After Gary's outstanding win against Opal, it was finally Alain'sturn against Allister but what everyone except Leon failed to realize was that Kabu and Ashlyn had also gone to the battlefield
"Ladies and Gentlemen of Galar, up next is an amazing Tag Team battle with the ever-burning man of fire and Friend to Ghost-types against Seigneur Dragon of Kalos, Alain Sycamore! and one of the rising star of Hoenn, Ashlyn Ketchum!"
"Good luck Allister and Mr. Kabu!" Ashlyn said smiling
"And please don't hold back," Alain said smirking
"I-I'll do my best," Allister said quietly
"It goes both ways, my boy" Kabu said before he and Allister went to their place on the field
"Leon you have some explaining to do," Nessa said glaring at the Champion who was now hiding behind Piers
"Well Ms. Winona commented on tag team battles in Hoenn and Kabu wanted to do it," Leon said nervously making Riley, Volkner, Winona, and Steven chuckle
"Well if that's the case Bea you wanna do that too?" Rihan asked looking at the fighting type gym leader
"If I would mot be too much trouble Ms. Winona, Mr. Volkner?" Bea asked politely
"I don't have any problems with it," Winona said smiling gently at the younger gym leader
"Sure I think that's finally the challenge I've been waiting for, " Volkner said smirking
"Hey might even get you out of your slump," Riley said before Volkner gave him a slight push
"Battle Begin!"
"Vee, I choose you!\Let's Go!" Ashlyn and Alain said before they released Espeon and Zorua
"Ninetails/Cursola go!" Kabu and Allister said as they sent out their first pokemon a fox-like, quadrupedal Pokémon covered in thick, luxurious golden-white fur. It has a small mane of thicker fur around its neck and a long, fluffy crest atop its head. It has slender legs with three-toed paws and nine, long tails with pale orange tips. It has red eyes, pointed ears, and a triangular black nose, and a coral-like Pokémon. The lower body of Cursola resembles that of Galarian Corsola, albeit broken apart to reveal an ectoplasmic "body" that has taken the shape of a ghost. This ectoplasm surrounds Cursola's core, which is a white sphere with a face like that of Galarian Corsola and has an oval-shaped opening with three inward-facing notches where the core is. Two half-circle openings similar to eyes are located above Cursola's core. Together, the three openings resemble a screaming face with a sad or pained expression. Two small branches below the core serve as its arms and one small branch on its forehead serves as a horn. It has three long branches each on both sides of the head. It has three more branch spikes on its lower back.
"Vee let's start with Calm Mind!" Ashlyn said before Vee started to glow
"Shadow Claw! on Ninetails" Alain called out before Zorua
"Ninetails use Will-O-Wisp as you evade the attack," Kabu commanded before Ninetails sent several small fireballs towards Zorua
"Cursola Shadow Ball!" Allister said before Ninetails jumped revealing Cursola who was ready to release the Shadow Ball that it was holding
"Dodge it!" both Ashlyn and Alain said at the same time before both Zorua and Vee jumped out of the way of the Attack
"Vee use Dig!" Ashlyn commanded before Vee quickly dug underground
"Cursola use Sunny Day!" Allister called out before Cursola threw a bright ball of light into the sky
"Ninetails use Solar beam!" Kabu said quickly and Ninetails did a quick Solar Beam on Zorua and revealed an amazing surprise
"W-What? When did Zorua evolve?" May asked in shock looking at the bipedal, gray-brown, fox-like Pokémon with crimson and black accents. It has a pointed snout and ears with violet insides. It also has some red rimming its eyes and mouth. It has a large, violet, voluminous mane with black tips, which somewhat resembles a ponytail, as a yellow bangle down its length separates a mass of the mane from the lower portion. It has a black ruff on its upper body, pointed at the shoulders from which its arms extend. Its upper arms are thin, whereas its lower arms, while still slim, are bulkier. The arms have spiky extensions of fur at the elbows, and it hasviolet claws on its hands and feet. Zoroark's eyes are violet-rimmed with golden irises.
