Content warning: mental breakdown, swearing, amalgamation-esque body horror*

Also, shoutout to Imagine Dragons and their song "Battle Cry." It helped me figure out the mood and pacing of this chapter, which helped me complete this chapter after weeks of being stuck!

* Warning: I will be bringing up horror imagery as an example in this long explanation.

Hello. I know this seems sudden, but I wanted to make an Author's note exclusively to warn about something in the upcoming chapters, including this one.

Basically, while I was writing these chapters last month, I was on a Writing Spree and I starting adding details about a certain type of content. But now that I've had some time to think about it, I've realized that this detailed thing I added into these chapters is something I have never warned about in the summary/description's list of content warnings, and now I worry that this thing I wrote is unexpected and something the readers would rather not see, so I greatly apologize for that.

Hence why I am writing this to warn my readers in advance of what I have just written in Chapters 30-34.

*ahem*

One of the things that will occur in Chapters 30-34 will be amalgamation-esque body horror.
Yup, there's gonna be amalgamation-esque body horror.

If you've read the previous RRFF chapters, you may have noticed that I describe things in a concise, non-graphic way. So I hope my description is tame and not too creepy. But I think I might as well give a warning.

WARNING! Horror imagery examples mentioned below

If you want a scope/reference, here is a list of other amalgamation-esque body horror examples that are similar in content/intensity to what RRFF will have:

- The goopy-like/melting characters or Amalgamates from Undertale
- Forced fusions
- Body horror fanarts of Imposters from Among Us
- Whatever nightmare fuel ideas you have about Hypno Steve if you're someone who spends too much time thinking about Hypno Steve
- The Blue Straggler AU (if you follow my Steve Saga AUs on my Tumblr account)
- The "New Mutants" movie poster of a bunch of screaming faces beneath a white surface

Honestly, if you don't like the image of melting or combined faces, and/or the image of a distressed face merging and submerging from a surface (like a head or wall), then I recommend being cautious when reading RRFF (or maybe not read the next chapters until a trusted friend can read chapters for you and confirm if it's ok enough to not make you uncomfortable)

Again, I feel like RRFF might be tame and maybe cartoon-y in its body horror description, but again, I wanted to give a huge forewarning.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Memory followed the aura of Galaxy until he finally located a brand new island. He teleported there and spotted Alex a distance away, shaking her unconscious friend. "Come on, Galaxy! Please wake up!"

Galaxy groaned and opened his eyes. "Al-Alex?" He slowly got up and gave a weak smile. "Alex, you're not gonna believe the dream I had and – "

Alex tackled him with a hug. "I missed you!"

Galaxy laughed and hugged back. "I-I missed you too?"

Memory stalked forward, purposely making his footsteps loud.

Galaxy flinched. When he noticed the masked Steve, his glowing freckles dimmed and his smile fell. "So it wasn't a nightmare after all..."

Memory summoned a glowing bow. He reveled in how Galaxy shuddered. "Go on. Faint again. I know this is too much for you."

Alex grabbed Galaxy and forced him to look back at her. "No, Galaxy, you'll be ok! Don't faint. You have to run!"

"But – "

"No, it's not cowardly! You'll be helping us if you run and – AAH!"

"ALEX!"

Alex wobbled unsteadily. She brought a shaky arm to the back of her head, feeling around for the white arrow that now pierced through it.

She stumbled forward and Galaxy caught her. His breaths became choppy as his golden eyes swelled with tears. He snarled at Memory, who still had his bow up after releasing that shot. "How could you?! You're a monster!"

Memory lowered his bow and scoffed. "Really now, a monster? Your attitude has certainly changed the last time I erased a friend's memory in front of you, Uncle."

Galaxy's furious expression melted into shame, an expression Memory was too familiar with. After all these generations, it was strange to deal with a Galaxy who understood everything for once. Memory wondered what exactly his uncle was having recollections about. Did he remember that Blue Steve village and how he sacrificed their entire history just to save his friendships and reputation? Did he remember all the times he buried his guilt when he thanked Memory and promised him free dessert for helping him, while promising himself forgiveness?

Did he remember the day he revoked all of his promises and ran away, taking Elemental and Time with him?

"W-what did you do to her?" Galaxy finally whimpered.

A long-dormant hatred stirred inside Memory. "Only took a few random memories. I know the smallest gaps in her memories is enough to unnerve her. You wouldn't know; you weren't there for her when she was confused and needed you the most."

