The Lord of the Underworld laughed. "Bwahahahahaha! You can be awfully cute, Pitty. But that doesn't mean I won't squash you like a gnat!" He then attempted to land another hit, only to get his arm stuck in the ground. "Drat, my arm is stuck,"

"This is too good!" Viridi cackled. Everyone could hear the sound of popcorn crunching.

"All better!" Hades said once he got his arm free. He then summoned a whirlwind around himself. "Here you go!"

"No thank you!" Zoey immediately called out.

"Great Sacred Treasure, do your thing!" Pit said as he continued to fire the many different guns and weapons on the Great Sacred Treasure.

"Oh angels! I have something to show you!" Hades declared before turning himself into a giant tornado.

"No no no!" Mike cried as he tried to get the Great Sacred Treasure as far away as possible from the twister.

"If you get caught up in that twister, it will tear you apart!" Palutena warned. Thankfully, the twister went away soon after, only for Hades to lunge forward.

"Playing hard to get, are you?" He asked, only to suddenly rush forward towards the Great Sacred Treasure. "Good thing I've been training!"

"Can't this thing go any faster!?" Mike snapped as he flew away as fast as possible, with Pit still blasting away.

"It's kind of like watching an elephant sprint," Viridi snarked. Suddenly, Hades stopped.

"Ow!" He yelled out, clutching his foot.

"Did we beat him?" Pit asked as Mike nervously moved them closer. Pit kept shooting. Better safe then sorry, after all.

"No, I'm fine. But I could've sprained my ankle, you know!" Hades said before leaping to the air. "Good thing…." He then attempted to step on the Great Sacred Treasure. Mike narrowly dodged out of the way. "I DIDN'T!"

"What's the matter, Hades? You had enough?" Pit mockingly asked.

"Oh, no! I'm just getting started!" Hades replied before leaping into the air again, this time out of sight. "Let's see if you can keep up!"

"Oh, we can!" Zoey declared as the Great Sacred Treasure began to change forms. "Engaging pursuit mode!" The Great Sacred Treasure then flew off towards a portal.

"Why, I thought I'd left you all behind!" Hades exclaimed as the Great Sacred Treasure rode up next to him.

"Like Zoey said, you can't run from us! Not when we've got the Great Sacred Treasure!" Pit declared.

"What, you mean you can't keep up with me on your own?" Hades asked. Pit answered by continuing to blast away.

"You know, it wasn't cool that you ran away. This is THE final battle!" Mike pointed out.

"Oh, I was just going to make a quick stop to decimate a country or two," Hades dismissively replied.

"In the middle of battle? Why would you do that?" Pit questioned.

"Probably so he could fuel up on souls," Viridi answered for the mad god.

"Yes, I was hoping to greet Pitty on top of a mountain of corpses. But I didn't even get a pile started with him hot on my heels. What a killjoy," Hades groaned.

"Your hunger for destruction is as boundless as it is callous, Hades," Palutena declared. She knew that everyone already knew that, but it felt good saying it, even if she knew Hades didn't care.

"Plus, a 'mountain of corpses'? Seriously?" Pit questioned.

"Yeah, seriously gross," Zoey groaned.

"Hey, what are those?" Mike asked. Everyone looked to see what looked like faces appearing on Hades's back. They began to fire bullets at the Great Sacred Treasure. "Are those...face guns?"

"Not just any face. Hades's face," Palutena said.

"I want you to remember every detail of this lovely visage. After all, it's the last face you'll ever see!" Hades declared. In spite of his boasting, Pit was able to destroy all the face guns.

"Keep it up!" Mike ordered. Hades suddenly turned around.

"Ugh! Now, that was VERY naughty of you!" Hades snapped as he fired off a series of dark arrows.

"Hang on!" Mike called out as he tried to dodge, but there were too many, leading to him getting them caught in an explosion.

"The Great Sacred Treasure is falling apart!" Pit cried.

