Chapter 30 – Truths & Lies

(Earth-1610)

Bedroom, Safehouse One River Road (9:00pm)

"Andy? Andy?!"

Andy jolts, and gasps. His eyes stung wild. He sits on a hospitalized bed, in a room that looks like Medfield, but it's contaminated with vines, dust. The Room also included wooden bunk beds, and other hospitalized beds as well.

Andy finds Peter B Peni, and Tom, by his side, Noir and Porker bickering at the doorway, Miles sitting besides Gwen on a hospitalized bed. She had a punctured wound in her gut, gushing blood every now and then, as she winces to every pain.

"Where am I?" Andy said.

"Your fine. You hadn't rest in a long time." Said Peter. "More like nine-hours of sleep, ya know?"

"Where's Cindy?" He said.

Tom glances at the wooden bunk bed and Cindy was sleeping on the bunk bed.

"Want me to wake her?" Peter said.

"No, leave her." He said.

"Okay, Oh, by the way." Peter takes out a folder and a paper bag. "Jessica wanted to give this to you."

Peter drops them on the night table. Andy squints at them

"Just don't do anything stupid. it'll help you. A gift from Jessica." Peter hands it to him. "I think we should get going. Jessica would want us at the meeting table."

"I'll see you there, then." Andy said.

"No, not you. You need to rest. We'll brief you in when we come back."

Andy opens his mouth, but got the point, He slumps.

"C'mon Miles." Peter said.

Andy looks to Miles. his hands were intertwined with Gwen's. He leaves with the group.

Andy took a moment to look at Gwen, who closed her eyes. He then witnesses that punctured wound, slowly healing itself, as there was no hole in her no more, just a tear in her suit.

He then squints at the strange file, that was sitting at a table, from Alchemax. He grabs it, and opens it. It shows, Andy's photo. His dossier. His full name, his birth, place of origin, and background were all correct. His eyes gape at one information. His dimension. His dimension was 120703. He squints. He flips the page, and notes were jotted in proper handwriting.

"The genetic fusion of Cindy Moon was a success! However, Collider destabilized and sent Peter Parker of 120703 somewhere in the past. we cannot pinpoint where exactly. However, he is somewhere in this world. But we can only theorize it. For now… – Doctor Octavius 5/2/2019"

Andy scratches his head. He searches in the folder and finds Cindy's documents. Her information was unknown, had a origin of birth. He reads the DNA fusion. 1610 to 120703 and TRN414…

120703!

Andy puts the dossiers side by side. He gapes as the numbers 120703 match his own universe. Andy flips the Cindy's dossier and finds another sticky note. It reads.

'She's your daughter Andy...'

First Floor, Sleeping area, Safe House One River Road (9:59pm)

Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Miles thought to himself, as he stares at the dark sky. He thought of the first few topics from the meeting.

The Collider's Location.

The plan to get them home.

They had to wait one more day to ensure all surviving Spider-children arrive before dawn.

Miles detests.

He runs a hand through his face. He scans the giant hall of the Spider-Gang and the Spider-Army sleeping safe and sound. One sleeping bag was missing. Miles squints and looks at the door to an emergency exit staircase. He catches a shadow. Miles squints and investigates.

Miles enters the staircase and gazes all the way up, and down. He finds Tom on the way up and stares at Miles.

"Oh Hey. I just needed a breather." Tom said.

Miles looks to him. "Yeah, I feel you."

Tom breathes and scratches his head. "I'm sorry for. Everything."

Miles raises an eyebrow.

Tom had a cold breeze swimming by. "I'm sorry. For what happened at the school."

Miles squints. "You were there?"

"No! I was at May's. But I wish I was." Tom said, "It's hard to been realized that. They know you now. I know, that, you're struggling to come to that. Right?"

"What do you mean?" Miles raises an eyebrow.

Tom breathes into his hands, his breath steam through the air.

"I screwed up a lot and it cost my identity to the world." Tom presses his lips. "And I couldn't take it anymore."

Miles looks in squints, then gapes. He looks into his jacket and finds the sunglasses from Stark industries. Tom gulps. Miles opens the glasses and finds the signature: For Peter. "I found this at Boston, when I. Ye know."

"R- Ruh- Really?" Tom stutters.

"Yeah." Miles hands the glasses to him. "Has your name on it. Well with Peter not… Tom."

"Thanks."

"Yeah. See you around, Tom." He pats his shoulder and walks away. Tom stares him down.

Front Entrance, Safehouse One River Road (10:30pm)

Miles exits the safehouse. He wore his suit and his backpack. He checks his phone and sees more than a hundred miss calls from his mom and millions of texts. Miles reads through the text from his mom. Asking where he's been. But his heart stops and gape at one message. "Answer me! Por favor! Your father is dying! Come home!"

Miles sprints through bushes and small plants. No. No No. No. No. This can't be! He can't die! Ha can never die! He arrives at the Hudson River. He finds a steamboat dock with an admission of ten dollars. Guaranteeing a one-day trip to Manhattan! He was panting. Dad please don't die yet. He runs across the bridge. His Spider-Senses tingle, he sighs and finds Peter, Peni, Noir, Porker, and Gwen.

"Miles? What are you doing out here?" Peter looks at his stuff, then squints. "You're leaving?"

Miles looks to the boat and pulls his mask. "Look guys. This isn't about the whole thing, which I still believe, But, I have to go home."

Peni steps forward. "I miss my family too. But your world is in danger and these kids need a home, they need you. Remember what happened when you brought us home?"

"Yeah! C'mon Miles, we need you!" Porker jumps on Noir.

Everyone starts jumping on top of each other's voices. Miles was glancing back and forth, at them, the boat, and that text that he just couldn't let by. Dad is dying Miles... "Guys. No. I can't. Stop. No. NO!"

The gang gives him a deep stare.

"I never asked to be this, ok! I tried and look at what happened! You know why they call it Day 18 as a more historic then nine-eleven?! Death numbers exceeded that, people die on that day! Because of me! Now I'm going home. Good Luck with everything."

Miles walks away.

"Miles." Peter said.

He turns. Peter glances the gang. He steps forward.

"It's not your fault."

Miles shakes his head. "What?"

"about them…" he glances at the boat, as Miles clearly gets the message

"They wouldn't be dead if we'd left after dinner!" Miles said. "Aaron wouldn't been dead if I hadn't pulled my mask! And My Dad has hours left to live!" He shows the text from his mom, while clenching ,his fist, and holding back tears.

Peter sighs. "We always find a way."

"No! No Peter! This isn't about us! It's about me!" Miles said. "It's Why I can't be this Peter! I cant be this anymore!"

Miles saw their faces. It was as if the most traumatizing thing he's ever said. Because they knew he would never say something like that. But he's broken, he's too broken.

"It's just not for me. Goodbye Peter." He walks away. A tear shines his eyes, as he wipes it.

He feels arms wrapping his body, squeezing it. He finds Gwen giving him a warm hug. Miles stares at Peter. He gave him a look of pity and sighs.

The boat screeches it's horn from the river. Miles gazes. Gwen let's go.

"Three minutes before departure!" The captain shouts.

"I. I gotta go."

Miles pulls his mask and swings to the boat and hides behind an exhaust pipe. He finds his friends staring at him with a deep sympathy and sadness from the bridge. He gazes at them, perhaps for the last time.
