Gaspar was sitting on a large pile of bandits, which he had just taken down, and was looking up at the moon.

"S-so strong."

"What kind of magic is this?"

Gaspar then looked down at them. "Now, how should you die?"

"Please… Please spare us! We'll never attack another village again, I swear!"

"Maybe I won't kill you this time since it is a special day," said Gaspar and opened his locket, which contained a picture of his sister. "The day that an angel was born. Go on, I want you to wish her a happy birthday."

'Who is that?' said the bandit looking at him utterly terrified.

"Celebrate her with every fibre of your being before you die," said Gaspar.

"So you are going to kill us?"

It was morning in Huttsgalor, and Duggard had just received letters and the monthly allowance from Dak and Leyla.

"We just received a monthly delivery, Hannahr," said Duggard.

"That wonderful, chief," said Hannahr.

"And according to Leyla, she's just made Junior Knight, First Class," said Duggard going over Leyla's letter.

"He's managed to jump the rankings back quickly in just two months," said Hannahr, stunned. "But what about Dak? I was under the impression that he was then the capital as well during the attack."

"Apparently, he's made Junior Knight, Third Class," said Duggard as he looked over Dak's letter.

Finngard had placed his ear against the door when he heard that Dak and Leyla's letters had arrived.

'Dak is doing much better than everyone thought he would,' he said. "I've got to go until the entire village; they would want to know about our village heroes!"

At the Golden Dawn headquarters, Leyla was wandering through the Plaza when Klaus and Maple approached him.

"Leyla," said Klaus, and she stopped in her tracks. "I've heard that you've been promoted to Junior Knight, First Class."

"Congratulations," said Maple.

"I'm not really sure if I earned it; I mean, I had to be rescued by Captain Hiccup," she reminded them.

"Nice to see that it's not going to your head at the very least," said Klaus. "Never forget that I am your better in both rank and experience."

"Is everything all right, sir?" Maple asked.

Klaus then pulled out a bag of coins. "Take it. A promotion gift from your superior, you keep that for yourself. I know where all your earnings go."

He then walked off without saying another word.

"He doesn't always know how to express his emotions," said Maple. "I wish you had gotten to see it, though. He was so happy when he heard about your promotion; I think his glasses were sparkling."

"Really, never would have guessed," Leyla smiled.

At the Black Dragon hideout, Hiccup had gathered everyone in the living area.

"All right, listen up," he said. "Our wages have come in, so there's no work today."

Upon hearing this, everyone immediately cheered.

"Okay, time to start training," said Dak as he began doing push-ups ferociously.

"Hiccup, sir, thank you," said Magnus. "Great call as usual!"

"Time for a drink or three," said Vanessa as he poured herself a glass of wine.

"Well, you know what that calls for second helpings," said Charmy as she began eating the treats on the table.

"It's time for some fun," said Ruffnut.

"I think perhaps I should get my beard trimmed," said Tuffnut as he stroked his fake beard.

"All right, it's time to get busy," said Finral excitedly.

Grey just grieved up some smoke.

Hiccup looked at Gaspar. "Oh yeah, Gaspar. That bandit thing yesterday, good job."

"Today is my little sister Marie's birthday. You think I can extend my time off until her next birthday?" Gaspar asked.

"Of course not," said Hiccup.

"Free time," said Luck as he began swinging his fists. "Man, I hope somebody attacked the capital again. Oh hey, maybe I should do it?"

"That is an even bigger no," said Hiccup.

"Your luck with money goes up if you polish gold," said Gordon as he began polishing gold Royal.

"I guess nobody feels like working," said Adelaide.

Charmy then opened her grimoire. "Cotton Creation Magic: Sheep Cook!"

Then suddenly appearing were her personal chefs, and they immediately began cooking with incredible speed. In just a short few minutes, they laid out a massive spread on the table.

"Stuff my face," she said and began eating.

Dak recognised the food she was eating. "I know those, but there's no way."

