The area was being set up, we had gotten the lights and some generators to power them. "He's close." Proton stated. "I know." I replied, I then looked at the heroes and said. "You are aware, some of you may die…". "We'll do what we must to save this city, to end this threat.". I nodded in approval, if only all heroes were like this. "At this rate you won't have to lure him here…" Proton said as he looked down the alley, lights were being destroyed at the end of it. It was time. "Get into positions, and remember the plan...protect the light at all costs. It's the only way he'll be weak enough to beat.". I ordered as the heroes all went to the lights, they were situated on two buildings on the opposite sides of the avenue, four lights were set up and two heroes defended each light. I saw a figure walking by in the distance "Yamiaka!" I shouted into the figure once everyone was in position. I saw a figure stop, and turn. He was walking to me and behind him were at least sixty of those monsters. "He's already gotten more…" I muttered under my breath. The figure walked over to me along with his monsters, he was walking in a confident manner, his monsters were either crawling or destroying the street lights around us, he was in speaking distance. Upon making it to me, he smirked. I thought of Izuku, and then of Ugoka...I then took a deep breath and stared at him. "Kyokia!" Yamiaka said in a feigned friendly tone. "How wonderful to see-" "You had...exactly...one rule…..and yet you broke it." I interrupted him. "The deal was that you wouldn't kill him." There was pain in my voice, and I could all but feel the hero's vision on me. Yamiaka chuckled as his monsters snarled at me. "I said I had to trick you or make a deal, I never said I had to keep the deal did I?" He sinisterly quizzed me. My eyes raised with realization, but they went down just as fast. " ...it was a trick all along then?" I asked him with a tired sigh. "That it was, Kyo.". Yamiaka said with a nod. Now I was even more mad, I wondered how long he planned this out, I wondered why I allowed myself to trust him in the first place. I wondered how I could've been so careless with Ugoka and Izuku's lives. In a fit of anger I threw a telekinetic burst at the ground with a frustrated scream. "Ha! What?" Yamiaka asked me "You sad that I killed Izu-". "Don't you dare say his name!" I yelled as I pointed my axe at him. The monsters snarled as they looked at me, they looked like they were ready to pounce but Yamiaka didn't allow them to, it was obvious he wasn't done gloating. "I simply couldn't resist doing it, I-" He started, but despite him not being done with the topic I certainly was. "Enough!" I yelled more so in his direction than at him, he simply chucked in response. "..It's my fault…" I started solemnly. "I fell for your trap, brought you to power...my arrogance is to blame...Izu-" I couldn't even bring myself to say his name now, I recomposed myself and said "...His death is on my hands, as it is on yours…Just like Ugoka...But I will fix this.". "Is that now?" Yamiaka asked, clearly toying with me. "Now!" I shouted. The lights were flicked on and I heard Yamiaka utter a "What!?". "This is for everyone you've killed!" I screamed as I got ready to fight him.

"Go! Destroy the lights!" Yamiaka yelled as his monsters started to crawl up the building, it was up to the heroes to do their part. I threw a large gust of telekinetic energy at Yamiaka, he quickly dodged it and tried to slice me with his sword. I formed a barrier to block his advance, I then ripped a chunk of pavement from the ground and slammed it into him which set him off balance. I took advantage of this and threw him into a nearby wall. As Yamiaka got back up I lifted up small chunks of pavement, turned them into skewers and threw them at him, he blocked most but was hit by a few. He looked surprised as he bled from his wounds, I realized my theory was correct...he was so strong because of the darkness around him, the light was making him weaker. I looked to the heroes to see they were busy fighting the monsters, things were going relatively well...I then looked back to Yamiaka and yelled "You're unlearned aren't you? Your quirk is making up for your lack of skill!". Yamiaka didn't respond as he charged at me again. Once he reached me he tried sliced at me, I parried him with my axe's shaft and kicked him away. As he stumbled I shot a burst at him, which launched him into the air and I threw him farther away. I raised my hand and threw whatever was around me at him. He dodged what he could and got hit by the rest, he jumped at me with intent to slice at me a third time. I side stepped him and dug my axe into his back, he let out a pained scream and rolled away. He huffed as he knelt there, then smiled. "I don't need this." He said as he threw his sword away, it disappeared and he continued. "I only need to hit you once.". I threw some more bursts at him using my axe and he dodged one after another, he got closer and punched at me. After a few dodged punches I hit him with my axe handle, then went for his neck. A dark barrier formed near his neck, but it did crack a bit. I jumped back before he could hit me and he said "Enough of these games.". "Agreed" I replied as I slammed my axe into the ground. I started to charge up my offensive super attack and a tornado of cement and even a few of his monsters formed around me. He covered his eyes and I took this as an opportunity, I propelled myself using my telekinesis and charged my axe whie mid air, I slammed it into the ground infront of him which set him into a defensive stance. I swung my axe at him time and time again, but he either dodged it or his dark barrier blocked it. As I attacked I started to remember Izuku, the times we shared, the childhood we grew up in, I remembered Ugoka and the friendship I had just mended with him, my attacks grew faster. I yelled in rage, Yamiaka was still focused on defending. I jumped away and shot more bursts at him, in an attempt to distance myself but Yamiaka jumped back at me. He punched and kicked at me, after dodging a few I swung my axe at him, it cut through his barrier and dug into his arm. He yelled, but started to laugh once he was done, I realized what happened. As I hit him with my axe, he successfully punched me. Everyone, the monsters included watched as I fell to my knees, Yamiaka was injured which was more than what could be said about the other time's he fought, but regardless he came out victorious. "And thus your losing streak continues!" He declared in front of me. "I'm not shocked you won, but I felt I owed it to someone to at least try to beat you without dying…" I stated as I thought of my Uncle, I had failed to do this without sacrificing myself for it. "But I think we both know what's at stake now…" I stated. "I must say, the lights were a good plan." Yamiaka said as he looked around, nodding at the lights. "And you even teamed up with heroes!...but they couldn't help you." He smirked and shook his head. "Ah it doesn't matter." He concluded. "I have no more time to entertain you.".

