Urgh, sorry about the wait. I didn't know how to end this chapter and I've been trying to add to it for ages but have just given up and decided to post it as it is.
I hope you all enjoy it xx
THE DIRTY LITTLE SECRET
It took about three seconds for Stefan to kill Dana and I was disgusted by it. I was actually more concerned when Stefan turned his eyes to me and took a predatory step in my direction.
"Ah, ah, not my wife, Stefan. I may be angry at her but you will not eat her."
I shot him a glare when he gave a small clap to Stefan's back. He was finding this amusing. Didn't he realise that he was messing with people's lives here? First, he kills Tyler hoping to transform him into a hybrid and now he's killed two more innocent people.
"It's always nice to see a vampire in his true element," Klaus said when Stefan tore into Chad's neck, dropping him to the floor next to his dead girlfriend.
"Will you shut up? I've had enough of you and your dramatic speeches that no gives a fuck about. We don't need a commentary for everything, Niklaus."
"I'd watch it if I were you, Little Witch. You've made me quite angry."
"Well, I'll just join the queue because I'm sure there's a couple of hundred people that piss you off."
"I'll have you know—"
"Where is it?" Here comes the annoying sister again. "Where's my necklace?"
"What are you talking about?"
"She has my necklace. Look" She handed him a phone, one that I recognized instantly.
"Where's Caroline? What have you done with her?" It seemed I was to be ignored as they both had their attention on Elena. Why did Elena always steal everyone's attention?
"Well, well, more lies."
"Where is it?" Rebekah it seemed was seething, but she could just join the group.
"Look, I don't give a shit about your stupid necklace," I said, stepping in front of Eleana and capturing Rebekah's attention. "What have you done with Caroline?"
"I don't care about her," Rebekah snapped, pushing me out of the way and into Klaus' arms as she stepped towards Elena. "Where is it?"
"I don't have it anymore."
"You're lying."
Why did vampires always feel the need to bite people when they were angry.
"Knock it off!"
"Make her tell me where it is, Nik." She was acting like a child. Actually, I'd seen children act better than her.
"Where's the necklace, sweetheart? Be honest." I really didn't like it when he called other people sweethearts. Was that a jealousy thing?
"I'm telling the truth. Katherine stole it."
Of course, Kitty took it. It was such a Katherine thing to do.
"Katerina. Of course." I guess he was realising the same thing as me. She was always a few steps ahead of us. "Well, that's unfortunate. If we had the necklace it'd make things a whole lot easier for your witch, but since we're doing this the hard way, let's put a clock on it, shall we?" After seeing Klaus during the ritual I knew he could be dramatic but I never fully understood how dramatic he was until now. "Twenty minutes. If Bonnie hasn't found a solution by then I want you to feed again, only this time, I want you to feed on Elena. You know you want to."
"Klaus, don't do this to him."
"No one leaves. If she tries to run, fracture her spine," Klaus said, pointing at Elena as he took my hand and pulled me out of the gym, his sister following behind.
"Why are you taking this one with us?" Rebekah asked, her eyes trailing over me and settling on the hand Klaus had linked with mine.
"Don't pout, Bekah, no need to get jealous. Go and keep an eye on our wolf and don't hurt Caroline." It was sweet of him to protect her, but I had to wonder if he just did it for me and to keep in my good books.
Rebekah huffed as she left us alone and I suddenly wanted her back. With the way Klaus was looking at me I feared for my life.
"I've got a few things I want to say to you, love," he said as he pulled me into an empty classroom and closed the door behind us, blocking my escape.
"Trust me, Niklaus, I have a lot to say to you."
Where to start? Did I just go straight into it and shout at him for killing Tyler or do I take it slow?
"You should have told me you were a werewolf."
"An untriggered one!" I don't know why I kept bringing that up. Maybe to highlight the fact that I had to kill someone to trigger my curse. "I don't intend to kill anyone to trigger my curse for you, Klaus."
"I've been searching for wolves for months and I had one under my nose this whole time."
"Oh, so you were planning on triggering my curse for your selfish, stupid needs? Have you tried to think about what would happen to me if I triggered it? Huh? What could it do to my magic?" And our unborn daughter? "I will never sacrifice my magic, not even to transform into a wolf. Let me make it very clear to you—"
I wasn't too surprised when he cut me off with his lips. It sounded cliché but I felt complete when he pressed his lips to mine, like I'd be missing a part of myself I didn't know about until then.
It was like I was dying of thirst and he was my glass of water. He was the air I needed in my lungs.
It was like Klaus was a man starving as he backed me into the door, his body pressing into me as his teeth tugged on my bottom lip. His hands were tugging on my hair one second and then they were tugging my hips closer to him the next.
And then he was gone and I froze as his hand reached out and he slowly touched my stomach. His face scrunched up in confusion, his head tilted to the side as he listened to what he thought he could hear.
After all the ways of Klaus finding out about our child, I never picture it being like this.
"You're pregnant."
"Yes." I was hesitant to give him any other reply. I didn't know how to react to this.
