Only one review, but that is not why I do this. I love writing about Spyro and the family that I made up, as well as relearning the English language, so here is the next chapter

Thank you DiabloPProcento, who gave me that review.

Chapter 29...Family is the Best Medicine

In the warm kitchen of Candy Land, the smells of sweetness fills the air. A giant kettle, that holds over one hundred gallons, begins bubbling with another round of pure chocolate bliss.

"I do love my job now a days." the large black bear remarks with a smile. He uses a small spoon to take a taste off the top, and his smile only gets wider. However, that grin goes away as he looks at the young dragoness who has made this large container of the sweet tasting concoction.

"Are you OK, Gale?"

The much smaller dragon looks up to her co-worker, her eyes telling the tale of how she is not feeling fine. In fact, the moment Gale looks up at him she is forced to run for the restroom. The sounds of her throwing up takes the large bear's smile away, and he quickly enters the room with her, helping the young lady stay on her paws.

"JAKKO...GET IN HERE." Dominick barks, softly rubbing Gale's neck and shoulders as the young girl continues to release the pain in her stomach.

"Oh my goodness..." the one winged parrot remarks with concern. "...are you alright, young lady?"

Dominick is shocked as the former pirate seems not to care about his kitchen, and the chocolate that is not being watched, which could amount to hundreds of gold pieces going to waste. Instead, he truly is anxious for the way this young dragon that he works with feels.

Gale looks over at him, several tears now falling from her eyes, and not just because she is feeling sick. The young lady is mostly upset that she may be letting her partner down.

"I'm sorry, Jakko." she says, knowing the chocolate she was making is probably ruined, seeing the pot begin boiling over.

The parrot uses his real hand to pet Gale softly across the nose, as his steel paw is placed under her chin where Dominick was helping her stay up. The large bear then leaves the room, heading over to the giant kettle, using his strength to lift the massive pot off the heat. She finally smiles for the first time as her large co-worker pours all of the chocolate into their proper containers, making sure it does not go to waste.

"You have no reason to ever fell sorry, Young Lady." the black bird replies, gently pulling her face to face. The former pirate shows a side of himself that Gale never sees as he looks like he is also ready to tear up. Once again the dragoness is stunned as Jakko pecks her on the cheek

"You are my friend...not my employee."

The one winged parrot waits for Dominick to do his first job, clearing the giant container of chocolate. He then gives him his next job, the most important one of the day.

"Dominick..." he begins, returning his eyes to the dragoness he holds gently, softly tapping her nose with his real wing. "...can you take Gale home for me."

The young dragon suddenly shows a sad face again, and she takes a deep breath to speak. However, before she can get a word out of her mouth, Jakko uses his wing to cover stop her.

"There are no Clawball games today, so I can take care of this place myself, for a few hours." He returns his eyes to the large bear, who has finished pouring the giant kettle filled with cocoa. However, his anger returns to normal, unable to see the large bear's face.

"WOULD YOU GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE POT ALREADY!"

Again Gale gives a smile as the fun loving bear see works with pulls his chocolate covered face from the kettle.

"What?" Dominick replies, using his paw to clear off the excess, then putting that paw in his mouth.

"I filled all the containers..." the large bear pauses speaking, using his tongue to catch another drop of chocolate that falls from his nose. "...so I need to clean out the pot."

"We have tools to do that, Stupid!" Jakko barks, pointing his wing at a large ladle that is designed to scrap the side of that large pot.

Dominick looks at the tool he has seen Gale use to clear the pot, then looks pack at his old friend.

"Well, then I would have too wash and sterilize both the pot and the scoop after licking them." the large bear grins as he puts his paw down in the pot one more time.

"And he calls me Stupid."

Jakko shakes his head, then looks at Gale with pure amazement in his eye. However, the anger he wants to show is taken by the wide smile and sounds of soft laughter from his sick little friend.

"OK then, Fatso. Can you at least finish make a pig of yourself later..." Jakko's new names for the large bear gets his head to pop out of the chocolate kettle again. "...and take Gale home for me."

Still with a grin on her face the young dragoness goes to talk, but once again Jakko places his working hand over her mouth.