"They are a speciality in Huttsgalor that will lie provisions come from," she said happily. "Give them a try."

Dak immediately bit into one and realise they were indeed pop potatoes. "So good! Thank you!"

The rest of the Black Dragons then began to try out the pop potatoes treats.

"They are pretty dense, must really be in high in fibre," said Hiccup.

"It's super crumbly," said Luck.

"Amazing how it sucks out all the moisture out of your mouth," said Magnus.

"These would make for a really good bar snack," said Vanessa.

Grey also tried some, but only smoking out of his mouth.

"Every time I bite into what, I just want to eat more," said Charmy.

Gaspar just left the hideout looking at the picture of his sister, thinking what to get her for her birthday.

"Now, what would be a worthy tribute to my little goddess on her birthday?" he pondered.

"It's time," said Finral. "Ladies of the Clover Kingdom, get ready. Here comes—"

"Hold on, a second Romeo," said Hiccup rubbing his shoulder.

"Oh right, of course," said Finral looking back at him. "You want me to take you to the capital to see your wife, huh, captain."

"That's correct; you can then go flirting with every single girl you come across afterwards," said Hiccup.

Adelaide was walking around the base to figure out what to do for the day.

"What now?" she said. "I get a day off completely out of nowhere, and there's nothing to do."

"Magnus!" said Dak's voice. "Sorry to bother you, but if you have time, can you please drop me off somewhere on your awesome broom."

"Oh, how can I say no when you ask so polite like that?" Magnus smiled. "So when you want to go?"

"Nean," said Dak.

Adelaide recognised the name. 'Wait, I know that place. It's where the boys went for that stupid mixer.'

"Sure, so what are you going, therefore?" Magnus asked.

"Well, uh…" said Dak awkwardly.

Adelaide narrowed her eyes because she had an idea. 'Well, say it.'

"Think we can talk on the way?" Dak asked, rubbing the back of his head.

'Oh, come on!' Adelaide yelled furiously. 'Not that I care what he does or who he or may not be going to see. It's simple curiosity, that's all.'

"Well, are you coming?" Magnus asked as he mounted his broom.

"What? Like now?" Dak blinked.

"It's now or never; it's your call."

"Now is good," he said quickly and then mounted the broom.

"Get ready and hold on tight," said Magnus as they lifted off the ground.

Adelaide then watched them as they left looked utterly frustrated. "Okay, maybe I do care."

Dak wasn't the only one heading to Nean as Gaspar was wandering through the streets. Upon seeing him, everyone immediately gave him a wide berth.

'Greetings, my darling sister Marie,' said Gaspar. 'I've just arrived at the village where you live. Being a Magic Knight isn't easy, but I don't mind as I'm doing it for you. And with my wages, I can buy the presents you deserve.'

Before he was a Magic Knight, Gaspar was, in fact, that escaped prisoner. Both he and his sister were turned out on the streets, and he had to steal to support them, but eventually, he got caught.

'Me former prisoner, living on the life of the straight and narrow,' he said to himself. 'It's thanks to you, Marie, my angel made flesh. I do it for you.'

"Gaspar, sir," said a voice, and he turned to find the owner of the local toy shop standing beside him. "We've been waiting for you. If you would please step inside, we have prisons ready for your perusal."

"Show me immediately," he said as he made his way to the store.

"Right away," he said and began to show him around. He then immediately showed him towards some stuffed animals. "First up, we have these! Perfect for a little girl; they all just love stuffed animals. One of these will make sure to put a smile on her face."

Gaspar froze when he pictured Marie playing with the toys, and his nose began to bleed. "Yes, I'll take them all…"

"Certainly, sir."

He then pulled him towards a dollhouse. "Our next item! She'll be playing with this for hours, imagining herself living in such a place. A perfect home she would share with her brother naturally."

Once again, his nose began to bleed as he pictured the scene. "I'll take that too."

"Excellent, sir."

He then gestured towards an angel outfit. "Last but not least, with this costume, your sister can be a real angel."

