Chapter 31 – L.A/Sydney

(Spencer's POV)

I climb into the back of the SUV and lean my head back against the seat trying to ignore the bodyguard that doesn't seem to stop staring at me. This girl is really creeping me out. I should be used to people staring at me, but I'm not. I don't believe I ever will be. I get that she is my bodyguard, but shouldn't she be watching our surrounding for threats or something suspicious and not just staring at me like a dog wanting its favorite bone? The girl spoke so fast to me when I walked up to her, after seeing her holding a sign with my last name on it, that I never caught her name. I caught maybe a few words of what she said. I just raised my eyebrow at her and followed her out. Airport security already had my bags when I got off the plane and escorted me to the bodyguard. It's a huge process being away from John and I am learning very quickly that I don't like it. I know he is Ashley's bodyguard first, but this can't be a thing anymore. Maybe we should find someone else that can just travel with us the way John does so when we separate, I don't have to deal with a different random every single time. That will be something Ashley and I discuss with John at some point soon. Maybe, I'll bring it up now and John can find candidates so we can go over them when I am back with them.

I didn't get any sleep during that 10-hour plane ride. I spent most of my time messaging Ashley or typing away on my phone or laptop. I'm always trying to write lyrics. I love how far technology has come. We were able to stay connected even in the air and I could still get somethings done. Ashley needed the distraction. I don't know how she is that scared of flying when she does it more than anyone I know and has done it pretty much her whole life. Well, she is terrified of heights so… Anyways, she didn't get any sleep on the plane either. She was blowing me up the whole time. I didn't mind. I love that she wants to talk to me even though we have spent the last few months together with no breaks. I love being her person and being the comfort, she needs in our hectic lives.

I'm glad time went back 17 hours for me, it's about 1pm in L.A right now. I don't have anything until tomorrow so I will be able to get some rest and sleep. I feel sorry for my wonderful girlfriend though. It's about 8 in the morning and a day ahead in Sydney. The older singer is 19 hours ahead of me. She has a radio interview this morning, well her morning. A tv appearance this afternoon and another one this evening. I think Sydney is our busiest stop, other than when we were in New York. I hate that I had to leave her to deal with all our promotional stuff alone. I wish I could be there with her. I get that they want to build my fan base even more in the U.S, but shouldn't they want the same in other countries? I think Europe has my largest fan base. They could've waited for our 2 weeks break that we have after our Sydney shows and the couple other shows we have in Australia. Our break starts in less than 2 weeks. Okay, maybe I'm just being whiney because I don't like being away from my girlfriend. Either way they could've waited. They didn't need me back in the states when I had prior arrangements. This shouldn't have happened. I feel like they made my fans in Australia think they don't matter because I'm not there when I should have been. I don't feel like this makes me look good to my fans. Fans bought tickets to events not to only see Ashley. I think this was an inappropriate time to have me change up my schedule. They should've fit in me going to the states for promo stuff and not made me cancel prior commitments.

"Hey baby." I say as I place my phone to my ear after it vibrated in my hand. I knew it was Ashley. She has been telling me since she landed that she couldn't wait for me to land so she can call. I'm surprised I made it all the way to the car before she called.

"You sound so tired." Ashley mumbles.

"She says as she should be sleeping." I say through a giggle.

"True, but it's been too long since I heard your voice plus my thing isn't until 11. I have a couple hours before I need to be there, and I am only a few minutes away. How does it feel to be back in the states?"

"Without you? It sucks to be honest. I am headed to my parents' house. I just got into the car. We haven't even left the airport yet. I'll be more excited once I'm not so tired. I hope you can get some sleep soon baby. I know you are so busy today. I hate that I left you to deal with all that publicity alone."

"Trust me, Ethan already got an ear full this morning. I let him know how stupid it was to pull you from your obligations here. He won't be making that mistake again, plus I had Glen grill him too. It helped that it was coming from your manager. Anyway, how are you doing babe?"

"Just tired baby. How are you?" I ask.

"I miss you already and tired."

"I miss you too." I respond lightly. Ashley and I spent the 45 minutes it took me to get to my parents on the phone, talking about anything and everything that came into our heads. Mostly small irrelevant things. That bodyguard has been turned around in her seat the whole time staring at me like someone was going to open one of my doors and just grab me. I am not going to be able to handle her for the next 10 days. She is creepy as shit.

"I'll stop rambling and let you get settled at your parents. I'll call you after my small nap."

"Is John around you?" I ask. I grab my bags from the driver. The bodyguard walks behind me and starts to follow me up to the front door. I stop and turn around and look at her, questioningly. "Where are you going?" I ask. I'm not sure why she is following me.

"With you. I was told to stay with you." She declared.