"No, you are not walking home alone." he says, as his fear is not for her, having issues making it down the road a few blocks. However, the one winged parrot is truly fearful of what would happen to him, if he were to send Gale home without someone to make sure she was fine.

"Your mother would beat me senseless, if I sent her sick daughter home alone. Especially after you threw up like that." Jakko shows even more fear in his eyes, as he knows what would happen next. "Then your father would incinerate what's left of my broken body, after I got out of the infirmary."

Though he cannot see her grin, Jakko can tell Gale is smiling under his wing as she nods her head up and down. However, the smirk is seen clearly on Dominick's face, as he walks back over to his co-workers.

"Who are you kidding..." the large bear remarks, with a very sarcastic yet truthful tone. He then gets down on all fours, scooping Gale up and placing her on his back. "...Spyro wouldn't even wait for you to get out of the infirmary, before turning your broker body into roasted black parrot."

Once again, even feeling as sick as she does, Gale cannot take the smile off her face, knowing full well her mother and father would never do that. They have become best friends with the old bird who has taken their daughter under his lone wing, teaching her one of the most important lessons in life.

That lesson is not how to make the best candy...but how to be an important member of the community. A lesson she has seen on countless occasion from her mom and dad.

Dominick gets down on all four, and with a gentle paw scoops the young dragoness up, placing her on his back. He curves his head around with laughter as Gale tickles his shoulder with her claws before finding a place to law down.

"After your done bringing her home, ask Palmer if he can come in today. I will give him an extra piece of gold per hour." Jakko requests, and Dominick nods his head. The old pirate then looks up at Gale with a grin.

"And I will make sure that Volteer or Cyril get you portion at the end of the day."

The young dragon shows a smile, ever though her stomach is giving her pain.

"Thank you Jakko..." she says, standing up once again, then gliding off the soft black fur of Dominick's back. She lands beside her partner and gives him the most gentle peck to his cheek. "...you are the best boss in the hole world."

The one winged bird can hardly stay upright as Gale leaps back up on Dominick. She does not see the pure joy that comment brought to the former pirate, but the large bear notices and gives him the most sarcastic grin he can.

"You are getting soft with age, Jakko." he says, walking out of the kitchen before his friend can respond. However, even the former evil pirate knows this is the truth, and he shows a smile as he has never felt better.

"Da...ddy..." the purple dragon says softly to Blazer, then looks to his right where the young dragon's identical twin brother stands, staring at his father. "...say Da...ddy."

The whelplings look at each other, wondering why there father keeps repeating the same word over and over and over. A funny grin on his face as the purple dragon tries his hardest to get the boys to get there first word out.

"Daaa...Deee." Spyro asks slower and softer, a big smug grin on his face seeing his wife enter the room, noticing her husband is trying to get Ignitus and Blazer to repeat it. However, both boys are stunned as the black dragon's tail raps around daddy's face, and he is pulled out of the way for mommy

"No no no... " Cynder says walking beside her now muzzled husband, pushing him out of the way.

"Mo...mmy..." she says with a happy tone and a wide grin, keeping her husband from pulling his head away from her tail. "...say Maa..maaa."

The purple dragon cannot help be laugh as both he and his wife have been doing the same thing for nearly a month now. They try to get the boys to begin speaking, but also have a running bet of who they will call for first.

"You two are bigger children then they are." A voice comes from the stairs to the third floor of this multi-family home.

"Morning Pearl..." Spyro replies, smiling at his wife's sister as she comes to gather the boys, so both he and Cynder can go to their jobs. However, the white scaled and red chested dragoness shows no smile back, making the great hero test the waters of his sister-in-law's attitude

"...how are you doing today."

The slightly older dragon gives her brother-in-law a smug grin, then looks down the stairs towards her home.

"Where do I start..." she grunts, and bother Spyro and Cynder can tell this is not going to b good.

"...My lazy hump of a father is still sleeping, and will probably remain that way until mid-day. Onyx tried to bite a whole Blazer pop in half, and broke both of his upper bicuspids." With every word she spits out, Pearl's voice gets louder, stronger and both Cynder and Spyro notice this. But she is not done yet, so her words only get rougher and angrier.