"Last night when he asked to train with against Ashlyn's Gardevior," Winona said smiling
"Thought I saw something," Piers said smirking
"Guess you've raised a Zoroark before huh?" Riley said
"Yeah tricky little buggers"
"Impressive" Kabu complimented before he returned his attention to Allister who despite his mask looked excited
"Now! Vee! Hyper Beam!" Ashlyn exclaimed before surfacing and firing Hyper Beam onto Ninetails' side sending g her flying towards the stadium wall knocking her out
"Cursola five Shadow Balls!" Allister commands allowing Cursola to fire five Shadow balls onto Vee's side
"Zoroark catch Vee" Alain commands but despite Zoroark catching Vee she was already out
"That was insane" Gordie exclaimed in shock
"Ah looks like Kabu isn't holding back at all," Devon said as he walked into the Gym leader's stands
"Just how strong is Otuo-san?" Bea asked
"Well let's just say that he took on Drake who was still the Hoenn champion at the time and won," Devon said smirking
"We have a Gym leader who used to be a Champion?" Nessa asked in shock
"Well you don't really use Mega Evolution, which allows for increased speed compared to your Gigantimax Pokemon, " Winona said also smirking
"Pikachu lets go, " Ashlyn said before Pikachu ran down from her shoulder
"Centiskorch Go!" Kabu said before he threw ina flat, centipede-like Pokémon. It is red, with yellow and orange circles alongside each section and the opposite side, and all of the legs and the mandible are a darker shade of red. The head has an orange mark in the shape of an exclamation mark on the top, two bright yellow eyes with triangular red pupils, and orange-ish flames, simulating antennae. Its telson at the end is also made out of flames.
"Zoroark use Dark pulse on Cursola!" Alain said before Zoroark tried to send dark energy to Cursola only to see several flaming gems his way and at the same Cursola and Zoroark both got knocked out
"You're stronger than you let on Allister" Alain complemented smiling before he sent out his Salamence
"Th-thank you o-otuo-san helped me," Allister said as he sent outa composed of an oblong, irregularly-shaped clay slab, with an outline of a stylized serpent with sharp teeth painted onto it in red. Two sections of the slab at the upper left and upper right side, along with a piece bearing the serpent's head and a small piece bearing the tip of the image's tail, have broken off and are held in place by shadowy black tendrils that form its arms, neck, and tail respectively; the "tail" fragment also resembles the piece carried by. It has five black fingers on each hand, which extend from the ends of the fragments forming its arms. It has a single purple eye located in the same spot as the painting's eye.
"Looks like we'll have to work harder huh, Alain?" Ashlyn said smirking
"Definitely," Alain said smirking
"Pikachu onto Salamence's back!" she commanded before Pikachu did as he was told as Salamence flew up
"Dragon Pulse, Salamence!"
"Pikachu use Electro Ball!" Ashlyn said before both Pokemon launched their respective attacks creating a powerful Electric- Dragon-type combination
"Runerigus use Rock Tomb"
"Centiskorch Protect!"
The defensive combination managed to take most of the attack protecting Runerigus and Centiskorch from most of the attacks combined power but they still managed to take some damage although they managed to follow up with a powerful offensive combination of Shadow Claw and Fire Lash Damaging Pikachu and Salamence quite a lot
"Holy Heck this is crazy!" Gordie exclaimed in shock
"Come now, this is as surprising as Raihan and Leon's small crush on Piersie," Melony said making both Raihan and Leon blush but luckily Max and May were talking to Piers and Opal effectively distracting the aforementioned Dark-type singer
"Kabu is no pushover son. In fact, the only person who has ever defeated him before him moving here was Winona's mother and Ashlyn's father" Devon said smiling softly
"He's still a legend in Hoenn even after he left," Steven said smiling "Tag Team battles are his specialty still remember how ruthless he and aunt Ara could get"
"You if we ever have a tournament like this let's try not to have Kabu team up with Allister, they are terrifying," Raihan said as he witnessed Allister and Kabu pull off another really powerful combination that could have destroyed the stadium if not for the Dynamax barriers
"Pikachu use Surf!"
"Salamence Draco Meteor!"
"Centiskorch use Fire Blast!"
"Runerigus use Stone Edge!"
"Ladies and Gentlemen both side's pokemon are unable to battle. Please send out your last Pokemon!"
"Garchomp/Flygon let's go!"
"Gengar/Blaziken Go!"
"When did Allister get a shiny Gengar?" Nessa asked Bea who just shrugged
"He caught it as a Haunter in Spikemuth about three months ago," Piers said smirking
"Way it has a necklace on it?" Milo said making everyone look
"Hm finally using it huh old friend," Devon thought smirking
"I figured that Garchomp's Sand Veil ability could help us," Alain thought
"At least this could help obscure their vision," Ashlyn thought before she decided to attack first "Flygon use Dragon Pulse!"
