Dawn of Injustice: Return of the Mavericks Secret Report 7 (Artificial Speed Realm)

It has been a couple of months since the defeat of Johnny Speed and the death of the Speed Realm. Dr. Paradox, Clockwork and Cheat/Tobias had been practicing their time powers knowing full well that they'll be needed for maintaining the balance of timeline. Paradox himself would one day retire and the responsibility of watching over the Temporal Zone as its Monitor would eventually be passed. Cheat being the husband of the Sisters of Fate proved to be compatible with the role. But Clockwork would also be a good candidate, considering his passion for his powers. While Clockwork still had earthly restraint due to his old thieving habits, Cheat had only been a charitable gambler that knows disconnection with worldly desires and concerns. The problem is that Tobias could not leave his gang and leadership with organized crime lords for the sole reason that he keeps them at bay. His gambling skills and talents earned him many profits but spends most of them in donating for the unfortunate people.
Meanwhile Lori had enjoyed her freedom from heroics with her children. Sure she and Rory/Mercury Girl had only residual connection with the tachyon speed-enhancers from the Speed Realm and they swore to only use them for emergency reasons only, but they also had been getting visions in their dreams. Their sleep patterns had been disturb by nightmares of a crumbling world wishing to be restored or saved. Lori shrugs them off as bad dreams… if only that was just the case.
Lisa/Omnisciencecom: Lori Loud-Santiago, I request your presence in the headquarters immediately. It is a matter of life and death and you're part of this.
Lori: Can it wait, Lisa? I'm in a middle of family bonding.
Lincoln/Phoenixcom: Lori, I suggest you come this instant. This had something to do with you.
Lori: Lincoln? Alright, fine. I'll go. Let me just tell Bobby and my kids. Plus, I haven't put Amanda to sleep yet.
Lori took her car, Vanzilla 2.0 and headed towards the Headquarters (Nest of the Phoenix). Once she reached Lisa Wisemann's Laboratory, she saw her deactivated Savitara suit, a Tachyon prototype based on Johnny Speed's speed-enhancing bands, the same particle reactor-accelerator that Lisa used that gave birth to their Meta-Human powers and the Apple of Eden; encased in protective glass layers. Not only that Lisa and Lincoln was present among them but Luna is also at the laboratory.
Lori: Luna? Why are you here? How was the newborns?
Luna/Thunderdrum: I was gonna ask you on why you didn't attended the hospital when my twins are born?
Lori: Twins? I thought I'll only expect one. So, I'll be godmother of twins?
Luna/Thunderdram: Yes you are. You missed the ordeal so I had Sam film it for me. Eclipse, Lina and Petty are gonna have younger twin siblings. The girl is first and her name is Lyrica (basically a blonde version of Patanu's Lyra Loud)
Lori: I see. Then the younger twin?
Luna/Thunderdrum: I'm conflicted on whether I'd pick Shawm (JaviSuzumiya's Shawn Loud) or Sitar since both a re good instruments. That and Sam and I decided to honor Simon-bro by retaining the "S" in the names. He's somewhere out there trying to find closure from Replicate and Aroma after figuring out who his parents are.
Lori: I… see. And how did Sam took it?
Luna/Thunderdrum: Sam and Lina are a bit overprotective since the twins are children of mine and Simon's so they're prepared to explain about how Sam and I are their mother while Simon is their surrogate. I had to admit, this is the first time I'm nervous.
Lori: Okay. But to divert, why did Lincoln and Lisa called me when I'm literally in the middle of a family time?
Suddenly a shake came and quaked not just the lab but the whole world. The quake isn't strong enough to damage anything but it is getting stronger then stops suddenly.
Luna/Thunderdrum: Because of that.
Lori: An earthquake? They literally called me for an earthquake?
Lincoln/Phoenix: Not an earthquake, Lori. A space-quake. There is no epicenter in Earth but quakes are happening all over the globe by an antimatter of stillness or potential energy. I believe every part of the Many-Verse areaffected by this quake.
Lori: But why?
Lisa/Omniscience: It may had something to do with the Speed Realm's death. That realm is an endless void of space-time and energy. Killing it is impossible because energy cannot be destroyed nor created, like particles they can only change or converted. So killing the Speed Realm means…
Lori: I converted the energy of the Tachyons into stillness. When I literally ran too fast, the Speed Realm couldn't keep up because of the toxic negative Tachyons leeching on its energy. With that and my attempt combined must have…
Lisa/Omniscience: Triggered a chain reaction of energy influx that converted the Tachyon energy into potential energy and put it in a still-death state.
Lori: So why are we literally experiencing the space-quakes?
A mysterious voice then came and two figures appeared. One is a blazing figure of an angel, similar to Lincoln's Phoenix form. Then another male angel with wings of silvery-gold and armor similar to a combination of Savitara's suit and Godspeed's white armor suit.