"Terrador then gets called into work today, even though he is supposed to have the week off, so he can't watch Amethyst and the boys with me, while you guys are at work." Pearl pauses, her eyes turning a slight reddish color to show the anger within.

"And to top it all off...IT IS MY TIME OF THE MONTH."

The purple dragon looks at his wife, who just got over her's. His eyes showing the same fear as the day they fought Malefor.

"Well, aaaah..." the black dragoness feels a hard gust of wind as her husband uses his super speed to run out of the room and down the stairs.

"...I got to go!"

"YOU COWARD!" Cynder barks, but Spyro is already halfway across the road, entering the palace. She then looks at her sister who cannot help showing a wide grin.

"Your husband is not just a coward..." Pearl reaching down to grab Ignitus, showing she has no issues at all. In fact, Cynder's older sister begins laughing as she rubs her nose on the tiny purple and black dragon. "...but he is very gullible."

The black dragoness looks at her sister with a blank expression for a second, then begins laughing as hard as Pearl. Once again, both boys stare at each other not knowing what is going on. However, they understand this is funny as mom grasps Ignitus and aunt Pearl scoops up Blazer, hugging and kissing them as they bring both boys down stairs.

"So, when is Jacob gonna get hear?" asks the older sister, and Cynder uses her empty paw to give Blazer a gentle scratch under his jaw.

"He's taking Scorch and Wattney out for a morning flight..."

Suddenly a knock at the door gets both boy to turn and look, wondering who they may have a chance to lick. However, Cynder already knows who it is as the blind dragon's voice can be heard barking at his children.

"...and speak of the devil."

"You two are gonna drive me nuts until I say yes." Cynder hears as she opens the door to her home, and quickly see is greeted by her boss and the two young dragons still with him. But before the black dragoness can say her hellos, Wattney and Scorch leap up from the ground and surround her with hugs.

"Hi Blazer..." they say in unison, attacking him with love and kisses before the whelpling ever has his chance to do the same. They then make their way to Ignitus, who tries to hide behind his aunt, but never had a chance to get away from this happy brother and sister pair.

"...Hi Ignitus."

The whelpling twins look at their mother wondering what the hell just happened, but having seen this expression from everyone the boys say hello to, Cynder just smiles at them. The black dragoness then looks over at her partner in fruit and berry picking, confused to the fact he brought his kids to her house before work. However, Cynder's very sarcastic sister gives her thoughts before the black dragon can say a word.

"If Jacob thinks I am watching his children too..." the white dragoness grabs Blazer from her sister's shoulder and walks towards the kitchen of her home. "...he has a better chance of seeing to the Ancestors dance a jig on Main Street!"

The blind dragon turns to his partner in picking, a very confused, yet smug grin on his face.

"Is your sister feeling OK."

With the same grin on her face, Cynder simply shakes her head no and walk out of the house. However, the black dragoness does turn to his kids.

"She is having a day...but I to am wondering why Scorch and Wattney are with you?"

"We were hopping you would let us come, and help you and dad pick truffles, Ms. Cynder." both children say at the same time, though they become quiet as the blind dragon grunts and smacks his paw down on the ground.

"I told you kids NO. Picking them is hard and messy." Jacob says, turning his eyes to focus on the children, but then he smiles and turns to the black dragoness. "However, if Cynder says it's OK, you guys can come and watch how we do it."

The blind, two tone blue, dragon once again turns his non-working eyes to the kids. Unlike the many he cares for in the orphanage, these children he has come to love as his own.

Because they are.

Scorch and Wattney immediately turn there smiles to the black dragon, using their best talents on Cynder, who has little chance of saying no now. And even if she could, the children take that option away with the same sweet voice her daughter can give when in need.

"Pleeeeese."

Jacob can hear his co-worker melt and already knows the answer before Cynder gives it. But he smiles even wider when the black dragon gives an even better reason for the kids to come.

"We can have them pick boysenberries off the trees near that truffle patch. This way we can have a decent snack for once."

The children show there smiles again, but Jacob looses his grin, showing Cynder anger with his useless eyes. He then holds up a sack he has on his left shoulder.

