Descendants 3 Chapter 31

Episode 22A

Lyra, Leia, and Alice zapped into Storybrooke, Maine, falling a few feet on to the beach. Leia spat out sand as she pulled herself up.

Leroy/Grumpy saw them arrive, eating his lunch at the beach along with a couple other dwarves, like Bashful, and Dopey. He was just commenting on how quiet it was to spend his lunches with them when the three girls dropped in.

Alice sat up and made eye contact with a very alarmed Leroy. She laid her hands out in a calming manner. "We're looking for Emma and the Charmings."

The dwarves looked skeptical, giving her untrustworthy expressions.

Leia sat up, gazing at the town. She saw cars driving down the road and a bus taking kids to school. She saw the huge buildings for the school and the tall clock tower ticking.

Lyra quickly stood up to clarify. "It's okay Grumpy."

Once he saw her, his face softened. "Lyra." His face got serious again and he ran into town shouting "Lyra! She's heeeeere!"

Other residents oohed and gasped, whispering to each other. Lily ran over to the sheriff's station and knocked on the large window. Emma and Killian were both inside. Emma was behind the desk while Killian was leaning over the desk. Lily said, "Lyra's here," which sounded muffled to them through the window.

Emma jumped out of her seat, standing up and rushing out of the station. Killian was right behind her, making their way to Granny's where the girls were.

Lyra pulled Leia along, who was just gazing at everything around her. She was in awe of everything. Even though she had the fake memories of Sarah, she didn't spend much time in a world with technology. Besides, Storybrooke was unique to any other town.

Alice was right beside them as they made their way to the heart of the town.

Residents gathered around them, forming a walkway for them. Astrid held Lyra's hand as she walked by. Lyra noticed her and waved. Once Lyra had eyes on her parents, she sprinted for them.

Emma quickly ran up to her too, almost crashing as they hugged. She held her daughter tightly in her arms. "Lyra." She smelled her hair and kissed her head. She released her grip and gazed at her daughter's face. "I was hoping you would visit again."

Lyra smiled wide and turned to her dad, giving him a hug too. "Did you get taller?" Killian asked her during their embrace.

Lyra kept on smiling at them and took their hands. "I'm glad I came back. But this is a really short trip."

Alice watched Emma and Killian together. This man had so much love in his eyes, and so did the woman. And the woman kind of resembled Alice, or at least the hair. Then she looked back at Lyra. It was so weird how in a different reality, her father found his happy ending without her ever existing.

Leia stood behind them, wondering what she should say. "Hey," She smiled at them a little, waving her hand at shoulder level.

Killian did a double take. At first he thought he saw Melody. He looked at her for a moment before guessing, "Leia?"

She nodded and went over to hug him.

Emma hugged them both, holding her daughters close. "Oh, I'm glad you're together." She said to them.

"And who's this?" Killian asked, leaning his head over to Alice.

"She's our friend," Lyra said. "Listen, we need your help. Henry is in danger."

"And Lena," Alice quickly said.

"And Regina, or the Regina from our time." Leia said.

"What can we do?" Emma asked.

"We need a way to get to a magical world." Lyra said. "A bean. Silver slippers-"

"A submarine," Leia added. "A mermaid."

"A wand." Alice suggested.

"A genie," Lyra continued.

The residents listened to all these magical ways of teleporting. There was once a time when this was impossible.

"A shadow." Leia said.

"Pegasus sail," Alice said.

"Cyclone." Lyra remembered.

"A magic mirror," Leia said, snapping her fingers.

"White Rabbit." Alice said.

Leroy and Smee raised their eyebrows hearing all these tools that they have used over the past few years. Lily's jaw dropped, listening to all these magical items they mentioned.

"A wishing star." Lyra said, still going.

"The apprentice's magic door." Leia said.

"A magical key." Alice said.

There was a pause, finally and Lyra said, "I think that's everything."

"You left out the magic hat." Alice said.

"That hat's gone." Lyra said. "And the subtle knife isn't here, so that's out."

"Actually," Killian said, "You forgot about Kraken's blood."

Leia giggled but Lyra remained serious. "Do you have any of those around here?"

The residents were all quiet for a moment before Bashful raised his hand. Everyone turned to face him. He mouthed the word "bean" without speaking the word.

Astrid pointed at him, as if she just got it. "The bean field!"

"But most of the beans aren't ready." Leroy.

"So, some are ready?" Leia asked. She stepped forward towards him.