Galaxy shrunk back, hugging the trembling Alex in his arms. He could only stare, knowing he had lost all his right to argue back.

"You know I can restore memories. You owe me many favors, but I'm generous enough to reward you for helping me. If you do what I say, I'll consider returning her memories. It'll be revolutionary: seeing you do something because you genuinely care for once. So, will you – "

Alex gasped. The arrow in her skull vanished. Galaxy dropped her from pure shock, but she quickly got on her feet, her expression renewed with urgent fear. "Galaxy, you'll be helping us if you run, so don't worry about feeling cowardly! Just get out of this dimension and save yourself!" She turned to Memory, balling her hands into fists. "I'll buy you some time!"

Memory gasped and nearly dropped his bow. "WHAT?!"

Galaxy cried, "Alex?! How – "

"Go!" Alex shoved an item into Galaxy's chest. "And take this! Don't lose it, no matter what!"

Galaxy's hand juggled the circular, golden item before he finally caught it. "But – "

"GO!"

Galaxy clamped his mouth shut, shoved the item into his hoodie pocket, and soared into the sky. Memory hissed and concentrated on the shrinking, fleeing figure, but Alex punched him in the face and broke his focus.

Memory quickly fired an arrow. Alex dove out of the way, the arrow nicking her shoulder, but she didn't falter at all.

A cold dread jolted Memory. "You didn't forget?!"

Alex gaped back, equally in disbelief. "I guess!" She formed a green ball of energy and threw it at Memory, who quickly teleported out of the way.

"This can't be happening!" He cried. "Sabre finished his task and doesn't need my power! I know I have the ability to erase memories again!"

"I-I don't know what's happening either!"

Memory groaned and dodged Alex's next attack. As she scanned around for him, he teleported to the next island, chasing after the fleeting aura of Galaxy. The lava and the various islands blinked and changed as he teleported, the only constant being the white fire bordering the dimension.

Lightning struck behind him and he was thrown forward. "Ah!" He rolled behind a tree, a green blast of energy barely grazing the edge of his mask.

Crap, crap, crap, crap. He quickly summoned a blue flower. Close enough! He set it down and it transformed into a Purple Steve wearing a suit. Go fly! Get her attention but don't let her see your face!

The Purple Steve jumped up and flew away. Memory peered from the tree and saw Alex, her gaze following the entity. With a huff of determination, she levitated into the air and chased after it.

Memory teleported again, hopping to one island after another. He couldn't lose Galaxy. Did his uncle know that falling into the lava was the quickest way out of the dimension? No, he doesn't know how my dimension works. That gives me more time to find him! He had to focus on finding Galaxy and worry about Alex later. But he couldn't stop thinking about the horrifying revelation, making it harder to get a trail on Galaxy's aura.

How was Alex suddenly immune to his powers?! He remembered erasing some of her memories before, during the mission where he destroyed Sabre's signs with TNT. Her memories should be open to the taking.

...But that mission was back when she only had a portion of her powers. Before she and Illusion teamed up against him. Before Illusion returned all of her powers, bringing her back to her true state as –

"Being the equal counterpart...what a joke..."

"Just remember, Memory Steve, you made me do this."

"Your incompetence is why I have no choice but to split this family further. But I suppose that's life: a disappointment I have to work around."

Memory gasped and skidded to a halt. "No..." The air froze with him. The white fire and Galaxy's aura completely disappeared from his focus. "Oh no no no..."

Thunder. Alex materialized several blocks above the ground in front of him. She awkwardly dropped a tattered blue flower to his feet. "Umm, sorry for ruining your flower?" Memory barely heard her apology.

"G-get away from me!" He jumped back and aimed a new arrow at her, despite knowing that it would do nothing. He had been a fool this whole time, not realizing this at the history, her story, her connection with the others. "You're not just the protector of this realm! You're one of the – !"

Slam! Alex hurled a energy ball. Memory was tossed back, now sprawled on the island. Alex teleported in front of him and punched him in the face before jumping back into the sky.

Memory shot up and hovered a shuddering hand over the pain blazing across his face. "Oh Colors, why this?! Why now?!" The remaining victorious adrenaline he gained from the first half of the mission was gone, doubt making its voice clearer than before.