"Um, no. I don't need you here. I would need you outside of here. I don't know where you are staying, but it's not here with me. So, have a good day." I exclaim then turn back around. I hear the woman huff as I head to the door faster than I was walking before.

"Yeah, he is right here. He was just making sure I didn't need anything before he went to his room. You need to speak with him?"

"Just tell him I need a new bodyguard. That one is weird and is creeping me out." I admit to my girlfriend.

"What is she doing?" Ashley wonders with a small giggle.

"She's making me uncomfortable by constantly staring at me. She literally stared at me the whole way here from the airport. I don't think she turned away once then she just thought she was staying here at my parents with me. Where the hell did, he find her? Also, I would like him to find someone else to travel with us so, when we do have to separate, I won't have to deal with this. I will already be comfortable with someone." I let out aggravatedly. Ashley giggles before I hear her filling John in.

"I will make sure she has a new one by morning and I have a few people in mind that would be great for the position. I can have them send over resumes and have a time set up for them to fly over here when you get back so the three of us can meet with them all together." I hear John say through the phone. Ashley agrees with him and I tell her to thank him for me.

"Okay baby, I will call you when I wake up to get ready for my interview. I love you." Ashley says.

"I love you too. I'll talk to you soon." I click end on the screen on my phone and walk into the living room. I don't hear or see anyone. I hope someone is home. I thought I would have a warmer welcome home than this. As I make my way through the house, I'm still not seeing anyone. I've even called out to my mother and father, but no answer. I guess I can just nap and see them whenever they get back. I really need to get some sleep anyways. I need to be able to visit with my family later. I laid down in my old bed and quickly fell into dreamland.

(3 hours later)

"Spence?" I hear as I start to wake up with someone lightly shaking me. I groan and roll over, pulling the blanket over my head. "Spence!" My mother says sternly. My eyes pop open and I uncover my head. I look behind me at her with a small smile on my face.

"Hey ma." My raspy sleepy voice lets out.

"This thing has been going off for the last on and off hour." She says handing me my phone off the nightstand. I glance at it and have 15 missed calls from Ashley. "Not that I don't mind you being here, but what are you doing here?" My mom questions. I give her a quizzical look. "I thought you would be staying with Ashley like you did last time. Did something happen between the two of you? I like her and all, but I will kick her ass if she hurt you in anyway…" I giggle at her ranting. "This isn't funny Spencer. Tell me what is going on right this minute." She demands.

"I'm going to jump out on a limb here and say that you and dad don't conversate about everything." I respond trying to hide my smirk.

"Don't try to turn this around on me and your father. WHAT DID SHE DO?" She raised her voice at the end. I lightly bite down onto my bottom lip to stop myself from laughing. She might completely freak out if I do laugh. My mother has officially gone crazy.

"Nothing." I nonchalantly reply.

"Spencer, I swear you are not too old for me to ground you to this bedroom." She threatens. That did it. I busted up laughing.

"Why would I stay at Ashley's when she is in Sydney? She didn't do anything. I wasn't lying about that. Dad knew I was going to be staying here because I didn't want to stay in Ashley's huge ass house alone when I could be here with you guys. That is why I said you and dad don't communicate."

"Why aren't you answering her phone calls then?" My mother points at the phone lying next to me on my bed.

"I was awake all day in Tokyo then I took a 10-hour flight. I haven't slept in over 24 hours. I'm tired. That's it. I didn't hear it going off. Ash and I are completely fine. Well, aside from being apart." I explain with a smile on my face.

"Don't tell her I thought she did something. I don't want her to think I don't trust her. You guys have been doing everything you can together for months now so I just assumed she would be coming back to L.A with you and you'd be at her place. Plus, you do kind of live there."

"Mom it's fine really. I really thought dad told you I'd be staying here, and Ashley wasn't coming back with me. She had to go there to do our tour stuff. The label wasn't bright with pulling me away from my obligations there. It's a big deal right now. I'll be putting all the blame on the label if it becomes an issue because I'm not being blamed for this shit. My fans can blame the higher ups." I rant out.

"You care so much about your fans." My mom says sitting on the edge of the bed. I sit up and get comfortable next to her. "So, things are good between you and Ashley?" I nod my head at her. "Good, I really like her. You guys seem good together and I can tell how happy you are. I love how happy you are. I'm glad you've found someone to be your other half. Your partner. The glow in you is astonishing." I take in my mom's confession trying to suppress the blush filling my cheeks.

"I'm very happy." I let out lightly. I look down at my phone when I hear it start to ring. It's Ashley. I smile at my phone as I pick it up.

"Your dad is going to start dinner in about an hour. I will come get you when its ready. Rest." My mom then walks out of my room and closes the door.

"Hey baby." I say lightly laying back down onto the bed answering my phone.

"Hey. Sorry I was blowing…"

"You don't need to be sorry, if I had something to do, I would have been doing the same thing to you. I miss you." I whisper the last part.

