Kakashi shoves his headband up and opens the hidden eye. The first man to come through the door slits his own throat with a kunai.

"Sharingan confirmed!" a kunoichi snaps to the others outside surrounding the house, and they don't dare to look into his eyes anymore.

Kakashi sees them move and pegs them as jounin and already warned about just how deadly Kakashi can be so they're not going to underestimate him.

Fuck.

Kakashi makes a run for it, leaping over furniture and skidding around the corner to the bathroom where the window is too small for adults to follow him through, but someone is already waiting for him and body-slams him off his feet and to the ground.

Kakashi thrashes and tries for a close range fire jutsu but his hands are grabbed and more ninja are piling into the hallway. Counting the fake Shimo, six jounin for one small boy. He's almost flattered.

He kicks one kunoichi in the kneecap, dislocating it, but two more adults drop down to pin him and they're so heavy and he's wheezing as they put their entire weight onto him.

Kakashi shakes his head violently when they try to cover his eyes with their hands and a shinobi grabs Kakashi's neck, choking him and keeping his head still. Kakashi throws up a small, shallow genjutsu with the Sharingan and hopes it works, hopes they don't know enough to second guess it.

A kunoichi hurriedly pastes a standard localised paralysis seal over his right eye, not the Sharingan. She tries to immobilise his fingers with one as well but the man choking him finally looks down properly thinking it's safe, and sees spinning red and black.

The man surges up, elbows the kunoichi in the face and tackles down another shinobi to the other side. Kakashi gasps desperately for air and forces his body to roll away from a stomp aimed towards his head.

The shinobi under the genjutsu is struck to the back of the head and collapses -unconscious. Kakashi spits out a fireball big enough to fill the entire hallway and dives out of the bathroom window, rolling back to his feet already surrounded by three more.

Nine jounin total. Kakashi misses the time when people sent chuunin after him. Why did he ever complain about easy kills?

Three down, six more to go.

One is already throwing shuriken at him while the other three burst from the house, only lightly singed, the kunoichi already recreating another paralysis seal.

Kakashi leaps up, throwing a kunai that swiftly multiplies to break up their initial formation, and lands on the roof. The rain of kunai has torn through sealing paper but that's not going to last for long. He needs to get rid of her.

Behind Kakashi, another shinobi shunshins in with a scimitar because of-fucking-course. Kakashi unsheathes the tanto at his back and parries a few strikes to the best of his abilities but the kenjutsu specialist has a considerably longer reach and far more strength to put into his swings.

A shallow cut is opened under his spinning Sharingan and despite the eye, he's at a disadvantage here. Kakashi jumps back and pretends to trip and fall at the landing. As the man follows, he switches with a loose roof tile just behind the shinobi and the kenjutsu specialist is too slow to dodge the slice that cuts the tendons at his heels.

Kakashi surges up for a stab but throws himself sideways to dodge the flight of shuriken a kunoichi hurls. He whips around, the Sharingan outlining the flight path and bringing the attached wires into stark relief.

He counters with his own shuriken, that knock the kunoichi's off-course just enough that another man coming in from the side is tangled up instead.

Kakashi leaps off the roof with a water dragon forming at his back and hurls it into the sealmaker. He catches a fireball heading for him and his eye spins faster into the Mangekyo to redirect it into the kunoichi as well, and he adds on wind blades just for good measure.

Four down.

A stone pillar slams into his side. He flies quite a distance, because he is a fucking lightweight nowadays, before he manges to slow down his flight with a blast of wind, landing feet first on a tree he would otherwise have sailed straight through.

He really can't take a hit in this body, and he knows that his ribs are at least cracked when he inhales for a huge fireball that covers the clearing and hides him from view.

A man cuts through the fire, too fast to not be an expert at taijutsu, and Kakashi drops down from overhead, blurring through hand signs that turns into a roar of air, compacting the shinobi down hard enough that the ground craters and the trees shake in the wind and nothing but a smear is left.

Five.

Senbon made of earth reach him from the left and his Sharingan briefly bleeds back into the Mangekyou as he redirects the senbon into the limping kenjutsu specialist providing long-range support from the roof, followed by a shunshin and short jump so his raikiri punctures the man's chest.

Six.