"But I already made some sandwiches for us." the blind dragon argues, but hears a snicker of laughter come from Cynder. He then hears that same smug grunts of overwhelming smiles coming from his kids. Jacob turns to Scorch and Wattney, who quickly stop there soft grunts, but Cynder cannot keep from laughter uncontrollably.

"Really!?"

The black dragon can do nothing to stop her chuckling. In fact, she laughs so hard after being called out, that Cynder even grunts and laughs harder. The children also return to a joyful tone, but a hard stare from their father takes that away.

"I guess you two want to go back home!" Jacob says, but his son fires back with an even better sarcastic remark, one that makes his sister and Cynder laugh uncontrollably again.

"At least we will get a decent tasting lunch...if mom makes it."

Meanwhile, in the great palace of Warfang, the purple dragon glides up the giant staircase towards the top of this near two thousand foot tall tower. However, the Hero of Avalar is confused when he looks around and does not see the large green Earth dragon.

"Where is Terrador?" he asks, looking around the Guardian Master's room Spyro gets the same confused stair for everyone in the room, then an answer that explains why all four Guardians are looking at him oddly.

"I thought he was home?" Master Blazer replies with a questioning tone, looking at Volteer, Cyril and Cole, who have the same odd pair of eyes like the large fire breather. All of them then look at Spyro with the same confusion, and simultaneously say the same thing.

"Your home!"

Spyro's leans his head to the side, looks back toward the wall that faces his house, then returns his confused eyes to the Guardians. A very funny looking grin takes over his annoyed expression as he shakes his head several times.

"My sister-in-law things she's funny."

"Well now... If she just made you run up two thousand stairs in fifteen seconds, then I agree." The largest of the four dragons shows the same grin that the purple hero has, knowing full well that Pearl can play the roll of jerk very well.

"Your sister-in-law is funny."

"How are you feeling up there?"

Dominick turns his head around to see how his passenger is doing, however the young dragoness does not answer him. Instead, the sound of a gentle snore brings a smile to the giant bear's face.

He slows his pace down the street making sure he does not rock back and forth, allowing Gale to rest that feeling of sickness in her belly. He would feel horrible is she fell the six feet his back stands above the cobblestone pavement. But mostly, he don't want her to do what she did several times in the shop, on his soft and thick furred back.

Many of Warfang's citizens notice the great hero's daughter sleeping on his back, and they mob the large bear hoping to get a better view of the gold winged dragon of Spyro and Cynder. However, everyone that gets close, and begins speaking loudly, get a look that would kill from the near one ton black furred monster.

He makes his way down to the southern end of Warfang, not where the most popular family lives, but to a small dwelling of a now successful mother and son. Dominick taps the door, making sure not to wake his passenger, only to get a loud and happy greeting from a red dragon.

"Hi Dom..." is all Palmer gets out before a huge black paw is stuffed around hi muzzle. The large bear then removes the paw, placing a single digit over his mouth.

"Shh."

Dominick make this noise as quiet as possible, leaning his left should down, and exposing Gale's sleeping body to the young dragon.

"What happened?" Palmer asks softly, getting a smile from the large bear as the fire breath understands not to wake his passenger.

"Gale does not feel good..." he says, pausing as the young lady moves to the sound of her name. However, the large bear smiles again as his passenger just finds a new position on his back, and within a few seconds lets out a soft snore.

"...so I am taking her home." he whisper softer. Dominick's eye refocus on Palmer, but his voice remains soft and quiet.

"Jakko would like you to come to work today...if you can. He is willing to give you an extra piece of gold for every hour."

The young dragon cannot help but show a smile understanding who much he is needed and respected by the old one winged bird.

"I was surprising my mom...painting the living room her favorite color, so I need to take a bath first." he replies, showing the pink spots on his paws, as the young dragon's mother has been to busy working to do it herself.

The large bear looks inside the small home, noticing a single wall that is left half done. He reaches out a single paw, and gives the young dragon a great big hug.

"How long will it take you to finish?"

Palmer looks back, seeing the small section that needs work, as well as a few spots that he needs to touch up.

"About a half an hour should be..." he begins to say, and Dominick turns around to leave.

"Don't rush Palmer, take your time. I will be back to help Jakko in twenty minutes." he turns to look at the now confused dragon, who though he was asked to rush to work for help.