"I miss you too baby."

"Shouldn't you be at your radio thing?"

"I'm just waiting for them to call me in the room so we can start. I thought I'd try to call once more while I am waiting. How are you feeling? Where you able to get some sleep?" Ashley wonders. I nod my head. I clear my throat as I realize she can't see me. Ashely giggles. "You nodded at me, didn't you?"

"Yeah, I got some sleep. I'm still tired, but I'm glad my mom woke me up so I could talk to you. I'm missing you so much." I admit softly. I let out a small sigh and turn my head to the side staring at the blank bedroom door.

"Ashley, it's time." I hear someone tell her.

"Just one second. I need to go, baby. I miss you too. I'll see you before you know it. I love you. I'll call you again soon." Ashley quickly says and before I can reply she already has the phone hung up. What the hell was that? I know she don't like to keep anyone waiting, she didn't need to hang up on me though. That was so uncalled for. I could've replied in a few seconds. Geez. Ugh. Whatever. I'm just being emotional. That shouldn't be that big of a deal and it isn't. I am just missing her so much and I'm tired. I knew I would miss her, but it never registered to me that it would be this bad for me. I just want to fall asleep in her arms, run my fingers across her cheeks then lightly kissing them to wake her up. The smallest things are what I am missing most of all. I sigh once again then roll over and get comfortable. I grip my phone a little tighter in my hand as I feel sleep start to take over.

(3 ½ Hours Later)

"Spence?" My name being says starts to pull me from my sleep with a light knock on the door. I turn over and look towards the sound. My dad has his head sticking inside the room, looking at me. I give him a light smile. I search the bed for my phone remembering I fell asleep with it in my hand.

"Hey dad." I respond as I hit the screen of my phone to light it up and check the time. 6:30pm.

"Dinner is ready." He exclaims with a smile. I look down at my phone and scroll through the notifications that are on my lock screen. I have a couple texts from Ashley. 1 from Glen. 1 from Kyla and 1 from John.

"Give me a couple minutes and I'll be down. Thank you." I tell him before opening my phone to the text from Glen first.

'I have some exciting news for you.' Well, why didn't he just tell me? Why all the suspense? He is such an ass. I reply with 'What's the news?' then move onto John's text.

'I have five people that have sent over their resumes already. I am waiting on three more then I will e-mail them to you so we can eliminate at least half. I just wanted to keep you in the loop. Also, I made sure there will be a new bodyguard there to pick you up in the morning with the car service.'

'Thank you. I appreciate everything you are doing for me.' That is my reply to John. I click on Kyla's message next.

'Your girlfriend is in dire need of help. Please call her or text her, something. She is driving me up the wall. I swear she acts like she has never lived without you before. She's a lovesick puppy.' I giggle at Kyla's message. I could only imagine how Ashley is being. I feel the same exact way.

'I will send her a text now. I just woke up again. Can you send me the link for her interview if you can get a hold of it? Even if it's after the show is over. I'd still like to watch it as soon as I can.'

'I tried to call, but I take it you are sleeping. I will let you sleep. Call me when you wake up. I love you.' Ashley's first message.

'I'm about to head to hair and make-up for this tv interview so if I don't answer that is why. Talk after my interview is over. I love you." That message was sent 20 minutes ago. She would still be getting ready for her interview. The interview is supposed to start at three local time. Here that would be about 10. A little over 3 hours before she must be on tv. I hope I can talk to her before then.

'I love you too baby. Dad woke me up for dinner. Call me when your interview is over.' I quickly type out and send the message. I get up from the bed and walk into the bathroom to freshen up before going down for dinner. I make my way downstairs feeling like I have already made my parents wait long enough for me. I walk into the dining room and slide into the chair that has been mine for years now. I should get them a new table one of these days. I swear they never want to replace anything because they say it still works and looks nice. I think my parents was forced to let all of us go as we grew up that they don't want to let things go that they don't really have too.

"Finally!" My mother exclaims jokingly. I smile at her. My mom says grace then we start passing the bowls of food around the table. Dad made spaghetti. One of my favorites.

"I read somewhere you like to hit women." My dad says. I choke on my food. I wasn't expecting that. He is trying to hide his amusement. Oh, great. Here we go.

"Oh, you know me. Miss woman beater." I give him a sarcastic smile.

"Are you okay? I mean really. I know we have talked about some of the things being said, but I feel like it was always rushed. You are always so busy. I want to know you are alright." My dad admits caringly.

"I am as okay as I can be with everything. Ashley helps a lot. I do the best I can to not let it get to me. Ashley is having a harder time with things lately. She always seems so strong, and she fails to realize I pay too much attention to let her get away with telling me she is fine."

"How's she doing now? How are the two of you doing as a couple? Are you handling everything okay?" My dad continues to question me.

