After Luffy walks both Nami and Nojiko home after school, he heads home to his own residence. Unlocking the door, he kicks his shoes off to the side and goes looking in the fridge. "Grandpa! I'm home!" Luffy says taking a piece of leftover ham and heating it in the microwave.

Footsteps can be heard coming down the stairs, Garp rubbing his eyes as if Luffy's yelling woke him up. "What are you heating up?"

"Some ham I found in the fridge."

Garp goes over to the couch and sits down to watch the evening news. "How was school? You got scolded for being late right?"

"I joined the track team again, and no."

"Where's your homework? Get started on it right away."

"I don't have homework."

"Like I believe you, you've been saying that since the first grade." Garp scoffs.

Luffy watches the microwave and attempts to open it before the timer sounds off. Succeedingly, he grabs his plate and sits by the table pulling out his phone.

"Did you come back because you missed me or because you don't want to start over?" Garp makes small talk.

"Um..the latter option."

"Ya damn brat!" Garp throws a pillow at the back of Luffy's head. "Well, you really disappointed your dad. He just wants to make amends for all those years."

"I don't hate him. He's just not someone that doesn't stay on my mind." Luffy scrolls through his Kumagram feed.

"Well, I wasn't an exact perfect father towards him either, so I guess he gets that from me."

"Hey, listen I need some money." Luffy ignores what he says. "These sneakers on my timeline are fire."

"What happened to the money you earned from babysitting that damn red haired son?"

"Summer is what happened. I'll pay you back soon. Please, grandpa?" Luffy looks over his chair pleading with his puppy dog eyes.

Garp sighs and is silent for a while. "Actually-" he begins, "the whole cake donut shop is hiring. I saw it in the papers. You should go down there and apply for a job. One where you constantly work and not just when they need you."

"So...that's a no for the shoes?"

Garp narrows his eyes at Luffy. "Fineeeee, I'll go down there this weekend." Luffy turns back around and finishes his leftovers.

Friday came quick, the first week of school is about to be over. The candidates for student council are announced over the PA system. Nami, Koala and Charlos are running for president which came to a surprise to Nami. The snotty brat whose parents funded the school in some department wanted to step up to take the power. Nami freezes at her locker, she stared at her posters she was going to put up after school.

Why in the world would he want to be student body president? Nami thought to herself.

Behind her back, some students whispered about her candidacy being canceled. She shuts her locker and heads to lunch. Of course, being one the popular students you have people gossiping about you. Nami didn't know what to feel, anger? Shame?

She didn't stay in the cafeteria, instead she headed out to the field house where she, Luffy, Zoro and Usopp hung out for the past few days. Luffy and Zoro were already there, Usopp was probably in line for lunch.

"Did you guys hear?" she asks them nervously.

"What's the matter?" Luffy asks concerningly.

"If it's anything about moving exams date earlier, I don't wanna hear it." Zoro shuts his eyes, getting ready for his afternoon nap.

"No, Charlos is running for fxcking president!" Nami cusses out of anger. "This year is already a total bust. I can feel it."

"No he's not. Who would pick him over you? You're everyone's favorite person." Luffy tries to comfort her.

"Um, that's a hard no." Zoro adds.

"I'm sure Koala is freaking out too." Nami takes out her phone to text Koala about the announcements. Usopp comes walking over with his fries again.

"Oi!" Usopp waves at his friends. Only Luffy waves back, Nami was too busy on her phone and Zoro was half asleep.

"Oh Nami, I heard the candidates for Student Council President, tell me, what chance do you think you have of winning?" Usopp puts his backpack down to sit on. "Koala threw that big ass party last week and Charlos has money. Everyone is expecting you to drop out. What're you gonna do?"

Nami looks up at Usopp. "I...I dunno."

"Oi, Usopp cut it out, she's already freaked out." Zoro says.

"Don't listen to him Nami, I'll help you with your campaign. You got all of us here to help." Luffy gives her a reassuring smile. Nami half smiles at him and takes a deep breath.

"I'm not trying to discourage you, I'm being realistic. What will you bring to the table that'll make people vote for you?" Usopp looks between Nami and Luffy.

