To the Barn

"This," Peridot started, hitting a box with the Earth on it with an elongated finger. "Is the Cluster."

Standing in the living room of the beach house, Peridot stood next to the totally-not-Steven-in-a-box. The gems sat on the couch, watching her with varying expressions. The only notable one was Pink, who's hand twitched when Peridot had smacked Steven the cardboard box.

"It's, as stated previously, a geo-weapon incubating inside the Earth's mantle. Its gem consists of hundreds upon thousands of gem shards."

If the house wasn't already quiet, then it definitely was now. Pearl, Amethyst's, and Pink's eyes widened in horror at the statement. Peridot stopped and looked between the gems, looking uncomfortable from the choking silence.

Garnet's body began shaking as she stood up from the couch and walked out the front door, shaking the entire way. With their eyes locked on the door, they saw a shine and a bunch of incoherent speaking. Pearl gave out a sigh and stood up, "I'll be right back." And made her exit, leaving only Peridot, Amethyst, and Steven the cardboard box.

Pink stared at the front door before looking back at Peridot with a frustrated frown. "Please continue."

But Peridot didn't say anything for a few seconds, basking in the silence before speaking up with narrowed eyes, "No… I sense I've made a miscalculation of some kind."

"No… it's not your problem, we just need to know more about the Cluster." Pink said as she rubbed the side of her head, her fingers getting tangled between her frizzled hair.

Peridot hummed before hitting the cardboard box again. "As I was saying, the Cluster has been incubating for about… four thousand years now. Soon, it will begin gaining its physical form, before-"

The cardboard box with legs began shaking, "Bwoo bwo bwo bwarh!" A hand broke through the front; a green sock with a mouth cut into it and googly eyes glued onto its 'face'.

Peridot jumped back and yelped, "What is that?!"

"It's the Cluster?" Steven said, talking with the puppet. Peridot deadpanned before creating a holoscreen with her fingers.

"I knew I shouldn't have followed your suggestions, The Steven." She muttered before the holoscreen showed an image of a large clump of some kind, but the image replicated shines, making it clear it was supposed to be gems. Well, what used to be gems.

"This is what the final product is meant to look like, but its physical form is unpredictable. Which is why, we need to begin forming a plan." She changed the holoscreen to a blueprint. "I've already made a calculated survival scenario for dealing with the Cluster. It's heavily rushed, but it could act as a foundation for a more planned out course of action."

A group of weird symbols similar to the Monolith screen appeared on Peridot's plan. She tapped a few before it widened and showed a strange vehicle. "Originally, the concept was to drill to the Cluster and break apart its gem before it co-"

"We are not doing that." Pink interrupted curtly, her brow turning downward as she glared. Peridot grimaced at the dirty look and quickly stood up straight. She was ashamed to think that just a single look sent her back in a scared arc.

"That's why I stated that we could use it for a more planned out solution. If you could just let me talk." She groaned before making the holoscreen disappear. She muttered as the holoscreen disappeared and gave her back her fingers. "Now, we'll need to take action as soon as possible."

"Well, if it's way down in the Earth, how are we gonna get it?" Steven asked as he stuck his head out from the hole in the box.

"That's why I thought of making a drill." Peridot said as she glanced at Pink with a slightly smug look. "There's no logical way to reach the Cluster without some sort of device to take us down into the mantle."

Pink met her smugness with a deadpan, before grabbing the bridge of her nose. "I… I agree with the drill, there truly is no other way of getting to such depths. But shattering any gems is… wrong."

Peridot's brow raised as she humphed, "You do realize that the Cluster is barely even a functioning gem at this point? All in all, it would be nothing but a mindless weapon."

Steven looked between the two gems, glancing at Amethyst once or twice. Really, he could feel the tension landing on his skin like a heavy blanket. Amethyst could too, which is probably why she butted into the conversation.

"Okay, so we got a massive planet-destroying weapon beneath us right now. Shouldn't we get started on building this drill thing?" She asked as she looked up at Pink.

"We need details before we can do that, Amethyst." Pink replied, before Steven took the box he was wearing off and brought up another question.

"Where are we gonna build it? I don't think it'd be a good idea to build it in here, since I kinda… sleep here?"

"Yeah, I don't want to hear all that crap when I'm in my room."