"She's doing better. We have talked about a lot of things. She cried which through me off some. She isn't too big on showing so many emotions that it's an excessively big deal when she is crying. For the most part the rumors seem to fuel us and bring us closer together. We are learning things quickly and how to adapt to each other with everything going on around us all the time. We do what we can to make time just for us and away from everything and everyone else. I'm handling it. Ashley and I are handling it together and how we are handling it seems to be working for us. Ashley is incredibly wise, especially about this industry. I'm lucky to have her." I explain to my parents. My mother is wearing a soft smile and my dad is beaming at me with so much pride. I turn my eyes down to my plate and start eating again. We sit in silence for a few minutes before my phone goes off in my pocket, indicating I have received a text message. I pull out my phone and sigh when it's a message from Kyla. I was hoping Ashley found a second or two.

'Ashley is finishing make-up then she is going to give you a call if everything goes as plan before she has to go start getting hooked up with audio. She says she loves you.' I smile at the message. I can never get enough of my girlfriend. She is so amazing and attentive. There is a link at the bottom of the text. Yay! I'm so happy Kyla was able to get me the link.

"Just because you are a big Rockstar now doesn't mean you can have your cellphone at the table." My mother says with a smile.

'Thank you so much for getting the link for me. Tell her I love her too and I'll be waiting for the call.' I quickly type out then put my phone back into my pocket. I look up and my eyes connect with my mother's soft blue ones.

"Sorry." I mumble before placing more food into my mouth. I want to finish as quickly as I can, so I have a chance to speak with Ashley before her interview.

The show just started 15 minutes ago. Ashley called me for a couple minutes before she had to go back to wardrobe. There was a new nervous make-up assistant that spilled coffee all over the front of Ashely causing her to have to take a quick shower and start her process all over again. She sent me a couple small texts after the quick phone call, just telling me how things were going or keeping our light conversation going. I love that she made time for the small replies.

"After our break we will be bringing out our special guest of the day. Stay tuned." The video cut too commercial. I swipe the video from my screen and go to my text messages. I clicked on Ashley's name.

'I hope you have a good interview. I love you baby. Talk soon.'

'I love you too.' Was the reply that followed almost a minute later. I swiped back into the video of the talk show.

"Welcome back. I would like to present you with Ashley Davies singing her latest single. 'Something Sexy'.

The screen cut to a stage. Ashley is walking over to the mic. She doesn't have a guitar for once. Her band is already in place. The crowd is cheering loudly.

"Good afternoon everyone. I hope you like my new single." Ashley says with a huge smile on her face. "Princess, I hope you enjoy this new song." Ashley winks into the camera causing the audience to go crazy. God, they love her. She's sexy as hell too. Her winking gets me every single damn time. Her band starts the beat and Ashley gets herself comfortable on the stool, adjusting her mic stand.

"Turn the lights down low, and let your senses flow

Tap into imagination

Let the good times roll

Baby you, (baby you)

Got me feeling good tonight

You got me craving paradise" Ashley pulls the mic from the stand but stays sat on the stool.

"Whatever you want, all that you dream

Baby, let me hear you scream

My name

I just wanna make you cum

My way

Baby you ain't gotta rush the next day (no)

Cause if you're ready we can go round two

That morning glow all afternoon

So pull the blinds down low

And let your senses flow

Tap into your memory

Honey, lay it all on me cause

Baby you, you got me feeling good alright

You got me craving paradise (yeah, yeah)

Whatever you want, all that you dream

Baby, let me hear you scream" She carries the word scream out. I want to know when she wrote this song. She is sneaky.

"Okay, remember when you leave

You can always roll with me

Leave a key under the mat, baby

You know just where it's at

I'll have the lights down low

And let your senses flow

Slip out of that red dress

Now I really really really must confess that

Baby you, you got me feeling good alright

Baby you, you know just what I like

Whatever you want, all that you dream

Baby, let me hear you, let me hear you" Ashley got up from her stool and started making her way toward the audience as she continues singing.

"You got me feeling good tonight

We could go all day and night

Whatever you want, all that you dream

Baby, let me hear you scream (no)

Let me hear you scream

Whatever you want, all that you dream

Baby, let me hear you scream" Ashley finishes the song with so much passion in her voice standing in the middle of the crowd. The audience is going crazy, but they have not ambushed her. They give her and the camera man space. She tells the crowd thank you and begins shaking hands making her way back to the stage.

"We will be back in a few moments with more from the lovely Ashley Davies." The host says. We have spent so much time together; I don't know when she could've even had time to write that without me hearing it. I loved it though.

"New song? I don't think I have heard that one." My mom asks causing me to jump. I didn't know she was there. She scared me.

"Yeah." I respond never taking my eyes away from my phone. "I love it." I add smiling up at her.