Everyone looked at him. Leroy swayed his head from side to side. "Well, they're testy. Some just send you back here, and not to another land. And some close after just one person goes through."

"Who are you testing these beans with?" Emma asked. She folded her arms.

"The dwarves." Leroy said with a shrug.

Astrid shook her head at time.

Others gave him disapproving looks.

"Well I can't do it." Leroy said. "I have a wife and twins. My brothers don't."

"Nevermind that." Alice said. "If the beans are all we've got, we'll take them."

The dwarves left to fetch the beans while Emma and Killian walked the three girls to their home. Leia plopped onto the couch, feeling the material.

"Baby Leia isn't here, right?" Lyra asked.

"No, she's at Ashley's daycare." Emma said.

"Cinderella," Lyra whispered to Leia.

"What- what?" Alice asked.

Lyra's eyes widened. "Oh my gosh. That's right. There are multiple Cinderella's. And Alice's." She nudged her friend.

Alice looked at her in all confusion. "Another me?"

"Yeah." Lyra said. "This other Alice met a genie, fell in love and had a daughter. She grew up in a world like this one."

"Is she here in Storybrooke?" Alice asked.

"No, she lives in another time." Lyra said.

Snow, Charming, 4 year old Neal Jr, August, and Lily came over. The explained the situation as best they could without spoiling the future. August even knew a little about alternate versions of people.
"You do?" Leia asked.

"Yeah." August said. "There's different versions of all of us, well maybe not Emma since she's not a fairy tale character. But there's alternate versions of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Thumbelina, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, the Golden Compass, and even me."

"Tell me about it." Alice. "Our Rapunzel was Cinderella's stepmother."

Lyra's eyes glared at Alice.

"What? That's not a spoiler. She's dead anyway." Alice said.

"Alice!" Lyra warned her. "Ignore her," she asked them.

"That does bring up an interesting point about how Rumple is also many fairytale characters." August said.

Young Neal Jr. was sitting on the floor impatiently. He tugged on his mom's clothes and asked "What's going on?" a lot.

"We're talking, honey," Snow told him.

"And one version of Peter Pan has Hook and Tiger Lily being in love," August said.

Emma gave Killian a look. "Is that so?"

"Not me!" Killian defended.

Lyra and Emma chuckled at his reaction.

"Her Lily?" Little Neal Jr. asked.

"No," Lily said, sitting beside her husband August.

"Maybe he should go in another room?" David asked Snow.

"Not alone." Snow said. "Who's going to watch him?"
Lyra sat up from the couch. "I can."

In her old room, still with the movie posters up on the wall, Lyra sat down with young Neal Jr. They played with some of the legos on the shelf and built a town, according to Neal Jr. It looked like random block structures. When the town was done, they used dolls to occupy the town.

After an hour, Leroy and Astrid showed up with a best bean in the field.

The three girls thanked everyone and went out to the front porch to use it.

"Do you have to leave already?" Emma blurted.

"You're coming with us," Lyra said to her.

Emma smiled and without further explanation, stood by her daughters. Killian followed right behidn them.

"Charmings, are you coming?" Leia asked them.

Snow held her young son's hand and looked at David.

"We can watch Neal." Astrid offered.

"We can?" Leroy asked her.

"Yes," She told him.

Snow and David joined them in the grassy part of the porch.

"It was really cool seeing Storybrooke." Leia said.

Lyra threw down the bean and took Emma's hand and her sister's. Emma took Killain's hand too.

Once the portal opened up enough, Lyra jumped through, along with her sister and her parents. Alice went next and then the Charmings. Astrid, Leroy, little Neal Jr, Augsut and Lily watched the portal close and and hoped the bean worked.

The bean did take them to the wish world...just not the part of the wish world they wanted to be in and not together. Alice, Lyra, and Leia were in the castle, taken over by a corrupt alternate version of Henry. It was the Henry from the wish world that Emma knew with fake memories of him. She saw him become vengeful after the charmings died and Emma disappeared.

They were in the dungeons where they quickly saw Rumple, Nook, and Lena.

"Lena," Alice cried, running over to her from inside the same cell.

"How did you get here?" Rumple asked them.

"Magic." Leia answered, nonchalantly.

"Where's Regina?" Lyra asked. "And Henry!?"

"The prince or king," Nook said, rolling his eyes, "version of Henry in this land used the author's pen to send him away. And he has his own plans for revenge on Regina."

