Marco had just spoken with Pops, telling what Clear had said, and he was as surprised as him when he found out he was poisonous, which he was even in seastone chains. But it was good to know, in case he needed to use it. Pops also wasn't the most surprised when he found out Ace could kill him, but was when it was mentioned that there was a thing that could kill him, kill any phoenix, and wondered what that was, but Marco didn't know that, Clear hadn't said. But it must be something supernatural or magical. Maybe Lance knew something, he should ask the witch.

So when he saw the witch an hour later, he headed over and Marco looked at Lance. "Do you know anything about something that can kill a phoenix, yoi?" Lance frowned. "There isn't. Why do you think there is?" Marco frowned. "I spoke to Clear, one of the vampire lords, and he said there is, yoi." Lance blinked. "What? There is?" Marco nodded. "Apparently, yoi." Lance looked shocked. "I never knew that, but it makes sense. Everything has a weakness. Even phoenixes too apparently. You don't happen to know what this is?" Marco shook his head. "Clear wouldn't tell, yoi." Lance nodded. "Makes sense. I really wonder what this is. It must be something strong." That was true, it must be something really strong. He spoke a bit more with Lance, who still had no idea how Ace had lost his devil fruit, but was doing his best. He really hoped they would get somewhere. He felt so bad for Ace, he really had enjoyed being a hybrid, Ace felt as if he had lost his human side, which Marco disagreed with a bit. Ace was human, he was more human than what many others were.

When it was breakfast, he saw Ace was out, but he disappeared after it, and Marco had a feeling he went back to bed, and he hoped for it as well. Ace needed the sleep, and he didn't have any duties in the morning, but had them in the evening, and Ace seemed to be happy with this arrangement. But when he saw Ace later, he headed over as he had a question. He should probably ask Lance, but he wondered if Ace knew. "Ace, yoi." Ace looked at him, which made him continue. "Is God real?" Ace hummed. "From what I learned from Aoba, who learned from Vincent and those, there does exist Gods." Marco linked. "Gods? As in plural, yoi?" Ace nodded. "Yeah. Not one religion is wrong or right, but there exist norse Gods, Christian God or Gods, and such. Some more powerful than others." Marco nodded. "Have you met any, yoi?" Ace shook his head. "No, but Aoba has." Marco blinked. "Who did he meet, yoi?" Ace gave an unsure sound. "Uh… I don't remember." Marco nodded. "Okay." Ace then gave a thoughtful frown. "Maybe Lance has met one." Marco nodded, that was his thought as well. He should ask Lance.

He spoke a bit more with Ace, before they parted, and he found Lance, asking him the same question, and Lance said the same. Not one religion was right or wrong, and there existed many. When he asked if Lance had met one, he said no, but that he would like to meet one, as it sounded interesting. And Marco was curious as well, he wondered if they would ever meet a God as well. It really did sound intriguing.

The next time they docked a week later, he joined Ace on the island during night so he could feed on something warm. Marco was unsure if he should offer or not, seeing as Ace had already eaten from him, but decided not to. As they were walking around, Ace sent a look at him. "I smell a deer." Marco nodded. "Go get it, yoi." Ace gave an excited sound, before he was off. Ace was extremely fast as a vampire. He was fast before as well, when he was a hybrid, but he seemed much faster now. When he caught up with Ace, he was already feeding on the deer and seemed content. It was still an unnerving feeling about watching Ace feed, but it was getting better each time he joined Ace with this, the reason he did it as well. He wanted to get used to Ace. They hadn't worked on Ace being a vampire and not being happy, as they had a few times before. Maybe they should start that again, so he could get used to the vampire. He would ask Ace about it, maybe even Lance, if he knew if it would become better or not.

So, when the next day came, he went over to Lance and asked if his phoenix would ever manage to be comfortable around Ace, and the witch said maybe, he didn't know for sure, but had a feeling things would become easier. So, he asked Ace if they could try again, and the vampire said yes, and they tried to work a bit each day. It was hard, as he wanted to get away from Ace when he was a vampire or went red eyes or fangs out, even more if he said 'no' with a sneer. It was so hard, but he wanted to be able to do this.

