This has more gore in it, also death. You know how my girl is.
I want to apologize for posting this a day late. I just got another job and it's taking up some more of my time.
The plane's engine roared loudly as it carried us through the air. It had been some time since we left the ground. Darkness had sure fallen completely on the people outside by this time. I didn't know how long it was going to take to get there. The only thing I did know was we were heading to North Carolina for a research center.
After about an hour or so, I had sat down on my butt once remembering the soreness in my legs last time. That entire time, my hand had yet to move away from his rim. The contact between us felt nice but at the same time incomplete. It was Sunstreaker. Yes, he was here but wasn't touching me.
At the thought of the nearby mech, my eyes trailed over to him. I couldn't tell much from him besides his boredness. It was oozing off of him and I couldn't blame him. We all were waiting to get to the research center and get that over with. After last time, I wasn't excited or even wanting to do this. The reminder of how fearful the humans looked at me was constantly rolling around inside of my head.
This time though, there wasn't a way I could do it differently. Jasper definitely had super humans there; which meant I would have to kill them for both of our sakes. I couldn't let them return to Jasper or else there will be trouble. That was a fact.
Some more time passed before the humans got up and started to undo the net holding the two. I stood off to the side to let them do their thing and waited for the ramp to lower.
The ramp began to open and wind whipped my brown hair all over the place. Stars had taken over the black sky. This was the perfect time to attack, at least for me. The cover of darkness and my ability to camouflage would leave me invisible to them.
Sides rolled towards the exit and stopped when his front wheels touched the ramp's crease. His brother hugged his back end, just as ready as Sides to get out of this death machine. I glanced between the two and shook my body as if there were water droplets on it. "You ready, Azar?" the red Lamborghini questioned and revved his engine.
"Let's go," I encourage the two to go before me. Sides peeled off of the ramp and transformed moments later to freefall. Sunstreaker followed his twin seconds behind and moved to the side of him. I leaped off after them and drew in my wings to fall even faster.
At this time of the year, it didn't seem too cold for the humans. North Carolina was on the east coast, near Florida but the humidity might be the kicker for the weak creatures. For me though, I loved it.
I turned to have my back towards the ground and search the sky for the two other planes. They were in a staggered diagonal line to the left of our ride. The ramps were also open and humans from both had started jumping. I twirled back around to face the ground and stayed near the twins.
It seemed we didn't have a clearing to land in and had to make our own place to crash through. One thing William forgot, I have a twenty-four foot wing span. That doesn't work well in forest or with trees close together. To be able to get through the cluster, I would have to be flying fast since the space for wing flaps were limited.
Sides was the first drop after releasing his opened parachute. Trees around him cracked and snapped from the sudden force hitting them. I flared my wings at a medium speed and circled around just in time to watch Sunstreaker crash next to the red twin. Even at this height, I could tell he wasn't anywhere pleased.
There wasn't a big enough spot for me to land safely so I had to improvise with danger. Sunstreaker did clear an area that could be deemed okay to do this. I circled once more before heading to the spot and flared my wings a few seconds too late. My claws dug into the top of the tree.
Said plant bent harshly under the sudden weight. My wings pumped to help it from snapping. Thankfully, it didn't but still held itself at an angle. I didn't want to spend any more time messing around and quickly scaled down the tree.
Both of the twins stood at the base looking both worried and shock. "Why did you do that?" Sides was the first to question. His brother plucked me off the tree once I was in reaching distance.
"The trees are too close to land without hitting one. So, I improvised," I answered and stood in the golden bot's hand to be eye level with the two. Sunstreaker turned my chin with his finger to face him instead of Sides. There was a warning look in his eyes as we stared at each other, yet he didn't say anything about the matter.
"Well, that makes sense." He paused, seeming to focus on something else. "Lennox wants us to group up with him a couple hundred yards to the east." I dipped my head and jumped off of Sunstreaker's hand. He didn't look pleased with my actions once more but let me do my thing.
Along the way, we met up with thirty or so soldiers. A few had sticks and pine needles stuck on their body. Sides tried to stifle his giggles but a couple heard and sent glares up at the iron giant. That only seemed to spur on Sides.
Until I heard a noise off in the distance. I flared my wings to gain everyone's attention and stared intently off in the direction. Luckily, they understood the motion and stopped to let me listen.
This sound was different compared to William's soldiers. My extra sense buzzed more loudly this time, putting me more on guard than before. My wings returned to their normal position. I quietly crept towards the noise and waited twenty or so yards away from the troops.