"He means to kill her!?" Lyra said.

Rumple nodded quietly. "There's nothing we can do. Any magic doesn't work down here in the dungeons."

"But Emma is here. We brought her and the Charmings." Leia said. "If he sees them, they he'll see that he has no reason to hate Regina."

"Well where are they?" Nook asked.

"I don't know." Lyra said.

"Maybe that bean wasn't strong enough to bring all of us here..." Alice thought.

Lena sat with her dad, helping warm up his back. The man was shivereing.

Leia looked over at her sister. "Dark ones don't get cold."

Lyra stared at Rumple, worried. "What happened?"

"The wish Rumple," Lena said, "Uh, took my dad's immortality."

Lyra lowered her eyebrows. "Oh."

"Isn't that a good thing?" Leia whispered to her.
"Shh," Lyra said.

"Isn't that what Rumple was trying to do."

"Get rid of the dagger so that no one could control him." Lyra clarified.

"But if he's not immortal, he has a chance to reunite with Belle and his sons-" Leia said.

"Not today." Lyra said, growing irritated.

Rumple turned to Lena and said a few heartfelt words. "Lena dear," he took her hand, "I have made so many mistakes in my lifetime. I've lost my sons because of it-"

"No, Dad-" Lena tried.

"Your mom struggled to put up with me. Once we had children, it became harder for her to leave me. With you, I tried to be a better man. With all my children I tried. You were the only child of mine who got to be raised by me." He said.

Lena's lips quivered, but she stayed quiet, listening to his words.

"I lost Gideon before I even really got to know him. I lost Bealfire because I chose power of him and when I got him back, I was still a flawed man. I messed up with you too. I succumbed to the darkness once more and you had the dismay of watching it happen. I'm sorry for that Lena." He said.

Lena looked down, facing away from him.

"I hope that you don't dwell on that after I'm gone. I hope you think of me fondly." He looked down at her hands. "I hope you remember me when I was good and how much I loved you and our family."

Lena placed her hand over his. "Of course Dad."

He eyes started crying. "I'm so glad you won't be alone. You'll have your friends. And of course, Alice."

Lena leaped forward and hugged him.

The wish world Rumple let them all out of the Dungeon and into a large room full of books with each of their names on them. Snow, Charming, Emma and Killian were there too, just captured by the wish Rumple before Wish Henry could see them.

Each book in a room was an unhappy ending for each them. They would each be alone and suffering based on their own worst fears. For Lena, she wouldn't be accepted by people around her and she wouldn't find love. The image in the book was Hope rejecting her when she held the truth rock. For Lyra, it was never feeling loved by her family after spending so much time finding them. In the image, she was still sleeping in that shed, and not in the home with her parents. For Emma, it was never believing and never finding her family. For Killian, it was never meeting Emma and falling for her. For Leia, it was never being born. In the image, her parents and sister have a nice family meal while Leia screams at them from outside the house, but no one hears or sees her.

Wish Rumple wanted each of them to go into those awful books, trapped in their own worst fears for all time. He demonstrated this with the Blue Fairy. The book opened up and a portal opened, pulling her inside of it.

Wish Rumple left the room, to avoid being pulled into such unhappy endings. They were locked in the room unable to escape. After a quiet moment, a portal began to open. It was from Alice's book.

"Alice!" Lena cried after her. She reached for her with one hand and placed her other hand firmly on the table. If she reached any farther, she would loose her grip on the table. Their fingers nearly touched each other.

Nook reached over too. He only had one hand to grip the table.

Alice's feet were being lifted up off the ground. The power of the portal grew stronger. He reached out his fake hand for her to grab. Alice shook her head at him, remembering his heart.

"Come on Starfish," He said, calling her by his nickname for her.

Alice reached for his hand and grabbed it. He pulled her towards him to his chest. The portal disappeared and Nook collapsed to the ground.

"Papa!" Alice cried.

"Oh my goodness," Snow said, rushing over to him.

"What happened?" David asked.

Alice sat on her knees, leaning over her dad, which did not help his heart.

"Long story." Lena said.

"Not really." Lyra said. "His heart was cursed. He can't get close to Alice or," she gestured to him.

Nook rolled over to his side, holding his chest and grunting in pain.

"How awful." Snow said. "Is there nothing we can do for him? Surely, there must a cure."

