Barbie's POV
I was beginning to panic.
My little sister was in danger.
"It's gonna be okay," Renee tried to comfort me.
But right now I had too many mixed feelings to even be able to process anything.
I couldn't even speak.
Right then the door to the room was opened.
"Hey...is everything alright?" Ken asked as he came inside.
"No, they kidnapped Chelsea. We don't know who they are and what they want," Renee replied.
Ken sat near me.
"I'll leave you two be," Renee said as she stood up and left.
Ken quickly hugged me.
I couldn't do it anymore so I broke down crying.
Ken rubbed my back in comfort.
"What am I gonna do?" I asked hopelessly.
"Shh... it's gonna be okay," he whispered to me.
But I what if things went wrong?
Ken kissed my forehead.
Then I felt calm as Ken began to stroke my hair..
"It's been a tiring day for you. How about you get some sleep?" Ken said calmly as he laid me down on my bed.
He was about to leave when I grabbed his hand.
"Stay! Please...I need you to be with me tonight," I said pleadingly.
Ken sat near my bed and put his one arm around my waist.
"Everything for you, Barbara," he smiled warmly then he kissed my head.
I giggled.
I always loved Ken. But this made me even fall in love with him even more.
Soon I was relaxed and safe. Soon I was drifted to sleep.
Ken's POV
I chuckled as I looked down at the love of my life.
She was sleeping peacefully in my arms.
I smiled to myself as I remembered all those good times we had together.
But then Barbie's step uncle had to come to the picture and ruin her happiness.
I wish I knew how to protect her.
I began to stroke her hair.
I just wanted to tell her how I felt towards her.
But I was just a friend to her.
After a few more minutes...I was drifted to sleep.
Barbie's POV
I woke up around nine a.m
I saw Ken right beside my bed sleeping.
I quickly remembered all the events of the previous night.
"Get a grip, Barbie! He likes Harriet. He doesn't like you like that," I thought with myself.
I quickly shrugged it off as I got up from my bed.
By that time, we were discussing some solutions for our current problem.
"So... We lost the gem and the riddles and also they kidnapped Chelsea," Teresa began.
"I wonder who they are. Do you think it might be... Delaforse doing this?" Cassandra asked.
I honestly didn't know.
"But why would she do that?" Patricia asked, "she already has the jewel and the riddle."
My eyes went wide as realization hit me.
"She wants those drawings," I replied shocked, "those drawings are some clues."
This was bad.
Right then I heard my phone was ringing.
I glanced at my phone.
It was unknown number.
"Put it on speaker so we can hear the conversation," Cassandra said.
I nodded as I answered the phone and put it on speaker.
"Listen, Roberts. We have the jewel, the riddles and your little sister. If you want your sister, bring us the drawings," said a man.
I was fighting the urge to curse him and then rip him apart.
I glanced at my friends.
Cassandra pointed to her computer.
She was tracking the number.
I smiled as I nodded.
I had to stall him.
"And how am I sure that you'd return my sister?" I asked challengingly.
I smirked.
"Well...other than those drawings we want you as well," he replied, "so you'll know that your sister will be safe and sound if you hand over the drawings."
My eyes were widened.
What the hell did he just say right now?
I glanced at others.
Cassandra motioned me to keep going.
I took a deep breath.
"Me? Why would you want me?" I asked trying to stall him even more.
"You're the only one who can figure out those drawings," he replied grumpily.
I rolled my eyes.
"Where should we trade?" I asked.
"The same place where you were last night," he replied.
I was fuming with anger.
"And how can I trust you that I wouldn't end up like last night?" I asked firmly.
He was speechless.
"You are in no position to negotiate!" he snapped.
I snorted as I rolled my eyes.
"If you bring police...," he began to yell but I cut him off by hanging the phone.
"Ah...feels so good," I said.
Cassandra chuckled.
"I found where your sister is being held," she declared as she showed us her laptop.
It was in a company nearby.
"Guess who owns this company?" Cassandra asked.
"Elena Delaforse?" I guessed.
She nodded.
"So what's the plan?" Ken asked.
Cassandra smirked.
"I know someone who can help us. She's a spy and she's my friend. I'm gonna text her," she replied, "all we gotta do is to get a fake version of these drawings with false clues. This is when my friend Stella steps in. Basically she's a designer so this should be a piece of cake for her."
Hey...that was a good plan.
Right then my phone beeped.
I quickly grabbed it.
"They texted me. It's the same location as where we went last night. I don't like the sound of this," I said.
Patricia put her hand on my shoulder.
"Don't worry...we got your back," she smiled.
I nodded.
Cassandra called her friend as she headed towards the yard.
After a few minutes I heard a sound of ringing which made jump out of skin.
Someone was ringing the doorbell.
I shrugged.
I opened the door.
At the doorstep I saw a young girl at my age. She had long straight black hair and had black eyes. She kinda seemed familiar.
"Umm... Where's Cass?" she asked.
"Who are ya?" Patricia asked
I looked at the girl shocked.
I knew her...she was one of my close friends.
"Stella?" I asked rather shocked.
She gave me a confusing look.
"What the-
Barbie?" Stella exclaimed.
Cassandra came inside.
"You two know each other?" she asked as she glanced at me and Stella.
Stella chuckled.
"Umm...yeah! Me and Barbie were childhood friends! Wait a sec... you're the spy who stopped that megalomaniac planning world domination!" Stella exclaimed.
I looked at her confused.
"She's talking about Dunbar," Cassandra said making me laugh so hard.
"Whoa...I dare you to say that to his face," Patricia joked.
I scowled. "Patricia, that's a very dangerous dare...you know how my step uncle is."
Stella's eyes went wide in shock.
"WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL!!!
HE'S YOUR STEP UNCLE???? OH MY FREAKING GOD!" she exclaimed.
I sighed as I nodded.
She gave me a sympathetic look and patted on my shoulder.
Anyways, Stella, how's your sister, Sarah?" I asked.
She smiled. "As usual."
"Anyways, Cassandra here said you can help us with something," Renee said as Stella nodded.
"Don't worry about that. I'll got your back," she winked, "just give me the original piece of work. It's gonna take a couple of hours to design the fake drawings with false clues. But I can finish them all before the arranged time."
I smiled as I gave her the drawings.
It was a pretty long while since I've last seen Stella...I think last time I saw her was when I was twelve.
Maybe things weren't so bad...
I had my friends who supported me.
Man...if only I knew how much of trouble all of us were getting into.