It was a pain to erase the memories from Sabre's world. He had no idea where to start with erasing the memories of someone like Alex. If he couldn't erase Origin Steve's memories in the Spiritless world, how could he erase hers?

Alex tilted her head. "Memory, what's wrong?"

Memory dumbfoundedly scanned the transformed landscape, again realizing the white fire tracing the horizon. A mess of a dimension, all from his attempts to –

Memory laughed. His hands raked across his covered head before they encased his face. His hidden eyes swelled with tears, making each new laugh more warped. "Oh fuck, I've-I've disappointed you, didn't I? Look at this mess! I haven't had my shit together, huh?"

Alex raised an eyebrow, also observing the horizon. "Well, it is a mess, I won't deny that. I don't understand everything else you're saying, but if you want to talk about it, I can listen and – "

Memory dropped his hands and gawked. "Wait, you don't understand?! How-how can you not?!" The island suddenly roared, the ground letting out a dry creak as it began pulling itself apart. Memory dropped to his knees, his laughs becoming ragged breaths. "Did-did I disappoint you so much that you'd rather forget about me than scorn me?! Hah, then am I right to erase everyone's memories?! Is it true that I'm worthless?! Then why does it feel wrong that you're here and – !" The island quaked and the sky growled. Alex shrieked and dodged the assault of lightning.

Memory clenched his temples. His gaze was fixed to the ground, oblivious to the trembling land and attacking sky. "But I tried, didn't I?! I know you expected better from me and I wasted your time, but I did try! I've been trying ever since! Just, WHY?!" His fists slammed the unstable ground. "Why?! Why did you have to see me in this state!"

Alex cried out, "I don't know what you're talking about!"

Memory seethed, the air inside his mask suddenly toxic. "Y-You really don't remember?!"

"Remember what?!"

He attacked his head and tore off his spiral mask and balaclava. "WHY DON'T YOU REMEMBER?!" His voice thundered. Alex froze, her green eyes wide and unable to look away from Memory.

"WHY DON'T YOU RECOGNIZE ME?! YOU'RE ONE OF THEM. YOU SHOULD BE DISAPPOINTED IN ME." The white fire stretched further in the sky, blasting a new wave of heat to Memory's exposed face. The light was blinding, but Memory saw the fires curl forward, reaching towards the same center in the sky, trying to entrap him in a fiery cage. Somehow, through the cacophony of thunder, the fires' voices were loud and clear. He knew what they were talking about.

Disappointment. Lost potential.

Disgraced. Messed it all up.

Memory shut his teary eyes and screamed, "WHY DON'T YOU RECOGNIZE ME?! YOU WERE THERE WHEN IT ALL STARTED, AND YOU WERE THERE WHEN IT – "

Slap!

Memory's head hit the ground, vision disarray and the side of his face burning. Alex pulled him up and shook him by the shoulder, eyes frantic. "Memory, I have no idea what you're talking about!"

Memory looked away and whimpered. He wanted to shield his face, but Alex's grip was tight on his arms.

"Look, if I don't remember, that's probably a sign that what you're getting worked up about isn't as terrible as you think! You're ok, and you aren't as bad as you say you are! Please, tell me what's wrong and we can stop this together!"

"ALEX!" A new voice.

Alex loosened her grip. "Galaxy?!"

Memory dared to pry his teary eyes open. He saw a purple blur land behind Alex. "I can't do it! I finally understand what's going on, with the illusion and everything, and I've done nothing about it! Well, no more! I'm not running away anymore!"

Alex looked over her shoulder, expression still frantic. "No, it's ok! You were in the bad spot, and I was too. It's ok to run and let me handle it!"

Memory's vision cleared and he tensed when he saw Galaxy staring directly back at him. But when he saw his uncle, there was one thought that rang loud and clear, refusing to be drowned by the newfound anxiety. The thought commanded Memory to spread his hand out, have a hold of his dimension again, and wait.

With the dread underneath his skull growing more brutal, the only thing Memory could do was internally chant how much he hated himself and how much of a disappointment he was. But at least he was a disappointment who would get the job done.

A distorted lightning bolt struck the island and riiiip a sickening chasm grew where it struck.

Alex shrieked as she and Memory both shook and fell. Memory quickly rolled out of her reach, teary red eyes focused on her. She's one of them. She's one of them. She hates me. She hates me.

Crack! The chasm grew, its fanged mouth reaching for Alex. The ground beneath her dropped and she screamed as she fell.

