"I had to let you girls know you didn't need to go to the table yet," Castle said once he had finished, tucking his handkerchief away in his pocket. When they reached him, he took Josie from Julia before he kissed her temple and said to all three girls, "You look very pretty tonight."
"They're just sundresses Dad," Julia told him with a smile. "Thanks though."
"You're welcome," Castle said, taking Josie's hand as she was patting his cheek before he pressed a gentle kiss to it.
"He's right, you look very nice today girls," Beckett said, coming from behind them. She smiled when Eliza rushed up to her and shared a hug with her before she said, "Are you ready for dinner?"
"I am!" Eliza said eagerly.
"We'll go now," Castle said. "I see a lot of people walking over there."
As they made their way down the deck over to the tables, Beckett saw her husband was right, and everyone was dressed for their casual dinner in either sundresses or trousers and dress shirts. She smiled seeing Paul even didn't have a blazer on, and she told her husband, "We're relaxed today."
"You better believe we are," Skye said, smiling when her friend turned around to her.
"I think she's thinking of those nights on cruise ships where you dress up and the captain's there," Mary told her wife wryly.
"True," Skye said, smiling as her wife was slipping her hand within hers. "Excuse us," she told the writers with a smile.
"I did mention you look stunning right?" Castle told his wife.
"Oh good," Darnley said as he was walking over with Nkosi. "I don't need to check and make sure you did."
Laughing softly, Beckett shook her head and said, "How many times do I need to tell you that you don't have to in the first place?"
"Several," Darnley said, before he was laughing again as she pinched his arm lightly. He squeezed her hand and said, "But this is great, being back. Think we'll get tired of it?"
"I doubt the kids would," Beckett said first.
"She's right, the ocean and pool? The kids will never want to leave," Castle said.
"There's still White Mount," Nkosi said. "They do seem to enjoy it."
"They do," Beckett said laughingly before Paul was calling to the adults there were drinks available. They walked to the table and sat, once they'd made sure the kids were okay. Once their food was served, she said, "I should have realized it was tapas."
"They look amazing," Lily said, amused when she saw the others were looking at her. "And they taste great," she added after taking a bite.
"You're going down to the galley, aren't you?" Paul asked her.
"Since I have the chance," Lily said with a slight smirk before she laughed with the others.
After they'd eaten for a little longer, Rebecca was saying, "I know we're sailing tonight, but I'm just wondering are we doing anything tomorrow?"
"I spoke with the captain," Paul said. "And she said we can stop out at sea since she has a schedule set up for us to get to our last spot and also so we can head into Vigo for the game." He laughed when the others were thanking him and Nancy and he held up his hand telling them, "No, no, you've said it before, so I know how you feel already."
"How far out to sea will we be?" Brad asked.
"We'll just be able to see the shore," Skye said. She smiled in amusement when the others turned to her then and she explained, "I asked Bitty about it since I knew we'd be 'at sea' for a couple days at least. And I asked her about stopping to let the kids swim too, we'd be able to take out the jet skis."
"There's no worry about sharks," Mary said suddenly. When they were looking at her, she nodded to Rebecca and Lily who had looks of uncertainty on their faces. She was about to continue when Castle was continuing quickly to reassure the two women.
"They don't need to swim that far out," he said.
"And I'm sure our parents will be watching the kids," Nkosi said.
"All the grandparents," Darnley commented.
"Sorry, force of habit," Rebecca said. "I don't know about sharks around here, but you can't help but worry."
Nodding in agreement Lily said, "I've always had that fear."
When her friend looked at her pointedly, Beckett started laughing and it took her a little to calm down before she explained to the others, "She was afraid of sharks in the Hudson. Which I guess could be possible, but I never heard of it when we were kids."
"I was always scared of sharks," Lily said.
"Me too," Rebecca agreed.
"You two aren't?" Paul asked the McDouglas women.
"No," Mary said first.
"You learn to be aware," Skye said. "Though don't really think we're as blasé as that. We try and keep an eye out for sharks and pay attention to reports of sightings."
"And we don't really surf for that long," Mary said with a smile to her wife. "We have jobs."
"Then I can tell the captain we'd like to stop?" Paul asked.
"Yeah, before lunch if possible, like we did today," Skye said. "Though you should ask with the others about that first. Being a bit presumptuous and speaking for us all."
