Disclaimer: I do not own Digimon.

Before anyone decides to burn the story I recommend to pay attention to the title again. Terrifymon is truly a monstrous digimon. But the question is what is at the end of a nightmare? Is it hope? Is it relief? Or is it death? Or maybe someone lulled you to sleep, manipulated you the whole time you had been passed out like you were hypnotized. But did this happen while you were sleeping? Or was it before? Regardless, eventually the shadows have to reveal themselves bringing truth to light.

Chapter Thirty-One: Live Through the Nightmare

Everyone looked on dumbstruck, unable to comprehend what they had just witnessed.

"Daisuke!" Taichi cried.

"Ken!" Yamato wailed.

"They're gone! Nooo!" Miyako shouted. "I'm scared! I don't want to be here anymore! I don't want to be a Digidestined! I don't-"

"-Pull yourself together!"Aquilamon groaned flying in front of her trying to console her. "We have to keep fighting Miyako. We have to destroy him for Daisuke and Ken's sa-

Before anyone could say anything Aquilamon groaned out as a blade not only pushed through him, but carried further and stabbed through Miyako, her barely able to register what had happened, her making a pitiful gasp reaching her hand out to the dissolving Aquilamon as the blade ripped out of her chest and she collapsed completely gone.

"Miyako!" Iori shouted.

"Miyako! Aquilamon!" Sora wept.

"How could you do that to her!" Iori cried. "I swear you will pay for what you've done! You will pay for it a thousand fold!"

"Then let us attack together," Akama growled. "If we get through this Iori I will show you what true sworsdmanship is!"

"Attack with all your might Ankylomon!" Iori commanded chasing right after the lumbering dinosaur digimon with his kendo stick.

"If we die we perish in glorious battle!" Akama agreed rushing forward with his sword, Noblemon leading.

"I will fight by your side my liege!" he declared as they all rushed forward towards Terrormon.

Noblemon tried to slash him directly calling out his Rounds of Mastery attack, both him and Akama working together to parry and attack him, but the more they attacked him, the quicker he vanished in a brief darkness as if he had disappeared before their very eyes barely able to keep up with his movements.

"I got him!" Ankylomon cried calling out his 'hammer tail attack' downwards, Iori somehow jumping on the outstretched tail, jumping up and slamming his kendo stick down shattering it on the ground over the empty crater where he had just been standing.

Iori breathed out heavily turning towards Ankylomon who groaned out frustrated.

"Did we get him?" he asked, Iori noticing Terrifymon standing on his head, his sword about ready to pierce through his skull.

"Ankylmon look out!" he cried, but as soon as Ankylomon noticed him, the blade pierced through his head all the way through the ground, the digimon dissolving.

"Ankylmon!" Iori cried out. "I'll get you!" he shouted out fervently swinging his broken kendo sword wildly. "I swear on my grandfather's honor I will get-"

Everyone watched as Iori's eyes widened, the kendo stick falling from his hand as his blade pierced through his heart killing him instantly.

"This just can't be!" Taichi shouted as if hardly able to move.

"He's so dam fast!" Yamato added. "We have to group together! If we don't he'll pick us all off one by on-"

"Arrrgh!" A voice cried to the left of him everyone looking to see Joe looking through his chest staring at a gaping hole with the blade dripping blood from it, the last visages of Vikemon already vanishing.

"Th-this is nothing," he grinned shivering. "I'm a doctor right? I can heal this," he said barely able to move his arms. "I can stop the bleeding," he added, his eyes growing hazy. I can-"

His head bent forward limp as he breathed out his last, his glasses falling down, Terrormon kicking him off of the blade and crushing his glasses.

"Joe!" Takeru cried.

"Joe!" Screamed Mimi.

"Everyone fight with everything you have!" screamed Akama. "Just attack like mad or he will get all of you! Now!"

With that everyone broke out into madness as Rosemon started whipping around like crazy, Phoenixmon exploded the sky in combination with Alphamon, Jesmon, and Hercules Kabuterimon.

Omegamon darted around scanning the battlefield for any signs of him and after all the fervor they had utterly decimated the battlefield until it was leveled out within at least a five mile radius.

Everyone breathed out heavy, looking around scared out of their minds.

"Did we get him? Sora asked, Phoenixmon meeting up with her.

"I don't know," she said her eyes looking around. "I don't-"

"Haunted Flare!" a voice cried reigning ghostly purplish flares from the heavens down enveloping Phoenixmon and Sora in them.

