POKEMON: LET'S GO

Episode 30: Shock The S. S. Anne!

"Our heroes have reached Vermilion City, and after spending the whole night at the Pokemon Center, Chase is ready to take on the Gym and win his third Badge."

At the Pokemon Center, Elaine hands over her Pokemon Egg to Nurse Joy for a check up. Riley and Chase discuss Chase's potential strategy in his upcoming Gym Battle. Chase reveals that he has decided to give a chance to his new Pokemon- Nidoran and Charmander. Riley, however, suggests him that he should use Bulbasaur or Pidgeotto instead of Charmander as Chase doesn't have much experience with Charmander. Chasesticks to his decision, relying on the connection he shares with his Pokemon.

They are cut short of their conversation as Elaine calls them to meet Nurse Joy. She tells the group that the Gym is closed for a day as the Gym Leader has gone to the party on the famous luxury cruise S. S. Anne. Chase begins to panic on hearing this, but Riley calms him down and recalls that Bill gave them tickets for the same party.

Elsewhere, Team Rocket receives a video message from their BOSS. Giovanni tasks them with infiltrating S. S. Anne and reporting back about the security system of the cruise. They are overjoyed to receive a special mission for the first time. On the other hand, in Team Rocket's secret lair, an assistant of Giovanni worries if they are right for the job. Giovanni comments that they are meant to be just a distraction for the security and the executive selected for the mission needs no help.

The group reaches the port and state in awe at the S. S. Anne. They are interrupted by Officer Jenny as she asks them to stay out of the way as a luxury party is going on in the cruise. However, she respectfully leads them inside as they show their tickets. Once inside, they are awestruck by the luxury of the cruise they admit they have never seen before. Riley remarks that they are part of it only because Bill was too busy to come there. However, they are shocked as Bill finds them on the cruise. He reveals that after the incident with Pikachu and Chase, he decided to spend sometime out of his lab and managed to arrange another ticket for himself.

As the group talks, Riley notices Professor Oak. The group and Bill rush to meet him. Riley eagerly introduces himself to him. Oak gladly greets the kids as Chase shows him the two badges he has won. Oak searches in his bag for something and gives Chase a BadgeCase taht he forgot to give him before. Chase accepts it and gleefully places his badges in it. Oak asks the children to attend his seminar on "Relationship between Humans and Pokemon". Bill and Riley readily accept the offer, but Chase and Elaine decide to explore rest of the party.

Outside the cruise, Jessie and James, disguised as a rich couple and Meowth hanging on Jessie's shoulder, approach it and get inside by flashing the fake tickets to the guards. Once inside, they find it too amusing as they have only dreamt of such things. However, Meowth claims to have witnessed many such parties in his past. Jessie quickly forces Meowth to shut up and stand on four legs as Officer Jenny comes around them. However, she develops a suspicion and asks the guards to keep an eye on them.

Elsewhere, Chase and Elaine come across a crowd waiting to listen to the Gym Leader's speech. The Pokemon Fan Club Chairman invites Lt. Surge, the Vermilion Gym Leader, on stage. Lt. Surge enters along with his Raichu. He starts his speech and tells the crowd about the connection a trainer must share with his Pokemon to realise their full strength as a team and grow stronger. He asks the audience to tell about their connection with their Pokemon. Chase excitedly raises his hand and tells that his connection with his Pokemon, especially Pikachu, always cheer them up and have them working hard until they reach their goal. He calls Pikachu his best friend and tells that his dream is to become the greatest ever Pokemon Trainer. Surge is impressed by his thoughts.

Elsewhere, Riley and Bill attend Professor Oak's seminar. Team Rocket also attend it and gets bored. Finally, the cruise starts its journey into the sea. Meowth tells Jessie that the time has come to initiate their plan.

On the other hand, Chase is shares his excitement for his Gym battle against Surge with Elaine. However, Surge finds him and asks him if he wants to have a practice battle against him. Chase accepts it and Surge leads them to the deck, where a special battlefield has been built. They quickly take positions and Chase goes with Pikachu. Surge likes his zeal and goes with Raichu. Pikachu uses Quick Attack but Raichu keeps dodging his moves swiftly. Elaine is amazed at its agility. Pikachu is exhausted and stops at last, but Raichu stills looks fresh. Chase goes for a Thunderbolt that Raichu takes head on, but is unmoved.

Team Rocket slips out to a hall, where James calls out Koffing to have him use Smokescreen. Jessie and himself then loudly scream for fire as the fire alarms also begin to buzz. All the passengers are disturbed and the chaos begins.

As Raichu is about to show the power of a real Thunderbolt, the trio notices smoke and hear the fire alarm. They run down and Chase has Pidgeotto use Whirlwind to clear off the smoke. As the smoke clears, Team Rocket finds themselves surrounded by guards and police. The group reunite with Riley, Bill and Professor Oak. Officer Jenny announces the fire to he fake and the chaos stops. Elaine then recognises them as the Team Rocket and they change into their regular outfits, reciting their motto, before being arrested by Officer Jenny.

Just then, a submarine hits the cruise and lots of Team Rocket grunts burst in along with a flock of Zubat using Supersonic to confuse all the Pokemon on the cruise. At last, their leader reveals himself whom Officer Jenny and Team Rocket Trio recognise as Proton.