Lincoln/Phoenix: Camael, the Angel of Flames, Wrath and War. Good to see you but why are you here? I thought our partnership ended when the Tower of Judgement had been sealed.
Camael: I came because it seemed that Father, Ehyeh is concerned to the cosmic imbalance that occurred. Something to do with my brother's creation. Introduce thyself brother.
Speed-Angel: My name is Cassiel, the Angel of True Speed and Protection. I came because I heard that my creation, The Speed Realm had been killed. Tell me woman, it that true?
Lori: It is and it is my fault. I delivered the final blow in order to stop an evil speedster from leeching from its power and dooming the timeline and the Many-Verse.
Cassiel: I see. You are its favored one. I'd say all is forgiven but… Without the realm's power, every frequencies of the different alternative universe will collapse into one. The world will be destroyed and amalgamated into one Earth. All those who've exist may cease while those eliminated might return. I dread that this will occur in seven days just like in the dawn of Creation. Without the Speed Realm, all might be lost.
Lori: It can't be. I literally thought all is alright! Why didn't Clockwork or Dr. Paradox told me this?
Cassiel: They can look into a future, not the "absolute" future. Meaning they saw only a glimpse of a possible alternative. And that is you making amends to what you've done. But this one is also a possible future unless you do something within these remaining seven days.
Lisa/Omniscience: That is why I've called you. You must venture to Atlantis and find the missing component to our Artificial Speed Realm generator. With that, we can revive the Speed Realm and preserve whatever remains in the Many-Verse.
Cassiel: Consider this as part of a trial I will put you through. I want to know if you're worthy of the powers you've been blessed with. Just as the Speed Realm did before. I will do my best to delay this catastrophe as much as possible but Father knows I must entrust things to you, lest you put everyone in danger.
Lincoln/Phoenix: I'm coming with. And this time, Luna will too. I have a hunch we'll meet again.
Luna/Thunderdrum: Who… oh. Him.
Lori: Who's him?
Lincoln/Phoenix: We're going to Atlantis, somewhere in the coast of Iceland. The Sanctum there was sealed away since Kervantez's Death and the only one entrusted with Triton's Path is none other than... His daughter, Sarah Ivy Atlantica.
Lori: The pirate girl?
Lincoln/Phoenix: Not just any pirate girl. She is a direct descendant of the Atlantica family. Kervantez was third son. The first prince died in a battle, the second assumed the throne and carries Neptune's will and powers. The demon Levi-Nathan and the djinn Winea are their guardian spirits, crowning Neptune as god-king of Atlantis. That makes her royalty. And what's worse is…
Luna/Thunderdrum: You don't have to continue if it scares you.
Camael: You fear that defaced man? I thought you've let go of that. Have I not taught you that instinct is a lie, told by a fearful body, hoping to be wrong.
Lincoln/Phoenix: I don't fear him. It's just, it had been so long that I wonder if he reasoned and let go of our former hostility. Especially since he broke off to Jordan Rosato ever since he became a vigilante as Code 2 aka. Aqueous.
Lori: You mean Chandler! He's still there?
Lincoln/Phoenix: I can see it now. He wants a rematch. I only won because he didn't know about magicules and the stolen Heliokinetic upgrade I got from Helios. If he did trained in Atlantis sanctum, he will have a means to rival my strength.
Camael: Have I not told you that even if we are apart, I will always be with you. Irate no longer bind you in his rage, does he not? You've defeated him before, you can do it again.
Luna/Thunderdrum: He's right bro. And besides water against my lightning isn't gonna help him win. Although I doubt he'll let me intervene.
Lori: What are we waiting for? Let's literally go and save the Many-Verse from collapse.
Lisa then took the jet. She sent a message towards the others that she'll be in a mission. Sam will stay to care for the newborns. Bobby understood and had Ronnie's assistance. (Girl) Jordan knew this was inevitable so she let Lincoln faced his past, not without a promise of return. Soothsayer bid them farewell and good luck for the journey at Atlantis Sanctum. While aboard the plane to Iceland, they had moments of silence and prayers in hoping that this would be the last time that they had to go through another crisis.
Or at the very least, the last crisis that affects a worldwide… no, a cosmic universal scale.
A few hours later they've reached the home of Sarah and Chandler, the Wellerman's Ship. A literal boat-home, afloat the pier of Iceland. The jet landed on a near beach, spacious enough for parking.
Chandler/Aqueous: I knew you'd come, Larry. And please don't call me Hydro, that was the past. You can still call me Aqueous or Oceanus by the way.
Lincoln/Phoenix: Likewise, I need your help. Or rather, they need your approval on a safe passage on Triton's Path.
Sarah: Atlantis is off-limits unless you had business with the Sanctum.
Lori: The Multiverse is collapsing due to the lack of cosmic power maintaining it. Is that literally enough for you?