"Who have you—" I smacked him before he could even finish that sentence.
"I cannot believe you were going to ask me that!" I cried feeling annoyed that I'd let him get me upset. "After what I went through." I shook my head as I wiped my eyes, angry that I'd let myself get upset because of something Klaus would predictably do. I knew he'd say something like that because he didn't even have that belief that he could father a child. "I can understand why you'd say that but you would know if I did that to you, Klaus."
"I know, I'm sorry, I just…" He didn't know what to say and I understood that.
"It's impossible, I know, but it's happened."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Now there was something else for him to get angry at. "Why have you been treating it like a dirty little secret?"
"I tried, trust me." I was not ready to go into detail about that stupid witch.
"Well, clearly you didn't try hard enough. You're obviously seventeen weeks gone considering it was the only time we've had sex." Yes, thank you for bringing that up. "You've had a while to tell me yet you haven't."
"Look, don't go getting all angry at me because some witch has been attacking me every time I tried to tell you about our daughter!"
"A daughter?" Was I mistaken or had his voice softened at the mention of our daughter. "You know it's a girl?"
"My whole bloodline had been females, Klaus. I can guarantee that she'll be born a girl as well."
"Wait, you said a witch?"
"Yes, but that's not important now, let's focus on the fact that you snapped my brother's neck in hopes to transform him into a hybrid even though you don't have a safe way to transform him."
"Well, if you shared that information beforehand then I wouldn't have done it to your brother," he said, bringing me closer to him and lowering his hands to my stomach. It felt strange to have him caress my stomach as if it was the most precious thing to him in the world. "We have a lot to talk about." Yeah, and none of the things on his mind were my brother.
"Take your mind out of the gutter and think about my brother for a second." He didn't seem to be impressed but gave a nod for me to continue. "Do you remember what I said? About trying your blood?"
"I was curious as to why you suggested that, love."
"I have a theory that perhaps it's Elena's blood you need to complete the transition. I didn't mention it before because … well, you know …"
"She's still alive." Yeah, I don't think he was ever going to forgive me for that. "So you think I should use her blood? What a cruel thing for my mother to do."
"I know. She tried to take the only way for you to create hybrids by making you kill her to break your curse." I gave him a sympathetic look and glanced down at his hands that were resting on my stomach. "Promise we'll do better than our parents when we raise her?"
"I guarantee she'll be treated like a princess." I had no doubt he meant it either. "Come now, love, let's go find my doppelganger and that Bennet witch."
"Wait, you don't need Elena, well, I don't think you do," I said, grabbing his hand to stop him from leaving. I shook my head as he rolled his eyes at me. "Just hear me out. When you killed Elena in the sacrifice you drained her completely and her blood made you the hybrid. I think your blood will also finish the transformation. Do you remember I said that before? Can we just try it before you drag her into this?"
"Are you protecting her from me?"
"God, no, you can use her blood for the transition if yours doesn't work, but I'd rather she not be there. She annoys me."
"You're sounding a little cruel there, Little Witch."
"Yeah well, she's called me a whore for falling pregnant with your daughter and she was willing for me to put myself and our baby in danger to bring Stefan home." Well, she didn't know about the baby then, but it doesn't matter.
"I'll deal with that later, but for now, let's grab the Bennett witch and see what she has to say."
"Well, the verdict's in. The Original Witch says the doppelganger should be dead."
"Does that mean we can kill her?" I didn't know why Rebekah hated her so much other than the fact that she supposedly stole her necklace.
"No, I'm fairly certain it means the opposite." I didn't understand why he had to be so dramatic all the time. Perhaps he was bored with living a simple life after having over a thousand years living and now needed to spice things up a bit.
"What?" Even though Rebekah was confused she still grabbed Caroline and pulled her away from Tyler. I gave the Original sister a warning look as I stepped towards my brother.
"Call it a hunch," Klaus said, pulling out a vial that contained Elena's blood. "I've got Elena's blood here ready for you to drink, but first, I've got a test to perform." Again with the dramatics as he bit into his wrist and poured his blood into a beaker. "Drink it."
"No, no, no, no, Tyler don't," Caroline begged, her eyes going huge as she tried to prevent her boyfriend from doing so.
"If he doesn't feed, he'll die anyway, love. Consider this an experiment."
"It's okay, Care, trust me," I said, giving her a small smile as I turned back to Tyler. "It's okay, Ty. You won't be hurting anymore if you do this." I rested a hand on his arm, urging him to drink Klaus' blood.
Reaching out a shaky hand, Tyler took the beaker of Klaus' blood and brought it to his lips. At first, nothing happened and then he dropped to the floor, rolling around in pain.
Did something go wrong? Was I wrong to believe that Klaus' blood would work? Should I have let him drink Elena's blood? I tried to take a step towards him but Klaus prevented me from moving and I turned to glare and him, only to look at him in confusion.
He seemed pleased.
Did that mean it was working?
As if sensing Tyler's big change, Klaus crouched in front of him just as Tyler screamed and he looked up to reveal his new transformed face.
It worked.
Tyler was a hybrid.