Leia watched Nook on the ground and looked back at her grandparents. She looked back at Lena. "Are you sure the witches couldn't-"

Lena shook her head. She was sitting beside her girlfriend.

"I've already tried that," Alice said. There were tears in her eyes. She grabbed her father's hand and placed her face on it.

"His story can't end like this…" Snow said aloud.

"There's nothing we can do." Lena said.

Leia went over to her grandparents. "It's so weird. I know he's not my dad but it's still awful to see."

"Gothel's dead. Why can't the curse be broken!" Alice whispered to Lena and Nook.

"It's alright." Nook said. "I got to save you from that awful place."

"Until another portal opens." Leia said aloud.

"Leia," Lyra said, shocked that she would say such a thing in this situation.

Rumple watched all this quietly, thinking. Contemplating. Realizing.

Wish Rumple came back into the room to see what was going on. He giggled at Nook on the floor. "Can't say I'm sad. At last, that filthy pirate meets his end." He said.

"Shut up!" Alice shouted at him.

"Hey," Lena said calmly, rubbing Alice's shoulder.

Wish Rumple tilted his head at the two of them. "So my daughter and my worst enemy..." Wish Rumple said. He used his index fingers to point to the two of them.

"She's not your daughter." Rumple said, gritting his teeth. He leaped forward over the table, ready to attack the wish Rumple.

Wish Rumple, armed with magic, used his powers to toss Rumple to the wall. He came crashing down. "Dad!" Lena shouted. She stood up from her spot next to Alice.

"So weak." Wish Rumple taunted him. He turned to Lena, "Honesty, this guy raised you? If you had me to raise you, you'd be unstoppable."

Rumple slowly got up, taking deep breaths from the bash to the wall. His nose was bleeding.

Lena looked at her dad, surprised. She had never seen him look this way before. So human.

"And miserable." Rumple said. "Just like I made Regina miserable." He sat up, still breathing heavily. "You think I'm weak, but you're wrong."

Wish Rumple laughed to himself and started walking towards Lena and Nook dying on the floor.

Lena leaned over Alice and Nook, protecting them from whatever wish Rumple might do. Lyra went over to Nook too to help shield them.

He stepped forward and began the speech he was thinking about in his head. "You're right. I am the Dark One. And so are you." He leaned against the table as he walked closer to the wish Rumple.

Leia and the Charmings stood off to the side, but were still ready if their help was needed.

"And I know all our secrets," Rumple continued in his tired breaths. "Becoming the dark one was the act of a coward."

Wish Rumple had an angry expression on his face as Rumple talked.

Rumple continued to say that he was no longer that man and that the wish version of him still was that coward.

Wish Rumple giggled and asked Rumple what his plan was then. Rumple said that it was to do whatever it takes. Words that the dark one loves to hear. Rumple nearly fell over as he spoke.

Lena faced her dad, looking very scared.

Alice looked over at her friend too. "The guardian is gone. You won't be with Belle or your sons."

The Charmings looked at each other, unable to believe what they were hearing from their version of Rumple.

"I know." Rumple said, holding on to the table with dear life. "But I also know that you don't do the right thingk for a reward." He took a breath. "You do it because it's right."

Lyra put her hand over her mouth in shock.

"Dad?" Lena asked him.

"I am ready to face whatever awaits me." Rumple said. He reached into his chest and pulled out his glowing red heart.

Lena started to cry.

Alice reached her hand out towards Rumple.

"Holy shit," Leia said, still covering her mouth.

Rumple's darkened heart began to blow very bright. Wish Rumple looked very scared, knowing that Rumple was on to something. Something that would stop him.

Rumple put his heart into Nook's chest, saving his life, and ending Rumple's.

Rumple's body fell to the ground, lifeless.

Lena crawled over to him to check. "No!" There was not heartbeat. No pulse. No breath. Lena sobbed into his jacket. "Dad!"

Alice wanted to comfort her but then Nook woke up.

Lyra looked back at Wish Rumple who had turned to ash. He was gone. The villain was defeated, but not without consequence. Not without sacrifice.

Lyra went over to Lena, and held her while she cried over the loss of another parent. Lyra began to cry too, a little. Her friend had lost her parents and her brothers.

Across the land, wish Henry was trying to hunt and kill Regina. Regina tried to reason with him but he wasn't hearing her. She said that she wouldn't hurt him despite his attacks. Finally, right before killing her, he realized that he might be wrong about the Evil Queen. As he lowered his sword, Emma nad Killian found them, Henry looked at his mom confused, 1) by her attire and 2) that she was still here, in this world.

