Chapter 30

Sarah was walking along the pathway of her school yard with a few of her classmates and friends, ready to go home when she saw Halley waving at her. Sarah waved back and told her friends to go right ahead before walking towards Halley.

"Hey Halley, aren't you going home yet?" asked Sarah.

"No, I wanted to ask you something." Halley said.

"About what?" said Sarah.

Halley gave her a straight look. "Is it true? You know, about Will and Erin?"

Sarah gave her a weak smile and slightly hesitated. "Hal, I don't know how to say this..."

"So it is true huh?" Halley said, cutting her off.

"Halley, I'm sorry if I didn't tell you. I mean I wanted to, but honestly, it's none of my business who my brother sees or have friends with." Sarah said.

"I know, and you don't have to apologize." Halley said. "It's my fault in the first place."

"Come on Hal, please don't say that." Sarah said, touching her hand.

"Well it is. If I didn't get jealous of the Erin then William and I would still be together." said Halley while wiping her tears.

"Hal...what do you want me to do? It's not like I could tell them to break up or something?" said Sarah

"No...it just proves my point from the beginning." said Halley, surprising Sarah.

"Isn't that a little unfair?" Sarah said, not liking Halley's tone.

"Is it!?" said Halley.

Sarah folded her arms. "Yeah it is! You're the one who dumped my brother, remember?" she said.

"Now you're taking their side?" said Halley.

"Of course I'm gonna take his side! He's my brother!" said Sarah. "Even if he's always ratting me out, I still have his back!"

"I thought we were sisters." Halley said.

"We are Halley. And right now, you're being unreasonable!" Sarah said, not backing down.

Halley took a deep breath and looked her in the eye. "Fine! Stay away from me!" she said as she turned around and walked away.

Sarah was surprised but didn't backed down. "Fine! If that's what you want, then stay away from me too!" she yelled, channeling the 'sass' that she got from her mother.

Meanwhile, at the Caltech cafeteria, Leonard was eating lunch with Sheldon and Raj when Howard came over, joining them on the table.

"So Leonard, is it true?" Howard said.

Leonard wasn't really paying attention and decided to just play along. "Yes Howard." he said before looking at him. "Wait, what was that again?"

Howard sighed. "I'm asking you if it's true about William and his neighbor in New Jersey, Erin."

Leonard looked back at his food. "Halley found out huh?"

"Yeah, she asked your daughter about it." said Howard. "I guess that just proves her point all along huh?" he added, trying to get a rise out of Leonard.

Leonard didn't like Howard's tone. "Hey, your daughter dumped my son. Don't forget that. And him and Erin were just neighbors back then when your daughter got jealous of her for no particular reason!"

Raj decided to chime in. "Uh, do you want me and Sheldon to leave and give you guys some space?" he asked Leonard.

"No." said Leonard.

Raj sighed with relief. "Good, because I wasn't planning on leaving in the first place."

"Me too!" said Sheldon as he took a bite of his food while looking at Howard and Leonard.

Leonard took a deep breath and looked at Howard. "Look Howard, I know you think that William cheated on Halley but trust me he didn't. Because if he did, Penny and I are going to be all over him right now."

"You're just defending him because he's your son." Howard said, leaning back on his chair.

"Of course I'm gonna defend him, he's my son! Like how you're defending your daughter right now!" Leonard snapped back.

Howard scoffed and looked at Sheldon and Raj. "Can you believe this guy!?" he said, pointing at Leonard.

Leonard finally lost his patience and stood up. "Well believe it Howard!" he said, taking his food tray and walking away while a few people looked at them, surprised and curious at the slight confrontation between them.

Meanwhile at the Hofstadter home, Penny was watching TV when she heard her phone ring.

P: "Hi Bernie! What's up?"

B: "Is it true Penny?"

P: "What?"

B: "Is it true about William and that neighbor of his."

P: "Uh, yeah. And I know where you're going with this Bernie."

B: "You do huh? I guess the apple didn't really fell far from the tree huh?"

