Camus made his way to the outskirts of Narnia where he once found a roof over his head. In order for his plan to work he needed more information, he knew just to ask.
Walking through the ruins made him remember his childhood. The person that he met here was actually the closest thing that he had to family. But that didn't matter, not at all. All that mattered was that he got revenge from everyone that wronged him, especially the Pevensies.
Camus came out into the clearing from inside the water cave and he was flooded with memories. He shook them off as he brought out the spellbook and started to chant the spell that he required. The second the last syllable was out of his mouth, a loud groan creeped up the walls
"Who dares to wake me up after all these years?" The voice spoke out.
"It is I, Camus." He revealed.
The smoke that formed in front of him started swirling to take the shape and a tall man appeared before him. "How dare you show your face again?" The sorcerer spitted out.
"I have no fear. I don't regret killing you. You might have taught me all that you knew but I was always one step ahead of you." Camus smirked. "Now, let's not waste any precious time….of mine."
"You haven't changed one bit, boy." The sorcerer chuckled, recognising the poison in his once disciple's voice. "What do you want?"
Camus snarled. "I am a man, far older than any boy, and I want to know about your weaknesses."
"You know that I had none." He replied calmly.
"Then how was I able to kill you?" Camus shouted, echoing off the walls of the cave.
"It's because I let you, you fool." The sorcerer chuckled. "You were never one step ahead of me. In fact, we weren't even walking the same road."
"Enough! Now, I command you to tell me what the Seven Swords can do."
The sorcerer was slightly smirking, amused. "You never did know the entire story."
"Then what is the entire story?"
"You are about to meet your doom. I don't need to be alive to know that deep down you yourself know it. Otherwise you wouldn't be here and-"
"Just answer the question!" Camus interrupted.
"The power that the seven have is immense. Only the worthy are allowed to be aware of, and looking at the certain circumstances, I bid you adieu. You can fill in the dots by yourself." The smoke vanished, leaving Camus alone to shout in anger.
"Cold." Edmund thought to himself as he was waking up. He couldn't remember what had happened, nor either sleeping in the first place. "Where am I?" He thought to himself. "It almost feels as if I am sitting on ice...ice!" He sat up quickly as he realized where he was. "The White Witch's Castle." He told himself fearful of what was to come.
"Wait, that's not my voice." His voice was higher than it normally was. He walked up to see his reflection against the clear glossy ice. He was a young boy again, the same age that he had been when he betrayed his siblings. But he didn't look the same. He had snow white hair and icy blue eyes. He was wearing some kind of king attire, but it wasn't Narnian and it wasn't Telmarine either.
"Your Majesty." He heard a shaky voice from behind him.
He turned around and it was Lucy, but she was a young girl. She was wearing rags and had dirt on her face. "Oh Lu." He thought to himself as he took a step to go comfort her.
She looked startled and flinched, confusing him. "Please don't hurt me." Before he could say anything, she spoke up again. "Queen Jadis needs you in the throne room please." She said before hurrying away, not looking him in the eye.
Edmund shuddered at that name. Queen Jadis? He reluctantly walked through the icy hall. All the servants around him backed away from him, fear radiating off their bodies. He did not like where that was going, He walked into the throne room where he saw her.
There she stood tall and menacingly smiled as he entered. "Hello, my son." The White Witch smiled as she brought him into a hug, succeeding in it even though Edmund tried to break away.
"What's going on?" He asked, hoping for an answer from really anyone.
"Whatever do you mean?" She asked. "It is just another day of Narnia in my rule." She pointed her wand as she subjects.
"The wand. It was never broken." He thought to himself.
What happened to my siblings?" He asked, nervous about the answer.
"Well, don't you remember? After we defeated Aslan, I turned that older brother of yours into stone as your sisters work for us now."
"He's dead." He shuttered trying to hide it. "And my sisters are servants." "
This isn't what I wanted." He told her, pushing her away.
"Of course it is dear." She smiled. "You are in-charge now. You can do whatever you want, without someone above you. You can finally add all the stars into your life just as you have always wanted. You can be a real King and never have to go back to that dreaded England. Join me. Just take my hand."
What Edmund didn't know was that if he took her hand, it would lead him off the ship into the ocean as he was standing on the edge of the ship over the rough seas.
"Susan." A voice whispered, making the young woman turn around.
"Caspian." She smiled but frowned almost immediately. "Oh, not again." She groaned as she realised what she was seeing.
"We were interrupted the last time, dear." Caspian spoke with a certain determination in his voice. "Come." He offered her his hand.
"Where?" Susan inquired. She knew that it wasn't real but her heart was trying to believe that it was.
"Just take my hand."
She stared at it and then back at him. "No." She crossed her arms across her chest, reminding her that she was the only one that she could trust.
"Susan." He got down on one knee. "Why are you being so stubborn?"
"I'm not being stubborn. Things aren't what I would wish them to be."
"Marry me then."