Chandler/Aqueous: Not my problem.
Lincoln/Phoenix: It will be. If the Many-Verse collapse and amalgamate into one, all the dead people might return back into this newly merged Earth or worse, the ones that exist right now might vanish! So yeah, I think this is also your problem, Chandler!
Chandler/Aqueous: Hmm… alright. Sarah will guide them. Say hello to Prince Atlantica for me.
Luna, Lincoln and Lori then follows Sarah to the sea. But soon, Chandler used a wall of water to block only Lincoln.
Chandler/Aqueous: Not him. The two of you can go. I have business with Larry here.
Lori: You literally can't be…
Lincoln/Phoenix: Just go! I'll deal with this.
Sarah then created a pathway from the sea, a cavern of water using old Atlanticism (Atlantic magic of ocean). Though a novice on magic and more on a marksman, she's still a royal Atlantic blood.
Chandler/Aqueous: Ready for this?
Lincoln/Phoenix: You can't possibly beat me! Even when I'm alone, I still have advantage at you.
Chandler/Aqueous: What, magic? I heard that you had severed ties with your Angel and the only magic you had left is a boost to your Sun and Fire powers. One of which you've stolen from Xander's relative. This time, I had my own improvement. I learned some magic of Atlanticism.
Lincoln/Phoenix: I'm still well-versed on both holy and demonic flames. A residue of Camael's spirit lingers in me. Don't think this'll be easy.
Chandler/Aqueous: Heh… we changed so much. You and I, but our rivalries are still there.
Lincoln/Phoenix: No… We've changed and evolved but your grudges against me is still there. Accept what happened to you and don't fear what might have been.
Thus the two boys are once again locked in combat. Meanwhile, Luna and Lori had reached the door to Atlantis. Sarah presented them to the Prince and since they are relatives, the Prince hears her pleas. At first the Prince refuse but when another space-quake occurred, Lori explained that the ordeal is her responsibility to rectify this. The prince reluctantly agrees but the problem is that the key component lies in the treasury and nobody had been able to harness its powers. He told a story, a legend that only Hermes/Mercury can only wield the known artifact.
Another Staff of Eden… the Bird of Hermes.
The prince also told that anyone that isn't worthy of its power ended up being leeched and dried up because of its immense power. Lori sensed that the power within is pure kinetic energy with bits of magicules. Not only that but within the energies it flows contains the final component… Tachyon supplies. Lori grabbed the staff but she was caught in a trance within.
-Mindscape: Shurima Sanctum, Egypt-
Lori: This is… Egypt. I literally in Egypt. Why did I got teleported.
Winged-Man: You did not. This is your mindscape and mine too. We're here to test if you're worthy of the power. [Sniffs] I can smell Cassiel's essence on you. My mentor blessed you, did he?
Lori: Who are you?
Winged-Man: Oh, pardon my rudeness. I am one of many of Egypt's pantheon that survived a war. Ra is my grandfather and one of many survivors of the Great Plagues. Sobek, Reshpu, Seth and many more died in that battle. Thoth and Nephtys are missing along with my lover Hathor and Anubis is guarding the gates of the Netherworld. Is that enough hints, woman?
Lori: Hmm. Nope, I literally still have have no clue of who you are? I didn't take Egyptology classes, sorry.
Winged-Man: *sigh* Fine, I'll introduce. I am Horus, the Egyptian lord of the air and speed. A deity as you can call. And I'm to test you if you deserve this staff.
Lori: I thought Hermes owned this staff?
Horus: He's my distant relative. A cousin. Ever since the destruction of Egypt from the Plagues and the death of my brethren from the Angels, some of us surrendered and given our position over the Olympians, the Sanctum from Greece. While we remained in Shurima in hopes of rebuilding what was lost. But that's ancient history, we're here to test you. You ready?
Lori: What test are we literally talking about? The Speed Realm had deemed me worthy!
Horus: Indeed it does, but I'm just making sure the old spear isn't rusted. I want to know if you really are worthy like how master Cassiel deemed you. The test is simple… to become like wind. If you do, you're free like the air, unbound by anything on earth. Unchained by worries and untethered by troubles. Free and fast! This will get a bit mental, physical and spiritual so I'm hoping you are prepared for this.
Lori: You know, I wanted to know more on why did Ehyeh chose Moses on freeing the slaves and stopping the tyrant Ramses.
Horus: New growth cannot be without the death of the old. The old Pharaoh wouldn't consent on liberating the Hebrews so he had to learn what evolution is like, by destroying my cousins, uncles and the rest of Egypt. Saving only those who have surrendered and allowed improvement. Now pay attention, I will attack. Make sure you evade or defend.