P: "Is this where you really want to take this Bernie? Did you forget who dumped my son? Oh now I remember...it was Halley!"

B: "Yeah because he was cheating on her!"

P: "My son never cheated on her, Bernadette! You and I both know that! But if that's what you want to believe, then do what you want!"

P: "And for your information, if my son was cheating on any girl, Leonard and I would be all over his ass right now!"

Bernadette didn't say anything and just hung up the phone, making Penny grunt with frustration.

Later that night, Sarah was watching TV in the living room with her parents when she decided to call her brother on Skype.

"Who are you calling honey?" Leonard asked.

"William." said Sarah as she put her phone on the coffee table to get them into focus. After a few rings, William answered the call.

Wi: "Hey guys! What's up?"

Sa: "I hope you're happy now!"

Wi: "I am happy...wait, what are you talking about again?"

Sa: "Well, just to let you know, Halley hates me now."

Wi: "Why?"

Sa: "She knows you jackass!"

Wi: "Oh? Sorry about that."

L: "Yeah, Howard kinda laid it on me too while we're at lunch in the cafeteria."

P: "Bernie did the same thing when she called me."

Wi: "What!? Why would they do that?"

Sa: "Well, Halley said that you just proved her point."

L: "Don't worry son, I didn't give Howard the satisfaction."

P: "Me too. I mean whatever happens, you're still my baby boy."

Sa: "Same here. I kinda yelled at her to stay away from me."

Wi: "Oh my god, I'm so sorry. Don't worry, I'm gonna call Halley and straighten things out with her."

P: "Don't do that sweetheart. You've done nothing wrong, do you hear me?"

Wi: "But mom?"

L: "Your mother is right son. You've done nothing wrong. If Halley can't handle moving on, then it's her problem, not yours. And besides, it wouldn't be fair to Erin if you call Halley."

Sa: "I'm with dad on this one. If they want to fight, then we'll fight them off, with dad as our human shield." she said making her parents laugh.

L: "Okay young lady, it won't come to that. Just don't worry about us, we're all okay here. We got your back!"

Sa: "Hey, that's my line!"

Leonard pulled Sarah and kissed her on the cheek. "I know."

Wi: "Thanks guys. I owe you one."

P: "Hey, you don't owe us anything. You're my baby boy and if we're on a sinking boat, I'll save you first!"

Sa: "What about me?"

P: "You'll be the last!" said Penny, making Leonard and William laugh.

Sa: "That's not funny mom."

L: "Don't worry honey, I'll give you my life jacket if it comes to that."

Sarah hugged her father. "I love you dad." she said, snuggling under Leonard's arm.

"Ugh, I'm never gonna get tired of this." he said, hugging his daughter tight while looking at Penny.

P: "Okay sweetheart, we're gonna go now."

Wi: "Okay mom. Bye!"

L: "Bye son."

Sa: "Bye! Say hello to Erin from us!"

Wi: "Yeah sure!" he said before ending the call.

Meanwhile in William's apartment...

Erin came through the door with the takeout food for them. "I came as fast as I could." she said while placing the food on the coffee table.

"Wow, smells good!" said William while unpacking the food on the table. "Sarah just called me on Skype."

"Really? So what's up with her?" asked Erin.

"Well, she kinda had a fight with Halley." William said.

Erin paused and looked at him. "Let me guess, she knows about us huh?"

"Yeah, and she kinda laid it on my sister for taking my side." said William.

Erin was surprised. "And whose side was she supposed to take anyway?" she said.

"I know. I told them that I'm gonna call Halley and confront her about it but my mom told me not to bother anymore. She told me it wouldn't be fair to you." said William.

"I can call her if you want?" Erin said, surprising William.

"Absolutely not!" he said.

"Why not? Do you think I'm scared of her?" Erin said.

"It's not that. I just don't want my girlfriend and my ex talking to each other!" said William.

"Why, are you afraid she's gonna spill some of your dirty little secrets?" Erin said, teasing him.

"Of course not! Just promise me you won't call her." William said.