Gaspar pictured her wearing it, and this time he bled so much he fell to the floor. "The whole store, I wanted all."

"Always a pleasure, sir," he said as Gaspar gave him three bags of gold.

At the same time, Magnus was escorting Dak to Nean, and he explained his reason for visiting the village.

"What? You're visiting some girls you met at a mixer?" said Magnus, stunned.

"Sure am; I promised Rebecca that I'll come and play with her brothers and sisters sometime."

"Go, Dak," said Magnus. "Your first mover, already bringing along the whole family in on your date. I'm proud of you, buddy."

"Thanks," said Dak.

"Hey, Nean's other head," said Magnus as he saw the village coming into view.

"All right, I can't wait to meet Rebecca's siblings," said Dak.

"Just take it easy, boy," said Magnus as he came in for a landing.

It was afternoon, and Gaspar was making his way towards the church where his sister was living, carrying all the presents he had bought for her. It was quite a scene as blood was dripping from his nose with every step he took, though he didn't care what they thought of him.

'Greetings, my beloved little sister, Marie,' said Gaspar. 'Please forgive your brother whose blood loss has made him tardy. I bought you so many birthday presents. I hope they will bring you great joy. All of my wages are gone now, but no price is too high for your happiness. Soon I'll see my precious angel again and that smiling face of hers. Ah, my darling Marie.'

He then turned around the corner and then did his utter shock he found Dak was playing with her. She was holding onto his arm, laughing as he spun her around.

"You like that, Marie," Dak laughed.

"So fun!" Marie smiled. "You're really strong, Dak."

"I want a turn," said a little girl.

"Me too," said a little boy.

Dak smiled at them. "Okay, come on and—"

He was then suddenly kicked in the face and was pinned to the ground by Gaspar.

"Get away from her right now, you scum," Gaspar roared.

"Oh, it's you, Gaspar," said Dak.

"I'll squash you," Gaspar threatened.

"That's not going to happen, not the way I've been training," said Dak.

'Shut up!' Gaspar growled furiously. "I only get to see my sister once a month, which means these visits are sacrosanct. Today I set aside all other thoughts, ready to spoil my Marie in every way possible. It was supposed to be flirty and fun and perfect, so how is it that you showed up here before me?"

"Boy, you really do have a sister complex and get nosebleeds," said Dak and then pointed towards Marie. "And how was I supposed to know she was your sister?"

Gaspar then grabbed the hem of his shirt and lifted him off his feet. "Stop pointing your grubby little finger at my angel. I know that I showed you her picture, don't lie!"

"I don't really remember," said Dak as he tried to breathe. "I method today when I went over to Rebecca's to play with her brothers and sisters."

"Uh, hi," said Rebecca.

Both the little boy and girl, who happened to be Rebecca sisters, then immediately grabbed hold of her apron.

"He's really scary," said the little girl.

"What's flirty mean? I don't know that word," said the little boy.

"Shh," Rebecca hissed.

"Marie is cute, that's for sure," said Dak.

Gaspar responded by throwing him onto the ground and placing his foot on top of him. "Of course, she's cute, but that doesn't mean you have permission to make eyes at my sister, you filth!"

"Stop it, Big Brother!" Marie pleaded. "I don't want you to do mean things to him! Please, Dak is going to be my husband someday!"

Gaspar just stood there, completely stunned.

Unbeknownst to them, Adelaide was watching from behind an alleyway, and she was just as stunned.

'Her husband?' Adelaide stared. 'When I tag along with them, that was not what I was expecting.'

Adelaide had to order a taxi to follow Dak to Nean, and the cabbie was standing behind her.

"Uh, the fare, Miss," said the cabbie awkwardly.

Adelaide then quickly pulled out a few coins. "Will this be enough?"

'Heck ya,' he said, looking at all the coins.

Gaspar then slowly rose to his feet. "Kill… kill."

"Uh, you okay?" Dak asked.