"Sora!" Yamato cried out rushing over amidst the falling flames and wrapping his own body around her as they fell.

"Phoenixmon sqwauked out and dissolved into burning pieces, amidst the embers around the battlefield, Sora and Yamato were covered in terrible burns, both of them barely able to say anything.

"Yamato!" Omegamon cried, the damage he had taken causing himself agony as if he was being torn in two. "Yama-"

-A dark blade split Omegamon down the center, dissolving both digimon into nothingness.

"Agumon!" Taichi heaved unable to take it. "Yamato!" "Sora!"

"Brother!" Takeru exclaimed.

They watched on, Sora barely able to lift her arm, Yamato wrapping his arms around her, both of them staring so tenderly at each other and then both of them igniting into the flame not leaving any trace behind.

"This can't be the end of us!" Koushiro exclaimed. "If I could just track his movements I could-

"-Where did Homeostasis go?" Mimi shouted irritated. "Wasn't she going to help us?!"

"I don't know," Koushiro grimaced. "I can't believe not even my computer can track him! It has nothing even on him!"

"Koushiro!" Mimi shouted, Koushiro looking up Terrifymon flying through the air towards him, his blade ready to swing.

"Get him HerculesKabuterimon!"

"You to Rosemon!" Mimi cried as they both unleashed their mega shocker and forbidden temptation attacks.

Terrormon vanished dodging the attacks and slashed all the way through HerculesKabuterimon's hard shell with ease, and severing the limbs off of Rosemon before decapitating her within a single breath both of them dissolving.

"No! Rosemon!" Mimi cried. "Rosemon! Rosemon!"

"Mimi get ahold of yourself," Koushiro said abandoning his computer and grabbing her from behind. "You've got to stay calm otherwise Terrormon will get you nex-"

He spat up blood all over Mimi's chest, Mimi staring at him, the blade having pierced her through as well. Both of them collapsed onto the ground crushing Koushiro's blood stained computer.

Mimi barely lifted her head Koushiro barely able to keep his eyes open.

She bent down to his cheek and kissed him.

"Oh my darling," she teared. "It's all right. We don't need to plan for the wedding anymore. We'll be together forever," she said, Koushiro barely able to nod his head as she collapsed on him, both of them no more.

"Koushiro!" Taichi shouted.

"Mimi!" Meiko lamented.

"No," Takeru said grabbing Hikari's hand fiercely. "No matter what happens," he said. "I will never let you go. I won't accept this is the end for us."

She squeezed his hand back. "Me to. There's no way Homeostasis would just abandon us like this," she said.

Terrifymon then appeared standing in front of the survivors a few feet away holding out his blade towards Taichi and Meiko.

"Don't you dare point that at Meiko!" Rasielmon screamed throwing out her circlets of plasma and lightning.

Terrifymon instantly parried them, catching them on his blade and infusing them with his own power, flinging it back at Rasielmon cutting her into pieces, her dissolving after. She weakly called out to Meiko until she was no more.

"Meicoomon!" Meiko cried reaching out to her. "No Meicoomon!" she exclaimed grabbing the digital incisors.

"I will cut you!" she shouted angrily. "I will cut you into pieces you demon!" she cried out running over to him.

Taichi held out one hand to stop her, but she was too fast and was already gone.

They all watched as she barely nicked the digimon, but immediately after a diagonal slash cut her down killing her instantly.

Taichi grimaced barely able to contain himself as Terrifymon flicked his blade shedding her blood.

"Taichi," Akama said, his eyes firmly fixed on Terrifymon. "I don't believe this is the end for us. But the only hope that we have is in Takeru and Hikari's digimon," he said. "Go to them."

"But what about you?" Taichi asked.

"I will fight with Noblemon until I am no more," he said. "But you have to find some way to help them."

Taichi nodded his head, trying his best to remain composed so Terrifymon would not take advantage of his weakness.

Noblemon grasped his blade as Akama drew his.

"My liege," he said. "It's been an honor serving you."

"Yes my friend," Akama replied. "And it's been an honor dying with you."

"For honor!" Noblemon declared.

"For Honor!" Akama agreed as they rushed forward knowingly to their demise.

Taichi scrambled over to Hikari and Takeru knowing that Akama more than likely would die in just a matter of minutes.

"Takeru! Hikari!" he yelled out, catching both of their attention.

"Brother," Hikari said, her face downcast. "Did you see what happened? The others, they-"

"I know," he frowned clenching his fist. "I know. They're gone. All of them. And Akama will soon be to."