"Welcome back. We have Ashley Davies here." The audience cheers cutting the host off. "She rocked that performance, right?" The woman smiles at my girlfriend as they scream once again. Ashley smiles.

"I love you, Ashley." I hear being yelled from a few different voices. Ashley giggles looking out over the audience.

"I love you too." Ashley says amusingly.

"Marry me?" Ashley laughs once again and brings her mic back up to her mouth.

"I don't think Spence would like that, but thanks for the offer." Ashley giggles once again and turns back to the woman sitting in the armchair next to her.

"Speaking of Spencer, she was supposed to be here tonight." The host says then waits for Ashley too fill in. She knew why I wasn't there. She is just fishing. Ashley hates when people do that to her.

"Yeah, she was. The label had other things in mind, so she is in L.A right now. She hates that she can't be here. She sends her love." Ashley tells everyone looking around. I hear screams and someone yell 'I love Spencer'. "Yeah, me too." Ashley says agreeing with the person. She has a huge nose crinkling smile on her face. That smile is my biggest weakness when it comes to her.

"That was a new song?"

"Yes, I finished writing it about a week ago. I need to find time to record it in the studio. I will try to get it out as soon as I can. I'm so busy right now. Maybe I can find time in the next couple of weeks." Ashley fills them in. She is always trying to please everyone.

"I think we all know who the song is about." The host says with a smirk. Ashley lightly blushes and the audience sends out awes.

"Spencer holds a lot of my inspiration lately. She fuels my creativity."

"Would you like to touch on any of the rumors about the two of you?" The announcer is poking around again. I see Ashley almost roll her eyes.

"Not really, that's just what they are, are rumors. I don't want to give them more life by talking about them. I will say though that Spencer and I are happy together. I love that woman very much and vice versa. I would do anything for her, and I know she would do the same back. We are enjoying our lives and our relationship. Yes, the rumors get to us, but it only makes us stronger together and all I have to say is thank you for that." Ashley rants out before smiling over at the blonde woman in the next chair.

"Well said, Ashley. How's the tour going?"

"It's good. I enjoy touring and performing. It's a big part of my life and I love meeting and seeing all my fans."

"We have a video interview of Spencer. It is one of her first interviews she had ever done. She was just a couple months into signing her contract with the label. She was asked about her thoughts on you. Have you seen it?" Ashley shakes her head and replies with a 'no'. Oh god. Not this video. I forgot about it. I groan. The woman points to the screen to their left and Ashley turns to look at it. I pop up on the screen. I didn't realize how much I have changed in two years. I look so little.

"Aww, look at her. She's so small and cute." Ashley gushes out. I groan once again and cover my face like she can see me. "Don't be embarrassed or shy Spence." Ashley adds once again winking at the camera. Ugh, I don't think I like that she knows me so well. I hear my parents giggling on the other couch.

"It's not funny." I mumble to them causing them to fully laugh at me this time, but they don't ruin the moment with a response.

"Spencer you recently signed on with one of the biggest labels in the world and they have some of the biggest names signed to their label, including Ashley Davies. What are your thoughts on Ms. Davies?"

"Uh, um, well…" I hear myself fumbling over my words. I remember how hard it was to think straight when they first brought Ashley up. I may have been in the closet, but still very gay and anyone with eyes would be attracted to her.

"Aww." I hear Ashely again. I continue watching myself fumble over my words. Those interviewers were horrible. They let me struggle for a few minutes before even saying anything at all. I hated that interview. A top 5 hated interview for me.

"Have you met her? Are you starstruck by her?"

"I haven't… Um, met her I mean. She is incredibly talented, and I think it would be great to meet her one day. Maybe even collaborate on a song. She has an amazing voice and is a great performer. We were at the same event last month. I was able to catch her set but didn't have the chance to meet her." The me on the screen finally finds her wording. I smile at the younger me. My face is so red from a blush. I don't understand how no one realized I was gay back then.

"You have never seen that interview?"

"No." Ashley answers with a smile.

"Any thoughts on it?"

"She was cute. She still stumbles over her words like that when she gets thrown off guard or is nervous. I still make her stumble like that." Ashley admits with a laugh.

"Hey!" I shout like she can hear me. My parents laugh and both agree with what Ashley just said.

"Spencer was in a relationship shortly before you two started dating, correct?" Ashley nods her head and looks skeptical at the woman.

"Yes." Follows Ashley's nod.

"Has she always liked women or are you the first? Did you ever meet her ex?"

"I met her ex once, very briefly and Spencer's past is for Spencer to discuss. It's not my place to say anything about her ex or Spencer's past. Those questions would have to wait for Spencer to answer. I'm sorry." Ashley declares. And who says you don't fall more in love everyday even when your thousands of miles away from each other.

