Sorry I haven't posted in the last few days! It's kinda short, but I hope you guys like the chapter!
Sophie knew that she couldn't help Keefe on her own.
She opened her mind, seeking one person, "Linh!"
It didn't take long to receive a response, "Sophie?"
"Look, I found Keefe, but he's unconscious. I need your help."
"Okay, I'll be right there!" With no questions asked, the Hydro jumped into the pond.
When she reached the end of the water, she dropped, landing on her feet, and ran towards them. She got on her knees next to Keefe, and placed her hands on his chest.
He immediately bolted up, coughing and sputtering.
Sophie tackled him with a hug, almost knocking them both over. He was initially surprised, but eventually wrapped his arms around her.
"I missed you, Sophie." he whispered softly in her ear.
She noticed that he called her by her first name.
"I missed you too." she whispered back.
When they finally stood, Sophie turned to find Linh with a goofy look on her face, not unlike what Edaline wore whenever Sophie and Keefe were around each other.
She wondered what it ment, but she pushed the thought aside, and turned back to Keefe. "What happened? What would Gisela's purpose have been for pushing you down here?" she asked.
Keefe looked hopeless as he said, "I think that the water took my abilities somehow."
Linh nodded, "I felt it, the power of the water. I was able to keep it at bay, but how did you get through?" she asked Sophie.
That's when it hit her, "It must've been the elixir Echo gave me."
"Who?" Keefe asked.
"Long story. Anyways, the elixir was supposed to allow me to use my abilities despite this thing." she said, pointing to the circlet she wore.
"So it shielded you from the water." Linh finished. Sophie nodded.
"Okay, but that doesn't explain how we're going to get my abilities back." Keefe stated.
Linh then closed her eyes, and drew water from above. She thrust out her hands, and suddenly, Keefe was surrounded by water.
The water covered him in a thin cocoon-like layer. It filled his lungs, taking his ability to breathe.
The water definitely wasn't normal, but it felt different than what had stripped him of his abilities.
It was still painful, like being stabbed by hundreds of knives, but rather than sorrow and despair, he was overwhelmed with more emotions than he thought possible.
He then realized that they weren't his own emotions, they were the feelings that everyone was experiencing, not only in that room, but above them. The anger, the pain, the pure determination of all of his friends, all of his enemies, he could feel it, even pinpoint who each emotion belonged to.
He felt powerful, like a part of himself had been restored.
Finally, Linh dropped her hands, and the water fell.
Sophie looked at him expectantly and Keefe smirked, raising his hands in a familiar gesture, "Woah, Foster! I appreciate all of the adorable concern your hittin' me with, but I'm fine!"
Sophie just rolled her eyes, but Keefe could sense her relief.
"Now let's go kick some Neverseen butt!" Keefe exclaimed.
And so, after they used their levitation to reach the water, Linh kept the water at bay.
But on the surface, pure chaos had broken out.