The others laughed but were soon agreeing with the idea and Paul promised to speak to the captain after their meal. When they had finished, he was surprised to see an employee walk up to him and speak to him before he nodded saying, "I'll let them know."
"Were they from the captain?" Darnley asked.
"They were, she wanted to tell me that we're setting out sooner because of currents and whatnot," Paul said. "She just wanted to make sure we were okay with that."
"I think we are," David said quickly. "She is the captain."
As they were finishing their food and drinks, they looked out at the water as the boat was obviously starting up. Darnley jokingly toasted to the ship and they were all tapping glasses together seriously before they were drinking the last of their wine or cocktails.
"Hey, we're moving again," Kathleen said in surprise.
"I saw," Marie told her twin. She smiled and then said, "You didn't hear Paul?"
"Are you going to start fighting now?" Jacob asked as the younger of the twins was sticking her tongue out at her sister.
"No," Kathleen replied. "So now we're going to be traveling."
"I know, I can't wait to be out at sea," Eve said eagerly. She saw the others looked surprised and told them, "It makes me want to take a cruise."
"Maybe one day we could do a Disney cruise," Jacob told his sister.
"That would be cool," Mari said with a nod. "I think my parents were looking into one, but they weren't sure when since we didn't have a chance. They go to a lot of places."
"Almost all over the world," Marie said.
"Our mums have looked at a cruise," Kathleen said to the others. "But we're not sure if our little sisters would like a ship." She was going to continue when Julia was smiling and speaking quickly to them about the yacht.
"This is a test?" she asked.
"I think so," Marie said.
"Have you two been on a cruise before?" Eve asked them.
"No, but we have been on the ferry over to Catalina," Kathleen answered. "And we were fine, Mum and Mom said we have our sea legs."
"I think everyone here does," Jacob told them.
"Good thing," Julia said, speaking distractedly. She felt a hand touch her arm and looked at her friend, smiling and said, "They're getting up from the table."
"Does that mean we're going to hear some music now?" Marie asked her mother jokingly as Skye was walking over to where they were sitting.
"You are," the investigator said. "I've been sent to check if you're all ready to head up to the top deck?"
"We are," Marie and Kathleen said at the same time.
Laughing with her friends, Julia asked when they stopped, "Are you ready?"
"If you're asking if our things are up there," Skye began to say. "Then yes."
"Come on," Beckett was telling Eliza when she'd gone to the other table to get Josie from her highchair. "We're going to listen to some music," she said.
"Mummy and Mommy are gonna sing?" Iris asked.
"We will," Mary said, gathering her three youngest before they were going together up to the deck where they had performed last time while they sailed.
When they reached the end of the ship, Paul looked at the two women as they stepped out around the Jacuzzi and said, "We might have to move back," as he wasn't sure about the wind.
"Let's try and play," Skye said as she considered it. She went over to her guitar case, pulling out her electric bass and she smiled at the singer.
"Go on," Paul said. "They'll hear it soon enough either here or inside," he told her.
Laughing, Skye nodded and went to plug in her guitar in an amp at the end of the deck before she was playing the bass at the beginning of the song. She smiled when the others were cheering her and she said, "So I suppose that answers it," as she set the guitar down for Paul to play. "We'll play here. Speedway?"
"If we can," he replied as he walked over with Mary so they could get their instruments. "What about everything else?"
"We have that app," the doctor explained to him. "I'll get it ready now."
"Julia," Beckett said to her second oldest, motioning her.
"Yeah?" the girl asked with a smile as she wrapped her arms around her mother's neck since she was already sitting.
"What made you pick that one?" Beckett asked.
"It just fit, it's summer and we're at the sea," Julia explained. "It's not Jamaica but it feels like it would work."
"Have you ever spoke to Linda or felt her?" Castle asked the girl as he knew his wife was wondering.
"No to the first, I don't think she feels like she needs to speak to mediums," Julia said. "She's at peace. But I have felt her here and there sometimes, like today. It's why I thought of the song."
"It's a good choice," Paul said.
Smiling a little, since she knew the singer had heard her, Julia said, "I hope you have fun singing it," not surprised when Paul nodded before he was turning to speak to everyone as some of the crew had come to watch them again.
"Alright then, we're going to perform for you for a bit," Paul started with. "Mostly them and not me," he added before they were laughing.
"We should just start," Skye told him in amusement.