"Henry it's me. The same Emma you knew in this wish world." Emma said.

"I thought Regina kidnapped you?" He said, sounding doubtful as he said it.

"No, I chose to leave because this world isn't my world… even though I created it." Emma said.

Henry put his sword back in the holder. "I'm starting to see more and more how much better your world is. Why did you wish for this?"

Emma chuckled a little. "I was feeling hopeless. Besides, I never meant for this wish to come true."

Henry lead the way back to the castle where Regina, Emma and Killian saw the tragedy for themselves. Emma gasped as the sight of him. She saw her parents and went over to them. Killian looked over at him, confused.
"How is this possible?" Killian asked.

Leia stood near him and answered, "Long story. Can't spoil the future too much but he died to save a version of you."

Killian seemed surprised by this, but hid his expression for Lena's sake. Lena was devastated.

Regina went over to Rumple's body and thanked him for all he did for her and for saving them. She also thanked him for teaching her one last lesson.

Alice and Lyra held Lena while she cried. Alice was in tears too, making it harder for Lyra not to cry.

Rumple was able to reunite with Belle in the afterlife. He was in a bright, cloudy place where Belle called his name. He found her in a beautiful yellow dress. He held her and kissed her. Then Gideon showed up. Rumple's eyes began to water as he hugged the son he barely got to know. Bealfire showed up next, calling his dad "papa" and hugging him. Rumple held his son that he fought so hard to early forgiveness for.

Wish Henry wrote Emma, Killian, and the Charmings went back to Storybrooke in their time. Lyra, Lena, Leia, Alice, Killian, Henry, and Regina went back to the heights. Lena was still crying over her father's death. Alice and Nook stood close to her.

Hope and Will rushed over to them when they all poofed back into town. Lyra told them that Rumple died to save Nook. Hope gasped and hugged Lena in comfort.

Roger heard from a distance and his jaw dropped. He looked like he was in pain, but he didn't make a sound.

Leia noticed that Marnie was still in town. "How long were we gone?"

"Like two hours." Hope said.

Lyra put her hands over her mouth and took a deep breath. She called for a meeting where they stood. She climbed up the troll statue and spoke out to the heights residents. The witches stood near Leia.

"Attention everyone." Lyra began. "I know that we're all so happy that, uh, the curse is over. The villain-s are dead. That should be the end of it. That should be our happily ever after or whatever..." The residents looked puzzled by her words. Where is this going? What's the trouble? She looked out into the audience and saw everyone happy and together. She saw Hope and Will holding hands. Namine and Marnie stood close to each other. The witches had formed their own sisterhood. "I discovered something… weeks ago." Her voice deepened when she said 'ago.' She closed her eyes. "We have to back to the worlds we belong in. Our worlds. Enchanted Forest. Coventry. Twilight Town. Land without magic." The residents began to looked worried. "Or...you'll get sick and die."

Will started at her, looking angry.

Hope on the other hand started sobbing and wrapped her arms around Will.

Marnie looked at Namine, who was vigorously shaking her head.

"And Will," Lyra added, "You have to use that last use of the knife to send everyone home… because you're already home."

Marnie's mom was just a few minutes away when Lyra told them the news. Namine tugged on Marnie's arm, asking her to let her stay with her.

"No." Marni said. "You'll die if you stay here."

"I've been dying since I came to this world." Namine said.

"You need to go back to your world." Marni said. "Just like Lyra said."

"How can it be my destiny to go back to that place? They're just using me for my powers...just like Gothel ended up doing." She started to whisper. "They want to do terrible things with my powers. When they find out my powers are gone, they will kill me."

Marnie seemed to be realizing Namine's point of view.

She saw her mom's car turn the corner. Marnie's heart raced. This was all over now. She held on to Namine's arm. "She's never let you stay."

Namine seemed more calm that Marnie. "Then tell her how important this is. Tell her how much you care about me..."

Marnie's mom pulled up, parking by the sidewalk. She unlocked the car door and waited.

Marnie stared at her room while standing beside Namine.

Her mom rolled down the window of the passenger seat and learned over. "Get. In."

"I will gladly get in the car, as long as Namine can come." Marnie said. She put her hands behind her back. Namine held one of her hands.

Her mom turned the car off. The engine went silent. Marnie knew this wasn't going to be easy.