"NO, ALEX!" Galaxy roared and broke into a sprint, charging towards the chasm.

Memory tensed with sudden adrenaline and flicked his spread hand towards Galaxy.

A white rectangular entity burst out of the lava and landed between the chasm and Galaxy. Sabre, return!

Galaxy's face didn't even change until he collided into the rectangle. The rectangle exploded, rumbling like a collapsing brick wall. Galaxy collapsed on the other side of the destroyed rectangle. His purple body throbbed with glitches, as if he was ready to explode too, and the glitches were the only thing keeping his body together.

Alex finally flew out of the chasm and landed near her friend, looking distressed. "Galaxy!" As Galaxy glitched, he became more and more gray. Eventually, his image flickered, being replaced by the familiar sight of a grayscale player with a chicken onesie. "S-Sabre?!"

"Al-Alex?" The grayscaled Sabre looked up, his white, wet eyes spilling tears. "Alex, help me! Help – " He screeched. He glitched and Galaxy returned, also screaming in pain.

"I'm here! I'm here!" Alex held her friend(s), who repeatedly glitched to take each other's place. "Can you use your powers to stop this?!"

Galaxy replaced Sabre again and sobbed. "Alex, I messed up! I had a chance to save you and stop Memory, and I blew it! Maybe I deserve this!"

Memory teleported behind the glitching entity and Alex. Alex embraced her friend defensively. Memory tried to make his red gaze calculated and distant, despite the blinding light and the terrors haunting his mind. Sabre, push her away. Galaxy cried and Sabre replaced him, who gave a pained battle cry and shoved Alex off him.

Alex cried, "No, wait – !"

Memory teleported himself and Sabre away.

Memory and Sabre arrived at a new island, which held a platform of obsidian. A pre-made machine stood on the platform's center. It was simple: just a container hooked to redstone and constructed mostly with cobblestone. It only had two pistons to hold an entity in place.

Sabre, enter the machine. The grayscaled player climbed onto the obsidian platform. Galaxy glitched and replaced Sabre. He backed away from the machine, shaking his head. "No! I won't let you do this! I won't – " Sabre immediately replaced him and continued to limp towards the machine.

Galaxy returned again to tug away. "No!" Sabre. Galaxy. "No!" Sabre. Galaxy. "Sabre, I can't do this alone!"

Sabre returned, but with an alarmed expression. He gawked at his surroundings. "Wait, what the hell is going on?!"

"Sabre!" Galaxy's voice emerged from the player. "We have to stop Memory and – "

Memory grabbed the glitching entity from behind. Sabre and Galaxy screamed, kicking and spazzing out in the same body.

Memory pressed a hand against the entity's head. He channeled his energy, having to search in Galaxy's mind to retrieve a certain memory. "Why bother fighting?" He said darkly. "What's done is done. Close your eyes. Welcome the ever-consuming Void."

Finally, he found that memory and brought it to the frontlines of Galaxy's and Sabre's minds. He released the entity (Sabre again), who stood up straight. His face was serious and focused, but not to his surroundings. "Your powers are currently residing in me," he said. "If we merge, then it could balance your powers out. But what if we create a black hole?!"

Galaxy's disembodied voice recited the next part of the reenacted memory. "I don't think we have any other options! If my powers keep spiraling out of control, you could be the one who gets hurt!"

Memory commanded Sabre to enter the machine and lock himself in. "Ok ok! Please stay awake, Galaxy! When I step into the machine, you have to willingly merge with me!"

Memory withdrew a glitching flower from his inventory: the third and final key of his mission. This would had projected Sabre's memory of the same event he and Galaxy were currently reenacting with Galaxy's memory. Memory just prayed that this would work. He stepped back as thunder pelted the machine.

"SABRE-ER-ER-ER-ER!" Galaxy's voice roared from the inside.

A sword of lightning pierced the machine. It shoved Memory off the obsidian platform. Memory shielded his face and the back of his head as he tumbled to the ground. When the thunder ceased, he wobbled back up and saw the simple machine, miraculously still intact.

Someone inside deactivated the redstone and emerged from the machine.

It was Sabre. He was no longer glitching or falling apart, donning an emotionless expression again. However, the right side of his gray face pulsated. A large, dark purple goop covered his face. It thumped like a heart, yellow glows emerging and submerging in the indigo ink. The only constant glow was the eye in the center of the goop, flickering between gold and white. His black blindfold covered his left eye, but it had melted onto his face, the fabric fusing into his skin and purple goop, connected together by root-like particles.