"No, it's...it's changing shape again!" Palutena realized as the Great Sacred Treasure escaped harm.

"Mech Armor mode engaged!" Zoey announced before squeeing. "This thing is so awesome."

"You're starting to get on my nerves," Hades said. His smile never left his face, but everyone could tell he was getting pissed.

"GOOD!" Everyone declared. Hades spawned several more weapons all over his body.

"He's covered from head to toe in weaponry. Like a rainbow apocalypse," Viridi noted.

"I prefer to think of it as my devastation ensemble. I only wear it for very special occasions. You know, weddings, armageddons…" Hades corrected. This one was the hardest so far, as there was a lot coming at them, but the pilots of the Great Sacred Treasure prevailed. Hades then grabbed them. "Come here!"

"Crap crap crap!" Mike exclaimed as he started trying to pull away. But Hades's grip was too strong.

"Plucked at the peak of ripeness!" He declared with a laugh as a drill appeared out of his body. "Now I'll just drill through the rind and outer blue and red layers to remove the Pit!"

"Hiya!" Zoey called out as she split the top half of the Great Sacred Treasure from the bottom.

"Now what?!" Hades demanded.

"Take this!" Pit roared as he used a light sword to slice Hades's in half.

"Ooooooooh ow!" Hades groaned.

"You're not HALF the villain you thought you were!" Pit mocked. He decided to ignore Viridi booing him.

"That's what YOU think! Ha ha ha ha!" Hades laughed as he continued through the portal.

"HOW is he still alive!?" Mike exclaimed.

"Looks like we need to keep hitting him!" Zoey declared as she had the Great Sacred Treasure change form again. "Engaging ultralight mode!"

"Where'd he go?!" Pit frantically asked.

"Up. He's aboveground!" Palutena revealed. They had to hurry.

"Behind you!" Viridi warned. Hades was floating behind them.

"Still stalking me, I see," Hades said before summoning a new pair of legs. "There. That's better."

"WHAT THE—?!" Hades didn't give them a chance to gather their thoughts before going on the attack.

"You've got incoming fire! Take out those blue shots!" Palutena warned.

"But those purple shots will hurt you, so DON'T shoot those!" Viridi chimed in.

"You can't get through this by shooting wildly," Palutena explained.

"Focus on which shots to attack!" Viridi finally barked out. In spite of Hades's best attempts, he still failed to blast the Great Sacred Treasure to the ground.

"This is ever so tiresome," Hades groaned.

"Then let's wrap it up!" Mike declared as he charged forwards, only for Hades to teleport away. "Wait—huh?"

"BOOM!" Hades had smashed the Great Sacred Treasure between his hands.

"Oh no!" Palutena cried as Pit, Zoey and Mike fell towards the ground.

"Wa ha ha ha. Looks like your little toy isn't so GREAT after all!" Hades mocked. Pit was the first to hit the ground, followed by Mike and then Zoey.

"Owwwwww…." Zoey groaned as she forced herself up. Mike's mask had broken in two, now looped over his shoulders by the strap. Pit clutched his arm. They all found themselves staring up at Hades, who was smugly looking over them.

"Since you've been such a great adversary, I've saved my deadliest attack just for you!" Hades declared as he began to charge up an attack. "I do hope you enjoy it!" The three huddled together. Was this it?

"I feel an outside force—a godlike force—gathering power. But is it friend or foe... It seems to be...seeking Hades!" Palutena revealed. "I'll try to guide them to him!" Every second seemed to pass slower then the last. Zoey wanted to close her eyes, but kept them open as Mike and Pit wrapped their arms around her. Suddenly, Medusa appeared and destroyed Hades's head, costing her her arm in the process.

"HUH!?" Pit, Zoey, and Mike's all went wide.

"Medusa?!" Viridi and Palutena exclaimed.

"But we defeated you! Why are you helping us?!" Palutena questioned.