Other residents stood nearby, like the other witches, Tiana, and Naveen. Across the street, Will and Hope were arguing with Lyra for not telling them sooner.

"You've been awake for weeks!" Will said. "You knew I was awake too-"

"I only realized this because of something Lena said. It's from our story." Lyra said to Will.

"Our?" Hope asked.

"The His Dark Materials books." Lyra clarified. "And once I realized this, I didn't know how to tell you."

"Don't give me that crap," Will said. "We're best friends. We've had worse obstacles than this. How could you not tell me I was destined to die."

Lyra lowered her eyebrows. "Only if you stay in a magical realm-which you're not."

"So I can either be with the ones I love and die or be separated from them for the rest of my life." Will shook his head.

"This is so messed up." Hope said. "There has to be another way. A third option."

"Much like Nook's cursed heart, there wasn't. He was cured because Lena's dad sacrificed himself for them." Lyra explained.

Hope put her hands out. "Hang on. Maryanne's dad. He was a genie from Wonderland-"

"Agrabah, actually." Will said.

"And he lives in this world. He's fine." Hope reminded them.

Lyra nodded slowly. "Yes. And Frankenstien lives in the Enchanted Forest with us, not the land without color. And Henry lived in the wish realm with Cinderella for a long time." She took a deep breath. "They had children, which broke the curse for them."

"Well there you go," Hope said, with a smile on her face. "We just have a child at some point in the future." She looked over at Will.

Lyra looked like she was in pain. "It's not that simple…"
"You just said it was." Will said quietly.

Lyra tried to pull herself together to deliver this news. "Hope, your mother, Regina, was barren. To undo this, she and Robin found a spell to reverse this since it was caused by a potion. The price of that is that the child would carry on that curse."

Hope didn't seem to be catching on, or perhaps she didn't want to hear it.

"You're saying..." Will closed his eyes, "That she's barren."

Lyra nodded, sympathetically at them.

Back across the street, they heard Marnie and her mother arguing. Marnie pulled her arm back, away from her mom. "Mom, I need her. Please."

"I'm not letting a stranger into our house. With two little children at home." Her mom argued.

"She's helped me so much." Marnie said.

"Oh, so she's a witch too?" Her mom asked, in an accusatory way.

"Not anymore." Namine said.

Marnie's mom pointed her finger at Namine. "Stay out of this."

Tiana overheard this and started to walk over to them to intervene. Naveen stopped her. "Woah, woah. Let them handle this." He told her.

Her mom opened the back car door and pushed Marnie inside. She got back in the driver's seat and started the car. Marnie tired to open the car door but her mom locked her door. "Stop it!" Her mom argued. "You are acting like a child."

Marni had silent tears streaming down her face. She closed her eyes and concentrated.

Her mom drove a block away when she noticed Marnie wasn't in the car. She checked her rear-view mirror and found Marnie back with the girl a few blocks away.

Her mom drove back and got out of the car. She huffed loudly.

"Please," Marnie said, with tears going down her face. "She needs me and I need her. I can't lose her."

"Marnie-" Her mom started, sounded very tired.

"I brought her back to life!" Marnie blurted.

The other witches watched the conversation. Leia smiled a little at the news.

Marnie's mom's expression changed. Her face softened and she seemed willing to listen. "What?"

"I was dead." Namine said. "Then she brought be back."

"I remembered something that grandma said and just wanted to save her so badly that it worked." Marnie said.

Her mom finally agreed to let Namine come with them. "Okay. We can talk about this on the car ride home."

"With Namine?" Marnie asked.

Her mom sighed and rubbed her forehead. "We have a futon she can sleep on. But this isn't permanent."

"I know." Namine said.

Marnie and Namine squeezed each other's hands.

Camryn and Alex went over to the girls to wish them farewell and best of luck. Leia waved at them and looked over to Lyra, Will, and Hope across the street. They overheard it too. Namine was going to stay in this land, risking her own life for a chance at happiness.

Marnie's mom drove the car down the block. Many residents waves goodbye to them. Alice was in tears when they passed by. Hope was full on sobbing when they drove by. Her mom seemed very confused by the people of this town. All these people seemed to really be sad that they were leaving. What sort of town in this? What happened while Marnie was here?

Lucy leaned looked up at her parents, "But, she'll die."

"Some people are worth it," Henry said, smiling at his wife and family.

Marnie's mom drove them past the town line, ending their story.
