Chapter 31: The Fungus Aroma, Part 3

Moe and Naomi were then in the center of the small forest.

"Where is the fungus you are talking about?" Naomi asked. "They are here, right?"

"They are right here." Moe said as she pointed Naomi to a tree where there are mushrooms growing out of it. "Woah! There's more than that!"

"Heh heh… Fungus. The stuff that's smelled bad and the kind to send shivers down to the spines of those that gazed upon it…" Naomi said. "And it will be worse if these things are increased in size."

"Size?"

"Oh! How foolish of me! I guess I have to show you what powers I have."

Naomi then raises her hand towards the fungus. The fungus then slowly grew in size.

"Woah! I don't like where this is going!" Moe said. "But I'm totally in it!"

Naomi's Stand then emerges next to the fungus. Moe then looks as Naomi is turning herself away to face Moe.

"Coral Pirate is the name of my Stand." Naomi said. "It can increase or decrease the size of any plants, except for trees. This also includes increasing the size of the fungus here. And Moe, we might want to step back."

Moe and Naomi walked back from the fungus.

"Why?" Moe asked.

"Because since Coral Pirate has increased the fungus in size, it gets more risky to stand near them." Naomi said. "And now that we found the fungus, once those three show up, I want to know how Aloe Black works with these fungus."

"Right! Yes! Let's get into position by hiding near those trees away from the fungus!"

Outside of that area, Jordin and his friends continued to find Moe and Naomi.

"Those girls better be somewhere!" Daichi said as he looked around and saw another entry. "I bet they're in here!"

Hatsuki then sniffed something.

"Ugh! It's not that odor, but this one smells weird." Hatsuki said.

"Could be some sort of fungus or something." Jordin said.

"Fungus?!"

"Yeah?"

Hatsuki backs away and hugs herself, nervously.

"I have a fear for fungus…" Hatsuki said. "I... I don't know how, but they just make my skin crawl… And whenever I see one right now, I just quickly look away and run… And I get visions of that fungus… That sort of thing made me have this fear..."

"Isn't that Mycophobia? The fear for fungus and mold?" Daichi asked.

"Yes. I've told you guys about it, but never on Yoshiro or Taiyo… Or Reiko… Whatever, I'm just gonna have to wait here until things get deadly in there…"

"Ok, we understand. Let's do this Daichi."

Jordin and Daichi then walked towards that entry, only to see giant fungus mushrooms growing near a tree.

"Holy shit!" Jordin shouted.

"Yo! Imagine if Hatsuki was here, her life would be ruined!" Daichi said. "This is like, very rare!"

"Well you can't touch it because it may be bad…"

"Pfft! I'm not gonna touch it, JoJo! I'm getting a good look at it!"

While distracted, Moe and Naomi then saw them.

"Now!" Naomi whispered.

"Do your thing, Aloe Black!" Moe said.

Aloe Black then drains the aroma from the fungus and uses it to make a more powerful version of it. It then flowed towards Jordin and Daichi. Daichi sniffs on the aroma.

"Ugh! Shit!" Daichi shouted. "This fungus sure does-"

Daichi then fell to the ground.

"Daichi" Jordin shouted. "Holy shit! What's happening to him?!"

Daichi then saw Jordin with cat eyes.

"J-Jordin… Why are you part-cat?" Daichi said. "Fuck! This aroma is making me hallucinate! It's that girl's Stand again!"

As Jordin inhaled and exhaled on the aroma, he fell to the ground too, but paralyzed.

"JoJo!" Daichi said as he looked at Jordin with extra limbs. "Oh my God! You're a Freak! Shit! This aroma is making me hallucinate more than ever!"

Daichi slowly crawls to the entry.

"He's getting away!" Naomi shouted. "But I got him!"

"Anyone out there?!" Daichi shouted. "It's getting harder to breathe!"

Outside, Hatsuki heard Daichi's voice.

"Daichi" Hatsuki shouted as her Grenade Jumpers emerged. "Check what's happening, Grenade Jumpers!"

When the Grenade Jumpers were about to go to the entrance of the fungus, the entrance closed and whipped away the Grenade Jumpers.

"Gah!" Hatsuki shouted. "What gives?! Did those vines close on their own?! Better find another entrance…"

Hatsuki runs by the entrance with her Grenade Jumpers. The entrance then opened up.

"Hatsuki!'" Daichi shouted. "Hat-"

"-Coral Pirate!" Naomi shouted.

Coral Pirate then used the vines from the trees to grab onto Daichi. Moe and Naomi were then shown with masks on to protect themselves from the odor Aloe Black have made.

"The hallucination is working real well!" Naomi said. "Now it's my turn to finish them off!"

Then, explosions occur, destroying the fungus.

"Gah! What just happened?!" Moe shouted as she saw pieces of fungus being scattered on the ground. "Our fungus! They're blown to bits! But how?!"

Moe and Naomi then looked at Hatsuki with her eyes closed and covering her hands and nose with her hands.

"Clever move she is doing!" Naomi said.

Grenade Jumpers then fired more bullets and Moe and Naomi. Both of them avoided all of the bullets.

"Hey Moe!" Naomi said.

"Yeah?!" Moe said.

"I think we should be getting on out of here! We're basically defenseless! The fungus and aroma are both gone!"

"My Aloe Black's aroma is gone as well?!"

Moe and Naomi then looked around to see that the aroma Aloe Black have made was gone.

"Shit! Yeah let's get out of here!" Moe shouted.

Moe and Naomi then both ran away.

"Yeah you two better run!" Hatsuki shouted as she saw Jordin and Daichi on the ground. "Shit… Gotta take you two to the nurse…"

Hatsuki walks out of the Nurse's Office. She then sees Koi and Yoshiro walking towards her.

"Hatsuki! Are you alright?" Koi asked.

"I'm fine." Hatsuki replied. "Two girls attacked me, Jordin and Daichi while we were taking a walk around a small forest in the park outside of the school.

"Two girls attacked you?" Yoshiro asked.

"It was Moe Chiba, the "Shy" Freshman and Naomi Nomura, the popular Senior." Hatsuki replied. "I don't think the principal isn't even gonna know about this because she might not be a Stand User…"

"Those girls were something else…" Koi said. "I don't know what they even think of when they attacked you guys…"

Hatsuki sighed.

"Yeah, I mean… It's a good thing we're alright." Hatsuki said.

"What caused you three to go to the Nurse's Office?" Yoshiro asked.

"What if I told you that Moe has a Stand that can make a killer odor from the fungus that Naomi's Stand has increased its size from?"

"Ok… If they are here then should we let them know that they were sorry for what they have done?"

"Yeah and tell them that I don't accept their apology because they drag me to a place where my Mycophobia would take place!"

Hatsuki took another deep breath.

"Sorry, I'll be getting going. I'll see you out, Koi." Hatsuki said as she walked away.

"What's Mycophobia?" Yoshiro asked.

"It's a fear for Fungus and Mold." Koi replied. "Hatsuki has had that fear ever since she was only 6."

"I see… Well, I guess I'll be on my way. Take care, Koi."

"Bye, Yoshiro. See you later."