"Hades keeps reviving me, but I won't play the puppet anymore!" Medusa declared as she attempted another punch, only for Hades to catch her arm and destroy it. "No! How dare you?!"

"I am your master, Medusa, and I will revive you as many times as I desire!" Hades declared as he created a new head for himself. "Gwaaaah! But you've worn out your usefulness!" He then killed her for the final time.

"How could you do that?" Zoey asked, knowing she would get no answer.

"It doesn't matter," Mike said as he set the remains of his mask aside. It was the first time he had ever gone into battle without it in years. "We need to end this here and NOW!"

"We still have this!" Pit said as he grabbed the cannon from the Great Sacred Treasure.

"You look like you need help, Pit. Activating the power of flight!" Viridi declared. Pit's wings began to glow as he shot into the air, with Mike and Zoey hot on his tail.

"Thanks Viridi!" Pit called out.

"Don't thank me yet. Get your heads back in the game! Let's finish this once and for all!" Viridi said as Mike and Zoey grabbed parts of the cannon. They were level with Hades's face.

"OK, I've got a plan. It'll take some time to pull it off, so just tough it out for a little longer. I'm using my powers to charge up the gun of the Great Sacred Treasure. Once it's fully charged, let loose!" Palutena explained.

"What pests you are!" Hades snapped as he began to fire lasers at the biggest thorns in his side.

"We fight for all creatures living and breathing!" Zoey began.

"We fight for all departed souls still hanging in limbo!" Mike chimed in.

"But most of all, we fight for Lady Palutena, the goddess of light and Viridi, the goddess of nature!" Pit finished.

"And it's in all their names that we will crush you, lord of the Underworld! We won't let you desecrate another soul!" All three declared at the same time.

"NOW! FIRE!" Viridi called out.

"Take….THIS!" All three called out as they blasted the Lord of the Underworld with the cannon.

"It's hard to believe... but, you actually got me. The nerve of you all," Hades almost sounded proud as he disintegrated into nothingness. Mike, Zoey and Pit dropped the cannon. They were all panting. Then, they raised their fists into the air.

"Victory!" They all declared. Mike flew down to grab the broken remains of his mask as the people in the nearby town began to cheer.

"Listen to those cheers!" Zoey cried, her eyes filled with tears.

"We did it! We saved every living thing! Everywhere!" Pit did a backflip in the air as he flew upwards, followed by Zoey and then Mike.

"I hate to rain on your parade, but I think we have another issue to worry about," Viridi pointed out.

"Mom, I swear, if you say humans…" Mike threatened.

Viridi scoffed. "I told you, I've changed! But I was actually talking about where you and Zoey came from? I mean, I'm not complaining, but who sent you here? And why?"

"We probably should look into that," Zoey admitted. "But right now, I wanna just enjoy my victory flight!"

"Ugh, fine!" Viridi snapped. "I guess you guys deserve it."

"I think they deserve a little more time then just that," Palutena chimed in. "After all, I think we all need a vacation after this."

"No kidding," Dark Pit snarked as he and Dark Zoey flew over to join their light counterparts.

"Ya know, you guys would have been more helpful about ten minutes ago!" Mike joked. Everyone laughed, even the clones.

"GOD DAMN IT!" The hooded man smashed the monitor. Out of everyone, why did he have to survive!?

"Calm down," His partner snapped at him. "I thought you wanted to kill Mike yourself? After making him suffer?"

The hooded man smiled. "You're right. I do. But if he was offered before I put my plan into action, I wouldn't be complaining. Gotta be willing to make sacrifices, you know?"

"Of course I know that…" His partner smiled before continuing. "Mal,"

He loved the way she said his name. "Good Scarlett. Good."

BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING! But yeah, I have formally revealed the main villains of the story, namely, Mal and Scarlett. I will go more into more detail on exactly what happened in future stories. But next time, we have the bonus chapter and then we head to sunny Alola to check up on Emma and Kitty! See you then.