"It just doesn't seem real," Takeru said depressed. "Yamato can't be gone. The others can't either. They-"

"-Takeru!" Taichi said headbutting him to his forehead. "They are all gone!" he said. "Snap out of it! You've got to figure out what you can do before it's too late for the rest of us!"

"But what can we do?" he asked, shaking barely able to contain himself. "Homeostasis just up and vanished. Hallowedmon is not responding after beating Baphemosmon," he said. "We've tried to wake him or rouse him, but it's no use!"

"There is no way we can beat him like this," Hikari grimaced. "Even with Light or Hope or Courage, how can we even beat something like that?

They looked onward as Akama and Noblemon used their rounds of mastery to fight against Terrifymon, but it was a losing effort.

"They're trying as hard as they can so we can survive," Taichi snapped. "And you're telling me you can just do nothing?!"

"We've tried!" Takeru shouted. "What more can we do? It's not listening to us! Homeostasis has abandoned us!"

"-No I haven't," Hikari suddenly said, her eyes glimmering with golden light.

"H-Homeostasis?" Takeru said wondrously.

"It's about time," Taichi groaned, "But you're too late. Yamato and Sora and the others-"

"-Listen to me," she said interrupting him. "What you think you are seeing you are not seeing. But one comes to dispel the darkness. He manipulates darkness and light to his pleasing, and nothing can oppose his will."

"What are you talking about?" Taichi asked. "Did you not see what he did to our friends?! They all died!" he shouted exasperated. "We're the only one's left."

"You're wrong," she said turning around and pointing to the clouds.

Immediately a mysterious growing portal appeared swirling within the clouds. "Behold, he comes."

Taichi watched onward mystified by it, turning to the right amazed to see Noblemon disentegrating and Akama falling in battle with a wound to the heart.

"No," he said trying to contain himself. "He lost. He gave it all he had, but he still lost."

"But it's not the end yet," Takeru said. "If Homeostasis is telling us that what we're seeing is not what's real then I don't believe it," he said. "I refuse to."

"Me either," Taichi said. "Though I don't know what it will take for-"

He clamped his mouth shut as Terrifymon appeared in the skies before them aiming his haunted flare attack squarely at them.

"This is the end of your nuisance Homeostasis," Terrifymon declared, "And the start of my never ending supreme reign!"

With that he unleashed the haunted flare at them, but the attack fizzled up before it could reach them.

"What happened?" Takeru asked.

"The attack just vaporized!" Taichi exclaimed.

"I told you," Homeostasis replied. "You're still in the shroud. None of you can see the truth."

"What truth?" Taichi questioned.

"All of you silence!" Terrifymon groaned. "You will perish in the dream! The dream of the King! Then the Reality will be Realized! My Ambition will have been achieved!"

Homeostasis smirked nodding her head. "Do you hear him? That foolish King believes he will actually rule. He never realized he's the one whose been played for a fool."

"A fool?!" Terrifymon shouted out enraged. "Who dares to make such acclaim against my omnipotence?" he asked.

"I do," Homeostasis said, Taichi noticing cracks starting to appear everywhere in the ground and sky.

"You're dream oh Dark Ocean King Terrifymon is at an end," she declared pointing in the sky at the swirling vortex coming out.

"You will not deceive me with your lies witch!" he snarled.

"I have no need to do such a thing," she replied grinning ear to ear. "For you see Terrifymon you have only done this to yourself."

With that Terrormon turned looking up at the swirling vortex noticing everything around him was cracking.

"No!" he exclaimed. "It's not the time! They have no power to break out of my spell! It is not possible! Not at my level!" he exclaimed working himself up into a frenzy.

"With every second passing," she said, "Terrifymon is losing his opportunity to come at us. I'm just stalling for time," she said. "As long as one of us remains before the dream ends then we will all be saved."

"None of you will ever wake up from this!" Terrifymon snarled. He leaped forward with his blade, the blade embedding itself into Taichi, Taichi not expecting it.

"That's one," he grinned, Taichi barely able to stay conscious.

He gripped the blade as best as he could.

"Takeru! I leave Hikari in your care!" he shouted, blood trickling down his mouth. "I'll make sure he can't escape!" he groaned holding the blade doing his best to keep it impaled in himself.

"Foolish!" he shouted, Taichi noticing cracks appear more and more.

