Chapter 28: Together… Like a Family

*Hikari, Levy, and Angel are standing in a circle over the book in silence for a few seconds. Hikari rushes out of the room quickly followed by Levy, leaving Angel and the book in the room*

"Hikari wait! Wait!"

"Can't. There's no telling how far they've gone in their plan, or what their plan even is. We have-!", Hikari responds as an earthquake knocks them off their feet. Levy stands up, rubbing her lower back, "Will that shaking ever stop?"

Hikari grabs Levy by the shoulder and points out the near by window. Levy looks up in shock as the moon slowly begins to turn red. The moonlight fills the room, giving the room a red tint. Hikari gasps as they stare up at the moon, "Hikari, what does this mean?" "I-I'm not sure," Hikari responds, "I just hope they're ready for whatever comes next." Tears well up in Levy's eyes, "Mavis, please guide them."

*Meanwhile in the jungle*

Duo is undoing the ropes holding Brazz., "That was some technique you just used. Never seen one like it." Duo shrugs, "It's an unconventional move, but it gets the job done." Brazz looks at Duo, confusion in his eyes, "Why didn't you start with that?" "Besides some unknown factor making me weaker, that attack drains most of my magic. If I don't think it'll finish…" Duo responds, trailing off to let Brazz put the pieces together.

"What happens if you use it and don't have enough left?"

There is a long silence as Duo finishes untying the ropes. As he finishes, Silvia and Yuka rush into the room looking exhausted. Brazz scoffs, "God, what happened to you two?" Silvia manages to respond, "Nothing… we couldn't… handle." Brazz approaches Silvia and Yuka, "Hey sis, can you make some water?"

Silvia nods and a small orb of water appears in her hands. Brazz shapes the water around his hands, then places a hand on both her and Yuka. The water glows as their wounds begin to heal. After a few seconds, they are noticeably refreshed. Silvia comments, "I didn't know you had healing touch too."

Brazz sighs before responding, "I don't. I'm only able to redirect the energy in your water as well as mom's, which is why I needed you to make the water."Silvia nods and starts walking towards Duo, "Now it's time to treat some of your wounds."

Before she can get to him the room begins to violently shake. Yuka squeaks, "What's going on!?" Red light begins to pour in from the hole Duo created when he launched Luke. Duo grunts in response, "Whatever it is, it probably won't be good for us." The glow intensifies as the pyramid is engulfed in a vortex of purple energy.

*Meanwhile in the desert, inside the pyramid*

Jarvan is looking around frantically, "Big bro, what's going on?!" Jasper yells over the rumbling of the pyramid, "I DON'T KNOW BUT HOLD ON!" Purple light fills the room.

*Meanwhile in the mountains*

Raiu and Namika are arguing over the dead body of the giant as Junshi giggles and Roagan stares blankly at his teammates as purple light fills the room.

*Meanwhile in the café*

Aria and Akiko are looking over Marco and Lokore, who are laying on the floor passed out. From behind them, purple light begins to creep in and fill the room.

*Outside the hounds' den, Lucio and Roxina are guiding the last of the people out as a wave of purple light spews out. Before the wave consumes them, Lucio and Roxina hold hands*

…..

The landscape is now completely different. There are floating platforms that are made of red earth. Thousands of feet below, a void of purple waves lies in wait. The sky is a dark crimson and obscured by pitch black clouds. Occasional thunder and lightning strike from the clouds. Roxina sits up, rubbing her neck as she looks around.

"Roxina!"

She turns around to see Kaizer and Gin rushing towards her. Roxina cracks a small smile, "Glad to see you guys are alright. Any idea where we are?" Both Kaizer and Gin shake their heads. Gin frowns, "Last thing I remember is Kaizer beating the head hellhound, then this mysterious purple light, and now we're… here."

"Same thing with us. A purple light, then here," Roxina says as she continues to look around. She stops, "By the way, have you guys seen Lucio?" Both boys point to the ground. Roxina's brow furrows as she looks down and sees she is sitting on his face. Her face flushes bright red before she screams, jumping to her feet as she adjusts her glasses.

The group starts walking together. After some time passes, they run into Jarvan who is carrying his team on his shoulders. A few seconds later, Roagan walks up holding his team the same way as Jarvan, which makes Jarvan cut a glance at him. The next group to find the group is Akiko's, with Aria carrying Marco and Lokore.