"Yeah, alright," Paul said laughingly. He started to count down before they were playing with the music from Mary's phone.
Julia immediately went to Mari as soon as the music had begun, and they started to dance together before the other kids were doing the same except for the three youngest. She was listening to the song at the same time, enjoying the lyrics as Paul and Skye were singing them together while they played their guitars, Mary joining them for the chorus.
Oh! Papa catch the fish from the bottom of the sea
Mama fixes net, she keeps an eye on me
Dainty little Mama, smile all day
Cook your sweet potato, at night she lay lay
Oh, Seaside Woman
Oh, Seaside Woman
Ride grey mule to market place each day
Sells her beads and baskets for seashell pay
Dainty little Mama, smile all day
Papa loves you Mama and he say-say
Oh Seaside Woman, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh, Seaside Woman
All right, snap it on
Beckett smiled when Josie was bouncing on her lap as the instrumental started then, and she set her down before letting her bounce around a little while she held onto her hands. She was still listening to the music, looking every so often at the three performing as Paul was eventually vocalizing as he had in the original recording of the song.
Oh, Seaside Woman
Oh, Seaside Woman
Yeah
Turn around
I don't wanna walk, I don't wanna talk, I just want to be with you
Oh! Papa catch the fish from the bottom of the sea
Mama fixes net, she keeps an eye on me
Dainty little Mama, smile all day
Papa love you Mama, at night he lay-lay
Oh, Seaside Woman
Oh, Seaside Woman
Oh, Seaside Woman
Seaside Woman
Seaside Woman
Seaside Woman
Yeah
Seaside Woman
Seaside Woman
Bowing with her wife and Paul as their audience was applauding them, Skye played a few bluesy chords before she said with a smile, "Alright, I suppose we're set?"
"I think I am," Paul said, removing his guitar before Julia and Mari were being called to by the investigator.
"You two, dancers," Skye said jokingly.
"They have names you know," David said in mock annoyance.
"We knew she was talking to us Dad," Mari said jokingly as she and Julia were heading over to the investigator.
"Just joking of course," Skye said to the mayor who waved at her with a smile. She then turned her attention to the girls and said gently, "I'm about to sing something I'm wondering you might have a dance for."
"What do you think the song is?" Castle asked his wife. He looked at her before he noticed she was giving him a look and he asked, "What?"
"You're going to start that up again?" Beckett said jokingly. She smiled when he laughed and then said, "I really have no idea, she thinks they might be able to dance to it." She saw the three had finished speaking before she hurriedly said, "We'll find out now."
"Alright," Skye said as she went to the keyboard that she had asked the crew for. She turned it on and played a few chords there before nodding and said, "There, we're ready, so anyway this song is a bit of a lark for us. But it happens to be a favorite of my wife's so I'm singing it."
"If you told us what it was, we might like it too," Darnley said jokingly.
Laughing Mary said, "We will right now." She nodded to her wife and once she saw that Skye was ready, she counted them in that time as she was playing her own bass with her phone providing the rest of the instruments for them.
Beckett looked at Julia as soon as the song began, recognizing it quickly, and she saw that her second oldest was dancing simply with Mari. She was a little surprised the two didn't have a dance for it but was soon looking at Josie as the baby was bouncing again, that time with Castle. She smiled while she watched the two, reaching to wrap her arm around her husband's, leaning against him as they were listening to the song.
Seaside whenever you stroll along with me
I'm merely contemplating what you feel inside
Meanwhile I ask you to be my Clementine
You say you will if you could but you can't
I love you madly
Let my imagination run away with you gladly
A brand new angle highly commendable
Seaside rendezvous
I feel so romantic can we do it again?
Can we do it again sometime I'd like that
Fantastic see est la vie mesdames et messieurs
And at the peak of the season
The Mediterranean
This time of year it's so fashionable
I feel like dancing in the rain
Can I have a volunteer?
Just keep right on dancing
What a damn jolly good idea
It's such a jollification as a matter of fact
So tres charmant my dear
Underneath the moonlight
Together we'll sail across the sea
Reminiscing every night
Meantime I ask you to be my valentine
You say you'd have to tell your daddy if you can
I'll be your Valentino
We'll ride upon an omnibus and then the casino
Get a new facial
Start a sensational
Seaside rendezvous so adorable
Seaside rendezvous oh
Seaside rendezvous, give us a kiss
Turning to her husband, Beckett said as he walked up to her, "Liquor?"