The twins had near silently slid out their blades to ready themselves. William's soldiers had raised their guns as well, waiting for whatever was out there to attack. They probably couldn't even hear it.
By the sound of the footsteps, there were only two. This must meant it was two super humans patrolling the grounds. We had to be careful, or else they'll alert the nearby base of our presences.
I motioned for the troops to continue on without even looking at them. It was best to keep your eye on the target or you might lose an eye. They waited for a few seconds before going on. Of course, the Terror Twins didn't go and stayed with me. I didn't want them to leave in the first place and was relived they didn't listen.
The footsteps started to head towards the large group of humans. They were quiet and swift. I couldn't let them attack them.
My talons gripped into the dirt as I propelled myself forward. Low hanging branches and bush whipped at my scales in a weak attempt to stop me. The trees around turned into tall blurs as I quickened my pace to reach them sooner.
The twins raced after me, yet couldn't keep up due to the trees. They knew they had to keep quiet or they could alert the thing I'm tracking. It was for the best though. From what I've heard, they aren't allowed to hurt or attack humans. These creatures may not be fully human anymore but they still were part of the species.
It didn't take longer than two minutes to spot them through the trees. I padded to a stop and used a tree as cover to watch them. One was part of the creature group at Jasper. The other looked normal but had to have some sort of power since they didn't hold any weapons besides two knives.
They had slowed down to a walk as they trekked through the forest. Once more, my extra sense grew louder in the back of head. Yeah, I can see- the human looking one had stopped and had his partner stopping as well.
Did the human one have superhuman senses? That was one of the common powers to give out. Sometimes it did backfire and dulled their senses instead.
He knelt down and placed a hand to the ground. Huh? Something was going to happen. I let energy surge to my fingers to ready myself for whatever he was going to do.
Nothing did though. The human got back up and started heading towards the soldiers once more. What? His creature partner followed him after scanning the surroundings. This creature looked to be half bear and sure smelled like it too.
Yet, the danger bells ringing didn't go away.
I trailed behind them, holding onto the energy swirl inside of my hands. Something was off about them and I sure didn't like it. That human was the main reason. But w-
Thick, thorny vines wrapped around all of my limbs, including the three extra ones. The spikes dug painfully into my scales and tore through the protection. Immediately, fire encased my entire body and shot down the vines.
They retracted in pain and disappeared into the ground. My eyes found the human looking straight at me with an agonized snarl on his face. So that's why.
His partner charged at me and looked nothing too threatening. The only thing 'scary' about her was the sheer size of her body. Bears are large and the shift made sure she took on the size as well.
More vines snapped at me to distract me from the charging creature. I stomped one of my feet down harshly and sent out a blaze to burn anything within forty feet. The bear continued onward and ignored the embers burning away at her skin. I guess she wasn't backing down to the stronger animal. Oh, she was going to regret that.
The human had sent a vine to wrap around my throat and yank me back. My balance was completely thrown off. I fell roughly onto my wings and cringed at the pain. The vine didn't let go though and started to drag me towards the bear while choking me.
Rage surged through me and fueled the fire building up in my throat. My claws tore at the vine but the plant held on strong.
He commanded more to grab at other limbs as the bear was nearly on top of me. At the last second though, I released the fire in my throat right into her face. She didn't have time to dodge or block the attack.
She reared back and fell onto her back to swat at the burning flames and embers on her skin. I didn't waste a second and relit my body to be covered in fire. It was enough to remove all the vines.
My eyes found the human looking a bit tired and in pain. Good. Icicles surged through the ground and pierced the heart of the bear. She tried to struggle for her life but didn't last longer than five seconds. My mouth now felt dry as I sized up the plant controller human.
We both looked each other up and down before I was the first to attack. Flames sparked within a second to surround him so he couldn't go anywhere. That didn't stop him from sending more thorn vines to restrain me. I didn't let him though and shrunk the fire circle so it would burn him.
His eyes darted around as he focused on more pressing matters. At one point he looked like he was going to jump so I raised the height to double his own.
Through the flames, I could see him freaking out. There wasn't an exit or a way out for him. Then he suddenly settled down and stared at me as the fire consumed his body. I stared for only a moment before my vision tripled. A dizzy spell washing over me right after finishing a battle.
Everything swayed, my body doing its best to correct and stay up right. I fell to the side and landed harshly. All of my wounds jerked and drew a pained his from me. Not here! Why now?!
