Nadri sat on the edge of the bed with one leg relaxing over the other, her hair brought around to the front of her shoulder so she could brush through the curls that had entangled around her in her sleep. She hummed a bard's tale as she slid the sterling silver hairbrush through her locks, eyes full of wonder towards Killian getting dressed in front of her. She couldn't help but admire her partner in crime, the man has a gorgeous face that his body easily matched. Soft abs were trailed down his body, reddened scars were lit across his skin that could only be seen with his shirt missing.
"I can feel your eyes burning through my back, love." Killian had a hidden smirk on his face as he went through his chest of drawers to pick a shirt out of the many black ones that he had neatly folded inside. Nadri brought her eyes down to her lip, smiling away to herself as she continued brushing her hair to finish getting ready to go out with Emma and Snow.
It was going to be the first time that she would properly spend time away from Killian in Storybrooke without the threat of impending doom following them. Emma wanted to treat Nadri to a girl's day, making sure that Nadri could shop for her own clothes and find her own style with the help of Emma paying for it for now. It was going on the company card and until Nadri settled in further that's what David had been happy enough with. Nadri was incredibly grateful even though she and David had only exchanged very few words since returning from the Land of Untold Stories.
"I can't help it, I like to see how…" Nadri thought for a moment, biting her lip. "Gorgeous you are." She pronounced with a cheeky smile, Killian turning to her as he did up the buttons of his shirt with a surprised smile.
"You're getting better, love." Killian praised with pride, Nadri's English getting better. She was no longer shying away from trying to pronounce her words but sometimes she did fumble and it came out like confused gibberish. "How do you feel about going out today?" He asked as he picked up the waistcoat from the top of the dresser.
"Are you trying to make me nervous, Ruveyzun?" Nadri cocked an eyebrow with a sly smile, getting up from the bed and placing the hairbrush down on the dresser where Killian was standing. He gave her a short laugh, capturing her on the waist and brought her into a surprising kiss, earning a squeak from Nadri. "Killy!" She pulled away with a bright smile.
"Nadri!" Killian grinned, mimicking her surprise before pulling her into another kiss. "You look ravishing, love." He winked at her, taking a moment to look over her. Emma had given her all of the clothes she was wearing the previous day, having to quickly throw the bag at Killian and burn the image from her mind as he'd popped his head up on deck while the rest of him was inappropriate for the public eye. Nadri was wearing an oversized, chunky, knitted nude brown jumper that came past her thighs and a pair of comfortable skinny leggings. She had a knee-high pair of suede heeled boots that Emma had also lent her.
"I need to go, lokaal." Nadri mumbled against him, pulling her hands up and pushing him away in a gentle motion. "I'm in safe hands with the sadiik."
"I'll be helping Charming out if you need me, okay? Get Swan to use her mobile-thingy." Killian pecked her forehead. "I love you."
"I love you, raaviir." Nadri gave him one more longing kiss before leaving his personal space, making her way up the deck of the ship.
She was met with the warm Summer sun, the days slowly changing over with more gentle breezes that was not far away from the leaves changing. Nadri took a peaceful walk by herself towards Granny's diner where she had planned to meet Emma and Snow. Nadri crossed her arms over her chest, feeling the lack of presence with her from Killian always walking near her side.
She greeted several of the residents timidly, still adjusting to the living of Storybrooke. Nadri came across Archie and Pongo, Archie's Dalmatian, and he gave her his chipper smile.
"Hi, Nadri." He stopped along the path, still smiling at Nadri behind his circular glasses as he held onto his navy blue umbrella. "How are you getting on? I haven't seen you around much." Killian had filled Nadri in on a lot of the residents that were around in Storybrooke and Archie was the resident therapist of the town. Nadri thought of him as bright and beaming, respect for a being with such wisdom it impressed her.
"I'm just on my way to meet Emma and Snow, we're going…shopping." Nadri let out an awkward smile, still gaining confidence. Pongo nudged at Nadri's hand and she wearily patted the dog's head, having bad experiences with the hellhounds of the Underworld.
"I won't keep you then. My office is open if you want to come in and have a chat." Nadri nodded, grateful for his offer and Archie carried on with Pongo down the street. She continued walking, taking a quick glance over Gold's Pawn Shop and immediately bit her lip, mentally battling herself from going in and investigating whether Rumpelstiltskin had returned back to the town yet. Nadri took a deep breath and shook the thought from her head. She needed to have a good day, she needed to focus on something that wasn't the Dark One or her own personal demons.
""What about these? They're cute." Emma turned around to Nadri holding up a pair of crimson pumps as the trio stood in The Glass Slipper, finding Nadri a couple pairs of shoes to go along with the several bags of clothes that they had gone and bought in the other shops around town. Nadri pursued her lips together, trying not to make a disgusted face at how bright the red was on the shoes that she was holding up.