"We aren't!" Pink quickly said as she raised her hands. They fell back onto her knees as she bent forward. "We need to set up a place where we can build the drill away from Beach City and humans. While also sticking close to the temple and a warp pad, so…"

"Wait! I know a place!" Steven shouted as he raised up fists in the air. All three turned their heads towards him.

"The barn?" Greg asked as he looked at his son with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah! Look, it's got plenty of space and tons of stuff we can use to build our drill!" Steven said as he pushed open the doors, which looked a bit unnatural due to his size. Light filled the dusty interior as Greg quickly passed him and checked around the junk.

"Be careful in here, I don't know if there's any wild animals or not." He warned as he looked behind different gaps and crevices between the stacks of boxes. Worst case scenario, a family of snakes slither out and cause Steven to have a breakdown by their distressing existence.

While he was searching for any critters, Steven walked away from the barn and joined the gems, who were standing next to each other and deep in conversation.

"But how will we get the fuel? It took me ages to get liquid hydrogen, and humans don't give it away easily." Pearl said as the memory of her failed flight to space echoed in her head.

"If we play our hand right, we might not even need fuel in the first place. But we'll need to figure out what we're building it with as well." Pink added, her palm moving with her words.

"Why not just go steel or metal or something?" Amethyst asked as she shrugged, half listening and half just standing there because there was literally nothing else to do.

"We could, but I don't know if those will be able to hold together so far down in the Earth." Pearl said with doubt lacing her tone.

She rubbed at her chin while Steven said, "Hey, what are you guys plannin'?"

"We're discussing the drill, Steven." Pink answered absentmindedly as she stared off into space. With the look on her face, he assumed she was in deep philosophical debate on the topic.

That was incredibly wrong, but no one could really read thoughts.

'How are we going to build this? Are we organized enough to do it properly? The beach house took years, and that can't even move!' Pink thought with a truckload of angst as she glanced back at the barn. Her gloved hands rubbed against each other as the conversation continued without her.

"So, if we can't use normal stuff, why don't we use gem stuff?"

"Amethyst, it isn't that simple. We can't just… ooooh." Pearl stopped and placed a hand on her forehead. "We can use- but most of the technology left on the planet is thousands of years old and decayed! It'll take too long to scavenge the-"

"Why don't we use the parts from my ship?"

They all looked to the left and saw Peridot walk up, a nervous Greg following behind. He looked nervous to even be near her, no one blamed him for it.

"You did destroy it, remember?"

"Excuse me, we did not destroy it." Pearl corrected, raising a finger while side eyeing her.

"Jasper did it." Garnet said while crossing her arms. Peridot grimaced before rolling her eyes.

"I don't care-"

"Hey guys, I don't mean to interrupt but we're clear in the barn." Greg said as he scooted past Peridot, giving her an awkward glance. The gems simply nodded, but Steven walked up and smiled.

"Now we can use the barn as our headquarters! Does this mean that Universe and Universe Universal Space Travel is back in business?" He asked as he shook his fists up and down.

Both Greg and Pearl both exchanged looks before Greg shook his head.

"Not exactly, Steven. I don't have anything to really do with this."

"And we're not even dwelling in space travel, remember? We're building a drill." Pearl said with a confused look.

"So would that make it Universe and Gems Worldwide Drilling?" Steven asked with a shrug, giving a smile to everyone. Sadly, the joke didn't land with them.

"I… guess?" Pearl said, her confused look only growing more. He gave a sad frown before he visibly sagged. But he didn't keep his downtrodden look and instead marched off to the barn, leaving them to continue their conversation. Greg didn't stick around for long and followed him back.

"So, Steven, are you gonna stay here with them?" Greg asked after they reached the front of the barn, standing next to the wide double doors.

"Yeah, I think they're gonna need my help. We all have to work together if we want to stop the Cluster."

"Cluster huh?" Greg said as he scratched his beard. The edges of it were already conquering his jaw. "Well, if you need anything, you can always come to me!"

"Okay dad!" Steven quickly hugged him by the side, and he returned it just as fast. Although the noticeable difference in height was creeping in his mind.

"You're growing a bit tall Schtu-ball." Greg said as he put his arms on Steven's shoulders.

"I know! I'm taller than Amethyst now!" Steven glanced to the side, before smiling just a bit wider.

"Jeez… guess you're growing up fast," Greg sighed, before bringing him back into a hug. "I'll come by and visit, okay? Just, be safe out here. And hey, if Pink brings any wild animals, don't-"

"Don't pet them, I know!" Steven said with a laugh, making Greg smile weakly afterwards. He left the hug and gave a smile, before walking away. Turning his head back, he waved goodbye.

