Beginning Notes
This was supposed to be something entirely different, but while I was writing the beginning I completely forgot I was supposed to be writing a prompt and just made everything fluffy. Whoops, my bad. So now this chapter is basically:
What if Percy and Annabeth went on a shopping date?
I'm posting this anyways cause it's cute and very soft and felt like sharing this short, sugary sweet oneshot with you guys. So, I hope you enjoy it lol, characters belong to Rick Riordan.
Annabeth's POV
Percy and I had decided to go shopping and relax a little since we hadn't done that in a while. We had fun just hanging around the shops, and casually looking around at things. I bought some new books, Percy got some cute little plushies for his sister Estelle. We even stopped by a clothing shop for fun.
'Hey Wise Girl?' Percy asked.
I turned around from the rack of shirts I was looking at. 'Hm?'
He was holding up a flowy light grey summer dress with a nice flower print on it. 'What do you think of this?'
I frowned. 'For me, or you?' I asked him.
Percy chuckled. 'I mean, I could try it on, I'm sure I'd rock it, but I actually meant for you. It matches your eyes.'
He was smiling, a soft blush on his face, and it was then that I wondered how long it had been since we'd actually spent quality boyfriend-girlfriend time like this.
'Oh, okay, I'll go try it on then,' I said, smiling back at him, a warm feeling filling my stomach.
I went to the changing room and tried on the dress. It was light and flowy and the material was so soft, it felt like I was floating. After looking in the mirror to see that the dress indeed matched my eyes and fit perfectly, I opened the curtain of the dressing room to show Percy.
'Wow, you look gorgeous, Annabeth,' he said.
I planted a chaste kiss on his lips. 'I know.'
'Of course you do,' he said shaking his head a little, but his smile had grown even wider, and gods did I love his smile.
I kissed him on his cheek and then swiftly went back to the changing room to put on my own clothes again.
'Here, I'll go pay for it,' Percy said when I was done.
'Don't worry about it, Percy, I can do it myself.'
'But I want to pay it for you,' he said pouting.
I sighed. I was so soft for that pout of his, and I knew it, so I handed him the dress. 'Oh, I just remembered Malcolm asked me to get him some stuff. You can go stand in line, I'll be right back. If I take too long just wait here once you're done,' I told him before rushing off.
Malcolm didn't need anything at all, but I needed an excuse to go get Percy something too. I knew exactly what I wanted to get him, since he'd been ogling one very specific top the whole time we'd been in the shop.
It only took me about a minute to find my way back to it again and pick out Percy's size. The top was quite basic; just a simple turtle-neck tank top, but I knew Percy wanted to get it.
After he'd accompanied Piper on one of her massive shopping sprees he'd started trying out lots of new styles. He still mainly wore casual and comfy clothing, but every once in a while he'd dress nicely for the occasion like a birthday party or the special camp-disco that the Apollo cabin organised every month. It was nice to see him get more comfortable with and expand his own style, and I knew the tank top would look great on him, so I wanted to get it for him.
On my way back to the checkout I saw a green and black bomber jacket that would go so nicely with the top, so I looked for Percy's size and took that as well.
When I got to the checkout, I saw Percy at the front of the line, paying for the dress and I quickly got in another line. I payed for the clothes and went back to the place where I'd told Percy to wait for me.
'Did you get everything Malcolm needed?' he asked.
'Well, no, Malcolm didn't really need anything. It was actually just an excuse to slip away and get you this,' I said, handing him the bag with the turtle-neck and the bomber jacket in it.
He looked inside the bag and his eyes lit up as he smiled. 'Oh, Annabeth, you didn't have to.'
'Yes, I did. You were looking at that top the whole time, I knew you wanted it. And the jacket goes nicely with it. Besides, it matches your eyes,' I told him with a wink.
He kissed me on the cheek and said:
'I love you, Wise Girl.'
'I love you too, Seaweed Brain.'
And as we walked out of the shop, fingers intertwined, I felt like the happiest person in the world.
End Notes
Gotta love that sweet, sweet Percabeth! Anyways that was all. Yes, it was kinda short, but it was soft and fluffy and I don't want your teeth falling out from all the sweetness so that's all you get hahaha.
If you have any prompts you want me to use, let me know in a review, or PM me, whatever you wish. I hope you have a fantastic day, and until next time! Byeee :)