Duo's group is the last to find everyone, with their leader asking the important question, "Anybody have any idea where we are?" Jasper is first to respond, "If my calculations are correct, we must be in a different dimension." Akiko raises an eyebrow, "That doesn't make sense." "Actually, that's not crazy. You remember the bedtime story mother use to tell us? About when they visited a world with no magic? Seems we're in a similar situation," the elder Dragneel sibling responds. Raiu rolls her eyes, "That's great and all, but does anyone know where this is?"Gin adds, "Better question: how do we get home?"

"I can answer all your questions."

The group turns and sees Luke in a more battle-ready outfit. Her features look more wolf-like and seem to be increasing by the minute. Luke snarls, "This, my dear fools, is The Underworld! The place where beasts and monsters go once they have been killed. That's why I stand in front of you now, dragon slayer."

Duo steps forward, "Okay. Why here? What's the purpose of your plan?" Luke waves her arms around, "Look around you, what do you see? A whole lot of nothing. We want what you guys have… freedom." Kaizer smirks, "I guess we'll just have to beat you, since we clearly outnumber you."

Luke snickers, "How very bold of you to assume I came alone." Luke raises her hands, and several platforms rise from the void, each one with a monster that the groups recently beat. The groups look on in amazement as shadow soldiers start to surround the group. Lucio's eyes dart around, "It seems we're outnumbered 3,000 to 1."

Jarvan tightens his fist, "I like these odds."Suddenly, all the soldiers and monsters groans, "Oh come on, what now!?" Luke smiles,"Our master awakens!"In the middle of all the platforms, a sarcophagus arises. It creeps open and out comes a demon mummy. He lets out a roar, shaking the world.

Duo glances away from the mummy for a second and Luke's claws grab him by the face. "Care for a round 2, dragon slayer," Luke asks as she and Duo disappear in a purple shadow soldiers close in on the group.

Marco sighs, "Well it's been a pleasure fighting with you guys." This draws a scoff out of Lokore, "Speak for yourself. I can think of at least a hundred better ways to die." Everyone prepares to fight, a noticeable slack in their fighting stances from their continuous fights. Faintly, a shout of joy can be heard that is getting louder and louder.

Tia is the first to look up, "Um, anybody else hear that?"From the sky, a huge fireball crashes down and causes a huge explosion that takes out several squads of soldiers. In the smoke, a tall and muscular figure with glowing red eyes and spiky hair rises.

"Heh, is this all your generation has? Back in our heyday, we would have cleaned these has-beens' clocks."

Akiko's eyes seem to shine as she looks at the figure, "Hey, I know that voice!"Kaizer's eyes widen in realization and irritation, "Oh god, not him…"Out of the smoke comes Natsu Dragneel, one of the most respected and feared mages of all time.

Natsu looks at Akiko and Kaizer, smiling softly, "If both of my kids are working together, this must be a serious threat."Natsu looks at the army, snickering as he starts emitting a burning aura, "Listen, I don't know what's going on, who you are, or what you're planning, but I don't care. Anyone who threatens my family has to deal with me."Natsu flexes and the aura intensifies making the shadow soldiers step back. The group looks on in amazement, except Kaizer who glares Natsu's way in frustration.

'Every time, it's always like this with him. Natsu protectively stands in front of a young Kaizer, his aura blazing just as strong. Always behind him, always in his shadow.'

Kaizer walks forward, as he does his own blazing aura begins to flow. 'But not anymore. I will stand in his shadow no longer!' Kaizer slowly changes into his God Force mode. By the time he is standing next to Natsu, he is fully in God Force. Natsu looks over at him but does not show any change in emotion, "I heard Gray was working on a secret project, guess I get to see his work first-hand."

Seeing those two standing next to each other flips a switch in Raiu, 'These two are risking their lives protecting us, protecting me. Raiu sees herself and Laxus hugging in his office. No.' The thunder and lightning move closer and strike more often as Raiu walks over to stand on the other side of Natsu. Lightning strikes her as she shifts into her Dragon Force, 'I made a promise to protect those I love, and that's a promise I plan to keep.'

Roxina shakes her head, 'This is exactly why I joined the Council. All this power with no restrictions only leads to chaos.' Roxina stands next to Kaizer and takes off her glasses. Her hair turns a dark crimson and her eyes begin to glow, "It's time to put Pandora back in her box." The energy Roxina emits is fluctuating in color.