"See ya' Schtu-ball!"

"Bye dad!" Steven waved back, watching the old man climb into his van and turn the key. As Greg drove away, Steven looked back at the gems. They were still talking, though it seemed to be getting a little heated between Pearl and Peridot.

A part of him wanted to go over and try to help them get along, although the short shake of Garnet's head towards him said it was probably going to be in vain. So he turned back to the barn and rubbed his hands.

"Time to get started."

The planning had moved on from actual words to blueprints. A chalkboard was placed at the entrance of the barn to keep track.

Pearl stood in front of the board, the chalk in her hand slowly disappearing as she wrote. Steven sat on a stool next to her as Garnet, Amethyst, and Pink sat in foldable chairs. Meanwhile, Peridot stood at the side of the board, tapping away at her floating screen as Pearl finished her blueprint.

"So, what we'll need is a base for the drill. This will hold the body and the-"

"What we need is a base for the drill and to hold the body as we begin to rewrite the coding for it to function." Peridot interrupted as she walked in front of Pearl and faced the sitting gems. "For the body, we'll use an escape pod fr-"

"From the destroyed ship Peridot brought to Earth," Pearl did the same thing as Peridot, giving her a death glare. "We can use the exterior of it to hold the internal workings. Now, we'll need to also feed it the Cluster's coordinates."

"We'll need to go to the Prime Kindergarten for more data. I believe the files are stored somewhere in the main control room." Peridot said as she pulled up her screen and tapped it a few times. Pearl growled before coughing into her hand.

"So, now that we have the plan, we should be done in a few weeks. We'll have to get someone to collect the files-"

"You mean I will get the files." Peridot interrupted, finally causing Pearl to snap.

"Oh will you hush up! If you haven't noticed, I've been the one creating all of these plans who-"

"This whole operation was my idea," Peridot ignored the remark pearl made to ehr and turned to the others. "Who taught this Pearl to speak like this?"

She gained hard glares from the three sitting in front of her. "You really need to keep your Pearl in check."

"I have your CHECK RIGHT HERE!" Pearl screamed as she drew back a fist. Before any punches could be thrown by the pale gem, Pink quickly got to her feet.

"That's enough!" She yelled as she stepped between them and held up her hands. "We will not discuss this any longer. Peridot and I will go to the Kindergarten, while Garnet and Pearl will collect an escape pod from the desert."

"Why do I have to travel with you? I'd rather be accompanied by The Steven." Peridot said with a glare, glancing at Steven behind her.

"You can call me Steven, y'know." He said with a faltering grin. She humphed before Pink faced her. The pink gem's hands were curled in fists, a terrifying detail she noticed.

"You don't have much say in the matter, so if we could stop wasting time and collect that data, we might make some progression." Pink spat as she turned and walked away. Peridot scoffed before turning her head to a steaming Pearl and winced.

"W-wait, I'll come with you!" Peridot called out, going after the pink gem. Once they had reached a newly installed warp pad next to a tree, it didn't take two seconds for it to activate and send them off. To say it was the worst awkward pause she's ever felt was correct.

She had given the taller, intimidating gem next to her glance after glance. Her eyes always landed somewhere different with each passing look. They landed on Pink's face first... Pink Diamond's face first. Her jaw was set while a neutral frown hid whatever emotions it could. She looked up at Pink's eyes, the diamond pupils staring at the white light in front of them.

They turned down and met hers. She looked away.

The warp ended and left them standing in the Prime Kindergarten. The wind had kicked up the loose, dead soil and kicked it up in soft plumes that covered the ground. Pink hopped down not a second later, leaving Peridot alone on the warp.

She gritted her teeth and followed. "Wait! You're supposed to be with m-m- WoAH!" In her small tantrum, she stepped off the edge and expected her gravity enhancers to grip on the wall.

They didn't, instead letting her fall off. The drop wasn't long, but would've hurt any gem from the height. She wasn't unfortunate enough to experience it. Instead, she was caught by Pink, who set her down almost instantly.

"Be careful. We need to find the data." Pink said as if Peridot hadn't just almost plummeted to her doom. Peridot rubbed her arms as she shook from the shock.

But she was up a moment later, trying to drown it out and focus on the task at hand. Following behind Pink Diamond was an enduring chore from how fast the gem carried herself. Peridot found herself having to jog a bit to keep up.

