Thank you Crazily_FunX1000 on Watpad for editing this chapter. It was good talking to you. So thank you again.
Sanji didn't know what to do. He glanced down from the unconscious body that is Zoro on the floor, hoping with all his might it's not permanent, up to Tim who was glaring daggers at him.
Well isn't this a different version of the man from how he was at the shop.
Tim regarded the man worse than a bug. A worthless and disgusting creature that should be disposed of immediately.
A glint of something metallic in the man's hand catches Sanji's attention and upon further inspection, he realized it was a knife.
Not good!
If it comes to it, the cook wasn't sure if he would be able to win the fight. He hadn't been, nor had the opportunity to practice, fighting for such a long time that he was sure to be rusty as hell. Heck! He could barely do some techniques, but hopefully, it will be enough.
Tim suddenly charged forward, about to thrust his weapons into the surprised blond who was able to dodge the attack at the last second by throwing his weight aside. Next, Tim goes for a side swipe which Sanji ducks by squatting down.
It was clear that Tim was going for quick brutal attacks Sanji had to think and act fast.
Tim thrust his weapon downwards and Sanji took the opportunity to do a backflip, kicking the man's chin upwards. It succeeded in both destabilizing the man and putting some distance in between them. He could feel the instance the toe of his shoe connect with Tim's chin.
Although Sanji couldn't see clearly he could tell Tim was holding his chin, frowning. He 'tsks' and Sanji took a defensive stance.
"You'll pay for that," Tim growled in the most threatening way possible. Sanji attempted a momentary retreat by backing up in the hallway but received a light cut on his cheek. He side kicked his right leg he thought the attack came from. His foot felt something and guessed it was Tim's leg. However, the man must have been close to the cook as Sanji received a second scratch, only deeper and on his arm.
Sanji kicked again, this time hitting something that felt like a stomach before bolting into the hallway in search of help, be a nurse or doctor, or a totally random person possessing a phone or not. He needed to call help or send someone to get help.
The cook believed he could take the man down, despite being a long time since he's fought, the little scuffle revealed that the man was not physically strong. Compared to Zoro who he used to fight with back in high school, this was mere training.
A smile formed on the cook's lips as he remembered how himself and Zoro use to be. They fought so much that the other use to joke that even their shadow couldn't stand each other. Boy did he ruin that.
Near the reception of the floor he saw someone with a hat.
"What are...?" Sanji slaps his hands over the man's mouth, effectively shutting him up and pulling him under the reception desk. Once hidden, Sanji looks at him with his index finger over his mouth signalling him to be quiet. The hat wearing man nodded hesitantly and Sanji uncovers his mouth.
Thanks to the moonlight, they were able to see the silhouette of someone walk past them.
"I'll kill you, you stupid bastard. I'll kill anyone who think they can take Zoro away from me. He's mine and only mine." He ranted to himself. The two hidden men heard the ding of the elevator before it fell silence. They waited a little, just to make sure the path is clear before both stood from their hiding place. Only a rumble and the tapping of the rain on the windows is heard.
Sanji sees the man more clearly now, he was wearing a black superior hat with a yellow brim, a red pompom on top and the word penguin written on the front. He also wore a white jumpsuit with black boots.
"Who are you? Are you the one that cut the power?" 'Penguin' asks.
"No I'm here to see a patient. And you are?"
"A nurse. I was about to leave when the power cut off everywhere. I'm checking on everyone."
"Nurse?" Sanji inquired.
"Yes but I usually work with the doctor, surgeon Law."
"Law, Trafalgar?" Sanji couldn't thank the goddesses above enough when he saw the man nod.
"Look, I'm a friends of the patient Zoro and he's under Law's care."
"Yes I know." He says.
"Yeah well the guy we were hiding from did something to him and he's on the floor past out or something, I don't know I'm obviously not a doctor. You need to get to him and check to see if he's fine or not but I need you to also call him or anyone Zoro might know that will bring Sabo here and tell Sabo that Tim is here and Sanji is fighting him."
"What about you?"
"I'm Sanji, I seem to have gotten him mad so I'll fight him. Can I trust you to do this?" Sanji asks. Penguin nods and Sanji smiles.
They walked up to Zoro and Penguin dashes inside to check on the unconscious man. Sanji stares for while before taking his leave. As much as he would love to stay with the green hair man, he needed to get rid Tim.
If the man thinks he's in danger or something he could leave and Zoro will never be safe again. Sanji had made his mind to save the man he loves, whether the latter likes it or not, whether he wants it or not.
Sanji starts walking around the floor before he remembers that he must have gone to a different level. But which one? He hops into the elevator and looks at all the floors. He couldn't decide on which one. What was Tim's thought process when choosing one? He was chasing Sanji so that means he would be thinking about Sanji, as creeping as that makes him feel.
The more he thought about it the more he couldn't decide so he chose to go down one floor. As he waited he tried to think of why Tim would choose this. One, he doesn't want to be far away from Zoro. Two, neither does Sanji really. Three, if he needs to get Zoro fast he can get there faster if he's closer. Four, he needs him to be on this floor.
Sanji looks up as the elevator dings, the door opens and just like the last floor, it's dark. He slowly advances forward. He doesn't want to run and bump into him. As he searched, a terrifying thought hit him.
What if he never left the last floor? What if he was searching for Sanji and they had just missed each other and Sanji just thought he wasn't there? Zoro and Penguin are in trouble, unless he already got him. He doesn't know the nurse. What if he can't fight? Then Zoro could be gone. He needs to get back. Sanji turns and sees something from the corner of his eye, he glanced and saw someone running up to him. His first thought was that it was another nurse or even a patient wanting to know what's going on.
He saw the glint and then the outline of a knife. It's Tim, no patient or nurse has a knife in the hospital. Sanji quickly dodges to the side and goes for a kick in the stomach again. This makes Tim mad and he starts slashing like crazy. Sanji dodges to the best of his capacity but was still hit here and there, fortunately, nothing life threatening.
Sanji saw an opening and got on his hands to spin, enabling continuous kicks on his body. But Tim is somehow still standing straight. He starts slashing again and Sanji dodges again but better this time. Tim has no rhythm, no skill on how to wield a knife but Sanji caught on to how he slashes.
The knife is annoying and Sanji needs to get rid of it. Lucky for him Tim seems to be getting tired. Sanji saw an opportunity and took it. Like something out of a martial arts film, Sanji kicks Tim's hand and the knife falls out of it. Tim seems shocked by this and Sanji seized the moment to kicks him in his legs, the knees, and when he falls, goes for the throat. When Tim's on his back Sanji brings his leg straight up in the air, with the help of gravity, smashed his foot on his face. But Sanji wasn't satisfied with just one kick and repeatedly crushed the man until he was sure the other wasn't a threat anymore. He's not moving for now.
Sanji let out a deep sigh and sat next to the unconscious body. Damn, did he wish to have a cigarette right now. He really needed a smoke.
The blond looked up to the only light source present. The moon shone beautifully tonight and it calmed Sanji a little.
He hopes Zoro is okay, hopes that Zoro will talk to him... Hopes that he'll accept him and Luane.