"We will be right back with more from Ashley Davies." The screen cuts to another commercial.

"You got yourself a keeper there Spence." My dad says getting up from the couch. He leans down and kisses my forehead. "It's time for bed for me. I have an early meeting. Goodnight, I love you."

"I love you too dad."

"Your dad is right. She is a keeper. You want a partner that will stand up for you like that plus being there day in and day out. I don't think you could have found or chosen a better person to be with. I'm also going to bed. I need to be at the hospital by five am. I'm glad you are here, Spence. It's good to see you. I love you."

"Thank you, ma. I love you too. I don't have anything until tomorrow afternoon, but I won't be back until late tomorrow night. I have a late-night show appearance. I am going to go lay back down soon. Maybe talk to Ashley a little bit before her next appearance." I say before either of them walks out of the room.

"Alright. Goodnight Spence and make sure you get some more sleep. I know it's hard to be away from Ashley, but you guys do need to sleep. Barely any sleep isn't good for your health." My mom says.

"I know ma." I say and turn my attention back to my phone in time to see the show returning.

"Welcome back. Ashley your contract with your label is coming to an end soon. Are you going to re-sign?"

"I will let everyone know when I figure it out. I am focused on the tour right now."

"Fair enough. You and Spencer will be performing together at the MTV music awards. Are you excited for that? It's on the 19th of August. It's coming up quickly. Are you guys doing a new song or one of the ones we have already heard?"

"I am excited. I love performing with Spence. It's always a blast. I feed off the energy and charisma she has on stage. You will just have to tune in and find out what we have planned."

"That is all the time we have with Ashley today; she is a busy woman. Ms. Davies is here for 5 concerts in Australia with Spencer Carlin. If you haven't gotten tickets yet you should. I've caught a show in Europe a couple weeks ago and these ladies are amazing. You won't be disappointed. Thank you for coming Ashley. Hopefully, Spencer can come soon."

"Thank you." Ashley says to the woman and shakes her hand. The camera follows Ashely walking backstage and waving at the audience that is still cheering for her. The camera cuts back to the host and I swipe the video out and lock my phone. Now I'm going to my bed and wait for my wonderful girlfriend to call.

I have been laying on my bed for 30 minutes before my phone starts ringing, telling me I have a video call. I quickly pick up my phone to see Ashley's picture on it. I hit accept and wait for the video to load up. I grab my wireless earbuds from the nightstand and place them into my ears. I want to be quiet. I don't want to keep my parents up or wake them.

"Hey baby." I say once I see her laying down on a bed with the phone to her face. Ashley immediately smiles at me and the same huge smile quickly fills my face.

"Hey Princess. How has your night been? What time is it there? Do you only have that late-night show to do tomorrow?" Ashley questions.

"It's been relaxing. I ate dinner, watched tv with my parents. They listened to most of your interview while I watched from my phone, and then they went to bed after telling me how much they love you. It's…" I glance at the clock on the table. "11:40 here. That is the only thing I need to do tomorrow. I need to be there by 4. You will still be sleeping, hopefully. It'll be like 9 in the morning there. Do you have anything tomorrow?"

"I don't have anything for the next three days. I'm just going to stay in this hotel room. I'm going to sleep, watch tv, eat some hopefully delicious food, and of course text and call you so much that I annoy you."

"I don't think you could ever annoy me baby. Call and text all you want. I have one thing every day this week. At least after today you will have a few days off to relax. You need that. I know you are extremely tired." I speak.

Ashley and I talked for 2 hours before we got off the phone. She had to start getting ready for her next interview. I told her to have Kyla send me the link and I will watch it when I wake up. I fell asleep I think faster than I ever have before.

I groan when I hear my alarm going off. It can't be noon already, can it? Ugh. I think I slept too long. I slept for almost 11 hours and I'm still tired. I need some coffee. I grab my phone off the charger and roll out of bed. I brush my teeth and do my morning routine then go into the kitchen. I see a note next to the coffee maker.

Spence,

Your creamer is in the fridge, I made sure we had some for you. Also, the coffee maker is all prepared. You just need to turn it on. I left some of your favorite breakfast foods in the fridge too. I hope your interview is good.

I love you,

Dad

Aww. I will always love that man. He always makes sure I have everything I need. I reach over and turn the coffee maker on before looking through the fridge. I grab some fruit and yogurt then sit down waiting for the coffee to get done. I pull my phone out of my pocket and check it. Ashley texted me goodnight before she went to bed. Kyla sent me the link to the interview. Glen told me he will meet me at my sound check for the show at 4.

My afternoon went quickly and before I knew it, I was headed to my sound check. After sound check I have about 2 hours before I must start getting ready. I have a hair and make-up girl that I have used on and off while in L.A for a couple years now meeting me there at 6:30. Right now, I am dressed in a pair of tight-fitting blue jeans black flats and a black open front sweater with a black tight-fitting t-shirt on under it. I wanted to be comfortable, but cute. I have no make-up on since I have someone else doing that later. I do have huge sunglasses covering my eyes.