"Do a good job for you mother...she is more important then your boss."

Dominick then begins his journey to the north, where the purple dragon and his wife live across the street from the palace. His smile as wide as can be, knowing the young dragon he left behind is still going to hurry his task of painting the house. However, he also knows the job will be done correctly, cause Palmer has yet to show a lack of work ethic in any thing he has done at the candy shop.

It takes ten minutes for the large bear to make the trek that would normally take five for the swift moving, long pawed creature. Not just because he wanted to keep his body from rocking back and forth, but he had to place a paw before his muzzle many times to keep the growing crowds around him from waking the sick dragon on his back.

As Dominick heads down Main Street, making sure his passenger remains cozy and comfortable on his warm furry black back, Pearl keeps her nephews happy. The white dragoness perfectly uses a sharp knife to slice over half a dozen truffles, her eyes never leaving the boys as they play.

Pearl scoops them off her cutting board with the blade, using her other paw to slide them into a pot of gently boiling venison broth. The white dragon then grabs a sack of large carrots, immediately getting the attention of the two young dragons.

"You boys want some carrots?" she asks with a joyful questioning voice, knowing how much Blazer and Ignitus love the crunchy sound and taste of these vegetables. She smiles wide as both boys answer with a fast spin on their paws and a hard stare at the produce their aunt is now holding up.

"I'll take that as a yes." Pearl replies with a wider smile, loving when the young dark purple whelplings continuing to spin around fast and fast, there eyes focused of the prize. She then takes a sing carrot, dices it four large pieces with her claws, then swipes them off the cutting board to her well cleaned kitchen counter.

She then waves that paw for them to jump up, allowing the boys their chance to get what they want. The white and red dragoness once again smiles as Ignitus and Blazer begin attacking and crunching the fresh hard veggies. With her eyes focused only on them, Pearl uses her talents with a knife to chop nearly a dozen carrots with great speed and accuracy.

Pearl slides them into the stew pot, then grabs two heads of cabbage. Once again the dragoness, with her ability to use this sharp blade, draws and quarters both items in less then three seconds. She slides them into the stew, gives Blazer a rub under the chin as he finishes his second piece of the carrot she gave him, then reaches into the small vegetable pantry beside the stove.

Onions are next, and she laughs as both boys jump from the counter after getting a whiff of these veggies. The white dragon begins tearing up from the onions, but she laughs as both Ignitus and Blazer begin rubbing there heads against her legs, believing she is sad for some reason.

However, this smile is taken away by an unexpected knock on the door. It startles both Pearl and the boys so much that the speedy moving knife catches the white dragon's left paw. The joy of cooking, along with that feeling of love she got from Blazer and Ignitus is lost in the ten seconds it takes her to make it to the front door.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT." she barks, making both boys run and hide. It also awakens the sleeping dark purple dragoness laying on his back.

"Forgive me ma,am, I didn't mean to..." is all Dominick can say before Pearl realize the mistake she just made. Her eyes become focused on little sister's daughter, noticing the look she knows as a mother of a child that does not feel right.

"Gale? Are you OK, Sweetie?" she asks with a now worried tone in her voice, seeing the somber stair the young dragoness gives in return. However, Pearl is then shown a smile by Gale, as the sick feelings inside are taken over by love.

"My belly hurts, Aunt Pearl..." she replies, walking up the large bear's back to his shoulder. "...so Jakko told Dominick to bring me home.

"Oh my goodness..." the now upset mother of two says with a very stunned voice, tears beginning to form on both eyes, and not for her niece. "...please forgive me for feeling at you."

Dominick does nothing but smile, using his paw to remove Gale from his back, and hand her over to the white dragon. He then notices the blood coming from Pearl's left index finger, removing that smile in an instant.

"By the Ancestors...was that my fault."

Seeing the fear that takes over this large bear's eyes, and having had this same accident while cooking, Pearl does nothing more then use her right paw to grab Dominick's chin. She shows him a smile before looking at her bloody fingers.

"Don't worry about that...my paw is still there." Pearl looks at Gale, who begins a soft laugh, having seen her aunt do much worse to herself with a knife. However, she also knows it is because of a distraction from either her or her nephew Onyx. The young dragon look at her co-worker with this same grin, lowering her head with a feeling of guilt.