Horus attacked with his feather blades and daggers. He was too fast that Lori couldn't catch up. She also can't use her remaining residues or she will be completely powerless. Not only that but she got some cuts and bruises from being distracted,
Horus: You seemed not in the right mind. Why are you hesitant? Fight me and be done with it!
Lori: I can't! I literally can't okay! If I do, I'll lose what remains of the Speed Realm. If I can't save my family from this Multiverse fusion, everything will fall to ruin and my family will suffer from it.
Horus: Let it go. I told you, you must become like wind. Let go of your earthly tethers. Enter the void. Empty and become wind!
Lori: I literally can't!
Horus: Even if you save them, don't you know mortal's life is fragile yet precious!? I know you want to spend time with them and you want to prevent this crisis so you could be with them! But your fears are becoming a distraction! If you keep doing that and fail, there will be no family to save. Even if you did return the Speed Realm back to life, your worries will blind you and you'll keep getting distracted by it. In the end, you still didn't spend time with them. Let them go! Your family will have their own journey! All you can do is move forward! Stop it with trying to keep them alive and start letting them live. Survival is different from Living! Learn that!
Lori: How!?

You have to be open on other paths, not just a path dictated by your baseless worries. And besides, Nature is constantly changing… like wind. Was it Johnny Meeks? Isn't he gone? Then you're free from his grasp! Prove to me you're free! Show me you're true powers, Savitara!
Lori listened to the rants of the Egyptian lord and used the remnants of her speed to dodge and defend. She even created a tornado to disorient Horus's wings from going up and stop him from his tracks. She knew that one day, her family will grow old and start an adventure of their own. But she always loved them and knew that they'll be there for her. All she needed to do is let them go and fulfil that adventure, for she is free to join them or she is free to take her own path as well. Johnny Speed is gone and all of her grudges, all of her fears are gone along with that Negative Speedster. She is fast and she is finally… FREE!
Horus: Excellent work. You passed. I'll have to go back and find Hathor. Take the staff and do your deed. You have my blessing. And tell Cassiel my regards.
Lori found herself back to reality and the Prince let them leave with the Staff. As for Chandler and Lincoln, they brawled but the result is a draw. Sarah had scolded the Hydrokinetic husband of hers. Luna scolded her brother too but Lincoln didn't mind. He actually missed those days when they voiced out their concerns for each other.
[How it became a draw, well Lincoln used Holy Flames of Camael while Chandler, his Atlanticism ocean powers and Djinn-boosted water powers (from Djinn Sytyr and Winea)]
When the heroes went home, Cassiel got his message and was relieved that Horus is doing fine. Camael returned to Scala Ad Caelum and reported the progress to Ehyeh and Pandora. Carol Pingrey-Dalisay grew worried of her best friend but she is ready to assist in building the Artificial Speed Realm Generator. Cassiel gave an important hint, they must replicate the Big Bang that dawned Creation itself to create the realm. It required Luna's Fulgurous/Electrokinetic powers, Lincoln's Helio-Pyrokinetic powers, Carol's cybernetic enhancement from Pandora's Box Technologies and Lisa's knowledge from the Apple of Eden.
Assembling the machine, Lisa remembered the time she accidentally gave her sisters their powers. It was the same machine she built back then. Only this time, Savitara's suit was near the contraption while the Tachyon prototype (from Johnny Speed's speed bands) are placed on top of the Staff of Hermes and placed within the machine with an orb on top. The orb is a particle accelerator and required the combined strength of Luna, Lincoln and Carol. Activating the generator, Lincoln gave his thermal energy as Luna infused electricity and Carol fired beams of plasma energy towards the orb. All that is left is to harness the acceleration, by Lori wearing the suit without frying herself to dust. She took the risk without any of her worries and wore the suit. With the Tachyons now trying to course thoroughly through her veins and arteries, becoming one with the Speed Realm once more. She demonstrated the success of the machine by travelling back and forth from the Artificial Speed Realm. It worked, although time traveling is still out of commission since the creation is still in its infantile state.
The spatial quakes ceased and the antimatter paused from colliding all life into a singularity. The multitude of universes are rescued from the crisis. Although, Lori would like to use her speed to time travel and create Time Remnants or Time Reverse to extend more time to spend with her loved ones, she knew the only way to spend life freely is to be unbound of the past and earthly tethers by moving forwards… running towards the future… running like wind!

AN: I'm so sorry that it took so long. But like I promised, I upheld a new secret report. Not an April Fools joke because that occasion was canceled in my country and only the Holy Week was saved from the quarantine. Some of the reference are based on the Egyptian mythologies and the film (Gods of Egypt) with some Abrahamic (Judea-Christian or Islamic) lore like the Exodus or some mysticism. By the way, anyone here had watched the Synder Cut version of Justice League? Lemme tell you that it was freaking EPIC! I love the new version more than the old! The Synder Cut did the old version some justice (Hah! Puns!) and gave it a more appealing story and casting!