He extended his hand out and formed his sword, but I knocked him back using a wave of energy, what little energy I had left. "I'm not done with you yet…" I uttered. Yamiaka smirked and said "I suppose after all you've done for me, you should die standing.". I pulled out the stim and got ready to inject it. "...Is that…" Yamiaka said, his face then dawned with realization. "Wait! If you use that you'll die! You ca-". "Round two Yamiaka." I uttered as I Injected it into my bloodstream. "Ah!" I grunted as I felt it coursing through my veins, My skin started to turn into stone, and my stamina was returning. "You know...it's funny." I said as I started to get back up. "I never saw myself as being a hero again. But Izuku always did…" I thought of Izuku, and lamented on how I'd be with him in about seven minutes. "Woah…" One of the heroes said to the side "he looks like…". "Now I have no choice. Goodbye Yamiaka.". I said to him, and raised my axe.

I charged at him, giving him no time to react. The fighting ensued as his monsters started to attack the heroes again. I slashed at Yamiaka with my axe and traded blows with him, his sword hit my skin, but didn't do much. He looked at me and said "Y-You should be exhausted now! What is-" I interrupted him by backhanding him with my fist and slashed at him again. His barrier took the hit and he backed away. "This changes nothing! I will defeat you!" He yelled at me. I raised my arm at him and watched as the rock formed into a cannon. A laser shot out of it in his direction, he narrowly dodged it and came at me again. I shot a channeled laser at him and as he ran around it I threw some of the balls that were forming on my head to the ground via telekinesis. I stopped firing the laser and raised my hand out, I started to raise spike-like structures from the ground from under him. He dodged them but in turn ran right into the balls on the ground. "Got ya." I muttered as I charged a laser at him, he couldn't dodge and in turn got hit directly from it. He went flying back and yelled in anger, I concentrated on his position and brought up six pieces of pavement around him, he jumped as they slammed into each other and made his way to me. He threw his sword and was getting his fists ready, he was going to use his super attack. I was prepared for this, but I wasn't just gonna give it to him. He continued to jump over the pavement and I stealthy put some balls in front of me, as he reached me he tried to punch me but found himself stuck again. I dug my axe into his side, kicked him and charged my axe before hitting him again. He went flying into the wall and yelled "Thralls! Assist me!" I looked as the thralls all stopped what they were doing and made their way to me. The heroes started to follow suit but I just yelled "No! Defend the lights!" They looked like they wanted to argue but didn't. If he destroyed the lights there was no telling what he'd do. The "thralls'' all charged at me but I found them weak, one swipe of my axe killed about three of them. As I slashed at them Yamiaka yelled "I win!" I turned to see him next to me, it was too late to react and he hit me head on. I felt all of my vitality leave me and I went flying into another wall. "I told you, this changes nothing!" Yamiaka said as he approached me with his sword once again. I noted that I'd in fact be defeated right here If I didn't go to Taru for help, I activated Taru's quirk and got back up, much to Yamiaka's dismay. "Impossible!" He shouted. "You're gonna have to fight much harder than that to kill me!" I yelled at him as I charged at him again. He blocked my axe with his sword and jumped back. "Go back, get the lights!" He commanded the thralls, he knew they wouldn't help him. "I never should have trained you…" He said to me. I just stared at him and said "...You never should have broken our deal."

