Chapter 30
"So, what do we know about this curse?"
It became a group effort to say the least. Suiryu sat everyone down… mainly the students as a joint lesson and to ensure he has fulfilled his teaching obligations for the day. "It attacked this school once before during the goodwill exchange the first year I was here," Yuuji explained. "It's strong, it's really connected to its element."
"I can vouch for that too, able to summon massive tree roots at a moment's notice, surround the whole area to block in people and prevent escape. It's methodical." Fushiguro chimed in.
"It's also capable of creating a simple domain in a sense, surrounding you in flowers, the smell becomes a distraction and you fall into a calm trance," Yuuji said.
"So we are familiar with this one huh? Okay then…" Suiryu paused as he looked at the notes he wrote on a white board. "Yuuji, fire is OUT of the question here, don't use it what so ever"
He nodded in agreement. "I've played pokemon, I know how this work," he snickered.
"Pokewhat?" Suiryu muttered and glared at him oddly, but was quick to dismiss it. "Never mind, we can use water, I suggest ice or water blades to cut it down, but avoid getting its feet wet. We just maybe giving it strength if we go that way…"
"So, what do you think will happen to Itadori when he eats this one?" Nobara asked offhandedly.
Suiryu shrugged. "If we are going by a pattern here, he is stuck in that position for some time, it's hard to say with an earth elemental. For all we know, he could turn into a rock,"
"Great…" Yuuji muttered.
"I'll be sure Satoru doesn't glue googly eyes on you" Suiryu vowed.
"What about living arrangement?" Fushiguro asked.
"That… we have to work on, again we don't know what this will do to him after, so we have to be careful and plan this carefully"
"So how do we find this thing?" Mika asked.
"I can ask Kitsune" Yuuji said.
"The fox woman? I got to know why does she hang out with you?" questioned Fushiguro.
"Because, he is my young master…"
The room jumped!
She appeared behind Suiryu of all places, but she merely glared at him before her sights turned to Yuuji. She smiled warmly to him. "You have controlled two elements, well done," she said. "But you are now seeking the earth one… this may be a little harder for you to contend with."
"To fight you mean? I have faced this one before, in fact, this was the curse Todo used to train me on using Black Flash,"
She nodded to his words. "Yes, but young master, remember, this was reborn through a disciple of Sukuna. Its power will be greater than it was before, as well, it had a chance to hibernate. Curses associated with nature, if following the pattern given, will take advantage of this…"
"Wait, you mean to tell us curses can feed off of nature?" asked Nobara.
"Indeed, many are created out of fear of surroundings. Thus, the element will naturally feed it as well."
"Maybe I can try a small fire attack then…"
"Out of the question," Suiryu said defiantly. "Your idea of a small fire, turns into an inferno. Remember the first fireball you made? That was no effort on your part, but would have been the most powerful attack Jojo possessed."
"Jojo?" The table asked.
"Volcano curse's name."
"Oh!" they all said in unison.
"With the water element, he should be able to control it better," Kitsune said offhandedly.
"Be that as it may, if he burns it too much, he won't have anything to eat and absorb its power… Now, if we know where this one is, my concern is for the next three. Air, darkness and light, I have yet to really come across curses like that. Let alone think about where they would dwell, form or even come to flesh…" Suiryu announced. "If we get desperate enough, I can possibly make them…"
"You never explained that," Fushiguro muttered. "You mentioned it before,"
Suiryu smirked. "I don't let you know EVERYTHING about me at once, gotta leave some surprises in there." he said and cackled a little, but as the room began to look uneasy he settled himself. "Ahem! It's the same as cultivating curse energy in a sense, however with this method you are cultivating the fear that creates it, in other words, helping it form and become a physical manifestation."
He looked as the room turned a little white in the face, even Yuuji. "You… can do that?" Yuuji whispered.
Suiryu nodded to him. "Quite easily, you can too if you tried, but I doubt you would." He paused a moment and began to think. "Hmm, it is doable… at the same time… Wait… that would be trouble…"
"Suiryu?" Yuuji asked gently. "What are you thinking?"
"Taking into consideration an aspect for future reference… the light and dark element, if we find the curses to them, you cannot eat one at a time, they got to go together,"
"Huh?" the table muttered.
"He's right," Kitsune said. "If you consume one over the other, you will not be able to maintain control. Just like your fire element, you needed water to balance out. Light and dark have to have balance, if not, one will overwhelm the other." She explained. She peered over at Suiryu curiously. "Hm, I never thought you would have considered balance before?"
He sneered at her. "Balance is all important in jujutsu!" he protested to her. "You cannot master one ability over all others, they have to be trained equally for all of them to have their maximum potential!"
"Really?" asked Mika.
He nodded. "Let me use Taboo for example. This is a very basic, easy, a six year old could use kind of spell. Normally it's good for only a few minutes in the hands of an amateur. HOWEVER, in the hands of a master it has many implications. For example, none of you have ever been able to speak my name to your parents, guardians, elders who whoever you answer to, have you?" he asked.
The table paused. "It's true, even when I speak with my creator about it… I cannot speak his name oddly enough," Panda said offhandedly.
"That's how strong I have made it, when I go out too, despite my face plastered everywhere, no one recognizes me unless I want them to. It's also why other sorcerers have yet to see me as Sukuna in a sense."
"Shit," muttered Nobara. "It's that strong huh?"
"Every jujutsu has to be treated as such, despite how useless it may appear at first, your strongest abilities are only as good as your weakest ones."
"Damn, I didn't think we were getting a lesson today but this is good stuff…" Mika said.
"Salmon," chimed Inumaki.
"Oh, when did his arm heal? How did it heal?" Yuuji asked.
"Domain expansion, took back his arm through malevolent shrine after lopping mine off to show I rejected the offering… linked us and when my arm grew back, so did his." Suiryu said in a basic and unimpressed tone.
Suiryu paused as he noticed everyone suddenly looking a little white in the face. 'What is it with everyone looking pale today?' Suiryu thought to himself.
"Be that as it may, we are focused on the earth curse for now. I know where it is too," Kitsune stated. "Young master, are you ready to obtain it?"
Yuuji sighed aloud. "Not that I have much of a choice in the matter…"
She giggled to him. "Even so, young master. You are doing a great service for Ryujin," she said. "The curse has taken up the land that was cleared before the war. The town by the mountains, that was covered in a curtain…"
Yuuji nodded, he turned to Suiryu. "So, we head off now?" he asked.
Suiryu nodded. "Everyone, make perpetration for when we come back. Let's go get this bastard," he announced.
