"Knock Knock! I come bearing gifts!"

Rossi opened the door to the hospital room to find Spencer sitting cross legged on the bed. He had a large book open in front of him that he was reading. Morgan was sitting back in one of the chairs next to the bed. He was drinking a coffee while watching Spencer read. Both looked up when Rossi walked in.

Spencer offered a small wave. "Hi Uncle Dave."

Rossi made his way into the room and placed a bag on the end of the bed. He then gently ruffled Spencer's hair. "Hi bambino." He turned to Morgan. "Prentiss is waiting for you downstairs."

Morgan gave him a confused look. "What do you mean?"

"Prentiss is taking you house hunting." Rossi answered, as if it wasn't a big deal.

Spencer looked between the two with a scared expression. Morgan's confusion didn't waver. "Rossi, I was just going to move us into the house I'm renovating."

Rossi scoffed. "Morgan I have been to that house. It's nice and all, but it doesn't have a yard for Spencer and it's far away from the office. Buy a new house."

Morgan looked conflicted. "I get what you're saying but Spencer is being discharged later today. We don't have time to get a new house."

"Yes and that is why you both will be staying with me until the house is ready."

That caught Morgan off guard. "Rossi… Wow, that's… that would be amazing. Thank you."

"Ah don't mention it. It can get a little lonely in my mansion so it would be great to have some company. But you shouldn't keep Prentiss waiting."

Morgan went to stand and leave, but Spencer grabbed his hand. Morgan looked down to see a fearful and pleading look on Spencer's face. He whispered so quietly that Morgan almost missed it. "Don't go..."

"Oh buddy I'm just gonna be gone for a couple of hours. Rossi will stay with you, okay?"

Spencer didn't release his hold on his hand. Morgan looked to Rossi for help, who moved over to the bag that he had brought. "Well kiddo I brought us some things for us to play with…"

He pulled a small chess board out of the bag. Spencer's fearful expression turned to one of excitement. "I love chess!"

Rossi smirked. "I thought you might. So is it okay if your dad goes to find you a house while we play?"

Spencer looked between Morgan, Rossi, and the chess board. "Um… okay."

Morgan leaned down and kissed the boy's forehead. "Good man. I'll only be gone for a couple of hours, okay? Be good for your Uncle Dave."

Spencer nodded to him. He got up and left the room, watching as Rossi and Spencer set up the chess set on the bed. He made his way to the exit of the hospital where Prentiss was waiting for him.

"Took you long enough." She said playfully.

"Yeah well I didn't get much of a warning and Spencer didn't want me to leave."

The two got into Prentiss' car and started driving. "The kid really loves you."

Morgan smiled to himself. "Well the feeling's mutual."

"You do know that JJ and Garcia are going crazy buying stuff for your new house, right?"

Morgan laughed. "Why am I not surprised. And you are bringing me house hunting, while Rossi's watching Spencer. And Hotch is finishing up the adoption papers." He paused and looked over to Prentiss. "You guys are really amazing."

"Well you're family. We just want to make the transition easier for you and Spencer."

"I know. Like I said, you guys are amazing."

They spent the next three hours going from open house to open house. Eventually, they managed to find the perfect home for Morgan and Spencer. Morgan signed for the house, and the two made their way back to the hospital.

When Morgan got to Spencer's room, they found Spencer and Rossi sitting on the bed playing a card game. The little boy's face was scrunched up as he concentrated on the game. Morgan watched from the door, not wanting to interrupt. After a minute of playing, Spencer's face lit up as he put his cards down. "I win!"

Rossi playfully threw down his cards and gave a dramatic sigh. Spencer giggled at this but then looked up to find Morgan standing in the doorway. "Daddy!"

Spencer tried to get down off the bed and run to Morgan, but Rossi put his hand out to block him. "Bambino, you have to be careful. You're still healing."

Spencer nodded to Rossi and stopped his efforts. He raised his arms out to Morgan, who swiftly and carefully lifted him into his arms. He then sat down on the bed where Spencer had previously been, and sat the boy down on his lap. He hugged the little boy gently so as to not disturb his injuries.

"Were you okay while I was gone?"

"I uh… I got really scared..." Spencer said, fidgeting.

"He had a panic attack only a little after you left, but I was able to calm him down." Rossi supplied.

Morgan rubbed his arm and kissed him on the top of his head. "I'm sorry baby. Did you have any fun at all?"

Spencer started bouncing slightly in his protector's lap, quickly forgetting his worry from a moment before. "Uh huh. We played chess and cards! I won every time too!"

Morgan looked from the excited little boy to Rossi. "Really?"

"If I didn't know better, I'd say the kid was card counting."

Spencer cocked his head to the side. "But I was card counting?"

Rossi and Morgan both looked at the child with wide eyes filled with disbelief. "You know how to count cards?"

Spencer nodded and smiled at the two men. Rossi leaned over to ruffle the boy's hair. "Well, I suppose that makes more sense then. Remind me to bring you to one of my poker nights."

Morgan laughed and Spencer giggled. Then, Spencer shot up as if he just remembered something. He leaned over and grabbed a large stack of papers. "Uncle Dave let me read his rough draft of the book he's working on!"

Morgan flipped through the papers and noticed markings in the margins. They were in red ink and were only barely legible. "Did you edit it?"

"Yeah. I found some errors and Uncle Dave said it was okay."

Morgan looked over to Rossi. "Well Uncle Dave," He narrowed his eyes jokingly, "I see that someone is putting my little man to work already."

Rossi put his hands up in fake surrender. "Hey, it helped him out of his panic attack! And he really wanted to!"

"I did!" Exclaimed Spencer, "I like helping!"

Morgan chuckled. "Okay, okay. Spencer can be David Rossi's little editor."

Spencer started bouncing excitedly again. "Yay!"

Morgan smiled at the cute display and kissed the boy's forehead. "We're allowed to leave now buddy. Are you ready to go?"

"Did you find a house?" Asked Spencer.

"Yeah buddy I did. I think you're gonna love it. But it's going to take a bit to have it all set up so we're going to stay with Uncle Dave. Is that okay?"

"Yeah! I like Uncle Dave. He's fun."

"I'm glad to hear that. Now let's get out of this stuffy hospital."