"I'm surprised she still has that paw."

Once again the white dragoness gives a smile, then points that sliced paw inside her home.

"Would you like something to eat, other then candy, before you go back to work..." the with dragoness suddenly shows concern in her eyes, realizing she does not know the wonderful creature's name. But before she can even ask, the large black bear already has both answers for her.

"I appreciate the offer, Ma,am...but I must return to the shop before Jakko burns the place to the ground trying to turn off the oven." his paw raps around Gale's laughing chin, holding her head up to look at his smile. He then shows that joyful expression to her aunt.

"I will take you up on that offer of good food some other day, Ms Pearl..." the large bear backs away from the door, beginning his journey back down the road to Candy Land, his voice heard softly as he leaves "...and to answer your question, my name is Dominick."

Pearl looks down at her niece, whose eyes remain locked on the large bear that trots down the road. Her smile only increasing as Dominick meets and greets a dozen of Warfang's children with candy and coupons. She then looks up at her aunt, who also has this grin, totally understanding now why Gale comes home with a smile after working all day.

"You are so very lucky, Gale." the large dragon says, scooping her niece up and carrying her inside.

"What do you mean by that, Aunt Pearl?" asks the sick young lady, not feeling lucky at all.

"You work with two of the nicest individuals I have ever meet." Pearl holds Gale before her eyes, the smile growing on her face as her sarcasm comes out.

"Three if you actually count Jakko."

Gale gives her aunt a sarcastic grin before rolling her eyes, as she has seen nothing but the best side of the former pirate. Though, she does not fire back at Pearl, like the young dragon would normally, feeling the pain in her stomach continuing to get worse.

The mother of two also sees this look of discussed on her niece's face, so without continuing her assault on her co-workers, Pearl just does what a mother wold do for her own sick child. The white dragon's paws pick Gale up, carrying her into the kitchen where she was making dinner.

"Where are Blazer and Ignitus?" the young dragon asks, actually hoping for an attack of hugs and kisses, knowing that would make her feel better.

Pearl does not worry one bit, as her eyes see the twin whelplings begin climbing out from under the kitchen counter, where they ran and hide the moment Aunt Pearl kit her paw and began yelling. She places Gale down once more bringing them out even faster, realizing it is time to attack there sister with joy. However, they notice the look of discomfort and sadness on her face.

The young dragoness has now chance to tell them how she feels, as the boys immediately surround her, almost forcing Gale to lay down on her side.

Ignitus yelps with his own sound of discomfort, laying beside big sister's chin. Blazer also finds a spot beside the dragoness they have come to love like mom and dad, rubbing his nose against Gale's belly.

Pearl almost ruins the moment, about to tell the boys not to bother the sick dragon's belly. But before she has a chance to speak, Gale places her head down around them, pulling her young brothers in tighter. And within a few seconds, all three fall asleep at her paws.

Grandpa is the next one to visualize this moment, as he gently tip-tows into the kitchen, having felt his granddaughter's pain from the other room. With his healing powers, the elder dragon simply places a soft paw upon Gale's head, taking the last of her pain away.

"Too much candy." he whisper to his daughter, bringing a smile to Pearl face, knowing Gale's pain will be gone when she wakes up later. However, that is not the only reason the thirty-something year old dragoness grins so wide.

"I remember those days."

Diamond gives his own soft chuckle, a peck to chin of his daughter, along with a sarcastic remark.

"Last week, wasn't it."

The blind dragon gets a tail to the cheek from his daughter, feeling Pearl's anger for such a comment, as well as the joy and laughter she is holding back. He then takes a deep sniff of the truffle stew he loves, giving a sad look as it is to early for him to paw a taste.

The old pure white dragon then pecks his daughter on the cheek, using his incredible powers to heal her paw. He then asks if she needs him to help, but after a sarcastic stair that he understands well, Diamond backs up gently. Me lowers down beside his second set of grandchildren, covering all three with his warm, soft left wing.

"Life does not get any better than this."

Well, there is another chapter, I hope you enjoyed it. Will there be another...of course.
