Ok. Here we goo!

Percy:

We were finishing up recording the songs that we wrote a few weeks ago. Our friends already composed the music and Annabeth and I were recording the lyrics.

As we were finishing, Piper ran into the studio room in haste.

She was panting from all the exercise.

"What? What? What happened?" Annabeth asked, panicking.

"The Annual Olympus Gala is back on!" She squealed. Okaaay.

I looked at Annabeth to see her expressions change from panic to excitement.

"That's so great! Luke already asked me to the Gala. The one next year. We could finally go this year!" She clapped her hands.

Um. Hello? I'm still here.

Annabeth rarely notices me these days. We couldn't even talk to each other. I mean, it's been a week since I was sick and we never really had an actual conversation.

She's either up in her room or recording the songs or with Luke.

I think she's starting to actually ignore me.

The girls hug each other as if they won the lottery. Really. What's the big deal?

Suddenly, Annabeth's phone rings and she reads the Caller ID.

"It's Luke. He probably heard about the Gala too!" She says happily and walks out of the room.

Hmph. I'm sad, I guess.

I didn't want this to happen. I shouldn't have waited too long because now Annabeth's not waiting anymore. She already moved on.

Piper must have noticed my sad expression and patted my shoulder.

"Lost your chance, buddy." She said before leaving me alone.

I guess I'm better off alone.

Annabeth:

"Wait, when's the gala again?" I asked.

"It's on New Year's Eve," Cally answered from the couch.

"But that's years away!" I whined. I was really looking forward to the Gala.

"No, it isn't. It's only a month away." Piper answered.

I huffed.

I got a text. From Luke.

hey.

hey.

whatcha doing?

just finished recording songs with Percy. You?

nothing.

so, since we're both free..

let's go on a picnic?

sure!

Was the exclamation point unnecessary? Does it seem as if I'm too eager? I shook my head. Girl, get a grip.

I looked up from my phone to see the girls staring at me with knowing smiles.

"What?" I asked, just realising that I had a stupid smile on my face.

"Nothing." They chorused.

Luke was a really nice guy-

My phone pinged again. It was Luke.

when are we gonna meet again? I miss you.

huh?

Oh. shoot. sorry that wasn't for you.

oh. okay...

That was suspicious. But I shook it off. It was probably for his mom or something. I'm being paranoid.

Luke was a nice guy, as I was saying. He's always taking me to someplace or the other. Because most of the time he's working or at his house, working.

But lately, he's being distant.

Oh, come on, Annabeth. It's only been two weeks since you started dating, he's probably busy.

Yeah. Probably.

Unless he's cheating on you-

Stop. Luke isn't that type of guy.

I shook those unreasonable thoughts from my head. Don't mess things up, Annabeth.

Everything is absolutely perfect.

Percy:

"So, what's up, Perce?" Rachel's voice asked from the phone. We broke up. Yeah. We both decided that it was better if we were friends.

"Nothing," I said.

"Oh." She seemed distracted. She was probably painting.

"Wait- then why the heck did you call me?" She asked, annoyed.

"I don't know. I just wanted to talk, since it's been a while." I answered.

"Hmm." She said, still distracted.

"You painting?" I asked.

"Hmm? Oh- Yeah." She answered.

This was awkward.

"So how are things?"

"Cool. Great." She said.

"Yeah."

"Is it just me or this conversation awkward?" Rachel asked. Count on her to speak her mind.

"Nah. I think it's awkward too." A pause followed.

"Uh- Percy?"

"Yeah?"

"I've got to go. We'll talk later, bye!" She said and cut the call before I could say bye.

Well, things are certainly back to normal. Except, the fact that Annabeth is still dating Luke.

And I swear if he hurts her, in any way, he's going to regret it.

There we go. Chapter 30 folks.

I didn't want to focus too much on the breakup of Perachel OR the getting together of Lukabeth.

Y'all would probably kill me if I wrote a chapter about Luke and Annabeth.
