Chapter 30 Venesi City Exploration

Back in the Pokemon Center, Aurora and Rosalind share a sisterly hug and Rosalind says, "It is so great to see you again, Aurora."

"You too, Rosalind. How are you doing?" Aurora says with a smile.

"Great, the visitors of the opera house aren't decreasing. We have been tired but satisfied." Rosalind says, "And how are you and Sheldon doing?"

"We're doing great, though we are still trying to find our mother, though." Aurora sighs.

"Oh yeah...your mother went missing after the Nuclear Explosion...I am sorry to hear that." Rosalind says.

Ash asks Aurora, "So Sister Aurora, you know Rosalind?"

"Of course, we have been best friends." Aurora says. "It is because of mother that the Venesi Opera House opens for females to act inside. We were actually there when we see Rosalind revealing her gender."

"Really? Did you suffer from the whole audience with old traditional views?" Serena asks.

Rosalind says, "At first a lot of them can't accept the truth. Just like Jean Valjean in the story known as Les Miserables: He was a criminal who has become a mayor when he was revealed to be a former criminal, some people like Javert in the story would try to bring him to justice without asking for what he has done during his time as a mayor."

"I see." Ash says. "And let me guess, Mother is the one that saved you?"

Sheldon says, "I still remember how your mother gave a speech in front of the crowd in the same opera house to shame on those people who are in old traditional ways. And with the other people rising, there is no way they would be able to hold their old traditions."

Rosalind says to Aurora, "Though you didn't tell me that you have a brother like Ash, from that battle we had, I can tell he is really talented."

"Of course he is. Not to mention that he is also partaking in the Contests." Aurora says.

Rosalind says, "So a battler and a coordinator. I would like to see how you do in the contest."

Ash says, "Of course, I will definitely win this contest and get my fourth ribbon as well."

As they go to the Contest Hall, they find out that this is a Single Battle format, so Ash decides to use Glaceon for the performance. Glaceon creates the snowfield with the move hail, and with the swift dance movements, the audience is in awe at the sight of a small child building a snowman, into a ballerina that is dancing around. The crowd gives him a high score in the end.

Serena says, "That's so beautiful...I never know that you can do that with Glaceon..."

Aurora says, "Well, I taught him about this trick, as you can see, it works really well with Ice Type Pokemon."

Rosalind says, "Even though a lot of people might not notice, but a performance shows how a trainer grows. When I see Ash's performance, all I can see is that how he dreams of playing with Pokemon, into trying to achieve to be something greater."

"Really? You can see that?" Serena asks in shock at the gym leader.

Aurora says, "Rosalind has been in years of acting, so she learns a lot."

In the battle round, Ash is using Espeon this time, with the Psychic moves, it toys at the opponent with trickery and beauty, it causes him to win the fourth ribbon in the end. Sheldon says, "And I can tell that Ash is also a quick learner, that move was how Rosalind did in the gym."

"I can tell." Rosalind says, "I was afraid of somebody can't duplicate it, but I am relieved once I see Ash did it."

"Why are you afraid? Most people will not like people stealing their moves." Serena asks.

"I am not that narrow-minded. To me, sharing is caring. It means that somebody cares for my moves and it can be passed to other people." Rosalind says.

After the contest is over, Ash is suddenly surrounded by fans who like Eevee. They learned that there is a place called the House of Eevee and a lot of fans of Eeveelutions will gather there to share everything about their Eeveelutions.

When they are there, they share some of the stories, they hear a boy talking about how he saved Eevee from a hunter and how he evolves it into an Espeon, and a girl is saying how her Eevee likes to mimic everyone as it wins a lot of mimicking contests. As for Serena's turn, she reveals how her Sylveon was a shy Eevee who likes to dance, and at the time when Ash mentioned how they attended the dance ball and that's when Eevee evolves into a Sylveon, they all squeal in joy.

After leaving the place, they also go to the bar, as they see a man saying, "I saw it! Why won't anyone believe me?"

As the group approaches the drunken man, he says, "Listen, kids, you seem like the type to believe a crazy story. So I was walking the pier late last night, and I'll be honest with you, I'd already had a few. When suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I saw something moving. Heard it rustling and all that. Then I hear the sound of little feet, like it's running away. So of course I had to chase it. All of a sudden I'm in a dark alley I ain't never seen before. But there's no sign of the thing! And then I hear a growl behind me. It was a feral Tanscure, and I swear it on my life, that thing was THIS big!"