"What?" She breathed out.
"Marry me." He repeated. "Forget about England. Forget about Aslan. Just say yes and take my hand." He offered her his hand once again.
"No." Edmund told the White Witch sharply. "I will not take your hand. I will never take your hand." He looked down at his sword. He was still wearing Rhindon. He smiled. "I never gave it back."
"Fine. Then you must be killed traitor." She charged at him with her wand.
"This is some real déjà vu." He thought to himself as he held onto Rhindon. She charged and he used the same move he did years ago as he sliced the Witch's wand in half. It glew and bright blue crystals flew out, sending him out of the horrible dream.
He woke up and found himself standing over the edge of the ship. "Woah!" He grabbed a hold of a rope so he didn't fall off. "'m really glad that I didn't take her hand." He smiled only for it to fade. "Focus, Edmund. Now is really not the time."
He noticed that everyone on the ship was asleep, the green mist covering it entirely. You couldn't even see further than 6 feet in this thick mist. "They must be under the spell too."
He rushed into Susan and Lucy's room. If anyone could help him, it was Susan. She was the most logical after all. He could hear her struggling in her sleep. She was clearly dreaming something horrid. He decided to do what his siblings did all those years ago for him, comfort her.
"Susan." He whispered. "I know you are strong. Whatever it is can't hurt you, it's just a dream. It isn't real. Please Susan, I need you. You can beat it. Wake up."
She struggled and struggled until she shook awake breathing heavily. "Just breathe Susan, deep breaths. You did it."
"Oh, Ed." She closed her eyes and buried her face in her hands.
He placed a hand on her shoulder. "We need to wake the others up."
"The sooner the better." She realised. "Wait, how did you wake up?"
"The nightmare was about the White Witch's offer to me." He explained to her. "I won't be fooled by any more of her games, not again." Susan pulled him into a hug in the short time that they had. "You did great, Ed."
"Thank you, Su." He smiled before pulling away.
"Are the others awake? Lucy?" She whispered as she turned her head to look at her sister.
"She's not waking up. It seems that she has been the worst affected. I tried waking the others up but they wouldn't budge. I thought of waking you up instead. I would always need your help more than the others." He finally expressed to her.
"I take great pride that you would come to me, brother."
"Now, let's try to wake the others up."
The middle Pevensies found themselves walking quickly towards the deck which was shared by the young men all asleep. They then rushed into the gloomy room and pulled the covers from Caspian and Peter.
Even though the situation commanded something else, Ed couldn't resist pinching his brother and maybe shouting near his ears. He would always take the opportunity to mess with his brother. It was his job as the younger sibling.
"Ed!" Susan scolded.
"What?" He shrugged.
"Get a pail of water." She was amused by her brother's behaviour but chose not to encourage it.
"Fine!" He groaned. "Such a mum."
Susan kept shaking the shoulders of her brother as well as Caspian but nothing seemed to work. "Oh, Caspian." She whispered as he started to wither in his sleep. "Wake up! It's not real!"
But then, an idea struck her mind. "Please let this work." She squeezed her eyes shut before she kissed Caspian. "It's not real." She whispered one last time.
"What!" Caspian opened his eyes up and was definitely scared of whatever his nightmare had shown him.
"It's not real! Caspian!" It was Susan's turn to try to calm him down.
He seemed to catch a hold of the reality of the situation by focusing on her voice. "Susan?"
"I'm here." She held onto his hands. "I'm here. I'm real." She reassured him.
"Oh I'm so grateful for you." He whispered into her hair as he pulled her into a hug.
"And I you." She pulled herself back but did not let go of his hands.
"I got it." Edmund stated as he entered the room. He noticed Caspian and Susan getting all emotional and he knew that he should have just gone to wake up Lucy first.
"How did you wake him up?" Edmund asked.
"I kissed him." Susan blushed.
"Great, do it with Peter." Edmund joked.
"No way, you do it!" Susan exclaimed.
"I'd rather kiss Caspian's big fish lips than Peter."
"I'm honored you think so highly of me." Caspian smiled through his teeth. "Maybe we should try something else that doesn't involve kissing?"
"Agreed." Both of them said at the same time.
Caspian got off of his hammock immediately. "I'm going to check on the crew members. I'll try the pail of water if nothing works." He joked. "I trust that you'll wake Peter and Lucy?"
Go." Edmund said. "We'll wake them up."
Once he was out of the room, Ed walked to his brother's hammock. His hands held the pail with shaking hands. "What do we do?" He asked.
"Pouring water is a good way to wake someone up." Susan stated.
"I like this new side of you, Susan." He smirked. "But what if that causes them to make a wrong decision?" He voiced his concern.
"We don't have another choice." She sighed. "You've been wanting to do this, haven't you?" She couldn't help but smirk and noticed the irony of the situation.
"Ever since Finchley." He admitted, aiming the bucket at his older brother.
That is all for this week! See you next week!-23LucyGrace