"No, tea," Castle replied in amusement. "You should have looked at what I was holding."
"I wanted to tease you; I saw what you had," Beckett replied, taking one of the mugs he held. She tested the tea that was inside before she told him, "Sit."
"I was wondering if you might want to go back in," Castle said though he was doing so quickly.
Beckett cupped her husband's cheek with her hand for a moment before she told him, "I'm fine. Though you realize I might wonder what exactly you're thinking with that." She laughed as her husband made a face and she leaned over to him, kissing him very gently on the lips. "You're lucky I know you," she teased him once she had pulled away.
Nodding, Castle kissed her again, making it a little deeper before they were slowly parting a bit after that before he said, "And I know you. It's frustrating."
"That's not us knowing each other," Beckett replied with a smile. "More it being the same for us both." She laughed again when he bowed his head toward her, and she pressed a kiss to the top of it before he was speaking into her shoulder.
"Still, it's not that much time left," Castle said.
"No, but you might want to sit up," Beckett told him.
Castle was surprised she'd said that but quickly did so before he looked down the deck that went past their cabin and soon spotted Eliza. "Hey," he said to the little girl. "What happened?"
"I woke up," the little girl said shyly.
"Come here," Castle said, having gotten up to walk to her. He picked her up and carried her back to where he and Beckett were sitting saying, "You didn't have a nightmare did you?"
"No, I just was awake," Eliza said, wrapping her arms around her mother once she was sitting on her lap.
Gently caressing the little girl's mussed hair, Beckett said, "Are you thirsty at all?" When Eliza shook her head, she smiled a little and then said, "You know you need to go back so sleep right?"
Sighing, Eliza pressed closer to her mother and then said, "I know but… could I stay just a little? I'm not very sleepy."
"Just for a little," Castle said as his wife was smiling at him. He reached over and gently caressed her hair before saying to Beckett, "We should head to our cabin once we get her into bed."
"How come you and Mommy aren't in bed yet?" Eliza asked.
"Are you scolding us sweetie?" Beckett replied with a question of her own while she was trying not to laugh.
"No," Eliza said simply.
Kissing the top of her daughter's head, Beckett said, "We were having some tea and just enjoying it out here."
"Oh," Eliza said, as she'd seen the mugs her father had carried her over to her mother.
"We'll go to bed after you do though," Castle said. He saw soon after he'd spoken that Eliza was looking up at the sky and said, "It's pretty isn't it?" since they could see the stars though the lights of the boat were on.
"Yeah," Eliza said. She smiled and then said a little sleepily to her parents, "We can stay on the ship tomorrow?"
"We will," Beckett assured her.
"We're going to swim in the ocean and the pool," Castle said, leaning over and kissing her temple. "Hopefully you'll want to do that."
Beckett shared a smile with her husband as Eliza merely nodded sleepily and she gently rocked the little girl. She continued to caress her hair again, she and Castle silent and they were letting Eliza fall asleep. It took a little bit, but she finally felt the little girl was slumped against her and she smiled before she was kissing Eliza's temple and she nodded to her husband before she stood up. She let Castle take her, watching him making sure he was okay holding her before they walked down the deck to the nearest staircase down to the next deck where her cabin was.
Castle made sure Eliza was still sleeping as they reached the hall before he was stopping at the same time as his wife. He saw his mother was at the door of another cabin, about to knock when his wife was hurrying down to her as she was speaking in a whisper at the same time.
"Martha," Beckett whispered hurriedly. "Martha, she came up to our deck," she said when her mother in law turned to her.
"Oh good, I felt like something was wrong and when I checked on the girls in there, I saw Eliza was gone," Castle's mother said in obvious concern.
"She's fine, she told us she suddenly woke up," Beckett said before they were turning to her husband as he was walking up to them.
"Oh, well, at least she went to you," Martha replied. "Will you take her?"
"We are," Castle replied.
"Then I'll head back," Martha said, smiling at Eliza who was still fast asleep. "Goodnight you two," she told her son and daughter in law.
"Night," Beckett said, her husband saying the same before they turned their attention to getting Eliza into the room she was sharing with the three youngest McDouglas girls. She watched Castle setting Eliza on the bed where Fleur was already asleep and then gently tucked the little girl in, leaving with her husband before they closed the door.