"He's right." Nami sighs, "I won't drop out, I'll put up a good fight. It's gonna take a lot of hard work though."

After school Nami puts up her campaign posters with the help of Vivi and Nojiko before they part ways with Nojiko to change for their first track practice.

"Well, you already have my vote, I'm sure Kohza's gonna vote for you too. Even if I have to make him." Vivi reassures her.

Vivi pulls the doors open to the female locker room in the gym. Girls were already inside changing into their practice clothes, some glance at the two students and whisper among each other. Vivi looks at Nami in confusion. "Hey, guys are you all excited for our first practice?" Vivi asks with a smile.

"Yeah." said a girl in the back.

Nami and Vivi both put their bags down in front of two empty lockers and start to strip into their underwear, some girls subtly glance in Nami's direction watching her struggle to put on her spandex shorts. A few of the girls quietly chuckle and Nami lowers her head in embarrassment. Vivi helps Nami with the tight shorts not noticing the girls behind them silently judging her best friend. Nami watched how Vivi had it easy putting on her shorts and how slim her stomach looked when she was in her sports bra.

"Come on girls we don't want to be late and have to do extra laps around the gym." Rebecca cockily smiles at Nami with a group of girls behind her. Nami glares at her as she walks past her leaving the locker room.

"She's right. Hurry, take your shirt off." Vivi says tying her shoelaces.

Nami quietly unbuttons her blouse and takes a look at her own stomach. She pinches the bit of fat on her stomach and quickly changes into her sports bra and top.

In the gym, the girls were on the opposite side of the boys and stood in a circle surrounding their female coach, Hina. She went down the register checking off the female names. Nami and Vivi both walk out with their hair in ponytails, like the other girls. Rebecca looks at Nami approaching the group with a smug look on her face.

After registration is taken the girls warm up with three laps around the gym which Nami struggled a bit with, falling behind the group.

"Look how much weight she's gained."

"Guess she's too big for a small."

Nami overhears some girls jogging in front of her talking about her. She looks for Vivi, but Vivi was up front with Rebecca. The boys weren't in the gym for long, they practiced outside today on the track outside. Once the girls finished their laps they formed a circle in the gym. Rebecca in the center leading the stretches.

After the first practice was over the girls all head back to the locker room for their belongings. "Oh come on, practice wasn't that hard." Nami hears Rebecca saying to another girl.

Nami sits on the bench trying to catch her breath after the hour and half long practice. "Maybe if you find it too hard you can quit." Rebecca says aloud, causing some other girls to chuckle.

"Hey Rebecca, some girls are still getting back in shape from summer. It's only the first day." Vivi says, unaware of Nami's self conscious state.

"Oh I know, but it's too bad some aren't genetically fit and slim like most of us. Your body looks so great Vivi, low body fat and toned muscles. You can't even tell your on birth control." Rebecca answers, taking off her shirt to show off her incredibly toned body.

"No, I didn't gain weight from the pill, but it's totally different for everyone. Look at your abs, what's your secret?" Vivi checks out Rebecca's toned eleven abs.

"Like, I said. It's genetics." Rebecca shoots a satisfied look at Nami.

"Her body is great! Right Nami?" Vivi looks at her friend who seemed spaced out.

"Wha-," Nami looks up to see everyone staring at her, "Pardon?"

"Rebecca's body, totally bangable right?" Vivi asks, changing her shoes.

"Oh Vivi, I wouldn't say bangable." Rebecca tries to play humble.

Other girls in the locker room agree with Vivi, only making Rebecca more egotistical. The locker room starts to decrease in numbers making Nami one of the last to leave. Vivi had already headed out because Kohza was waiting for her outside. Nami puts her school uniform back on, ashamed to walk out in her too tight shorts.

Walking out of the school doors she sees Luffy sitting on the stairs waiting for her, as if he sensed her. He turns around.

"Ready to go?" He smiles innocently at her. Nami puts her best fake smile on, nodding her head in agreement.

A/N: sorry to all the Rebecca stans, I chose her to be the mean girl of this series. Forgive me :) becauseeee what's a high school drama without a mean girl?
