CH 30
"Jack, let's go down to that café there, I'm hungry"
"Sure, since it is lunch time"
They stopped where his truck was and put some more money into it before he pushed Sam down to where the café was. Jack let Sam chose what she wanted then he got himself some lunch. After it was paid for, Sam managed to wheel herself over to a table with Jack behind her.
He put the tray down, then he moved a chair out of the way for Sam, then he pushed the chair closer to the table, then he sat down across from her. They talked while enjoying their lunch. When Jack finished his, he sat back watching Sam eating her large lunch. When she finished eating, he and Lantash could tell that she was happy.
A few minutes later they left the café and walked back to his truck. Once in, they headed to the mall. When they got there, they did some shopping for a few hours, and while there, Sam needed to go to the rest room twice in that time. When they returned back to the truck, it was almost five o'clock. Once they were in, Sam cell phone rang.
"It's SGC" then she answered it.
"Carter… yes… what happened… ok, we will be there soon as we can" then she hung up and turned to Jack.
"Computers crashed; they're on backup till I get there"
"Ok, well, you better give Dad a call"
"Ok" then she called her father to let him know what was happening.
When finished and she hung up, Sam closed her eyes and relaxed. When they got to the mountain and the truck was parked, Jack gently woke Sam up.
"Sam, sweetheart" Sam opened her eyes and looked around.
"I must have dozed off"
"Yeah, come on, let's see which egg head screwed up your computer this time" Sam smiled.
"Sounds good to me, and then get something to eat"
"Sure" Jack got out of the truck, then he got the wheelchair while Sam slowly got out and into the wheelchair.
Once in and the truck locked up, they headed to the first checkpoint. A few minutes later they were at the bottom of the steps which lead up to the control room.
"Major Carter, is everything alright?" the lieutenant asked.
"I got a call that the computers crashed"
"Not here, everything is running alright"
"So no problems?"
"No ma'am"
"Ok, thanks" then she turned to Jack.
"Well, since we are here, we might as well go and get something to eat"
"Sounds good to me… we should call Dad"
"We better"
They walked down to where one of the phones were where Jack called Jacob. Sam was relieved to know that her father was ok. When Jack hung up he looked at Sam.
"Come on, let's go and get something to eat, then early night for you"
"Sounds like a good idea to me"
Jack pushed Sam down to where the mess hall was. When they got there, there weren't many about, so Jack pushed Sam over to one of the tables while he got them some dinner, then returned with a tray for Sam, then he went and got his own, then returned and sat across from her.
"What did Dad say when you spoke to him?"
"He said he will see us tomorrow, he was going around to Hammond for dinner tonight"
"Ok, so what do you want to do tomorrow?"
"Well, I don't know, anything could happen between know and then"
"True"
They talked for the next fifteen minutes till they finished their dinner, then Jack got up and walked over and picked up another tray and he put desserts on it while Sam sorted out the trays that were on the table.
When he returned and put the tray on the table, Sam smiled when she saw jello, cake, and other sweet desserts. She picked up a spoon and blue jello, then the started eating it while Jack picked up red jello and spoon. They talked some more while eating their dessert.
When finished with the jello, Jack fed Sam then himself with cake, pie and other sweets. But Sam had three feeds to his one. When finished and done with their drinks, Jack took care of the trays before he and Sam left to go to their quarters for the night. Jack helped Sam to get changed and into bed before he joined her.
They watched some TV for a while when Jack noticed Sam was sleeping, so he gave her a kiss then returned back to the movie. When it was over, he turned the TV and light off before snuggling up to Sam's side and closing his eyes and falling asleep minute later.
The next morning Jack and Sam showered together like they had been since they had been together. After they showered, they did the same thing every morning before breakfast. When they were in the mess hall, Jack got them their breakfast, then he returned with a tray full of food. They talked while eating for the next half-hour. When finished, they went to see General Hammond who was in his office.
"General"
"Colonel, Major, how are you this morning?"
"Fine, thanks sir, is there anything for us to do today?"
"Yes, Colonel, the Tok'ra new base is set up; you can go with the Tok'ra and help them and find out what they need if they need anything"
"Yes sir, what about Dad?"
"He is busy and can't make it… good news is Mark and the family were beamed back to their house last night thanks to Thor"
"That's good to know, how are things on Endora, sir?" Sam asked.
"The Tok'ra who got the DHD will be there in few days, and we will be sending supplies to them in three hours"
"Ok, is there anything for me to do, sir?" Sam asked.
"SG11 returned with a device; Dr McKay wanted to have a look at it, I said no and that you would be looking at it this morning"
"Thanks, sir" Sam said smiling.
"If there is nothing else you're dismissed… Colonel, the Tok'ra leave within the hour"
"Yes sir, come on, Sam you got a new doohickie to play with" he said when he pushed the wheelchair out of the office.
Jack pushed Sam down to her lab. He stayed there and watched Sam look over the box till Lantash told him that it was time to go.