"Kill… kill… kill!" he yelled, looking directly at Dak with vengeful eyes.

Everyone immediately began to panic.

Gaspar then opened his grimoire. "Mirror Magic: Reflects Ray!"

Then suddenly appearing next to him was a mirror, and then a beam of light immediately shot out of it towards Dak. Thankfully he was able to lean back in time to avoid it, but he toppled over.

"Hey, what are you doing with that mirror?" Dak asked.

"Now die," said Gaspar.

He then fired several beams at Dak, who had to dance around in order to avoid them while Rebecca kept her sibling safe.

"Please stop, don't hurt him!" Marie pleaded.

"Oh my, it's awfully noisy out here," said a voice.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked up to see a small old woman holding a cane had appeared. She was wearing a black robe indicating that she was a priestess to the local church.

"Marie, it's time to go," she said to Marie. "You need to get back to the church now."

"Sister," said Marie.

Gaspar narrowed his eyes, and a sister noticed him.

"I see, so you're here, Gaspar," she said, looking at him distastefully.

"That's right, hag."

"That sister to you. Mind your manners."

"Marie and I are going on a date; you can head back to the church on your own."

"No, Gaspar, she's coming. The sooner you accept that, the better for us all. When are you going to realise that you're no good for an impressionable young girl like Marie? She deserves to be around someone better than you, with your bad attitude and nasty tongue."

"What was that, you old crone?"

"There see," she said, proving her point.

"Just drop dead," said Gaspar as he approached.

"A nice thing to say to an old woman nearing the end of her life, thoughtless fool," she said, approaching him.

"Says the demon witch will live for another hundred years or two or three!"

"Only a thug would resort to that sort of name-calling."

"Shut up, you worthless hag!"

Dak had heard enough and immediately placed himself between the two of them. "Hold on a sec, you can't just talk to an elderly woman of the cloth-like that! It's just wrong!"

"Nobody asked you to get involved, now back off!" Gaspar roared.

"Just go home," said the sister and then grabbed Marie's hand. "Come on now, Marie."

"Bye, Gaspar! Bye Dak! I had fun!" Marie waved.

Gaspar just looked crestfallen as she walked away. "No, Marie!"

"Bye, Marie!" Dak waved and then looked down at Gaspar, who laid motionless on the ground. "Hey, are you going to be okay?"

"He's really weird," said Rebecca's younger brother, Marco, poking Gaspar with a stick.

"You hungry?" Rebecca asked, looking at Dak. "We can go and grab some food at the restaurant while your Knight friend recovers. You can hmm, stay the night at our place if you want."

"You mean it?" Dak asked.

"Stay! Stay!" said Rebecca's younger siblings.

Adelaide just stared in horror. 'Spend the night? Are you kidding? Sleeping at the house of a woman you just met. That's madness! Madness!'

"I had a great time today; Dak is really funny," said Marine looking up at the sister.

"The obnoxious loud boy?"

"Yeah!"

Unbeknownst to them, someone was watching from the shadows; he gave a small and then walked away.

Later that night, Dak was eating at the restaurant where Rebecca worked.

"Have some more," said Rebecca's youngest sister Lily.

Gaspar was lying on the ground, still distraught.

"Here, we like some berries, birdie?" Rebecca's younger sister Luna asked, placing a plate of berries in front of Nero.

Nero looked at the berries and, in no time, gobbled them all up.

"Wow," said Luna.

"Man, every bite is better than the last one," said Dak.

"Really? Thank you," Rebecca smiled.

"You know you would make a good wife with your cooking skills," Dak smiled.

Rebecca's face turned pink. "I wasn't going for that."

Adelaide was disguised as a patriot and was deeply frustrated. 'This is ridiculous. Cooking skills are the only thing that makes someone a good wife.'

She was so frustrated that her master began to go out of control, and her glass of water overflowed.

While Rebecca continued to cook, Marco tugged on her apron. "Hey, sis, are you going to marry Dak someday?"