Trying to find her own style was hard enough already, they had gone into the multiple clothing shops that Storybrooke had to offer and Nadri still struggled to put an outfit together. Snow and Emma had to get her to model for them so that they could make sure that Nadri was matching up her outfits. It was tiring to say the least, there was a lot of back and forth and a lot of ordering around especially from Snow.
"They're red." Nadri's reply was curt.
"What's wrong with red?" Emma wore an offended expression, looking down at her red leather jacket that might as well have matched the heels in her hands.
"It is a bit…Regina." Snow commented from Nadri's side, looking down at the colour with the same face as Nadri. Emma rolled her eyes and put the heels back on the shelf with a disappointed huff.
"I am grateful, saviik for everything you've done today." Nadri reassured her, thanking Emma for how much she had helped her out with the funds that Nadri didn't have. She probably owed Emma close to a couple of hundred dollars now.
"It's okay, we just want you to feel more comfortable. We can go back if you've had enough." Emma offered as she glanced down at the watched on her wrist, seeing that it was now the late afternoon and they had been shopping nonstop throughout the day. "I think Hook is still with my Dad so I can walk you back."
"I'm enjoying myself, honestly. I haven't done this much walking for a long time." Nadri giggled, still looking along the shelf at more of the various colours and types of heels. "I don't know how mortals can do this all the time, I imagine the amount of coins would leave someone with none."
"Dad gave me the card, you deserve it. Hook's jewels don't exactly equal currency in this realm."
"No Black Market vendors?" Nadri raised her eyebrow.
"Eh, not the ones you think."
They continued looking around the shoe shop, Nadri going on tip-toes to be able to look at the higher shelves as she was left to her own devices, Snow and Emma went to another aisle to browse for something for themselves. She was met with a sparkling pair of deep purple enclosed high heels, glittering away with the lights of the shop. Nadri gleamed daringly and placed a foot on the bottom shelf trying to balance herself so she could pull herself up, a hand waving around at the shoes so she could try and grab them.
"C'mon." Nadri strained, her fingers stretched out and trying to clasp the edges of the pumps. "By the Gods-" She just about caught the front of the shoes but ended up pushing them further back.
"Would you like some help?" Emma's voice was heard from behind Nadri as she clung to the shelf for dear life to try and reach the shoes that were screaming at her to take them off the shelves. Nadri looked over her shoulder slowly, like she had been caught nicking from the biscuit tin and gave Emma a guilty smile, lowering herself down. Emma stepped forward, reaching up with little effort and picked up the shoes. "Here."
"I wasn't exactly blessed with the height of a giant." Nadri laughed, graciously taking the shoes from her hands. "These will definitely help." She had this little grin that lit up her whole face as she looked up at Emma. Nadri sat down on one of the stiff, uncomfortable benches to take her long boots off and slipped into the twinkling glittery ones. "Ooh!" Nadri cooed, wiggling her foot out so she could see the shop lighting dazzle onto the glitter.
"They look good." Emma enthused, also eyeing up the heels for herself. She looked down at Nadri with a hesitant twitch of the lips, making Nadri raise an eyebrow at what she was acting so weary about. "Mom and I were thinking about going for a couple drinks in the new bar in town. Girls night. I thought maybe you'd like come with us? It's a Friday night and you might like the nightlife." Emma shrugged as Nadri wiggled the heel back off her foot, dropping it back to the ground with a plonk and began to fumble with getting her boot back on.
"Nightlife?" The dark-haired woman repeated again like an echo.
"Hook's kept you busy enough not to notice everything that goes on around here in the evening." Nadri's cheeks flamed, trying to hide her embarrassed smile as she zipped the side of her boot up. "It's up to you, it's better than being stuck in the Roger all night." Emma chuckled, watching as Nadri picked up the shoes in her hands, indicating that she'd found the perfect pair.
"What is it like? The nightlife?" Nadri pronounced, unsure as she stood herself up, gathering the bags back up that she had left to the side and began to walk alongside Emma so they could make their way towards the counter at the front of the shop where Snow was seen patiently waiting.
"Well there's a bar we usually go to, there's a new nightclub that opened up a few weeks back called the Puddin' n' Pie. I think its run by Georgie, y'now Georgie Porgie in the book?"
Nadri blinked with a blank deadpanned expression, what was the Savior blathering on about?
"Never mind." Emma brushed off, waving her hand. "There's booze, music and dancing. I think you'll love it."
Nadri thought about Emma's offer, she had been to the bar in the Underworld and that happened to be a place with quiet patrons and a very dull atmosphere. She hadn't been to a place with music, well, modern music. She was very much used to the musical sounds of a classical lute playing amongst travellers in the forest, nothing close to what music was like in this modern realm. Nadri's first thought was how intimidating it would be, being brought into a place where there were so many people that would exchange gossip about her, but then she realised that there were so many people who didn't know who was she was either.
"Who else is going?" Nadri began warming up to the idea of going out with the other women.
"Regina is coming, we've aired our differences. We just want a chilled night."
"Will there be food?" Nadri asked the most important question with a glint in her eye and Emma stifled a laugh.