Memory dusted the dirt and grass off his coat and grinned. Finally, his main tool for his plan was realized. This strange, grayscale abomination with a darkened galaxy spilling out of his head. A Shadow Galaxy Sabre? It didn't matter, because this abomination won't be Sabre or Galaxy for long.

He would become Void Steve, and much more than that. He would become someone with the powers, identity, and memories of Void, but no longer be a Steve. He would be a player, who had better things to do than be petty about Galaxy.

He would be unstoppable.

Memory slipped his balaclava and mask back on, climbed onto the obsidian platform, and approached the abomination, giving Sabre another command. Fortunately, the mutated Sabre still obeyed. He raisedhis hand, and another white rectangle launched out of the lava. Populating the white rectangle were 12 folders.

Assets, backups, bin, config, libraries, logs, mods, resourcepacks, saves, screenshots, shaderpacks, versions. The backups, logs, saves, and screenshots folders were still pink and locked, even though the illusion block had no effect on the account.

Memory asked, "These folders are how you access this world, correct?"

Sabre nodded.

"How do you prevent other players from invading servers?"

"You ban their account name and their IP."

"Then ban yourself from the Steve Saga server."

Sabre used his hands to click, drag across, and type information on the screen. New names and numbers joined the 12 folders. "I'm banned from this world. If I disconnect one more time, I can no longer rejoin."

Memory sighed in relief. "Thank goodness." Illusion's world will be saved. Without Reality's powers or knowledge, Void probably would not find another account to access this world or unban himself.

He'll be gone...forever.

Memory's heart suddenly dropped, pierced by a fall into dread, realization, and grief.

It was finally time to say goodbye.

He tensed, forcing himself to take a breath. He withdrew the three glitching flowers – all three memories that helped him craft this entire plan – and dropped them in front of the Sabre abomination, who picked them up. "...So you can know it was me who saved you..." He felt the tears against his mask.

Thunder. Memory peered up and saw Alex land on the obsidian platform. She lamented, "No, I'm too late!"

Memory quickly commanded the transformed Sabre to whirl around and enter a fighting stance towards Alex.

Alex gasped. "Sabre?! Galaxy?! What happened to you!"

Memory warned, "One step closer, and I will command him to attack you. Would you like to fight both of your friends at once?"

"Well, no! You wouldn't either if you were in my position!"

Memory sneered. "I expected you to say that." He snapped his fingers. Sabre pounced at Alex and pinned her down. She yelped, shouted, and slapped Sabre in the face, but refused to fight back.

Memory teleported to the machine and quickly added more pistons and redstone. After a quick double check, he jumped out of the way as Sabre grabbed and threw Alex like a ball into the machine. Memory flicked the lever and thunder roared, sealing Alex in place.

Alex snarled and thrashed in the machine. Being a simple cobblestone machine, it didn't completely hold her in place, but at least she couldn't escape. She gave a desperate glance to Memory. "Please, stop this! I can't lose both Galaxy and Sabre!"

"And allow Void to take over this world instead? Even I wouldn't allow that."

"No! Just please, stop trying to bring him back! You and I know that bringing him back won't give you the peace you want."

Memory nervously glanced away.

"Please, we can work something out! You can stop this!"

Memory clenched his head and chanted, "I can't. I can't. I can't! You've seen how I've gotten worse over the generations. I've never gotten better. I'm hopeless."

"You're not hopeless!"

Memory gave a half-laugh, half-cry. "I'm not even at my worst yet! I'm one step closer to it!" He turned to the Sabre-Galaxy entity and summoned the crown of red flowers. "And before I fall apart, I have to make everything right for him."

He placed the flowers on Sabre's head. The red glow added more evil life to the grayscale minion. "It's time..." He waved a hand across the crown. The flowers flickered and reduced into buds. The green leaves and flowers' sepals melted into Sabre's scalp, becoming one with his hair and skin.

"Sabre, leave this server!"

Sabre summoned the "Disconnect button." He pressed it.

And vanished.

"NO!" Alex screeched.