"Garchomp use Flamethrower to help boost Flygon's attack! "Alain said before both pokemon did as they were told only to hit a barrier made by Gengar while Blaziken was setting up with Swords Dance
"Gengar use Dark Pulse!/Blaziken use Flare Blitz! " Allister and Kabu said at the same time resulting in a Flare Blitz attack with several dark flames in it, hitting both dragon types injuring them a bit
"Well that was certainly a strong combination if I've ever seen one," Ashlyn said her voice failing to hide her excitement
"I know and I think this the right time to Mega Evolve, wouldn't you say?" Alain asked as he fiddled with his Mega Bracelet
"I couldn't agree with you more" Ashlyn agreed smiling reaching for her Mega Locket
"Well It seems as though the fun is just about to start," Kabu told Allister who smiled excitedly behind his mask
"Gengar" Allister called out confidently
"Mega Evolve!" All four trainers exclaimed before all four mega stones and four keystones started glowing and emitting their respective colored tendrils of light when the glowing stopped one the field was a Mega Blaziken that looked quite older and more experienced than May's, A Mega Gengar, a portion of its body which was now a ghostly white sink into the ground and its arms and tail lengthen. The lower portions turn a more light purple, and a third eye appears on its forehead. Its eyes are now a striking purple that seemed to glow eerily. The spikes on Mega Gengar's back are more numerous and pointed, and additional spikes appear on its hands and tail. Its ears are now considerably longer and tilt backward.
Mega Garchomp, which now has several of his features become more angular, including his head and shoulders. A row of five tooth-like spikes sprouts from each side of his abdomen and red spikes grow from his knees. The claws and fins on its arms melt from the excessive Mega Evolution energy and morph together to form sharp, red blades and finally, Mega Flygon, who now had three sharp-pointed wings, it also looked as if she had gained strong armor around her head, the base of her neck, arms, claws, legs, and tail
"I never knew that Flygon was capable of Mega Evolution," Steven said thoughtfully
"When did your sister even have time to find a Mega Stone for Flygon?" Volkner asked
"We have no idea," Max said before he thought back to when they first met Flygon "I think Flygon was the one who found it in Forina"
"Could be" May said before she turned her attention back to the match that was already getting really heated
"Flygon Counter Shield using Dragon Claw and Dragon Dance!" Ashlyn said before Flygon started knocking back or destroying the Aura Sphere and Shadow Ball combination that Kabu and Allister used
"Garchomp use Dragon Breath!" Alain said before Garchomp hit Blaziken with the Dragon-Type attack
"Both Flygon and Garchomp are tired, What can we do to-. Alain, I have an idea," Ashlyn said before Alain leaned in to listen better
"That could actually work," Alain said before they both nodded
"Flygon/Garchomp use Dragon Pulse! and hold on to them," both trainers said before both Pokemon did as they were told, "Now eat it!"
"WHAT?!!?" almost all the Galar Gym Leaders along with May, Gary, and Max exclaimed in shock
"First a counter shield and now this, She's adapting more of you everyday Win," Steven said smiling
"Oh no I could never have thought of this," Winona said smiling " That's purely Ashlyn"
"Interesting" Kabu praised as Allister looked on in awe much like the majority of the audience
"A-amazing" Allister said
"It surely is, " Kabu said smirking along with his Blaziken when both Garchomp and Flygon roared showing just how powerful they got
"Let's go all out the Allie," Kabu said smirking
"Y-Yes!" Allister said as their Pokemon got into better fighting positions
"Let's give it our all," Ashlyn said smiling widely
"Right," Alain said also smiling widely
"I can't believe that my baby cousin is growing up so fast, " Volkner said his eyes tearing up
"I know what you mean still remember when she was still a little girl, clinging onto uncle Red," Riley said also having teary eyes
"Well children do grow even when we just want time to stop," Melony said smiling gently at both young men
"I guess your right ms. Melony" Volkner said
"Gengar use Sunny Day!" Allister said before Gengar shot a ball of light to the sky canceling the sand storm caused by Garchomp's Sand Veil ability
"Blaziken use Solar Beam!" Kabu said before his Blaziken charged up, one of the fastest Solar Beams anyone had ever seen
"Alain I think I have just the combination to end this" Ashlyn said before she whispered into Alain's ear again
"Right then" he said nodding
"Flygon use Draco Meteor!"
"Salamence fly above the attack then use Dragon Pulse to strengthen it"
Once the combination was unleashed it took no time at all for Blaziken and Gengar to fall unconsious but due to the attack not stopping Flygon swooped in and used Protect to avoid Blaziken and Gengar fom getting hurt even more. After that was the Exhibition battle against Winona and Volkner vs Raihan and Bea. Winona and Volkner won easily against Bea's whole team and even two of Raihan's pokemon with Winona's Corviknight and Volkner's Alolan Raichu but Raihan's Flygon and Duraludon proved too much for Volkner and soon it became a head to head battle with Winona winning by just a small margin thanks to her Altaria who was mega evolved and learned Fire Blast last minute adn finally Steven vs Leon ended up as a draw
the last combination I read from an advanceshipping fanfic i cant remeber the name but yeah this chapter really was influenced by my friends who really wanted to add on some of their ideas and I just found most of them intreging so here it is sorry to skip on the other battles but I wanted to move to the next chapter in Alola