Castle took his wife's hand and held it while they went back up to the deck their cabin was on. He stopped her before they were going inside and said, "You don't want to stay out any longer?"
Shaking her head Beckett said, "No, I think we need to get to our room now."
Nodding, Castle said, "Just wanted to check," before they started to walk together once they were inside. Closing the door behind them, he locked it and then said, "What do you want to do now?"
"Change and get ready for bed," Beckett replied easily with a smile.
"Yeah, don't worry," Castle said quickly. "I was going to do the same."
Stepping up to him, Beckett wrapped her arms around him and said, "I think we can do something together before we go to bed."
Castle held back from commenting on that, smiling a little, before he said, "Okay."
Beckett kissed his cheek and said, "I'm glad we agree."
"We do," Castle said before he was rushing to his bathroom where his pajamas already were.
Smiling as she looked after him, Beckett walked over to her bathroom and proceeded to change before she brushed her teeth and then her hair. She walked over to the bed but was detoured when she saw her husband at the windows in front of it.
Turning to her, Castle smiled and said, "You think we could stay up a little later?"
"We could," Beckett said, nodding her head. "Remember the kids aren't going to go anywhere and the crew will watch them."
"And the grandparents will be up, I know," Castle said. He then reached his arm out to his wife and once she had stepped next to him, he enveloped her in an embrace before he gently kissed her temple before he said, "I'm worried you know."
"It'll be alright," Beckett said, pulling back enough to look up at him.
"You know that I forget myself, right?" Castle asked in surprise.
Brushing her lips against his, Beckett told him, "I know, but I'll make sure we don't go that far."
Frowning Castle said, "I'd love to believe you could do that but…"
Smiling Beckett said, "We're not going to go that far."
"I still don't know how that's going to work out," Castle replied though he didn't stop her as she was taking his hand and pulling him to the bed. When they climbed onto it, he said, "Please tell me you want me to tell you a memory or something."
Beckett couldn't keep herself from laughing and she told him, "Yes but not first." She watched him with a smile as he was groaning heavily while he tilted his head back and told him firmly, "Love."
Raising his head, Castle said, "Yeah?"
Laughing briefly at the tone of her husband's voice, Beckett leaned over to him before he moved to her and they gently kissed. When they were apart, she told him, "I don't want to wait that long for the memory."
"Even then I might snap," Castle said. He smiled when his wife burst into laughter and leaned against him before he wrapped his arms around her. He moved her then so she was on his lap and he said, "I'm kidding, I mean I'm a little concerned I might take things too far but if it comes to that I'll take care of myself."
Raising her eyebrow, Beckett said, "What makes you think it'd be one sided?"
"Assumption," Castle replied, nodding his head. He smiled when his wife was laughing and he leaned over, kissing her tenderly on the lips. He caressed her hair once they'd stopped and he said, "But if we intersperse that with talking we should be okay."
"That's kind of what the memory was for," Beckett said. She gently covered her husband's mouth and told him, "After we do this a little more, I'd like to feel a little rougher from you." She wasn't surprised when his eyes darkened in front of her and he was moving away her hand so he could speak, his voice already husky when he did.
"We're risking a lot with that," Castle said since he was holding onto her tightly.
Beckett was going to respond when her husband was suddenly kissing her fervently while they were holding onto each other tighter. She parted her lips to her husband's tongue eagerly, letting him rub it against hers before she was playfully fighting against him before they were parting after a while. She smiled and said, "Too much?"
"It's going to become way too much," Castle said with a nod. He wasn't surprised when she pressed against him a little more and told her, "I should start."
"Go ahead," Beckett said, trying to calm down as she had been affected by their kiss as well. She smiled when he kissed her shoulder through her pajama shirt and then said, "Or should we go to sleep?"
"No, no," Castle said quickly as he sat up. "I'll start. It was the fifth of August in 1927, a Friday. You were really close to having Eliza and it was showing that day."
Beckett smiled and cuddled closer to his husband while she listened to the memory, recalling that morning after he'd returned from taking Julia to her friend's house to play until after lunch.
"Here you are love," Rick said, walking up to his wife.
"Thank you," Kate said appreciatively as she took the glass of milk he'd gotten for her. "I'm sorry I asked you to get it for me."
Shaking his head firmly Rick said, "I prefer it to you getting up."
