Omg...
Hi
I suck
I seriously just post then leave y'all hanging for weeks or months.
Sorry
Welp, hope you enjoy anyways!
Travis walks into the very busy office.
"Stoll, there's been another scene this time down at the jewelry store 18th and 29th." Officer Sherman tells him, flanking Travis' side.
"We think it might be Gardner." Officer Ellis says, coming to the detective's other side.
Travis smirks on the inside, but doesn't show it to the them. "Definitely her. Is someone down at the scene?" Travis asks.
"Yeah. Detective Stoll and Officer Markowitz. Well, the other Stoll. And other officers." Sherman says.
"Alright. Let me put my stuff in my office and then we'll head over there." Travis tells them.
"Got it." Ellis says, turning around.
Sherman goes to follow, but stops and turns around. "Maybe this time we'll actually get a clue to catch her. We've been on this case way too long."
Travis offers a small smile. "Yeah, hopefully."
Sherman nods before turning around. Travis walks to his office, smirking to himself and shaking his head.
'Fools." He thinks. They'll never catch Gardner because she always happens to be one step ahead of the police. Or maybe that's just because Travis is married to her and tells her everything. Yes, Travis Stoll, one of the top detectives in NY, is married to one of the biggest Mob Bosses and no one has figured it out. The two always like to play a little game where they try to catch the other, but just somehow the other escapes. It's pretty interesting.
Travis walks into his office. The glass walls all around and floor to ceiling windows make for an excellent view of the city. He looks at the picture of him and Katie (Gardner) from the trip they took to Montana. That was a fun trip. Travis sets his things down and grabs the things he needs before running out to meet Sherman and Ellis.
Travis gets out the cop SUV, pushing past other officers and reporters to get inside. There's people taking pictures and samples of things. Travis walks up to his brother who's alone by one of glass cases that held jewelry.
"She definitely left a mess for us," Travis says.
Connor is the only one who knows about Katie being Travis' wife. And he hasn't said a word to anyone about it yet.
"Ugh, I'm going to have so much work to do." Connor complains.
Travis snorts. He looks over at the glass panel that was perfectly taken from the other glass and the necklace holders. On top of one of the holders is a small daisy, Katie's signature thing. She leaves one at every crime scene.
"Why didn't you have to pick someone to date that's normal?" Connor asks.
Travis laughs. "Because."
Connor rolls his eyes before his phone goes off. He answers it. "Hey, Davis." Connor answers, smiling.
Travis holds in a laugh, looking at his younger brother. Travis ignores him and looks around at the scene.
"There's still no evident indicator on where Gardner and her crew could've gone or who they actually are." Ellis says, coming up to Travis.
"Are the samples going to down to the lab?" Travis asks, though he's not worried because Katie's too good to get caught.
She learned from the best.
"Yes," Ellis tells him.
"Okay, good. Let's keep looking for evidence." Travis orders.
Ellis nods before walking off.
Travis looks up from his desk as a figure moves closer to his office from the dark room of other offices for the officers. Only his two lamps are on to make some light as he works on other cases.
"How'd you get in here?" Travis asks, smirking and leaning back in his chair.
"Oh, you know, hacked the cameras in your office to put on loop and sneaked past the other cameras, coming through the back door." Katie says, walking over to Travis. "Just the usual."
Travis laughs and opens his arms for Katie which she climbs into.
"You put the work place into a frenzy today." Travis mutters, rubbing her back in small circles.
"That oddly makes me happy," Katie says, pulling back and grinning. Travis grins back for a moment then pulls Katie into a kiss. She kisses back, putting her hands on the back of his neck.
"Can we stop at Mezeh for dinner? I didn't make anything." Katie asks, pulling away.
"Yes. I've been craving it all day." Travis says.
Katie smiles. "Great. Let's head home to get changed out of work clothes though this detective uniform does look hot." Katie tugs at Travis' shirt.
Travis hums. "Glad you like it. I do think I look rather good in it."
Katie rolls her eyes. "Don't flatter yourself. Now let's go, I'm starving."
Travis nods and the two get up from his chair. Katie waits for her husband to finish putting his things away before she leads him through the work place to the car parked out back.
Travis and Connor get ready to bust down a door to an old warehouse. Sherman, Ellis, and Cecil are behind them along with some agents. Cops and the FBI are flanked all around the building.
Sherman made this really big break on the case and found one of the hiding spots that Katie and her crew have set up.
Travis mentally curses at himself. He should've done something to throw them off Katie's track and now all he can do is hope she isn't in there. He didn't even have time to warn her about anything.
"On my count," Travis tells them. "One, two, three."
Cecil bust down the door and the small team runs into the warehouse, weapons raised. They run through the warehouse until they get to the fourth floor. That's when all chaos breaks loose.
There's a small group of people around a table. Everyone freezes; the people from the cops and the cops from seeing the people.
Travis instantly recognizes Katie's figure and shakes his head slightly.
The girl to her left quickly pulls out a gun from her side, firing at the cops. Of course they duck down and fire back.
Sherman ducks by Travis behind a box as it gets shredded from bullets. Soon enough, they get from behind it.
A bullet, most likely going for Sherman, impales itself in Travis' leg. Sherman scrambles away. He looks up to see Katie looking him a couple feet away from him.
"Oh I am never going to hear the end of this, will I?" Katie asks, lowering her weapon slightly.
"No. Now act hurt." Travis says before raising his and firing next to her side.
She does and moves away. It's all a big frenzy. Katie and her crew actually manage to get away without the cops or FBI getting them. And Travis gets rushed to the hospital.
Travis walks through the door of his and Katie's house. He makes his way to the dining room to see it set with dinner.
"There you are." Katie says, walking in from the kitchen with a wine and whiskey bottle.
"Yeah. Here I am." Travis says, sitting down and putting his crutches next to him.
Katie pours herself some wine and Travis some whiskey. Not a lot, just a little. Katie sits down next to him as he starts making his plate. She makes hers.
"So, how was work today?" Katie asks.
Travis stops dead in his tracks and she looks at him.
"You shot me! That's how my day at work was!" He exclaims.
Katie stares at him before laughing. Travis rolls his eyes.
"Oh, you'll be fine. It was just the leg." Katie tells him, kissing his cheek.
"Uh huh, sure."
Katie shakes her head, smiling.
"You know, you could've aimed a little better." Travis tells her, aggressively eating his steak.
"It's not my fault you moved in front of Sherman."
"Still. What if I died?"
"You wouldn't have died."
"But what if I did? You can't just shoot someone, Katie."
"Travis, stop being a baby. You'll be in the crutches for a little while and then you're out of them."
Travis stays quiet.
"I guess you did look pretty hot today." He mutters.
"Yes, yes I did."
"Did you guys at least make it out okay?"
"Yes, we did."
Travis turns to look at his wife, smirking.
"I'm married to a real bad girl."
"No. A good girl who hasn't been caught yet." Katie says adding on a wink at the end and sipping her wine.
Travis chuckles a little before kissing her.
