Christmas was rapidly approaching and the weather was nothing but disappointing. There was no crisp white snow, no frosted scenery and certainly no icicles. Instead, it was cold and the ground was so muddy that the one time they played quidditch Harry and Ron both slipped and ended up face down in the mud. Harry didn't know what stung more, His face or Ginny's raucous laughter as she watched him attempt to stand up and then fall back on his face. He was really hoping for some snow for some payback in the form of some magically propelled snowballs.
Harry had just lost so badly at chess to Ron that Hermione wasn't even bothering to reprimand Ron on "Proper game etiquette". When George came sauntering in holding something that looked a lot like a muggle snow globe. He had gained a hollow glint as Christmas grew nearer but he seemed to hold a glimpse of genuine excitement in his voice.
"Ladies and Gentlemen I have the solution to all our weather problems" He brandished the snow globe. "Please follow me" He gestured to the door and the family followed him out. George halted about ten metres from the house and then threw the snow globe down with force. Clouds started to shoot out and gathered in a soft ceiling over the already in place charms. Suddenly flurries of snow came hurtling down, resting on the muddy ground.
"Ah! Snow!" Ginny cried in delight before running inside to change into more snow appropriate weather. She emerged holding Harry's scarf then began to run around like a lunatic. Noticing everyone else looking slightly shocked she rolled her eyes and dragged Harry into the mounting piles of fluffy snow. They ran a few metres and then she dropped dramatically to the floor and began to make a snow angel. Seeing Harry's reluctance she kicked at his knees causing him to fall to the ground with a thud
"Snow Angel Now, Chosen One" Ginny demanded with a grin. Harry heard the snap of a camera and hoped that whoever it was hadn't caught him being kicked in the knees before falling face-first into the snow but hearing the laughter that followed he felt that it wasn't the case.
He did an awkward spasmodic movement to try and make the snow Angel then began to stand up, pulling Ginny with him. He had only just regained his footing when he was slammed in the face with wet snow all causing him to topple back again with another click ensuing. He stood up quickly, already compressing the snow into a tight ball. He saw the gleeful look on Ron's face and launched it at him, hearing it land with a satisfying splat. When he felt three more snowballs hit him he knew he had just started a war, all but grabbing grabbed he ran behind the broom shed still dragging her slightly.
Half an hour later they were called in for hot chocolate and Harry couldn't help but wince when his frozen fingers met the hot mug. There were multiple fat marshmallows and some cream which Ginny seemed to be slurping up beside him at a million miles per minute. He let out a satisfied sigh as he leant back into the old sofa causing Ginny to stop gulping and turn to look at him.
"Happy?" She asked quietly
"You have no idea. I think I may have frozen my fingers though-"
"Well, you better warm them up as I have a young boy that I have promised snow for" Came the reply of a voice. He turned to see his Godson bundled up in so many layers the only visible part of him were his Amber eyes and his tiny button nose.
"Hawwy!" Came to a muffled cry and he began moving his arms up and down (it was the only way for him to make his appearance known.) Harry walked forward and said hello before rushing around putting on his snow clothes with Ginny and a few others following. Teddy whined slightly but quietened once he was in his Godfather's arms pressed up against four layers of clothes. Andromeda was also dressed in a thick coat and followed the troop out. Teddy squeaked in delight as Harry lowered him into the snow, squishing the ice between his fingers excitedly. Harry could hear the camera going off (especially when Harry and Ginny swung Teddy between them) during all of the commotions and it was another few hours before Teddy went home, sleepy but content.
Harry found himself once again sunk into the sofa but instead of poking at sticky marshmallows, he was helping direct the set up of a Muggle television which was an early Christmas present Harry had bought for the family (mostly Arthur) after he had found out that there was a group of Muggleborns that spent their time in hiding modifying muggle products which resulted in WBBC, the Wizard Britain Broadcasting Corporation.
They had thankfully contained more easy to follow instructions than most set up guides but Arthur had been so enamoured with all the 'muggle' attributes that they had only been able to turn it on so far. Harry pointed his wand at the screen and it burst to life landing on the quidditch channel. Causing everyone in the vicinity to draw closer in amazement. The dials underneath seemed to be constantly tweaking then suddenly the game ended and The screen went back to dark with a soft blue glow.
"These are ingenious. We can watch all of it instead of being stuck around the radio" Ginny whispered in wonderment. Harry looked at his girlfriends face stuck between amusement and a different feeling of love when he replied
"You are soo Arthur Weasley's daughter"
"I know. Still pretty incredible though"
"Absolutely fascinating" Harry replied sarcastically before kissing her. He pulled away quickly at the sound of retching mostly coming from Ron who was looking around for a new source of amusement after the Television interest.
"Oh shut it Hypocrite" Ginny answered leaving the room in silence until Hermione came in holding a wad of photos. Ginny murmured next to him "Speak of the devil" forcing him to swallow a laugh.
"I just finished treating the photos!" She then gingerly laid them out in piles in front of the corresponding person. Harry pulled his pile towards him and, as expected, saw himself be kicked in the knees then face plant into the snow. Hearing Ginny giggle over his shoulder he moved onto the next one to see his face shrouded in a snowball. He flicked through and decided his favourite rather quickly. Just before Teddy and Andromeda went home everyone settled in the living room briefly with cups of tea and blankets to warm up. The picture was taken with a levitation charm from afar so everyone was in it. Molly and Arthur were cuddled up on the sofa looking over Ron and Hermione who were curled up on the floor. Ginny and Himself were sat next to Andromeda on the Sofa with Teddy lounging between them and George was leaning against Percy, obviously explaining a prank from his smile that Percy didn't approve of, but must have found at least somewhat funny based on his barely restrained smile. Harry knew that was going pride of place on his bedside next to his parents. His new family alongside his old.