"It's not all that far to the ice box," Kate said with a smile. She took a sip of her milk and then set her glass aside saying, "What is it?"
"Nothing," Rick replied quickly, shaking his head. When she frowned at him, he knew he needed to speak so he said in a rush, "I think we should take a walk love."
"I knew you would say that," Kate assured him. "And I would like to." She couldn't help laughing softly and told him, "I should, I feel like a whale just sitting here."
"But you look beautiful," Rick told her seriously.
"Thank you," Kate replied. She finished her milk; since he hadn't gotten that much; and then told her husband, "Let me stand on my own."
"Of course," Rick said though he was staying next to her just in case she needed help. "Sheba," he said, taking her hand when she looked at him once she stood up. He pressed a gentle kiss to the back of it before he was about to leave for the closet to get his hat. He was startled when she grabbed him, making him let out a huff of air as she was stronger than he thought she would be. "Kate?" he asked, turning to her.
She didn't answer, instead Kate wrapped her arms around him before they were kissing, and she was reaching in between their bodies before she was grabbing forcefully at his groin.
"You know, there was something familiar when you did that the first time in this life," Castle commented.
Beckett smiled and said, "Like I told you before, I normally wouldn't have done that with the elevator doors just closing and the bull pen full, but it seemed like I should."
"You enjoyed it?" Castle asked.
"Not at that moment," Beckett said, giving him a look. "I thought we weren't trying to risk anything," she said quickly before she could recall how they'd gone back to her place after leaving the station and had made love. She had grabbed him again; a lot like she had in the memory; and they'd been extremely passionate. Before her husband could respond to her she was then saying, "Why did we do it?"
"I had the same thought," Castle said, relived she'd said that as he'd been recalling their afternoon once they'd learned she was still under suspension for two months. They'd been exploring their physical relationship still; also the fact that they were in a relationship after nearly four years of dancing around each other and their desire for one another; and he had been making sure he was pleasuring her for so long they ate lunch late and dinner later as they couldn't stop. It was too much recalling and he went back to the memory in his mind so he wouldn't start becoming noticeably aroused while she was still on his lap. "It's a surprise since I'm sure the idea of having sex with the baby so far along was a no-no at that time," he said, smiling when she was laughing softly at his wording. "But we did, and Eliza was there a little less than a month later… but that was the last time we did anything."
"I remember," Beckett said with a nod. "We talked about it that night and you spent a long time with your hand on my stomach to make sure the baby and I were okay… again."
Leaning into his wife, Castle shared a kiss with her before he said, "Should I go to then or after we made love?"
"After we made love," Beckett with a smile, leaning against him again so he would start.
"I shouldn't have done that love," Rick said to his wife once he was calm. He moved away from her gently and immediately laid his hand on her stomach. "Is the baby safe?" he asked, trying to feel it kicking.
"It's swell," Kate replied, feeling blissful in that moment. She sighed and covered her husband's hand with her own before she jumped and laughed as the baby kicked. "Here love," she told him, moving his hand.
Breathing out, Rick nodded and said, "Your ma would have my head if I hurt the baby."
"Hmm," Kate said with another sigh.
"Kate?" Rick asked, watching her in surprise.
Smiling, Kate told him, "I'm very happy now Rick. You're a Sheik," reaching for him.
Rick told himself to resist, but because it was his wife he caved in as soon as she was touching him and he kissed her deeply. When they parted, he murmured against her lips, "I love you Kate."
"I love you so much Rick," she replied before they were kissing again. When they stopped Kate told him with a smile, "I would want to do that again but… you're right about Ma, she'd scold me something fierce for doing that. Though I would miss you an awful lot love."
"So would I," Rick started to say. He was hesitating for a moment before he asked her, "Would you like to take a bath?"
Smiling, as she knew her husband wanted to get them away from their bed and the temptation of doing more, Kate shook her head and said, "I'd appreciate a shower, with you."
Nodding his head, Rick helped her off the bed and they went into the bathroom together before they were under the hot water. He ran his hands over her stomach, telling her as he did that, "I love the way this feels Kate," before she was responding in what he could tell was amusement.
"I'm that glad you do," Kate replied. "But what will you do once I have the baby?"
"We'll need to have more," Rick replied, wrapping his arms tightly around her from behind and hugging her to his chest. He wasn't surprised when she immediately turned to him and they kissed hungrily, for so long that he had to stop before they became lost completely in one another again. He smiled as his wife was slow in opening her eyes and he told her, "We've been here for too long love."
