New Paths to Follow

Chapter 30th

Admiral Nelson's wife Syrian really didn't believe what was going on with the council and president. They were all scared of what might happen with the blasts. If this doesn't work there were going to be millions killed first off.

She nudged her husband's arm while they were eating at the tables, along with watching the entertainment. This was crazy to have this type of celebration of sorts. Especially when most or all of the population left on the planet will be dying...

"Yeah, I know Syrian. But there is nothing more we can do except to wait it out?" he said to his wife drinking some type of a liquor blue drink that was really affecting her. Admiral Harriman Nelson was liking the way it was loosening her up somewhat after ten plus years of marriage.

"Why don't you try one Harriman?" she was sweet on her own husband having to be too stern with his demeanor.

"No thank you. Someone in this family needs to have a clear head." he shifted in his seat to drink some of the water in front of him along with some type of meat that looked like chicken in some ways. It was extremely good for the most part.

Nelson was watching the others as well enjoying their selves with the food, drink, and dancers in all blue on the floor doing a number of routines.

Meanwhile, the President was finally alone and Nelson needed to talk with him.

Moving up from his chair to walk over to the president solder for some odd reason. "Are you alright?" Nelson needed to ask since the serum had been given to him.

"I am fine Harriman. I am just mostly worried about having to leave here in case the planet's orbital rotation doesn't shift back to normal. We stand to lose a great of with our people left on the planet not able to leave?" he cried out.

Shaking off his head. Admiral Nelson had a big question to ask. "Why on Earth did your space authority didn't think about building enough ships for all of the population?" Nelson watched for his reaction on his face and in general demeanor.

"It came down to financials for the most part. Not everyone is able to afford the flight!" he said.

"That's too bad since it's basically how Planet Earth is run mostly due to how much our population makes during a year. We break down to the rich, middle class, and poor to be a real shame in itself." Nelson had told him the truth.

"Now if you will excuse me Harriman I am leaving to head back to my quarters with my bond-mate to finish up packing our things. She is not exactly thrilled with going off-planet because of the problems. Hopefully, I will be able to calm her down."

"Whom does she blame for the problems?" Nelson had hit it on the nose with the question.

He didn't have to think about it with answering as he shook his head for a split second. "Myself mostly and then next with the blasted crooked council members trying to destroy our race." he cried out with a single tear falling down his cheek and for which has never happened before.

"I understand. By the way, how are you feeling since giving you the serum?" Nelson had to say with seeing his face flushed.

"I feel slightly flushed right now. But otherwise, I am feeling okay except for the long day and evening. I must go now, Admiral. Your people will be taken to quarters in order to rest." he says with a loud yawn walking away.

Sometime later...

The escort a young female driving one of the vehicles had taken them to the 110 level of the city for nelson and his friends will be able to get some rest. The quarters were totally different in order to see the entire city with no clouds in the area.

There was very little traffic in the lanes with most of the population lucky enough to leave the planet. Reaching the platform with the vehicle stopping with the young female driver waited for everyone to debark onto the main level.

She was greeted by the security officers to take the Earthlings to their quarters as requested by the president in case any of the troublemakers try to overrun them on this level.

Admiral Nelson and his wife Syrian with their belongings inside relaxed slightly She turned to face Nelson to say the following. "You get the feeling that there is so much paranoia ?" she said calmly.

"I agree. Nevertheless Syrian we have nothing else left to do except watch the blast out in space. We did what was necessary besides saving the Crystallines on Earth." he commented with a yawn needing to change and get some sleep if that was possible!

Moving into the bedroom. Syrian wasn't sleepy after having all of the liquor at the council chambers. Nelson turned after removing his uniform shirt to say..."Don't you even think about it Syrian? I am just too tire to even try it." he smirks.

"I forgive you. I am going to try using the spa in the other section of these quarters. Too bad you're just too tire to enjoy it Harriman?" she said...

"Damn it Syrian! You're making it difficult for me to say no to you," he said with removing the rest of his clothing with finding a large white towel in their belongings. "Let's go already and enjoy the only night we have together in this great city?" Nelson pulled his wife along to head into the next section of the huge spa area.

After figuring out how to use the spa. Nelson was able to get into the tub with the sprays hitting his body all over. While Syrian was loving the sight since it's been a long time since they were able to do something like this since getting married.

Relaxing and playing a little. The hot water was making the both of them tired after relaxing inside.