As he is saying, Serena whispers, "He seems to be really drunk...there is no Tanscure that big..."

"I don't know, but let's be patient here." Ash says back.

"I thought for sure I was a goner, when this...big pink thing...with wings and horns and bunny ears and webbed feet like a Golduck appears out of nowhere and kicks the mongrel so hard it runs away whimpering! Then the thing turns to me. And I'll be honest to Arceus, it was dark and I wasn't seeing straight but that thing, it opens its mouth, and it says to me, it says, "Jim, you're drunk." And the next thing I remember, I was waking up in my own bed."

"So all you are telling is just a dream." Ash says.

"But it wasn't a dream! It was too real! I just wish I knew what that thing was..." Jim yells. "Can you help me? Do you know what it was?"

Ash says, "Are you meaning this Pokemon?"

As Ash sends out Jackdeary, he says, "That's it! That's the pink thingy! I knew I wasn't crazy! Oh, sweet Arceus, the relief I'm feeling right now is amazing. I gotta repay you somehow..."

Then he orders two glasses of Carrot Wine for Ash and Serena, since they are 18 years old, they can drink it without any problem. But Jackdeary gets Ash's glass and it starts to evolve into a Winotinger.

"That's how it evolves?" Ash is surprised as Serena says, "This Carrot Wine sure is something..."

Winotinger: The Chimerical Pokémon: Fairy and Fighting Type. Evolved from Jackdeary when drinking Carrot Wine. It combines illusion and trickery with physical strength. Because it can only be seen by drunk people, it was considered an imaginary Pokémon until very recently.

After finishing their glass, they decide to leave the drunk man alone. Aurora asks, "So Ash, do you think of what gym you are going to next?"

"I am not sure about that..." Ash says.

Rosalind says, "Then I can tell you that to the east, there is Tsukinami Village, but I don't know if they'll let you enter...they only allow in those that have proven themselves."

Sheldon says, "We'd better go north to Snowbank Town. We have to go through Masaka Cave to start our journey there. It's fairly a long way up so we need to pack more of our supplies."

"Snowbank? Judging by the name Snow, it is going to be an Ice Type..." Ash sighs.

"Why are you so sure about that?" Serena asks, and Ash says, "Snowpoint City, Snowbelle City. They are Ice Type Gyms."

"Oh, I never realize that." Serena says.

After bidding farewell to Rosalind, they are now back at Route 13 as they see Theo waiting for them. Theo says, "It's you, Ash! I'm training to challenge the Venesi Gym, which I guess you already beat."

"Yeah." Ash says. "What about you?"

"A little while ago, I'd have gotten upset and crying about that. But...I guess other stuff put that sorta thing in perspective. So right now, I'm just trying to make myself the best trainer I can be. But first, do you want to battle?"

"Sure." Ash says as they have a battle. Theo is basically using the same Pokemon, so Ash beats him in no time. Theo says, "Winning makes me strong...but losing makes me strong, too. Once I'm strong enough, I-I'll come to find you, Dad! I know you will just not die like that."

Ash smiles, "That's the spirit, Theo."

Theo says, "By the way, Professor Bamb'o asked me to tell you to head north, through that cave over there. I'll catch up with you later!"

After bidding farewell to Theo, they find the cave and Serena says, "So we are just going to enter this cave and we'll get to the next town?"

"Maybe." Ash says.

Back in Kanto, a man with a Persian just ended the call as he finishes preparing his grunts. His assistant says, "Sir, everyone is ready."

The man reveals to be Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, says, "Good, now tell them to arrive at Sailport Town in the Tandor Region, our ally Professor Larkspur will be waiting for us."

"Okay, sir." The assistant, which turns out to be Matori, walks away. Giovanni strokes Persian's fur and he says, "Ash Ketchum and Aurora Ketchum. It is time to settle the score once and for all. You have been messing up with our plans, and this time, you are not going to get out alive."

Then he gives an evil laugh as the grunts are flying their planes towards the Torren Region, trying to get rid of Ash and Aurora once and for all.

Here is a new chapter, and uh oh, Team Rocket is going to do something greater in the Tandor Region, and not only that, but the boss Giovanni is also heading there as they are going to defeat Ash and Aurora. If you don't know how Giovanni knows Aurora, I have already started it in the first chapters, about how he tries to put her hostage to threaten their parents, and how Team Rocket is the reason why Ash has to be separated from his father and sister. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will be calm before the storm.