"We have," Kate said with a nod. She let him turn off the water before he stepped out first and got her towel. She watched him drying her off before she told him, "You'll let me dress myself, won't you?"
"Of course," Rick said as she'd already had to scold him for doing too much for her.
"Good," Kate said simply before she smiled and laughed as her husband was suddenly hugging and then kissing her. "Rick! You're still wet!" she said since she could feel it soaking through her towel around her.
"Sorry," Rick said, letting her go reluctantly. "You're a swell wife."
Kate was smiling again, and she leaned over to him, kissing him gently on the lips before they pulled away slowly. She watched him dry himself off before leading the way into their bedroom. She wanted to speak while they were dressing but had to make sure she would be alright until she got to where she needed to put on her stockings. "Love," she started to say.
"Here," Rick said, hurrying over to her and helping her sit on the end of the bed. He was putting her stockings on her leg, pushing them up and attaching her garters once she was standing. "There," he said. "I hope I've done a swell job."
"You did, thank you love," Kate told him, cupping his face with her hand for a moment. She watched him getting his suit jacket before they were walking together down the stairs. Once she had her hat on, she told her husband, "Where do you want to walk?"
"Nowhere too far," Rick replied firmly as he was putting on his hat. "Just down the street for a bit."
"Thank you," Kate said with a smile. She then said, "Shall we?"
"Yes," Rick replied before they were leaving out the front door. He was careful to make sure she was okay going down the stairs and once they were walking out the gate he asked, "Are you swell love?"
"I am," Kate said, smiling at him. When he asked her what was wrong she told him, "I had a feeling you'd be asking me again."
"I can't help it love," Rick replied before he smiled. He opened the door for her and watched her walking out to the sidewalk before he said, "You can decide where we go," as she was looking back and forth down the street.
Kate nodded at that before she walked up the street to Blithedale before she said, "What should we do now?" to her husband once he was joining her.
"Do?" Rick asked in surprise.
Smiling at him, Kate said, "I'd like more than a little stroll."
"Not that long," Rick said immediately.
Kate laughed softly before she leaned over and kissed his cheek before she told him, "I think we should get some bread."
"Alright," Rick said, relieved as the bakery was the first shop they'd come to. When they reached the street, he squeezed her hand gently before they were walking up to the door. He opened it for his wife, watching her head inside quickly and he was hurrying after her to make sure she wouldn't go too fast.
After she had gotten what bread she needed, Kate was letting her husband take the bag they'd gotten before they were heading back to their home. "You're still the mother hen Rick," she told him teasingly as they were crossing to the other side of West Oaks.
"I can't help it, your ma has taught me very well," Rick said. He smiled when his wife laughed, and he held her a little closer to him when they were getting nearer to their home.
"The rest is basic," Castle said as he stopped there. "We made lunch and then rested until I had to get Julia at her friend's house."
"It was a nice day," Beckett assured him as she knew he was thinking if that was enough. She leaned over to kiss him and told him, "It doesn't need to have anything big; I like remembering everything you know."
"Me too," Castle said before they kissed again. They weren't too rough, but they were lingering and when they had to stop to breathe, he told her roughly, "We… we should get some sleep."
Nodding, Beckett didn't move though, and she instead wrapped her arms around his neck before she brushed her lips to his and told him, "I love you Rick."
"I love you too Kate," Castle said immediately. He kissed her again and then told her, "Goddess."
"Sheik," Beckett replied, smiling. They kissed each other firmly before she got off his lap and moved so he could lay down first. She followed him quickly and then told him, "Night love."
"Night," Castle told her, kissing her temple. "Sweet dreams love."
Smiling up at him, Beckett shared another kiss with him and told him, "You too Rick." They kissed a second time before they settled down to sleep and she was pressing closer against Castle than she already was. She closed her eyes, letting the feel of her husband's arms around her holding her close lull her to sleep, looking forward to her dreams.
Watching her, Castle was smiling a little since his wife looked extremely peaceful and even more so when she fell asleep fully. It was at that point he allowed himself to nod off, caressing her upper arm gently so he could have a little more contact with her. He couldn't wait to see what his subconscious would let him dream, knowing he would see his wife there and wanting to spend that night with her in whatever way he could before they started their second day at sea.