"Sam, I better go and gear up"
"Ok Jack, see you and Lantash when you return" he gave her a kiss.
"Jack, remember, don't put your foot in your mouth" he smiled.
"I'll try not to, Lantash will make sure of that"
"Good" then he gave her a kiss before he walked out of the door, leaving Sam with the device.
Hours later Sam managed to wheel herself into the mess hall for a snack; she looked at what they got, when one of the majors who was just about to leave walked over to her.
"Major Carter, need any help with anything?"
"Yes thanks, blue jello, peaches, chocolate donuts with sprinkles, pumpkin pie and two slices of chocolate; thanks"
"Sure, kids must be hungry" Sam smiled.
"They are" He got what Sam wanted and put them on the tray.
"Where do you want to go?"
"Over here, thanks" Sam wheeled herself over to a table.
The major followed till Sam stopped, he put the tray down and moved one of the chairs out of the way for her.
"Thanks"
"Your welcome; enjoy your snack"
"Thanks" then he turned around and walked out of the door. Sam started eating her snack knowing the kids will be happy.
That afternoon Jack returned from the Tok'ra new base. He talked to General Hammond for ten minutes before leaving to have a shower and went to have his post ops. After that he went down to Sam's lab. When he walked in her lab Sam was doing some tests. She finished what she was doing then she put everything away then turned around and smiled.
"Hungry?" she asked.
"Yes, you?"
"Yep, so shall we, then afterwards I'll be needing a nap"
Jack pushed the wheelchair out of Sam's lab and down to the mess hall. When they got there, they looked at what was there. Sam told Jack what she was in the mood for so he got what she wanted then took it over to a table for her, then he went and got his lunch then joined her. They talked about the Tok'ra new base and how they were all settling in, the talk he had with Garshaw to find out what the council wanted to talk to him and Sam about.
"She said to wait till after our kids are born"
"Well you did try"
"I know"
They talked about the house and what they wanted to do for the next half an hour. When they finished, Jack wheeled Sam into their quarters and helped Sam into the bathroom and then onto their bed. He watched her sleep for few minutes before leaving her sleep. He went to see what Daniel was up to since he heard that Daniel had returned back from Abydos.
When Jack walked into Daniel's lab, he stopped, then quietly walked out again closing the door behind him, since he had walked in to see Daniel and Sha're in one another arms kissing. So he decided to go into town and buy Sam her favorite sweets since she was out of chocolates, candies and other sweets.
While he was in town he went to buy some more baby things for the nursery then take them home. When he was driving down towards home he noticed when he was close to the house that there were trucks, vans and cars all on the front lawn, so he slowed down to see what was going on.
What he saw shocked both him and Lantash; there were over two hundred men and women building extenuations onto the house, for what he could see it was almost finished and the house had doubled in size. So he decided to head back to the base without them knowing that he seen the house. On his way back his cell phone rang, so he pressed 'talk'.
"O'Neill"
"Jack, where are you?" Sam asked.
"In town, getting your craving sweet snacks since you're almost out" he knew she would be smiling.
"Well, I'm out now," she said giggling.
"Hey, what have I told you about giggling, Major" which made her giggle more.
"Jack"
"Yes Sam"
"Are you near any KFC outlets?"
"Yes, what do you want?"
"Chicken"
"Ok, anything else?"
"You" then she giggled.
"Funny… ok how many pieces do you want?"
"A barrel"
"Ok, it will be cold when I return"
"I know what I want"
"Ok, what sort… XTC?"
"Yes, thanks"
"Ok, sweetheart, I'll be back in about twenty minutes, will you be in the lab?"
"Nope, in bed waiting"
"Ok, see you soon, love you"
"Love you too" then they hung up.
Jack went through the drive through to get what Sam wanted. He brought two barrels of chicken and vanilla milk shake. Once he got them and paid for them he drove back to the mountain while drinking his milk shake. When he drove to the car park he saw Sam there waiting for him.
After he parked his truck and got out, he opened the back door to pick up the bags just as Sam wheeled herself over to him.
"Need a hand?"
"Na, I got it"
Jack picked up the bags and hung them up on the handles he went to put the bag that got one of the barrels of chicken in it when Sam grabbed it. Jack looked at her and let go.
"You must be hungry"
"I am"
Jack watched Sam open the top and pick up a piece and start eating it, he and Lantash could tell that she was happy. Then he got the other bags out including the second bag with the barrel of chicken in it. When Sam saw it her smile gotten even bigger.
"Another one for me?"
"Us Sam, Lantash wants to try it"
"Oh… sorry, what else have you been buying?"
"I'll show you in our quarters, how did you get out of bed without any help?"
"Janet came and helped me after I found out that you weren't on the base, and since the kids were starting to get cranky, I decided to come up and wait for you"
"Ok, so how long where you waiting for me?"
"Few minutes"
"Ok, how are the kids now?"
"Happy now"