It took a good few, long moments for it to dissipate. I finally got back to my feet and surveyed my surrounding just in case someone decided to use that moment as an advantage. Nothing. No one in sight. I heaved a sigh and headed towards the soldiers.
I trotted to catch up and felt Sides and Sunstreaker's presences through the connection become stronger. It didn't take long to reach them. They had finally got to William without a scratch, thanks to me.
The twins were first to notice me. Their eyes widened at the sight. Before the battle had even started, I had already acquired a few scratches that were bleeding some. My energy had drained a little but I definitely had enough to go on. My chest rose and fell harshly after extending more body energy then wanted.
William also noticed with a few others of my arrival. He and some others put their hands on their guns ready for an attack. I shook my head to call him off and wiped off a trail of blood on my forehead. He didn't bother to excuse himself before jogging over to me. The twins did the same and kneeled down. "What in the hell happened? I heard you ran off," he questioned and glanced behind me. I breathed heavily through my nose to calm down my oxygen intake.
"Two super humans were patrolling. I found them and took care of them." At the mention of taking care of the two, he froze lightly but nodded his head hesitantly. "They gave me a little trouble but I don't think they alerted anyone."
"Okay, thank you. We are ready to head out whenever you are." I half-heartily glared at him for him thinking so weak of me. He got the message and turned around towards his troops. "We're heading out. Don't get left behind." The major left to lead his group.
I released a huge sigh and glanced up at the two. "Are you okay?" Sides questioned quietly so only the three of us could hear. Instead of showing weakness out on the battle field, I grunted a yes and followed behind the large group.
The thing is danger still buzzed inside of my head, this time near it's loudest. Why hasn't it gone away? I took care of those two super humans. This was starting to get on my nerves at his point. But I knew better than to push it to the side. That's how you get yourself killed.
Jasper's base stood tall and mighty. A threatening feeling rolled off it, a silent warning not enter; to run far, far away before the monsters get you as well. Its concrete walls were a faded light grey from its early days. Cracks forced their way through the hardened rock to create their own homes. Massive lights towered over every soldier and bot, illuminating most of the area around the building.
Eighteen humans could be seen from our position. An unknown amount hiding and guarding on the other side. Seven or so Cons stood on watch. A surprisingly great amount for this kind of base. This rose the question: why were they many here? It made no sense. This was a Jasper base, which Cyrus owned long before join the Decepticons side. The building was on the older side, meaning it wasn't built just for an outpost for Cyrus's new lap dogs.
William's soldier took roost scattered out behind us to lower the chance of being spotted. Our Autobot friends hunkered down behind them. This wasn't the best way to keep out of sight but we were in the shadows. The darkness our friend, concealing us from our allied foes.
The foliage around us provided some cover. It could also lead to our downfall. Branches lay below our feet, a noise maker and alarm setter. The humans had horrible eyesight in the darkness. One wrong step and we'll have the entire base's forces on us, including any superhumans. That wasn't something anyone was looking towards.
My miniature injuries pulled as I snuck my way through the group towards the front where William was. Said man had taken cover behind a boulder as he conversed with eight of his men. When he saw me though, he stopped discussing to greet me. "I'm going in first; I'll draw the super humans' attention and try to take as many down as I can."
"Azar, are you sure? You are already injured and this base is a lot bigger than any others we've faced." My eyes scanned over to the massive building. It had soldiers both human and not crawling all over it. Thankfully we had brought four Cybertronians because it seems like we'll be needing the extra set of hands. There was a lot here to deal with.
A threatening glare was set on the human. Did he serious just say that?! "I'm fine, William. A few scratches aren't enough to take me down." More anger filled my veins and fueled the energy swirling inside of me.
He went to say something but I already camouflaged and was rushing towards the building. My talons dug into the dirt for traction.
The moment before I was going to attack a group of three of super humans', a shot rang out. The creature I was about to attack fell to ground, dead. I stopped to snap my gaze to the sound and found a single human hiding on the clearings edge. What the
All Hell broke loose though. Jasper began to attack. But what caught my eye was more humans start to appear behind the shooter. I didn't get time to stand and stare though. The other two super humans' followed through with the rest of their group.
Another two shots rang out over the noise somehow. I felt one of the bullets whiz by my head and nearly took me out. Instead, it struck the super human behind me. Both of them fell to the ground, dead as well.
A thought came to me, a ridiculous one at that. I only know one person in the entire world with that great of aim.