"Heh," he grinned. "Looks like you don't have much time. It's over Terrifymon," he said, his eyes getting heavier by the second. "It's ov-"

-Taichi's body went limp and Terrifymon easily slid the blade back out of him. "This dream will never end," he declared. "When those two abominations are killed, this dream will be a reality. All the digidestined will have died, their blood my royal throw rug to my kingdom."

Takeru ran with Homeostasis not even bothering looking back knowing what had happened. He clenched his teeth fearful, but knowing he had to protect Hikari, and so protect them all.

"This is just like before," he said. "It's just like that time we fought Piedmon," he said.

"But this is entirely different," Homeostasis said. "Because this is an illusion depending on your survival I was able to take control of Hikari one last time. Since I myself am beyond the rules of the Digital World and the Human World the rules do not apply for me to be directly in it," she said. "But I can still guide you."

Takeru nodded his head. "I understand," he said. "So if we make it through alive until this dream is 'over' then we win and we are back to where we were before?"

"That's correct," she said. "We only have to hang on for a few more minutes," she said, both of them noticing everything around them even more was breaking as if they were almost free of an illusion.

"We have to find somewhere to hide until this is over."

"How about over there?" Takeru said pointing towards a building about ready to crumble.

"It looks safe enough," she said, Takeru managing an entertained smile.

"Don't worry it's going to be just fine," he grinned.

She looked ahead of him noticing a cheerful conniving smile on his face that had been his telltale mischievous side.

"What are you planning?" she asked studying him.

He looked forward, ever so confident in himself. "To do what me and Angemon did before," he said. "To save everyone."

Homeostasis paused as if contemplating him.

"And you mean to tell me you can pull it off? How could you accomplish such a feat?"

Takeru felt even more sure with each foot step towards the end of the dream.

"Just watch," he said pushing towards the answer. "You'll see."

Terrifymon scoured the land searching for the last two remaining pests that had dared challenged his rule. He disappeared in dark blurs in several areas, not knowing anywhere that the two who had escaped him could hide. With the latest crack appearing near his feet, he groaned out frustrated.

"Curse you witch!" he howled. "I swear I will not let this dream end! My will be done!" he shouted turning around as if something had been observing him. He looked on noticing what appeared to be a digidestined. With the time running out he knew he could not bother to inspect it. It had to be them. There was no doubt. Only they were the ones who had that 'head covering' and 'strange necklace'. He could see glimpses of them ever so clearly from a distance.

He consolidated all of his power in his fist, a haunting flare scalding his hand slightly, but it would be no matter. Once they were dead before the dream ended they would be dead for real afterwards. Temporary pain was of no concern for him.

"Burn in eternal torment," he declared launching the flare at the structure, the haunting flare completely engulfing it causing it to collapse flames and all.

"It is over," he announced. "The Digidestined and their partners have all been slain. Let the dream spell be fulfilled!" he proclaimed holding up his hands, waiting for the dream to come to fruition.

After a moment or two holding his hands out in the air to complete it, he realized something was not right.

"I could not be mistaken," he said noticing cracks appear even more around the sky and ground and the vortex gathering strength. "That flare annihilated both of them. Their flesh would have melted from their bones nearly instantly," he groaned.

He flew over to the rubble in a rage flying through the flames burning himself ever so slightly. He tore apart the rubble and noticed among it pieces of a hat and silver links of a necklace. There were no charred remains of any humans.

"No," he said enraged. "I will not be deceived!" he shouted. "Not again!"

He exploded out of the rubble high into the air searching for the last two survivors.

"I will find you Digidestined!" he roared. "I will find you! I will murder you all!"

Takeru turned his head, Terrormon's machinations enraging him to a level he had never seen before. Him and Homeostasis were behind a hill having no where else to hide. He had hoped if Terrormon had become enraged enough he would lose all sense of rationale due to the time constraints.

He stared up at the vortex, noticing it appear to get larger, more cracks starting to appear everywhere.

"How much longer do we have Homeostasis?" he asked.

She looked at him and shook her head. "Just two minutes."

"Two minutes seems like a lifetime," he sighed.

"But you did buy enough time," she said watching Terrormon lose his mind looking for them. "It's either he finds us and game over or we ride out the clock," she said.

"Yeah," Takeru said twiddling his thumbs. "I just have a feeling it's going to be close," he sighed. "I don't want anything to happen to either of us," he said. "I will protect you Hikari. I don't care if this is a dream."

Homeostasis touched his cheek brushing a hair strand from across Hikari's face.