"If you count bar snacks as 'food'."
"Sounds like food anyway."
Emma paid for Nadri's new heels and added them into the mix of many bags that they had accrued throughout the day. The group headed out of the shop, Nadri struggling with the amount of bags in her hands, swapping between them to see if it'd make the load any lighter and it failed. She wasn't as strong as she was before and Nadri was feeling like her human body was working against her.
The group of women went back to Killian's ship, dropping all of Nadri's bags onto the deck of the Captain's Quarters. She couldn't believe how much stuff she had, she had enough outfits to have a different one every day for several weeks and a pair of shoes to match. They hung around the ship for a while, knowing that Killian wouldn't be back until late due to helping David out with sheriff duties until he found a more active deputy since Emma had taken on the co-parent role with Regina more full-time. Nadri raided the bedroom to find the bottle of red wine that she hadn't finished from the other night and picked up three glasses to share with the women – it was what Emma called as 'pre-drinks'.
Nadri was given a long sleeved, black v neck top to try on for their night out. She went into the bathroom and replaced the jumper she was wearing, comfortably fitting the top over her head and pulled it down to adjust it around her cleavage. The dip was so low that the shapes of her breasts could be easily seen. She analysed her reflection judging back at her, the dark scar running down her chest that was made so prominent by the top. She bit her lip, running her hand over her chest and sighing in frustration.
She felt like she couldn't look good without such an impending scar showing.
Nadri walked back out of the bathroom, her chest covered up with her arms crossed over it. Emma encouraged her to bring her arms down, her cheeks always tinted from the wine, and she wowed Nadri when she revealed herself.
"Wow! Look at you!" Snow awed, watching Nadri timidly pull her hair behind her ear.
"Modern looks great on you." Emma complimented and picked out a leather-like skirt from one of the bags and held it towards Nadri. "See how that looks." Nadri paled as she caught the garment that was tossed towards her, staring at with saucers. They really wanted her to go all out tonight. She shuffled back into the bathroom, shimming out of her fitting leggings and wiggled back into the skirt that was tight around her thighs, shaping her butt.
It was short – now that was saying something.
Nadri walked back out, feeling rather exposed and sat down on the bed with Emma as she went through her bag and found some makeup for Nadri to wear. Nadri was weary when Emma began to brush on a thick liquid on her face that was the same shade as her face, feeling how cold it was as she patted it in with what Nadri identified as a sponge. Emma then used a fluffy powder brush before going back into her bag of tricks for a mascara, what looked like some eyeshadow and a deep nude lipstick that complimented her eyes. She was sat rigid, as if someone was painting a portrait of her, she didn't want to move a muscle in case something went wrong and Emma would have to start all over again.
"Here." The blonde showed her the small circle mirror that she had pulled from her bag and Nadri took it hesitantly, looking into her reflection and she was met with a stranger. She had a smoky eyeliner around her purple eyes, her lips that been painted to accentuate how plumped they already were and the mascara around her eyes made her eyelashes look even longer than they were.
Nadri was astonished.
"This is…amazing, saviik. I look so different." Nadri gawped, still looking up and down at her reflection.
"Well we are going out." Emma teased. "We need to get ready, I'll let you call Hook." Emma went through her red leather jacket pocket and pulled out her phone, swiping to unlock it and scrolling through to find Killian's number. She pressed the green button and handed the phone to Nadri, Nadri taking it as if it was a live bomb. "You put it to your ear." Emma instructed and Nadri placed the phone to her ear, hearing the ringing tone.
"Alright, Swan?" Killian answered the phone with a monotone voice, Nadri hearing the shuffling of papers in the background.
"Ruveyzun!" Nadri beamed through the phone, astounded at how she could hear his voice through the device.
"Nadri? What's wrong, love?" His voice instantly turned into panic.
"I'm fine, Killy. I'm letting you know that Emma and I are going to a club tonight." Nadri rehearsed, really thinking about how she was wording her broken English to sound more fluent with words she hadn't learned properly before.
"A club?" Killian's voice was flat, disapproving.
"What's wrong with that?"
"Nadri, are you sure that's a good idea? I know you said you wanted to crack on with it but-"
"Raaviir, I'm safe with Emma. I want to try out this 'Girls night.'" Nadri repeated Emma's words. The blonde looked up from the open door in the bathroom, leaning back and narrowing her eyes trying to work out what Killian was saying over the phone. "I promise you, I'll be fine. You know I can handle myself."
"Nadri, darling, I just want you to be safe okay? I'll be there in seconds."
"I know you will." Nadri smiled through the phone, appreciating his protective boyfriend routine.
"…Aren't you going to tell me what you're wearing?" Killian's seductive, joking tone came through the phone making Nadri laugh out loud and Snow tutted with a smile in her direction. "You're not alone are you?"
"See you soon, Ruveyzun." Nadri was still giggling away, giving him her love and then handing the phone back to Emma as she came out of the bathroom with her make-up done.
"Right, c'mon, let's get ready."