I started to form more spikes under him, he ran around in an attempt to get to me and I in turn formed a wall which he ran into and subsequently got stabbed by the spikes. He kept running though, being hit by some gusts of telekinetic energy on the way and slashed at me. I dodged his attack and slashed at him with my axe, which was followed by forming a laser at him. He was hit by both and went flying back once again. "Ha..ha ha.." Yamiaka started. "Even if you do kill me, you'll die as well…". "That's the plan." I informed him as I walked to him. I started to throw gusts of energy at him using my axe, as he dodged I started to throw balls around me to deny him access. He ran around and jumped over the balls, I in turn threw a chunk of pavement at him mid air, slammed him into the balls and formed spikes under him. When he got loose he was badly bleeding and didn't have much left in him, he looked at his thralls and saw they were not faring any better. "Kill me…" He started. "And you'll leave something far worse to take my place.". "I won't be around to see it." I replied. He just laughed and said "We'll see." He charged at me again, but this time I just charged at him as well, our blades clashed and we were locked in the finale of our fight, we both knew that. "You lose either way!" He yelled as his blade hit my axe's shaft. "But I'm taking you with me!" I yelled back as my axe hit his blade. I hit at him again and when he blocked me he said "You'll never see them again...or her.". I yelled and swung at him with my axe, but as he went to block I used telekinesis to move his arm which resulted in my hitting him. He stumbled, and went for a strike. I sidestepped him and slashed at him again. He gripped his side for a few seconds, his breaths were heavy and he laughed. "You think you'll win!?" He swiped at me with his sword, I blocked it but it was followed by a kick. It knocked me back and he tried to hit my head with his sword, I parried it and hit him in the face with my axe's shaft, I then elbowed him in the face which sent him stumbling back and used telekinesis to summersault at him, axe in hand and come crashing down on him with it. I took out the axe and kicked him away. His armor was completely broken and all I needed was one more good hit, then I'd win. He swung his sword desperately as he yelled "I'll never go back! Never!" I blocked it and said "Don't worry, you won't have to." We clashed and he said "No...I won't." with a smirk. There was obviously a double meaning to that, but I didn't care...I was already a dead man. He went to attack me and I in turn charged up my attack. We traded blows and my axe landed in his shoulder. His body jolted and I forced him onto his knees by pushing the axe lower.

"I...You…" Yamiaka sputtered out, his dark pigment disappeared and he blinked a few times before he finally said with a smile. "You did it...You killed me.". I exhaled, I was tired after that but I knew I wouldn't have to worry about that soon, I looked over to the heroes, six were still standing on the rooftops and the thralls seemed to be melting. "I…" Yamiaka started "I'm...so sorry…". I was taken aback, I just couldn't...the audacity! "What? SORRY!?" I started, did he really think that would change anything? "Why on earth do you think-". "Listen to me Kyokia...I don't have much time." Yamiaka pleaded. "Why do you think I have so many powers, so many quirks?" I paused, somewhat intrigued. "I...I don't know! Why?". "because they aren't separate quirks...they're all one…" Yamiaka informed me. "What?" was all I could manage as a response. "the bracelet…" He started. "What about it?" I asked. "As I said...It's a quirk…" he reminded me "Whoever killed the previous prisoner… becomes the next…". "Wait...but I-" I started to say in an attempt to address my current situation, but Yamiaka interrupted me by saying. "It doesn't matter if you're dying...It'll heal you...It'll have its prisoner…". This seemed unreal...but he had no reason to lie. I asked him "Why are you only telling me this now!?". "Do you think anyone would-" Yamiaka interrupted himself with a coughing fit, he was dying. "-willingly kill me if they knew?" he finished. "That place is a prison...no matter how lavish it is…" Yamiaka started to cough again, but this time blood was starting to come out. "It tries to change you...you don't know, just how hard I tried to keep being myself...how long I had to fight to be myself…". I started to realize what was going on. "This means I…you! Wh-". Yamiaka's personality changed...I was wrong about him. "No!" I pulled out the axe from his shoulder and he fell to the ground. "Yamiaka! Wait! No!" Only now did I realize it wasn't his fault, it was the bracelet. "I-I'm sorry! I-" My panic was interrupted by Yamiaka saying "That...would've been enough you know… a sm-" He started to cough again, he was staring at an apartment building at the end of the avenue. "-small apartment with a meaningless job." He said with a splutter at the end. "...a-and it'll be enough...for you too sir…" Yamiaka said as a single tear escaped his eye. "Yamiaka...I-" I started to say as his body seemed to become translucent. " I...I'm so so-" Yamiaka then combusted into white spheres and they shortly disappeared afterwards. Cheering erupted from the heroes "We did it!" I heard a voice shout. I on the other hand realized that I had lost three friends in one day, two of them to one who was more or less mind controlled...and I only realized in his last moments. As my skin turned into skin again I felt a sharp pain in my side, I then remembered the stim...the effects were taking place. My vision started to get blurry as I fell down. "Matchigaten!" I heard Proton yell. I could feel pain all over my body, but I knew this was gonna happen...I did it for him. "Kyokia!" I heard a familiar distressed voice call out. I chuckled, I was already hearing Izuku from the afterlife...maybe the universe wasn't as cruel as I thought. Then I remembered something...I wasn't going to die. The bracelet was going to "have its prisoner" and that was that...so if I was hearing Izuku's voice…

"I-Izuku?" I asked aloud.