Rebecca became all flustered. "No, why would you say that?"

Adelaide was finding it extremely difficult to control her anger and her magic. 'Yeah, right? Over my dead body!'

This time she was so frustrated that the water every single glass in the restaurant shot towards the ceiling like a geyser.

"So, sis, are you going to make a move while he's here?" Luna asked.

Adelaide emphatically fainted upon hearing this causing the water to dispel, leaving all the patrons rather confused.

"No!" said Rebecca. "Where did that come from, Luna?"

Her baby brother, Pem, who was strapped to her back, then began to encourage her.

"Pem, you too. I don't need all of you ganging up on me," she groaned. 'Make a move on him? No, that would just be crazy.'

It was now late at night, Adelaide was outside trying to keep warm, and even though it was summer, it was absolutely freezing.

'I never thought I would miss Magnus' Exploding Fireball,' she said, shivering. 'Why is it so cold. It's not even winter.'

Then she saw snow falling from the sky, which was even more confusing.

Hovering above the village on a broom was a young man in a white coat; he used his grimoire to let it snow. Then children began to wander out of their homes and water the village in a trance.

Adelaide just looked at them, confused.

Dak was currently sleeping inside Rebecca's house, and Rebecca herself was still wide awake. What a sibling said to her during dinner left her completely flustered.

'Stupid… ridiculous… insane,' she said, hugging her pillow tightly. 'I would never do that.' She then quickly sat up. 'I'll just check to make sure that Luna and Marco are asleep. Maybe then I can get some rest.'

She then left the bedroom.

Dak was completely soundlessly when someone entered his room and unfortunately wasn't Rebecca, but a very vengeful Gaspar.

"It's time for you to die," he said and opened his grimoire. "Mirror Magic: Reflect Ray!"

He then summoned a mirror by his side and then fired a beam directly at Dak's head. Fortunately, at that very moment, he turned in his sleep, so the beam only grazed him, but it was enough to burn his nose.

He then immediately woke up screaming. "What the heck is going on here?"

"Die, Dak!" said Gaspar.

"W-why?" said Dak looking completely confused.

"I will never allow you to marry Marie, and there is one foolproof way of preventing it," he said and fired another beam.

Dak quickly pulled out his Demon Dweller Sword and used it to block Gaspar's attack.

"Come on, it's just something that kids say," said Dak, quickly blocked yet another attack. "Also, I was asleep, you jerk!"

Gaspar kept on firing beams, but Dak kept on blocking them.

"You can call me whatever you want, so long as I get to kill you," said Gaspar. "Mirror Magic: Real Double!"

There was a flash of light, then suddenly, to Dak's astonishment, they were now to Gaspars. 'Two Gaspars? And mirror shooting death beams? What's up with this guy's magic anyway?'

"You have been found guilty of the crime of meeting my little sister," said the Gaspars in unison and then quickly find more beams.

"Aren't a lot of people guilty of that?" said Dak as he attempted to block their attacks.

"Just shut up, and I," they said, not letting up with their attacks.

Dak could not stop them all and was then sent flying straight through the wall and outside.

"We don't even live here," Dak moaned before he hit the ground. It was then that he noticed that there was snow covering the village. "What? There's snow everywhere. Where did it all come from? It's not even winter yet."

"That's not important right now," said Gaspar and then fired another beam at him. "Die!"

Dak quickly rolled out of the way before it hit, and then Rebecca stepped outside.

"Hey, stop it! What are you doing out here?" she yelled.

"I'm sorry, things got out of hand," said Dak.

"Never mind, it's the children then missing," he said frantically.

"What?" Dak gasped.

It wasn't just Rebecca's siblings that were missing; parents from every single house in the village stepped outside looking for their children frantically.

"Lance! Where are you?"

"Christopher!"

"Rose is missing too."

"No," said Dak.

The children were walking up the side of a hill within the snow, completely in a trance. Hovering above them on a broom was the young man in the white coat.

"How exciting, I just love making new friends," he said.