She hoped she knew where she was going. With Lapis, Peridot hadn't gotten the opportunity to scavenge the Kindergarten. There could've been more useful materials for their operation. Her eyes landed on one of the injectors, trailing down the drill head.

And she raised her eyebrows and quickly said, "We can use one of the drill heads from these injectors for ours."

Pink slowed and looked back, "Excuse me?"

Peridot gulped, "These injectors have drill heads on them, we could e-extract one of them for our drill."

Pink turned and looked at one of the injectors. A nod slowly built in her neck as she looked back at Peridot. "You're right, we should take one back once we get the Cluster's data." And then she continued on walking.

Peridot glanced to the side before her legs moved unconsciously after her.

Then they reached the control room. The walk seemed far shorter once she stood at the edge of the dark hole.

"How are we gonna get down?" Peridot asked, fear on her back as she leaned over the edge.

"We jump down?" Pink stated with confusion. She said it as if it was obvious. And she made it obvious once she hopped in and slid into the dark. Peridot reeled back at the foolishness, and yelped, "What are you doing?!"

"It's safe, come down!" Pink called back, and Peridot only growled in response. She crossed her arms and scoffed.
"I'm not go-"

The dirt under her suddenly crumbled, falling into the hole along with a plume of smoke behind her. Her right limb enhancer tried gripping into the ground, making her flip forward. She rolled against the ground and screamed the entire way. It only stopped once she landed face first on the bottom, her form bruised with patches of dirt and dust.

"Are you okay?" Pink asked from above, bending down in front of her. Peridot growled and lifted her head, spitting out dirt.

"Does it look like I'm alright?!"

"You're bruised." Pink stated in a matter of fact tone, her eyes half opened. It looked like she wasn't paying attention at all. Peridot opened her mouth to retort, but stopped when she saw a single tear run down Pink's cheek. The diamond rubbed her thumb against it, catching it on the tip before putting it on Peridot's gem. Peridot instantly shot back, fear causing her body to jolt.

"Don't! Please!" The sudden reaction made Pink's eyes widen before she sighed.

"I'm not going to do anything to you, Peridot. I healed you. Your bruises should be gone now." She explained while standing up. Peridot looked at her in suspicion, but noticed the disappearance of her pain and the energy coursing through her. She rubbed at a specific spot that had bruised, her left arm, and saw it was gone.

"W-what?!" She gasped, her eyes as wide as saucers. Her head whipped between her arm and Pink, stuttered gasps leaving her mouth. "H-How?!"

"I'm a Diamond." Pink said in a monotone before walking into the cave, her gem lighting up. Peridot stared at her back, before shaking her head and rocketing to her feet. Her feet clanked against the ground as her gem lit up, the cave now a mix of green and pink.

"Now, where do we go from here?" Pink asked after stopping and turning to Peridot.

"We… okay, there should be a panel on the right." Peridot began as she stepped past Pink and stopped at the edge of the first platform. "All we need to do is re-power the control room, then I can simply access the Cluster project files and feed it to the drill."

Peridot looked at the gap between the platform and the room, and simply walked over it. Pink did the same as Peridot walked past a broken stone pillar. A detail that made her scared.

They weren't supposed to be open. So some gem was there before them. "Pink… Diamond, I believe this site may have been compromised."

"What do you mean?" Pink asked as she placed a hand on a pillar with a raised brow. Peridot glanced to the side nervously.

"These containment pillars were previously hidden in the walls, but they're out now. They've been tampered with."

"What… why does it matter?" Pink asked as her expression grew more worried.

"Because they held the prototypes for the Cluster. It started off with individual gem shards, and slowly grew in size until they used thousands."

"You say that as if you were there." Pink said as she glanced to the side with a low, irritated frown. Her teeth could be seen clamping together.

"No, I wasn't lucky enough to be here for it. I was only created five hundred years ago, but I would have loved to see the technological marvels made here. I mean, even to Homeworld's modern standards, this has aged fairly well." Peridot said as her fingers planted themselves on her chest. "Now, the panel should be around… there." She walked over and pointed over at an obvious hole in the wall.

Her mouth gaped as she felt a shiver. "No... no!" She cried and ran over, looking at the destroyed wiring and panel. "It's destroyed! Who… who did this?!" She screamed as her arms shook in unadulterated anger.

