Chapter 31
(In Virgil's Point A View)
I knew as soon as I came back to the hospital that Jo would pick up that something is wrong. Tin-Tin was with Jo and our two boys.
"Virgil what has happened?"
"We have just lost our home, Mum and Holly both got out safe but Samuel and Laura ended up trapped in the fire. They both are fine thank goodness. Jo I know who did this but I didn't think that she would go this far. Look while Rebecca is having her operation I want to go and help investigate this."
"Okay why don't you get everyone into a hotel and get some rest, I just got word that Rebecca will be going down at 08:30 am so I would really like you back here for that."
"I guess you are right Jo," I said while taking Scotty into my arms and I knew since we were here then we might as well get Scotty booked in for his check-up.
"Virgil try not to worry about things like this, we will pull through like we always do. If she did do this then we will get her put away again." Said Jo while putting her hand on my arm. Just then Mum comes back in with Robyn and Joshua.
"Why don't we head to a hotel and take Robyn and the boys to get a good night's sleep? Jo are you coming back with us?"
"I was meant to be staying here with Rebecca so I don't know if I should leave her."
"Let me go and find Dr Manning and ask her about you leaving. Now that Rebecca is hooked up to drips then she is in good hands." I said, so I went to find Dr Manning to see if it would okay for Jo to leave Rebecca. I needed my wife to get a good night sleep too and she won't get it sleeping in a hospital chair.
"Hey Virgil were you looking for me?" asked Dr Manning with a smile
"Yes we were wondering if I can take Jo back to a hotel with us? She doesn't want to leave Rebecca but I want her to get a full night's sleep. We will be back in the morning so we can walk Rebecca down for her operation."
"That should be okay and I will get someone to look in on her tonight. Just try to be back here early for Rebecca going down. I'll come with you to say to Jo."
"Thank you and would you be able to make an appointment for Scotty while we are here? It's been a few weeks now."
"No problem Virgil." Said Dr Manning as we walked back into Rebecca's hospital room. Just then Jo looked over.
"Is everything okay?"
"Everything is fine Jo; I am just here to let you know that it's okay to leave Rebecca. I will get someone to check in on her during the night. She will be in very good hands. Just go and get some rest and I will see you both in the morning."
So we made our way into a hotel, Mum had took Robyn in with her and Holly, while we took Joshua and Scotty in with us. We got ourselves settled and just went to bed. We managed to get a good night's sleep plus Joshua and Scotty had slept a full night only waking up for once for a feed.
The next morning we both made our way down for some breakfast where we met Mum with Robyn and Holly, the minute we walked in Mum could see that we had smiles on our faces.
"Well, I know that look all too well."
"What look?"
"I take it that both Joshua and Scotty slept the whole night and only waking once for a feed. Am I right in thinking this?"
"Yep, both boys did alright and I am glad that I came with you all rather than stay in a hospital chair. I feel better now that I have had a good night's sleep." Said Jo as we had some breakfast, about half an hour later we decided that we should be making a move to the hospital. Mum had told us that she would be happy to look after Robyn and Joshua for today. I told Jo that I had set up an appointment for Scotty while we were there.
We arrived at the hospital and Dr Manning came out to meet us and to walk back up to Rebecca's room to find a nurse was in with her. "Hey is everything alright?" I asked hoping that nothing would go wrong.
"Hey my name is Maggie and I have been looking after Rebecca the last few hours, everything is going to plan and we will be heading down in about 10 minutes or so. Are you both coming down with her to see her into the OR?"
"We both will be walking down with her; Can I give my little girl a cuddle now?" Asked Jo with a small smile. Maggie just gave a nod and Jo lifted Rebecca out. Just then Maggie had seen that I had Scotty in my arms.
"And who is this lovely boy here?"
"Oh this is our youngest baby Scotty, he has a small appointment here just after we take Rebecca down. He is part of a triplet birth." I explained while Jo sorted a bottle for him to take.
"Did Scotty have an operation here?"
"He did a few weeks ago to fix a whole in his heart, he seems fine now and since we were here we thought about getting Scotty checked out." Said Jo
So together we walked down with Rebecca in my arms so that she could have her operation. Jo had kissed Rebecca on the fore head and I walked her into the operating room and placed her on the table. Once she fell asleep and ready, we headed back up again so that Scotty could have his appointment.
Dr Manning had met us again so that we could take Scotty for his appointment, she lead us into a room to wait on Dr Rhodes coming in. we were there for a few minutes but while we are waiting Jo gave Scotty has bottle.
"Hello Mr and Mrs Tracy, well this boy looks happy here, has there been any problems since his operation a few weeks ago?" asked Dr Rhodes with a smile.
"He seems fine and we haven't had any problems at all, he is nearly six months old and is doing really well. We have been keeping a good eye on things." I explained with a smile. Jo had put Scotty onto the bed so that Dr Rhodes could look him over for us.
"We were here anyway with our baby girl so we thought that we would get Scotty checked out now."
"Well from the looks of things he seems fine and his heart checks out okay, we will still keep an eye on things and I'll see you both again in another four months' time.
After that appointment was over we decided to head back to the hotel. As we are heading back John calls me on my phone. "Hey John is anything wrong?"
"Please tell me that you are on your way back to the hotel?"
"We are why?"
"You two aren't going to like what I have to tell you."
"What is it?"
"It's Robyn, she called me in a panic, she says that there is a strange lady in their hotel room and she thinks that she is armed. Robyn managed to get Joshua and they are both in the bathroom hiding. Robyn is too scared to even look to see what is going on, I will keep her talking till you both get there."
"Okay John could you go ahead and call PD, I will need backup and if she is armed I need to find a way to getting both Robyn and Joshua to safety. Luckily we are just next door and there is a balcony between our rooms."
"F.A.B. Virgil call me when you are in your hotel room, Do I need to call Dad to send Scott over?"
"Not yet let's leave and see how we go from here; I will let you know if we need Scott out. I said as we arrived into our hotel room. We made our way into our room and I went out to the balcony. So I could see if there was access through to the other room that Mum and Holly were in. I could see that the balcony door was laying open, so I went back into our room to say to Jo.
"Right there is access to Mum's room through the balcony, the doors are open, can you stay here with Scotty? I am going to try and get in and see if I can get to Robyn and Joshua."
"I really don't want you going in there without back up, anything could be happening in there."
"Look Jo I really have to go in there, there will be backup on the way. I just need to get to our children. Trust me I will be fine. I said while putting my hands on my wife's shoulders. So I went out onto the balcony to see that the bathroom window was half open. We were both on the 5th floor and I knew that I would need help with getting to my children. I decided to call for help, luckily after I called it didn't take squad 3 to get to us. So I went down to meet Severide and give him a run down with what is happening.
"So Virgil what is happening up there?"
"Well we have a lady who is holding my Mother and Sister hostage. Robyn managed to take Joshua into the bathroom to hide away from them. Plus this lady is armed is armed, I didn't want to go in there without a plan.