'I love and miss you. Text me when you wake up. I'm on my way to my soundcheck.' The text I send to my girlfriend then get out of the back of the town car when it pulls up to the studio.

"Hey Spence. How are you?" My brother says walking up to me with his phone in his face.

"I'm alright. How are you? How's everything going? You never told me the good news." I respond as we make our way into the building.

"I'm good. Everything is going well. Here." He says handing me a sheet of paper.

"What's this?" I turn it over and look at it. "My schedule? I don't understand why you can't put everything on my calendar in my e-mail at least then I could keep track of everything better, plus that calendar is linked to my phone one so they all notify me." I rant to him.

"I will, I promise. It was easier to do that today. I was running late. I had a date last night, it went well. Our second date is already tonight. Sorry. I will add everything by end of day, I promise." Glen rants back.

"Sounds good, but thanks for at least this now. I needed more information on tomorrow's interview, I forgot half of it. Thank you. I hope your next date is as good as your first. You deserve to find someone Glen. I want all the best for you bro. So, was that the good news?"

"U… Um…" Glen clears his throat and rubs the back of his neck. "Yeah. Look, they are ready for you." He adds then pushes me towards the mic. We are going to be playing 'I hope' tonight. I get hooked up then wait for my band to start playing. There is no sound coming through my earpieces. I look behind me at my band and signal for them to stop playing.

"I can't hear anything." I yell to the 2 guys and woman standing next to my brother.

They spent over two hours trying to figure the technical stuff out. They would fix my earpiece then suddenly something else wouldn't work right. Glen finally started yelling at everyone that works there right before I left to go get my hair and make-up done. It is almost 7. I need to be ready by 9. I hope I have enough time to do everything. I didn't even get a break. I let out a large sigh as I'm escorted down the hallways and into a dressing room. I walk in and smile at Sara. She is the cosmetologist.

"Hey. It has been a while." I say walking over to her and sitting in the chair.

"I seen you have been busy falling in love." She mocks lightly. I blush and a smile fills my face.

"I have been. Ashley is amazing and shes just… well, Ashley." I giggle and lightly shrug at my choice of words. "How have you been?" I start up a light conversation as she starts doing my make-up. After almost an hour Dan comes walking in. I didn't realize he was bringing me my wardrobe for this. I glance through the mirror at him as he pulls outfits out and lays them down over the back of the couch so I could choose from them.

"I will do your hair after you change into your outfit." Sara says putting the finishing touches on my face. The slightly taller brunette with straight short hair smiles after admiring her handy work. "Looks good. Be careful with pulling your shirt over your face. I can always do touch-ups. I'm here for the rest of the night with you."

"Thank you, Sara. I look great as always when you oversee my face." I exclaim.

"Hey Dan." I say turning around to face him.

"Hey Spence, how have you been? How's Rockstar doing?" Dan asked giddily.

"I've been great. Ashley is doing good. We have just been really busy." I answer him.

"I'm glad. There are five outfits here for you to choose from. All of them are jeans, but the last one is black leggings. I have three tailored shirts. It seems to be a good look for you. There is a black one, a light pink one, and a sky blue. I have a white undershirt for all of them. It was the only color that went well. I have a plain tight t-shirt and this one. I just had to bring it." Dan giggled at himself and moved towards the couch to pick up a black t-shirt. I wait for him to show me the shirt and I laugh. It's an Ashley Davies concert t-shirt.

"Wow." I say trying to suppress my giggles.

"It's from her very first U.S Tour. I thought you might like it." Dan explains. I smile and grab the shirt from him.

"Can I keep this even if I don't wear it tonight?" I ask holding it up to me. The taller skinny man nods his head.

"Of course."

"I think I am going to go with these white strappy heels. The black leggings and the sky-blue tailored shirt. Leave it open to show the white under shirt to match the heels perfectly." I disclose and grab the clothes. I walk into the bathroom and quickly change. Once I'm dressed, I take a minute to look at my phone. It's almost 8 here which means it is almost 1 in Sydney. Ashley still hasn't texted me. She must still be sleeping.

'It's 7:48pm. I perform in an hour and 12 minutes. I'm opening the show with my performance. I need to get my hair done so I will text you if I have time in-between. Might have to do a quick sound check. Things weren't working earlier. I love you.' I click send after I re-read the message to make sure everything looks good. I sigh. I keep my phone in my hand as I grab the clothes I had on earlier and walk out the bathroom. I feel my phone vibrate. I place my clothes down and look at it. It's my girlfriend. I smile at my phone as I open the message.

