Chapter 31
Takarada-san…
I'm sorry to tell you, but Aruba, The Bahamas, and Paris are off the list. We need to take into consideration that quite a few of the family members and friends simply do not have the financial resources to make those trips; however, they may be submitted as suggestions for the honeymoon. Perhaps something a bit closer to Japan. Not in Japan mind you, but close. Japan will be put under consideration only if the event can be hosted covertly. Without the media involved or any chance that they could discover the event. However, Guam or another similar location would be acceptable and will be submitted for a vote on the aforementioned website.
Thank you
Kanae Kotonami
Kanae groaned. Her fingers were starting to get sore from writing all of these emails. She didn't even want to think of the headache that Sho was suffering from, dealing with all of the entries, and things he had to deal with on the website. Juli had already submitted 40 different dress designs, none of them seemed to fit what Kanae envisioned for Kyoko. Yukihito and Anita had thankfully narrowed down the invitations and whatnot to 3 different stationary types, 4 watermarks, and 12 designs. At least theirs were more in tune with what Kyoko was fond of. The fairies, butterflies, and angel feathers were far more in line with what they were going for, than what Juli was submitting for the wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses. Some were way too revealing and others just shouldn't be even considered for a wedding. She thought perhaps she should give Juli a bit more input. She'd thought that Juli would at least remember how fairy tale obsessed Kyoko was. Kanae made a note to herself to call Juli later and discuss it with her.
Kuu and Takatsuki-san were just clipping along with the menu suggestions and had it narrowed it down to a harmonious mix of Japanese and American cuisine. They had 3 hors d'oeuvres, 2 appetizers, 4 side dishes, and 3 entrees. Kuu had a friend that was a mixologist that already had 4 drink ideas that fit with the theme.
Kurosaki-san had already found a filmographer that he trusted implicitly, and had the photographers narrowed down to six well known artists that he knew wouldn't treat it as their own personal photo-shoot and try to make things go their way as most of them were known to do. He had been very clear to them that this was for his only daughter's wedding and if they decided to make it into something of their own, he would ruin them. She chuckled at the thought of the overprotective father he'd become over the years since they had first met him, and discovered he was her father.
One arm around her waist, and a hand holding the hand of his son. He wanted to stay this way forever, everywhere he went. He had the happiest, most contented smile, and the smiles his little family had matched.
"Kuon, are you sure we'll make our flight?" She asked a little worried. Everything had been so completely leisurely this morning: from the check out at the hotel, to the check in for their flight.
He chuckled and kissed her temple. "Trust me… They can't leave without us." He assured her. Of course he hadn't mentioned to her that they would be taking a private flight to their location, as provided by Lory. The man had called him personally to congratulate him, and gifted him the use of his own personal jet for the duration of their travels. Kuon had secretly mentioned it to Shin, but not Kyoko. He wanted it to be a complete surprise for her. Not to mention that he would be able to pamper her and treat her as the queen he felt she was this way.
Shin smirked and shook his little head at the pair. He honestly wasn't sure how spoiled he and his mom were going to be by the time he was an adult. He didn't think he would ever get used to all of this kind of attention, Kyoko just didn't raise him this past six years to be treated like royalty so thoroughly. Not that he was complaining, heavens no! He loved it! His mom was the happiest he'd ever seen her and he was pretty sure that this plane trip was going to be the most relaxing and fun than they'd ever experienced. He looked up at his parents and smiled in satisfaction.
Well, she knew that those designs weren't exactly what the 'Old Kyoko' would like, but she was thinking of a more mature, mother of a son, traveled the world, business wise Kyoko. However, Kanae did say that it needed a more fairy tale vibe than what she was producing and as the gods as her witness, she would definitely make Kyoko look like a fully fledged princess, especially after that adorable video that was sent to every close friend and family member.
Actually, Juli was more than a little excited about it. She and Kuu never really had that dream wedding that she'd wanted. They'd both had to work and theirs was a quick, private ceremony that really didn't include the family and friends to celebrate it as it deserved. At the time, she had a falling out with every member of her family, except her own father, and even he didn't attend because her mother didn't approve of her marrying Kuu or keeping Kuon. Just thinking about it still made her feel a little sour in her heart over it. There are just some things that can't be taken back once they are done or said. They can be forgiven, but they are harder than hell to forget. She was relieved that Kyoko and Kuon had forgiven her and Kuu for what had happened those years ago. She was also thankful that her son was so incredibly stubborn when it came to his new little family. A thought that always brought a smile to her face.
"I thought you'd already finished and submitted those." Kuu kissed her cheek and glanced over the new drawings at her art table.
Juli giggled and shook her head. "Kanae said that they didn't fit the theme of the wedding, and I think she's right. We're going for European Princess and I put in too much Hollywood Glam."
"Ah, I see." He agreed with her, especially after they'd both seen the Proposal Video.
"How's the menu coming along?" She asked, uncapping a pale yellow pen. Whatever the case, the trim on the wedding dress had to be in gold thread to give it that royal vibe.
"Mmm, going good. We've already sent the suggestions in for a vote when the site goes live in a few days." He commented, snacking on some popcorn he'd made earlier.
She nodded and grabbed a few kernels from his bowl. "What color should I make the bridesmaids' dresses? I've submitted practically a rainbow of colors to Kanae, but she just doesn't seem to be satisfied with them."
Kuu chuckled. "Did you try Royal Blue?" He asked in jest, considering the theme.
She rolled her eyes. "No, but it's a good idea."