Junshi stares at the four mages in amazement, 'Wow grandfather was right…there are mighty warriors outside the village.'

*Flashback*

Junshi is training with many other kids far bigger than her. She is excelling in every exercise, which is led by an old man with a long beard that is barely taller than her. After the training is over, all the kids have left except Junshi who is mopping the dojo. She peeks behind a door and sees her master sipping tea with Jura Neekis of the wizard council.

"My how the times have changed. I still remember the days when I trained here," Jura comments. The master chuckles, "Oh ho ho! That was a long time ago, back when this *points to his beard* was up here *points to his bald head*." They both laugh before Jura's tone becomes thoughtful, "Still times have indeed changed, and it is time for the next generation to take center stage." The master responds, "Ah yes. Speaking of which, your reason for being here." He cuts a glance at the door and Junshi hides hoping not to be seen.

"JUNSHI!"

She winces and walks in before bowing. The master waves his hand, "Relax, you're not in trouble. This man here is Jura, a former Wizard Saint, and now a lead member of the wizard council." Jura stands up and walks over to her. The man is towering over the small girl, "So she's the one you told me about?"

The master nods, "Yes her power is astounding. I haven't seen anyone as skilled or progress as fast since… well you." Junshi stands straight and Jura squats down to her level. Junshi smiles and Jura's eyes widen, "You're really strong mister! We should spar sometime."

'Poor boy he has no idea,' the master thinks, as he sees Junshi's aura towering over Jura's, the same way he towers over her. "Junshi, this is one of my former pupils. He came here because I told him about you. He has a proposition for you, isn't that right Jura?" Jura blinks a few times, "Uh yes, right. How would you like to travel the world?"

Junshi's eyes sparkle, her mouth opening in awe, "I-Is it alright to leave?" The master nods, "Yes, of course. I groom all my students to leave eventually. There is only so much I can teach, and some lessons can only be learned from fighting tough enemies." Jura puts his hand out, "That's what I'm here for. I am giving you the offer to join a guild where you're not only going to meet strong people but go on adventures and fight all sorts of tough opponents. Only if you want to, of course."

Junshi hesitates, then takes Jura's hand.

*Flashback end*

Junshi stomps forward and stands next to Raiu. She gets in her stance and green energy starts whipping around her. Natsu looks around him before smiling, "That's what I like to see, I'm all fired up! You four take out the generals, the freaky mummy is all mine."

Akiko steps forward to say something but Jasper stops her, "Let them go, we need to take care of the foot soldiers." Akiko's eyes twitch, "Are you insane? These guys were impossible to beat back on our turf, with multiple people fighting! What makes you think they have any chance without us!?"

Jasper pushes his glasses up, "Because the data says so. The council has been compiling a list of all the wizards in our generation. On that list, the top seven have been given the nickname 'The Seven Archangels of Destruction'. Standing before us we have: number 6, Roxina 'Dragon Eyes' Redfox; number 5, 'The Heavenly Executioner' Kaizer Dragneel; number 4, 'The Lightning Beast' Raiu Dreyar; number 3, Junshi Yukama 'The Zodiac Fighter'."

Akiko sighs, "Alright, if the council has that much faith…I guess I will to. By the way who's number 1 and 2?"Jasper snickers, "Come on Akiko, you're a smart girl. Isn't it obvious? Number 1 has to go to the behemoth in your guild that swings that sword."

*In the Fairy Tail infirmary, Simon sneezes loudly. Wendy walks over*

Wendy looks at Simon, confusion and amusement in her eyes, "Huh that's strange. I could've sworn your cold was gone."

*Somewhere in The Underworld*

"And the number two spot is also one of your wizards."

Luke is flying in the air with an unconscious Duo trapped in her claw. His eyes pop open and are glowing red, glaring through the claw. In one fluid motion, he grabs and twists Luke's arm. Luke's grip slips, and Duo swings from the arm and is about to land on her back. He kicks down with tremendous force sending them crashing to the ground, kicking up rubble and a thick smoke cloud. Purple eyes pierce through one side of the smoke.

Luke steps out from the smoke in her full Werewolf form. "Let's finish this once and for all," Luke says, gnashing her howls, dispersing some of the smoke and shaking the platform."Yes. It is about time we finished this," Duo growls, his glowing red eyes shining through the walks forward in his full armor mode.

"Number 2: Gajeel Redfox the Second, also known as: Duo, the Steel Demon."