Pink stopped next to her and hummed. "This… must've been Jasper. Steven and Amethyst ran into her while they were here." A heavy sigh left her as she turned to Peridot.

"We'll have to look for ano-"
" NO! I will find that brute and tear her gem apart! She's ruined everything! AGH!" Peridot screamed as she grabbed at her own hair. A spew of nonsense came out of Peridot as she had a practical meltdown.

A bead of sweat trailed down Pink's cheek. The whole sight was familiar. In a bad way that made her grit her teeth and ignore it. She looked at the destroyed panel and examined the wiring and mechanisms inside.

"It… doesn't look too bad. If we reconnect this wire and get rid of this one, we could replace it with a substitute. Maybe another wire?" Pink muttered, rubbing her chin with her palm. Her hand hovered over it before she worked with her ideas.

Meanwhile, Peridot paced behind and continued in her ranting. She was nearly oblivious to the Diamond's work until a loud fizzle came from the panel. Her eyes stopped on Pink as a jolt came from her arm, electricity striking her form before turning pink and disappearing.

"Wh-" Peridot started, before closing her mouth as Pink ripped out a tube and tossed it away.

"Won't be needing that." Pink said to herself, moving another tube in its place.

"What are you doing?!" Peridot yelled as she came up to Pink's side. The diamond stopped and turned her head.

"I'm fixing it." She looked completely oblivious to how much damage she was causing.

"Move, let me see it!" Peridot said as she waved her out of the way. Pink obliged and stepped back, letting Peridot bend down and peer at the panel.

"Well, it's not… as bad as I thought. But it won't work if the wiring is jammed into the conduit here." The green gem said as she began working with the wiring with her fingers. And, unlucky for Pink, she began going through everything she had gotten wrong or broke.

And… well, by the ten minute mark Pink was already asleep.

Peridot worked relentlessly, her fingers bending to get hard to reach spots. When she finally stopped to test if her tinkering would work, she glanced over at Pink and saw the gem slumped against the wall, her knees to her chest.

"What are you doing?" Peridot asked as she stared at her. Pink didn't respond and remained still. Peridot let out a groan before continuing on and reconnecting the wiring to the room. And, as if a miracle finally graced her, it worked. The room lit up with a hum, the walls illuminating a light green glow. Peridot cackled in victory, "Yes! Take that planet!"

She quickly walked over to a hand-shaped pad and put her fingers against it. The pad hummed before a large screen hovered in front of her. Her wide smile grew.

She sorted through the files, each one holding information for different projects, before she finally found the Cluster's. "Hahaha! Found you!" She tapped the edge of the screen, and her fingers glowed a second later. The screen disappeared and she took her fingers back giddily.

"I have it!" She looked over at Pink, who was still slumped on her legs. "Now let's go shove this thing in that Pearl's face!" Stomping away, she grinned wildly, until she noticed that the other gem wasn't following her. She turned and faced Pink, "Are you coming?"

She didn't get a response, causing her to walk over. Stopping in front of the gem, she coughed into her fingers. "Are you going to respond…

"Stop ignoring me!"

Her yell worked in awaking the gem. Pink opened her eyes and saw nothing but a grey void, until she blinked and brought her back into the world.

"Wah? Oh… it's working?" Pink said in a daze, shaking her head and standing up.

"Yes, and I don't appreciate it when I've been ignored for five minutes now!" Peridot yelled as her arms shot down beneath her. Pink deadpanned before saying, "Sorry, I guess you took so long I fell asleep."

"Asleep? What is that?" Peridot asked, her brow raising under her visor.

"Asleep… y'know? When you sleep, you're asleep." Pink said with a shrug.

"I don't know what 'sleep' is, but if it turns me into a mindless pebble, then I will not partake in it." Peridot said as she crossed her arms, frowning with her eyes closed.

"You'll miss out," Pink sighed, " But did you get the data?"

"Yep, I have it right here!" She said as she pulled up her holoscreen with her fingers. It showed its usual mysterious symbols before Peridot swiped it and went to a new screen. She smoked confidently… before the entire screen turned red and closed out. Peridot let out a startled gasp before opening the screen back up.

"What? I… hold on." She grumbled while she sneered. Yet again, she swiped at her screen and got blasted by red. Once it disappeared again, she let out an angry growl. "AhH! I can't open the... I can't open the file!"

Pink's eyes widened as she grimaced, "What?

