Sugar has a bad voice. She knows it already. She knows no one likes her. But she figured joining the glee club would help. Now she's given up. Can someone help her? Or will someone try to change her to their will? Or will someone try to change her but just to help her get out of her shell? Read on to find out.

30. Chapter-30

-Chapter 30-1 more guest on the last day before Christmas-

-Rachel pov-

Having everyone in your house celebrate Christmas kind of sucks. I mean I enjoy being together and all! I just finally realized I missed Hanukkah's start. I'm 4 days from it ending already.

I made up for it and started lighting some candles. I had done everything i needed to and went downstairs. When I came back to the room they were out. I couldn't keep the tears at bay.

For the past few years I've celebrated alone. I know we have a family now but that's my holiday. Sure I celebrate Christmas with everyone! But I'm Jewish so I still wanna celebrate my way.

"Rachel?" I turn away from Brittany as she walks in "What's wrong?"

"Nothing" I sniffle and shake my head "Absolutely nothing"

"I am not stupid" Soon she's got a arm wrapped around me "I may be your stepmom in the future..I'd like to have a friendship no matter what though! I want you to be able to trust and talk to me"

"I had a menorah lit for the past days I've missed" I look over at the no longer lit candles "Someone blew them out...it's the only thing I've had the past few years and it's like...like someone just threw a piece of me away! I guess that's being overdramatic though"

"It is not" Brittany makes me look her in the eyes "Your feelings are not drama or worthless! Feelings are what make you special! Your beliefs are what make you special! Why don't we do this together?"

I give her a surprised look "Really?" She nods and I smile "Thank you"

"No problem" She wipes my tears away "Why don't you get the candles and everything ready? I'll go get the lighter!"

I nod and bounce up from the bed. I finally have someone to do this with! This is gonna be fun!

-Brittany pov-

I walk downstairs and see everyone is in the kitchen. I walk over and look through some drawers. I feel eyes on me but keep looking anyways. Where is the stupid lighter?!

"What ya looking for?" I look over at Shelby "Can I help you get it?"

"Lighter" Shelby walks past me and opens up a drawer. She moves somethings around and then pulls out a lighter "Thank you!"

"Can we ask what that is for?" I don't respond and Judy raises a eyebrow "Brittany?"

"It's for a menorah" I sigh and hold up the lighter "I came down to get this for Rachel to do it with her"

"What is a menorah?" Quinn looks confused "Is it like a candle?"

"It's a part of Jewish holidays" Sugar grabs a napkin and pen before drawing one "I think she has one in her room"

"Oh shit" Quinn puts her head in her hands "I blew it out trying to be nice"

"You sent her into tears" She looks up at me in hope that I'm lying "She said it felt like someone threw a part of her away"

Quinn groans and puts her head down "Of course I'd mess up!" Quinn shakes her head and let's out a sigh "Fuck"

"Well I'm gonna do this" I start waking away "Maybe you can all join soon"

I walk upstairs thinking about it. I wanna have something special with Rachel. In the future I could get one with Beth maybe. So why do I not feel wrong about doing this?

"Brittany!" I look up and see Rachel smiling "I got everything ready!"

"No" I walk over and grab the menorah "Follow me with everything Rach"

"What?" I don't respond and walk to the door "What are you doing?!"

"Follow and find out!" I walk downstairs and soon we are all in the kitchen "I wanted this to be just me and Rachel...but it wouldn't be right not to do something like this as a family"

"You sure?" I nod and Shelby smiles "Alright then"

"There you are!" Rachel stomps in and then stops "What's going on?"

"We are doing this as a family" I smile and hold out the lighter "You are apart of the family and you should not have to ever do something alone"

Rachel looks around at everyone "Are you sure?" We all nod and she gives a watery smile "Thank you"

"Don't thank me" Quinn stands up and slowly walks over "I'm the one that blew them out today...I thought it was just a candle and was joking around..I am so sorry"

"You wanna make it up to me?" Quinn nods and Rachel hands her the lighter "You light the menorah"

Quinn looks at me and I nod with a smile. Quinn takes the lighter and hugs Rachel. I can always find something else for just me and Rachel. I've got a while to do that.

-Santana singing-

"Noah sang it once" Santana shrugs "I figured it fit in"

"It was perfect" Rachel smiles brightly "Why don't you sing it again as we light them? We can even sing along with you! Is that ok with everybody?"

We nod and we go one with it. Today started, hopefully, a new family tradition.

-Time skip-Shelby pov-

"Brittany and the other two are really trying" I look over at sugar confused "They wanna be stepmoms to Beth and Rachel"

"Is that what that was about?" She nods and gives me a look like I should have known "I wonder if they got them gifts too"

"I know we did" Judy walks in and grabs the coffee pot "Maribel and I could not wait to get grandkids! Now Beth is back and I have Rachel too! It's just perfect!"

"It's about to not be perfect" Maribel speeds through the kitchen "My mom just got here! Everyone shield your ears!"

Everyone but sugar and I block our ears. I soon regret that decision.

-Maribels mom singing-

"My ears!" Sugar falls down holding them "I think I'm deaf! Oh good is that how I sounded?! Why didn't you kill me?!"

"She's rude!" Maribels mom glares at sugar "Why is she here?"

"Family meet Marisol" Maribel sighs "Mom meet the family"

"How is that chick family?" I help sugar up and glare "Oh look...attack mom"

"You're in our house mother!" Marisol rolls her eyes "Stop being a child!"

"It's fine Maribel" I put out my hand "I'm Shelby"

"Not nice to meet you" Marisol grabs my hand "Your home is uuu..OW!"

I squeeze her hand a bit more "Laugh at me being an attack mom again?" She shakes her head no and i let go "You are a guest in our house...do not think I wouldn't pay for a hotel"

"Maribel!" Marisol looks over at Maribel "You let your girlfriend talk to me like this? This is why I said Daniel was better!"

"My dad kicked us when he found out mom was a lesbian" Santana walks over and wraps her arms around me "Shes also my girlfriend"

"And ours too" Brittany and Quinn are soon hugging me too "We all live here!"

"That's right mother" Maribel stands up straight "I want you to see your daughter but...if you can not behave and can't accept I'm with Judy then..then I guess you will have to leave!"

"A backbone" Marisol smiles and looks over at me "I wish you would've met her sooner"

"Maribel has been a great host" Marisol nods "Are we all good?"

"I suppose" Marisol looks at Judy "Should've know it would be you"

"Let me show you to the room" Judy grabs marisols bag "You can go over everything up there"

We watch them go up "She likes you" I look at Maribel who smiles "Now I've gotta make sure she likes Judy too"

"Good luck" Maribel nods and walks away "So another person knows about us"

"I wish everyone could" The girls pull away as the family comes over "But at least our family and friends know"

"That is true" I clap and look at my mom "Why don't we start working on food?"

"Good idea" Mom smiles and grabs both other moms hands "We can all work on it!"

I smile as the two complain and try to get away. I smile wider when I get three kisses quickly. I'm starting to love this little family more and more. I really hope we are able to make it last.

But only time will tell I guess. For now, let's just hope we make through Christmas.
