"Can I come out now?" Danielle called through the closed bedroom door. "I've been ready for nearly half an hour."

"Almost, just a minute more," Spencer hollered back.

Danielle wandered back to look at herself in the mirror. A few days prior, Spencer had suggested they have a date night and told her to go buy something nice to wear. The girls had a field day with the idea and insisted they come along to help. Now, she stared at the long red silk dress that draped perfectly down her body. A slit in the side ran to the bottom of her thigh. She had pulled her hair half up with curls cascading down her back. Her face coated in makeup, something she didn't do often. She had to admit, she felt beautiful.

She was grateful J.J. offered to take Hope for the night. It wasn't that they didn't want Hope around, in fact, Danielle had already texted 7 times in the past 2 hours to see how she was doing. Spencer just insisted they needed a little adult time once and a while.

"Ok! You can come out now!"

Danielle made her way to the door. She stopped with her hand on the doorknob and took a shaky breath. She was nervous. She opened the door and gasped at the sight before her. Spencer stood in a black suit, white shirt, and black necktie next to a fully decorated dinner table. There were candles flickering, a huge vase with red roses, the petals sprinkled along the floor leading to the table, soft romantic music played in the background.

"Oh, Spence," she said as her hand covered her mouth. "It's beautiful."

He walked toward her, holding his hands out to clasp hers.

"Not nearly as beautiful as you," he said softly, making her blush.

She lifted her arms to wrap around his shoulders.

"You look incredibly handsome," she said before pressing her lips gently against his.

"Shall we?" he asked as he moved quickly to pull out her chair.

"Why thank you," she said smiling as she took her seat. "Spence, this looks amazing. I can't believe you did all of this."

"Just avoid the kitchen for a week," he joked making her laugh.

He lifted his glass of wine and held it out, Danielle followed along.

"To the greatest love of my life," he said.

"To the greatest love of my life," she repeated as they clinked glasses.

The rest of the meal was uneventful. Normal conversation flowed between the two. Spencer making Danielle laugh, something he loved to do. When they had finished dinner, he cleared their plates and returned with two small pieces of raspberry cheesecake.

"Oh, you spoil me," she sighed when he placed it in front of her. "My favorite."

Spencer sat down and Danielle noticed he seemed to be fidgeting suddenly. She put her fork down and tilted her head at him.

"Hey, are you ok?"

He looked up and gave her a genuine smile.

"Yea, I'm great. Truly couldn't be better. I mean … actually, I guess I could be a little better," he said.

"Oh?"

"The thing is … growing up I never believed in love. I thought it was just a fairytale we try to convince ourselves is real so we survive loneliness. Let's face it, if my life were a book it would certainly be categorized as a tragedy," he said making her frown.

"But … but all of that changed when I met you. You are every love sonnet come to life. I've walked this Earth completely empty until I found you. You are the reason I see, the reason I breath, the reason I am. Without you, I am nothing," he said as his lip quivered.

Danielle smiled as tears streamed down her cheeks. Spencer slipped his hand into his jacket pocket and slid out of his chair. She let out a sob as he knelt before her and flipped open the velvet square box.

"Danielle Renee Goren, will you do me the honor of spending the rest of your life with me?" he said through his own tears.

She couldn't even speak as she nodded and dove into his arms. Spencer wrapped his arms around her before leaning back to kiss her. After a few minutes of kissing and crying, he slipped the ring on her finger. Leave it to him to have the perfect fit.

"It's beautiful," she said wetly as she admired the sparkling diamond ring.

"I hoped you would like it," he said wiping away his tears.

"I do, so much," she nodded with a smile. "And I guess, I kinda have something for you as well."

She stood up gently and rushed from the room, returning moments later with an envelope. Spencer stood next to the table watching her curiously. He opened the envelope and slid the card out. As he read his eyes widened and he looked at her in shock.

"Congratulations, you're gonna be a Dad."

A/N: short chapter. I don't know if anyone is reading this anymore anyway, but if you are – hope you liked it. I think there will be one more chapter until this is wrapped up. Then I'll finish working on Pretty Dark.