She then bent her face towards him and kissed him passionately, her hand on one side of his face, her other hand caressing his side up to his chest.

Takeru snapped his head wondrously looking at her.

"That was from Hikari," Homeostasis smiled licking the side of her lip. "She wants to tell you that she loves and will never leave your side."

Takeru felt the side of his cheek and then touched his lips. "It's different than before when you forced yourself on me," he said. "I actually felt Hikari's emotions through you," he smirked. "Can you tell her that I love her to and will see her soon?"

Homeostasis shook her head and laughed a little. "Don't worry. She already knows."

Takeru laughed a little himself, but noticed Homeostasis stare at him seriously. "Remember, as long as one of us survives then we all survive. Live through the nightmare Takeru," she said smiling sweetly, Takeru sensing something amiss.

He looked overhead and noticed Terrifymon shout at them from the air flying down in a rage with his sword drawn. "I've got you now!" Terrifymon roared. "You have run out of time!"

Takeru grabbed Hikari's hand and tried to run away with her, but she let go, Takeru stumbling turning around.

"What are you doing?!" he asked. "Hikari we have to get out of here! He's going to kill yo-!"

-Takeru shuddered in horror as Terrormon's sword pierced through her chest, Homeostasis not even groaning out.

"I have you!" he snickered. "Finally Homeostasis. You have nowhere left to run," he grinned victoriously. "I have finally slain you!"

Takeru wanted to run towards them, but remembered Homeostasis's words. He wondered why Hikari would let her do that, but he knew he had to live. He had to stay alive if they ever were going to go back!

Homeostasis grinned, Hikari's blood dripping down the blade. "You may be correct," she said grabbing onto the blade. "You thought we had fallen into your trap," she said holding it in, Terrifymon fighting to get it out of her, "But really you had fallen into ours."

"Witch!" Terrifymon spat all over her face bellowing out curses. "Release me! I command you!"

"It's demeaning isn't it Terrifymon being at the mercy of someone else?" she taunted, her grip slipping.

"You're going to die just like the others!" he said infuriated. "You're going to-"

-All of a sudden Hikari's body lit up, her eyes brimming with all of Homeostasis's power.

"I command you let go!" he shouted. "Let go of that damn corpse!"

"Such language is not befitting a king," she chuckled, Takeru looking back as he ran.

"I will not let you prevent me from my Kingship!" he declared.

"You don't have a choice," she said still wrestling over control of the blade. "You only have ten seconds."

He let go of one hand from the sword, Takeru noticing him take aim right at him with his haunted flare of one hand.

"Perish!" he shouted, unleashing the flame, Takeru diving to the right seeing it barely come singing him slightly.

"Takeru!" Homeostasis shouted, Terrormon taking advantage of her distracted state and forcefully pulling the blade from her, Hikari now deceased.

Terrormon flew in a rage with his sword at Takeru and stabbed down, Takeru rolling to the side avoiding being impaled.

He then got up and ran biding his pain, surging with adrenaline and the desire to live. He knew he had only had five seconds left if he could trust Homeostasis at her word. He turned and from the corner of his eye noticing the vortex getting larger, the dream nearly completely undone. At that moment he saw another haunted flare launch over to him, Takeru tripping as he ran, the flare burning him slightly.

He collapsed against a rock and turned over, his body screaming in pain from his burns.

"Just one more!" Terrormon shouted, flying over to him raising his blade, Takeru knowing he probably did not have time to create a finishing attack. "One more! he shouted holding out his blade, the point dangerously pointing towards his body to pierce him through.

Takeru knew he had to do something, anything. Even if it bought him a single second, it would be enough. He saw Terrormon rushing towards him and imagined all the faces of the digimon and digidestined depending on him. Especially Hikari. If he was done in, all of them would be gone! The world would have no more hope!

He sighed, breathing out, his nerves shaking him to the core. He then realized he was not on a rock, but a sand dune. No, he did not need to even tense up, in fact, now that he realized it…

"-My Kingdom is forever confirmed!" Terrormon shouted stabbing the blade forward, but the blade missed and embedded itself into the sand dune, Takeru sliding down at his feet.

"No!" Terrormon shouted, the whole dream completely collapsing. "No!" he exclaimed.

With all of his power he lifted the blade above Takeru's heart, Takeru smiling and grinning.

"The dream will never be over!" he shouted desperately, thrusting the blade down. "The dream will never be-"

-The whole dream completely shattered everyone lost in the throes of broken dimensions and chaos.