He's grabbed in a bearhug from behind and his clone explodes with a crack of thunder and lightning. The shinobi is thrown back off the roof, winded and burned but rolls when he hits the ground and gets back on his feet in a moment.

Kakashi's real body is tossed up from the earth and goes in with his tanto. The shinobi dodges the first strike and lands a punch on the sudden log Kakashi puffs into, throwing it into the side of the house where it bounces back off. The shinobi turns to try and find him, but the mid-air log snaps back into Kakashi and he lodges the tanto through the side of the man's head.

Seven.

Kakashi abandons the tanto and drops down, landing right in the middle of a mud wave that sends him stumbling, a sharp pain in his ankle, into the path of the wires kunoichi hurling kunai laced with wind chakra from the tree to his right.

He's too slow to take the jutsu for himself but throws up a mud wall to catch it before launching the entire wall at her. It smashes through the trees in the way but she flips over it just in time to get Kakashi's copy of the wind-powered kunai to her face.

Eight.

The last one is a kunoichi, the earth style ninjutsu master who stands across the clearing from him, ready and waiting for him to make the first move.

This Sharingan doesn't constantly drain him like Obito's used to but it's still a lot for his six year old reserves which are nowhere near his adult level, especially with the Mangekyo, especially considering the mission he only finished yesterday.

"Can't we just talk?" Kakashi offers, panting lightly, hunched over his broken ribs and weight settled off his sprained ankle - maybe playing it up a bit. "I'm six years old. I could really do with a nap right now."

"You're a monster," Iwa says, but she sounds impressed.

"Thanks," Kakashi sighs. "Alright, come on, let's get this over with-"

He dives away from the dozen earth spikes and slices the leaves from the trees, turning them into hundreds of razor blades. Her fireball is canceled out with Kakashi's copy, as is the localised mudslide and oh shit, Kakashi cannot be doing these kinds of things right now with his chakra levels.

Kakashi smells lilac and turns in time for the clone with the giant rock she levered out from the ground to then kick it at him. Kakashi misjudges the blast of air and it doesn't throw the boulder back, just slows it down.

He raises his arms and gets slammed off his feet and to the ground, the large rock rolling off him with the momentum but leaving Kakashi out of breath and his left arm shattered.

Maybe he blacks out for a moment, but after he blinks, the kunoichi is planting a knee on his ribs with enough weight that they grind together and Kakashi chokes on a scream.

She's on his weapons pouch so he claws at the one on her left thigh, which is the only part he can reach, but a bandage and a few packs of soldier pills fall out instead.

The woman covers his Sharingan with a hand, blocking out his vision entirely and there's the sound of wire being pulled out of a pocket.

Kakashi gathers chakra into his mouth with only a single, one-handed seal, bites down on ice and spits the crude senbon upwards. It pierces through his face mask and deep into the woman's eye.

Nine.

She collapses right onto him, nearly suffocating him with her flak jacket while aggravating his already painful injuries.

"Shit," Kakashi groans, muffled.

Moving her corpse from his body is an arduous task, now the adrenaline is slowly fading and even the smaller injuries make themselves known.

When he emerges from under her, cold sweat is running down his forehead and he's swaying from pain and chakra exhaustion.

He checks all the bodies, double taps with kunai to the necks to make absolutely sure they're dead -he can't afford any surprises- and proceeds to seal them into body scrolls.

He collects his tanto from the shinobi's head and stumbles back into the cabin, taking away as much supplies as he can carry from the outpost.

He can't do much about the evidence of this fight, so he uses his last dredges of his chakra to summon Pakkun to relay a message to the other travellers.

This outpost is compromised, the Shimo traveller might be as well.

Kakashi is limping across sand, ankle sprained and swollen, arm hanging limp by his side with the bone shattered.

One eye is covered with a seal and the other is closed, crying blood from overusing the Mangekyo.

His ribs are cracked and he shakily pulls down his mask to cough out some more blood. His feet hit wet sand, then the waves rush past, stinging his open wounds and making him stumble and fall to his knees, jarring his injuries.

Kakashi falls back onto his calves and sits there.

A few minutes go by and the water ripples, a figure shaped from the ocean rising up in front of Kakashi. It pauses, it's upper torso above the surface, and then leans forward, engulfing the boy.

He finally lets himself pass out.