Erin smiled and picked up a dumpling, feeding it to William using her fingers. "Relax babe, I was just teasing you." she said.

William smiled while chewing. "Hmm, looks like we're gonna have some dessert later huh!?"

"Don't bet on it mister!" Erin said, shoving a plate on his hands while forking some food on it. "Stay still if you don't want food on your lap."

William smiled while locking at her. "Well, if you spill some food on my lap then you're gonna have to take my pants off, right?"

Without warning, Erin poured a little bit of food on his shirt, catching him by surprise. "You're an idiot!"

"Hey! That's not nice!" William exclaimed. "That was a clean shirt!" he said standing up, cleaning up his shirt with a tissue,

"Well now you have to take it off!" Erin absently said while eating her food.

William quickly took off his shirt and ate his food, glancing at Erin from time to time. Erin tried to hide her amusement and didn't give William any hint of her getting excited at seeing her boyfriend shirtless. They ate quietly, sharing their food with each other until William spoke. "You're handling this quite well huh?"

"What are you talking about?" Erin said innocently.

"This!" he said, pointing at himself.

"Oh you think I'm distracted with you sitting there half-naked?" Erin said, raising her eyebrows at him.

"Well, if you were sitting beside me half-naked then I certainly won't be able to control myself!" William said.

Erin bit her lip and suddenly took off her t-shirt, surprising her boyfriend. "How about now?" she said, teasing him.

William shrugged his shoulder and tried to play it cool. "We're not really the same because you still have your bra on." he said, hoping his girlfriend would play along.

Erin moved up and kissed him on the lips, putting her hands around his neck. "Why don't you take it off yourself?" she whispered as William moved his hands on her back to remove her bra,having a little difficulty in undoing the clasp.

"How do you take this off anyway?" said William as Erin looked at him, amused at how clueless he can sometimes be.

"You call yourself a genius but you can't figure this out?" Erin said, laughing a little until William was able to undo her underwear, slipping them out of her arms before grabbing her by the legs and carrying her into the bedroom. "Good job Hofstadter." Erin said as she held tightly onto his shoulders.

William gently put her on the bed while kissing her lips. "Babe?" he said.

"Uh huh?" mumbled Erin as she tried hard to become too excited.

"We haven't finished dinner yet." He said as he started to loosen her pants.

"Shut up and come here." said Erin while yanking off his pants before pulling him close to feel his affections. William took a deep breath and moved into Erin, holding her down while feeling her eagerness meeting his own.

"Ugh that was so good!" Erin said while wolfing down her food.

"Yeah, we should definitely do this more often." said William, forking a piece of meat and feeding it to his girlfriend. "Wait, we're talking about the food right?" he asked

"Yes, I'm talking about the food." Erin said, waiting for William to protest.

"Oh come on! You're choosing food over me!?" said William, making Erin laugh.

She leaned over and kissed his lips. "Don't worry babe, you did really good this time." she said, lightly touching his face.

William smiled and went back to finishing his food in a hurry.

"Babe, slow down! There's plenty of food!" said Erin.

"I finishing my food so I can drag you back in there and have some more dessert." he said, making Erin laugh.

"Why didn't you say so!?" she said, joining him in finishing her food before taking a big gulp from her water bottle. They put the food containers down and hurriedly ran towards the bedroom, slamming it shut before getting on the bed to have sex for a second time.

Back in California, Sarah is hanging out in the living room of Jason's house, watching TV,

"Are you alright?" asked Jason, touching her hand.

"Yeah. I just wish Halley and I didn't have to fight like that." said Sarah.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you guys can figure it out. You're practically sisters, right?" said Jason.

"I guess you're right." Sarah said while leaning her head on his shoulder.

Jason kissed her on the cheek while putting his arm around her. "Don't worry about it. I'm sure she'll come around."

Sarah sat up and smiled at Jason, slowly moving close to kiss his lips. Jason didn't move and let Sarah do what she wanted, tasting her sweet lips pressing against his while holding her close.