Takeru opened his eyes after being blinded, the shattered dimension revealing the truth of reality. He turned to the right overjoyed to see Hikari as if nothing had happened to her. Taichi and the others were ok to. And so were their digimon. The only one who didn't seem at all all right was Terrormon who no longer was Terrifymon.

"What happened to me?" Daisuke asked. "I could have sworn I got slaughtered by a meat cleaver."

"Me to," Ken said. "But we're alive! None of us are hurt!"

"Oh thank goodness!" Miyako said excitedly. "If I had died I would have missed out on all the delicious food and wine out there! To think of all the sweets I would have missed!"

"I can't believe we did not die," Iori said. "It all felt so real."

"I know," Akama agreed. "I was most impressed you attacked him with that kendo sword. You have some guts Iori," he admitted.

"It all felt like a nightmare," Sora said. "Me and you Yamato were burned alive."

"I think our relationship has enough fire to it," he said, Sora giggling after.

"What I don't get is why you weren't in it," Yamato said turning to Homeostasis. "Why?"

"I borrowed Hikari's body and explained how to escape it," she said looking up. "By my own power it was impossible. That attack is practically unbreakable."

"What do you mean unbreakable?" Koushiro asked feeling his laptop as if glad it was still there.

"Quite simply the only way out of an attack like that 98% of the time is to defeat the one who created it. 'The Will of the King' attack he used is a final move that finishes all his opponents by taking advantage of them. However, if anyone in that attack lives, the dream breaks apart. Because Takeru survived the dream ended."

"So we just had to wait it out?" Hikari asked.

"No," she replied. "Normally waiting it out does not work. The 2% chance of escaping occurred. In fact, their it is right now," she said pointing in the air, seeing a portal manifest from the dark ocean. "That portal, no, the powers that are bursting out of it were powerful enough to disrupt the dream. You have that to thank for escaping."

"But just what is that?" Taichi asked. "Is that on our side? Or our enemies?"

Everyone looked at it the portal ominously calling out to them as it became larger and larger.

Terrormon also seemed to notice.

"What madness is this," he snarled, "That can overcome the Will of the King?!" he shouted looking up towards the portal.

"You don't know what that is?" Meiko said a bit confused.

"I know everything in my domain," he responded. "That is entirely foreign whatever it is," he said standing up facing it.

"Who dares to challenge me?!" he exclaimed. "Make yourself known! Or prepare to face my wrath!"

At the moment he said that the swirling portal seemed to enlarge itself, taking in dark clouds in the sky with it, clusters of thunder also thrusting into it.

"Just what is that power?!" Koushiro exclaimed.

Taichi's eyes seemed to follow it who stared at the portal, her eyes focused in on it as if she turned away she would have lost everything.

"Meiko," he said. "Just was it that's coming out of there?"

Her whole frame suddenly shuddered, Taichi unsure of what was coming over her.

"Meimei!" Mimi shouted. "Are you all right? Dear, you're shivering like you saw a ghost or tried on a knock off brand!"

She shakily lifted up her finger towards it, barely able to say anything like she was a paralyzed.

"Just what digimon is coming from that?" Taichi said amazed.

"Taichi put on your goggles!" Yamato scolded.

"Oh, right," Taichi said. He took them out of his pocket just in case for emergencies and placed them over his eyes.

"Just...what am I seeing?" he asked looking into it.

The portal suddenly practically enveloped the whole sky, winds blasting out of them.

"I see something!" Miyako exclaimed.

"Me to!" Iori agreed. "But wait, is that a digimon?"

"No," Meiko said shaking, watching as a figure appeared out of the portal, bearing resemblance to no digimon she had ever seen. "That's not a digimon!"

"Then what is it?" Taichi asked.

They looked on noticing that they could finally see what was descending.

Meiko hushed for a moment, looking into the eyes of the most fearful thing imaginable.

"That's him..." she said, noticing a man descend.

He had bewitching blue green eyes, short dark hair, and a pale face; about in his thirties. He sported a loose fitting trench coat and slacks; spreading his arms as he descended grinning as if everything had been arranged for such a time as this to make his arrival.

Meiko could not turn away petrified at his appearance. That face that appeared on the portrait in the Apotheoseia building headquarters, dominant, confident, ensnaring all in his grasp, everyone worshiping and adoring him, being fooled into the destruction of their very souls…

...It could only be him, the mastermind, the one that she had been warned about...

"...Rei...Kurenada…"