Whitebeard sat out on deck, enjoying a good day. They were about to dock at an island in a few hours, and he was looking forward to it. But as they were nearing, Lance came up to him. "Newgate, would it be fine if another witch joined us for a little bit? I could use a ride." The captain nodded. "Of course. How long do you think?" The witch shrugged. "Maybe until we stop next. He could also help me with Ace, to figure out how this was done." That sounded really good, and he wanted that.

So when they docked a few hours later, a man was waiting for them on the dock, a man in his mid thirties and had silver hair. As they were docked, Lance met this man before he made a motion towards him. "This is Trevor. He will be with us for a bit." Everyone nodded and said hi. And as the silver-haired man was on the boat, he pointed at Marco. "This the phoenix?" Lance nodded, and before Marco could ask why he was wondering, the man got something out and poked Marco in the arm with it, making Marco move a hand to cover it. "Ouch. What did you do, yoi?" Trevor shrugged. "Wanted a test." He then pointed at Ace. "This the vampire? Who is suddenly a full vampire." Lance nodded and Ace moved to hide behind his leg. "Don't poke me!" Trevor shrugged. "Okay. I just thought you wanted to become a hybrid again." That had Ace blink, before he slowly walked out from behind his leg and got poked in the arm, seeming to be a sort of needle. The silver-haired man nodded. "Good. Maybe this will help. Can you swim?" Ace blinked. "No! Or wait… no… I don't know…" That was a good question, and Lance hummed. "I never thought about that. We should try." Whitebeard wasn't too sure of it, but the two witches seemed to be, and he trusted Lance, at least to some extent, He trusted Lance wouldn't hurt or put Ace in danger on purpose.

They then went to the board plank and headed off the boat, probably so Ace could walk out on the shore to the right. But, as they were on the plank, Trevor causally moved a hand out and pushed Ace off the plank and into the water, Ace going with a yell. As the splash sounded, Trevor hummed. "He seems to be sinking. Someone should get him." Namur was the first to react and jumped out to fetch Ace, who was sinking. When Ace was safe on the boat, he gave a glare to Trevor. "What the hell is wrong with you?! I could have drowned!" Trevor hummed. "Can't you breathe underwater?" Ace moved to open his mouth, before he closed it, and tried again, but nothing, before he glared. "I could have maybe, possibly, somehow, maybe not, drowned!" Trevor shook his head. "But this is interesting. You're no longer a devil fruit user, but sinks. That's weird." Lance nodded, looking thoughtful. "He doesn't react to seastone, so this is weird." Ace blinked, before he nodded. "That is weird. What am I?" Trevor hummed. "I don't know, but not a full vampire, but not a devil fruit user. You're a thing between both, maybe something else as well. This is really interesting." It was curious, the captain had to say that.

Whitebeard looked at his son. "Are you okay?" Ace nodded. "Sure, I didn't feel weak. I just… sank." The captain nodded, and Trevor did as well. "That is curious. May I do some tests? Tests that Lance haven't done?" Ace nodded. "If you can fix me, yes." Trevor hummed. "I don't know if I can fix you, but maybe I can. When is the next blood moon?" Ace hummed. "Umm, in a week and half." Trevor nodded. "Okay. I need to do some tests before, under, and after it. Okay? Some will hurt." Ace nodded. "A few Lance has done has hurt. So it's fine." Trevor nodded. "Good. I have a feeling we will become good friends. I like you." Ace blinked. "We've never met." Trevor shrugged. "I feel as if we have. Maybe in a previous life." Ace frowned, obviously not feeling the same. This Trevor seemed like a special person. He was a witch, but still. Lance wasn't this… particular. It was weird to see. He hoped Trevor wouldn't hurt Ace in a way with these tests. But he had a feeling Lance would be there as well, and he trusted him more than Trevor. Trevor did seem straightforward though, so that was something.

He was sure the next days would go fine.