Peridot tried a third time, "I… I don't have access… I need a higher access level to open the file."

"You can't just… hack it? Maybe try and force the file open?" Pink asked as she walked next to Peridot, making the green gem squirm and move away.

"No, it's virtually impossible unless we get into the mainframe-"

"Then let's do tha-"
"A mainframe that is barely centimeters long and millions of light years away." Peridot finished, side eyeing her with a frustrated scowl.

Pink put her hands on her hips with a sigh. "We'll need to find another way to access it later… but we still have it. That's good enough for now," She turned and walked towards the entrance. "Let's grab the drill head and leave."

And leave they did. Peridot struggled to get out, and Pink had to resort to picking her up and jumping up the tunnel. As soon as she touched the rough dirt, Peridot began struggling out her grip. She let her go willingly.

As Peridot brushed herself off, which Pink didn't understand seeing as she didn't hit the ground once , she walked over to the nearest injector she could find. She hummed a bit.

' How am I gonna… can my sword work? ' She thought, placing a finger on her chin. As she ran through alternative ways to get the large drill off the injector, Peridot approached from behind. A long frown crossed her lips before she looked towards the way they came from.

"UhhHH! We have a problem?!" Peridot screamed, facing the direction with tremors coursing through her form.

Pink turned on a dime, "What? What i-" She stopped, her head turning slowly, seeing a monster to the right. It was horrible disfigured, just like the three on the tower. They were gems, but their forms were… off. 'Wrong' would describe corrupted gems, but these were off .

Her legs broke her out from her stupor, rushing forward as she summoned her sword in her left hand. Using her momentum, she stabbed into the… mouth of the creature. Its entire chest and stomach acted as a huge maw, snapping at her sword before exploding into a cloud. Its gem catered against the ground, broken and mangled together.

Pink picked it up and gave a disgusted frown. "What is wrong with it?"

"It's one of those experiments!" Peridot cried as she looked around nervously, her fingers clawing at her hair while one hung from her lip.

"Be careful, there could be more." Pink warned, checking her surroundings. She caught a glimpse of movement to the left, before seeing the shadow of another experiment. It was smaller, and quicker. It rushed from its hiding spot behind an injector and jumped at her.

Impaling it on her sword, she threw it off and let it hit the ground in a poof.

"Ummm we have a problem!" Peridot cried, making Pink turn her head and see a whole group of gem experiments coming towards them. Some looked more damaged than others.

"We have to get that drill!" Pink said as she ran to Peridot's side and lifted her sword towards the mutants.

"WHAT?! Are you cracked?! We'll shatter if we try and get it!" Peridot yelled in protest, her eyes wide with fear. Pink gritted her teeth before huffing and grabbing Peridot's arm. The green gem yelped before she tried running so she wouldn't trip. Pink practically dragged her along towards the warp, holding onto her all the way. She only let go once she jumped up and stepped onto the warp.

Peridot let out an angry groan, "Stop grabbing me!"

"And let you get attacked by those things?!" Pinks growled, the warp activating right after. She let out huffs of breath before dissipating her sword. Peridot stayed quiet after that, glancing down as she gritted her teeth.

"This whole mission was a failure." She muttered, ehr arms crossing over her stomach. Turning her head away, she grimaced. "I can see why they used rebels now."

Pink slowly turned her head to her, eyes narrowing through exhaustion. "Excuse me?"

"They used the shards of rebel gems they caught for the prototypes. With how foolish and terribly executed this plan was an your poor leadership, I can see why th-"

And a hand suddenly grabbed her uniform, bringing her face to face with burning eyes. The diamond shaped pupils that bore into her were pure white. And the form of the Diamond was glowing a pure pink aura.

Silence went undisputed through the warp as Peridot squirmed to get out of her grip. "What are you doing?!"

Pink did nothing but glare, her other fist squeezing tighter and tighter until the warp stream ended and left them in a grassy plain. Then, she snarled as she shut her eyes.

Pink threw the gem back, sending the green gem flying off the warp. She landed on her back, the grass crunched underneath her as she whipped her head up and crawled backwards from Pink.

"What did I do?!" Peridot asked as she stared at Pink in fear. The taller gem didn't respond, her eyes unwavering as she gritted her teeth. She turned away, a tear rolling down her cheek as she walked towards the direction of the barn.

Peridot stayed on the ground as she stared at where Pink had disappeared.

She had a lot to learn.