Memory gave a pained cry and fell to his knees, clenching his head. He sensed his entire dimension tremble as the white rectangles scattered across the dimension faded away. He bared his teeth and signaled a new white screen to emerge from the lava. It landed it front of him, but it was already glitching badly, threatening to disperse into pixels at any time.

The masked Steve whimpered. His memories were fading; Void's memories were being transferred back to his father, taking Memory's own memories with them. At least it was a slow transfer, so he still had time to hold onto the waning generations-worth of memories. He had to finish this job before his connection with Sabre and the last of his memories vanish.

The white screen displayed the Minecraft Menu, purple glitches covering the brown dirt overlay.

Sabre, enter a different world.

On the menu, Sabre pressed an icon of a golden "H" symbol. The screen screeched as the Menu blinked away. Its corners snapped off and faded away, leaving behind pixelated, torn edges.

The screen now showed Sabre staring at his own feet. He was on a gray platform. With the screen now only half its original size and distorting more, Memory couldn't see what Sabre saw beyond the platform.

Memory swallowed something bitter. "Sabre...reach into Void's memory and find the memory of Void's creation...let the memory consume you."

Sabre fell to his hands and knees and screamed. Thunder descended down and struck him. He screamed louder and somewhere in his head, Galaxy cried with him. For a moment, Sabre's onesie was replaced with a gray hoodie. His hands flickered into dark claws crawling out of the sleeves of a gray hoodie.

Alex snapped her desperate, horrified gaze to the screen. "Sabre, please, no!"

Sabre's screeches echoed in the server. Then he laughed. Or was he crying? As the choppy train of breaths continued, Sabre's voice was joined by another, deep, echoing voice.

He collapsed, with a thunder so heavy that the sky must had crashed down with him. Dark, clawed hands pushed the body back up. They didn't flicker back into Sabre's hands.

"I'm...I'm back?" A familiar voice, low and course as gravel, began. The body inspected and stretched one of its clawed hands. Then the figure that had replaced Sabre stood up, sparking a fireball in their hand. "I'm back! I'M BACK!"

"Yes!" Memory cheered. "YES! HE'S BACK! Ha. HAHAHAHA!" Memory clenched his head and burst into laughs. He felt tears of relief stream behind his mask. "HAHAHAHA!"

Then suddenly, he collapsed to his knees. Memory hissed in pain and clawed his covered scalp. His vision faded in and out. He recognized Alex, crying and giving silent pleas while trapped in a machine. He recognized the dismantling screen in front of him, which displayed a dark hand shooting fireballs at an unknown target.

Memory gave a whimper as the fire of victory and euphoria vanished. What was he feeling happy about anyway? He suddenly felt cold with confusion and dread.

What was happening? Who was the entity on the screen? Why was he feeling soar?

He couldn't remember.

"Hah...Hahahah...HAHAHA!" Memory had no idea what was happening, but he had to laugh. With his mind being drained of generations of memories, he had to refill the quickly emptying space with hysterical cackles.

"HAHAHA!" He squeezed his head as his laughs morphed into bawling. A splitting headache spun his world. He felt like he was descending down a storm of ancient emotions. He was falling through pain, sadness, relief, mercy, and so much more. These emotions were being unleashed by his fleeting memories, before they would vanish with them.

He heard explosions and screeches. He shot his head back up to the screen, barely able to see whatever scene of terror it showed. "OH, it's so good to be back!" A deep voice cackled from the screen. "But what is this place? What is – "

The dark figure suddenly paused, looking down at his hoodie pocket. He felt around it and withdrew a glitching white flower. He studied and twisted it before gasping, "Memory?"

Memory perked up. "D-dad?" He only knew to react like that because of the remaining memories he had left. He had no idea what was happening or what the future held, but something inside him told him that whatever this father figure said next, it was the only thing that mattered.

The only thing that would make it worth being trapped in this confusion forever.

Memory gasped and fell back, sprawled on the ground. His vision faded in and out again, suddenly exhausted as the last of his important memories slipped out of his grasp. One final sense of instinct urged him to stay awake and listen, reaching out a hand to the fading screen.

The unknown figure still stared at the flower. "...Memory...he...he...how did he even do it? ...Maybe after all this time, he's actually – "

Thunder trampled, causing Memory to weakly peer up.

A gray storm cloud stretched across the sky. Following underneath the cloud were five clocks, bound together by golden chains. The clocks ticked together, the harmonized clicks echoing in the sky, and all their hands began spinning in reverse.