'I hope everything goes well and they fix everything for you. I love you too. Knock them dead baby.' Hm… That's it? Maybe her reply is so short because she hasn't fully woken up yet. I'll give her some time to wake up.

'I'll call you after this is over.' That is my only reply. I didn't know what else to say to her nonchalant message. I walk over to the chair I was sitting in before and Sara starts to fix my hair.

'I want to see a pic. I need a new one anyways.' Ashley sent another message. She must be waking up. I open my camera app and take a picture of myself in the mirror with Sara standing behind me. She looks like she is concentrating so hard. I send the picture to Ashley.

'I'll send you a full body one after I am finished.'

'Always the sexiest woman I will ever lay eyes on. Even in a photo.'

'I can argue the same about you all day.' I smirk at my phone as I click send.

'I will let you get back to getting ready but know one thing. If I were there those clothes wouldn't be on you passed the second, we had a moment behind a closed door. I'd worship your body in ways it has never been.'

'Why must you do this to me?' I add a sad face at the end and send it to her. She is going to kill me.

'The things my tongue would do in-between your legs would guarantee that everyone in that building would hear what we were doing.'

'I'm silencing my phone before you drive me completely crazy and make me really wish you were here. I love you.' I don't even wait for a reply. I silence my phone and toss it up on the desk. If I keep it in my hand, I will continue to text Ashley back even through her teasing.

I take a deep breath and follow Glen and the stage manager to the stage. We did a quick sound check about 30 minutes ago and everything seemed to work. I hope it stays that way. I don't want something to go wrong. I know it wouldn't be my fault, but still don't want it to happen. I am at the side of the stage. Glen is talking to me about something, but I have no idea because I'm not listening. I'm in my own head trying to relax. I have a guy walking around me trying to find places to hook equipment onto me.

"5 minutes." Comes from the stage manager. I nod my head at him and lift my arm for the guy still making circles around me.

"Hey…" Glen gets my attention by nudging me. I look at him. "You'll do great baby sis like always. Knock them dead."

"I know I have done these things hundreds of times already, but it feels weird without Ashley being here. I got used to her being with me."

"It's live so she may not be here physically, but she is watching. I made sure she got the link. That must count for something, right?" Glen has been amazing lately. He has been insightful and caring, more so than I have ever seen him be and do in his life. He has really changed since our talk about him doing his job better. Glen has taken it seriously and I love this new side of him.

"Right. Thank you for being a great big brother and amazing manager. Know it hasn't gone unnoticed because I'm so busy. I love you." I tell him and hug him. Glen pulls out of the hug with a huge smile on his face.

"It's time baby sis." Glen says then once again pushes me forward.

"Here to perform her latest single 'I hope'. SPENCER CARLIN!" The announcer screams out my name and the audience cheers, mostly screams. I walk onto the stage and my band instantly starts playing.

(Ashley's POV)

"And baby I

I hope you work it out

Forgive and just about forget

And take her on a first date again

And when you lean in for a kiss" I pop my head out from behind the curtain and look at my girlfriend. Surprise! Surprise! I'm here. Of course, I am. I have a few days off there is nowhere else I'd rather be.

"AHHHHHHHH!" I pull my eyes away from my girlfriend and look at the audience. They spotted me. I duck back behind the curtain and peek out. Spencer didn't see anything when she looked behind her questionably. She turns back around to the audience. Never missing a word after they screamed in the middle of her song.

"I hope it goes, comes all the way around

I hope she makes you feel the same way

About her that I feel about you right now" I pop my head back out causing the crowd to scream once again. This time when Spencer turns around, I walk out of the curtain. Surprise fills my girlfriends face then smiling from ear to ear. I give her a nose crinkling smile back. I raise my hands making the crown go crazy as Spencer finishes out her song. Once my better half stops singing, she places the mic into the stand. Spencer runs over to me and literally jumps into my arms. Legs wrapping around my waist. Her lips quickly meet mine in a passionate kiss.

"Surprise baby." I say as our foreheads rest together. The crowd is still screaming with excitement. I place Spencer down and turn her towards the audience. I walk us over to the mic. "SPENCER CARLIN!" I scream out and cheer right along with them. I hear someone say something about going to a commercial. Spencer throws herself into my arms once more.

I hear someone clear their throat. We turn to the left of me, right of Spencer.

"Come have a seat ladies. Ashley even though you are here, most of this interview will be about Spencer and…"

"I can easily wait in the dressing room. I wanted to surprise her here." I stop talking and turn towards my girlfriend. "I hope I didn't overstep or anything by coming out during your performance." I leave it up in the air to get Spencer's response.

"Best surprise ever." Spencer says with a cheeky smile. "I don't want to be away from you yet. I just got you back." Spencer whispers lightly next to my ear then pulls me to go have a seat on the loveseat that is for the guests.
