"Marks is taken care of. He won't be bothering anybody anytime soon."
"Good. Now, listen. I want these two separated. Americans are weak. If they think something bad is happening to someone they love, even if it is not, they are more likely to give us what we want so we are going to play some mind games here. Bind them both, gag them and take the woman upstairs into one of the many bedrooms. If she begins to come around, give her another shot. But do not harm her until I tell you so. Take the President to the downstairs bedroom and prepare him. Don't do anything with him until I tell you to. I have something special planned for him. Do it! And don't forget to wear your head coverings."
The other six men broke apart and roughly lifted a drugged Jed and Abbey out of their chairs, and followed instructions. Three lifted the unconscious First Lady upstairs to one of the many bedrooms and threw her on the bed. They checked to make sure her bindings and gag was secured and then stood guard around her, waiting for further instructions.
The President was lifted and taken to the master bedroom. There he was strapped to an inclined board, with his head down and feet up. His bindings and gag were also checked and the three men stepped back, waiting on further instructions from the leader.
Agent Abraham, the leader, came in there, and snapped a picture of the unconscious President strapped in such a contraption. He then went upstairs and snapped a picture of the unconscious First Lady on the bed.
Back in the West Wing, Leo looked at his watch. 4 pm. It had been an unusually quiet day because the President was out of town on vacation. Leo had even sent the Senior Staff home early. He knew the long hours they worked so he wanted to give them a break when he could. Even he was considering leaving in the next couple of hours.
"Leo!"
He looked up to see Margaret holding some pieces of paper in her hands. She was almost hyperventilating.
"Calm down, Margaret. What is it?"
Her hands were shaking as she handed him the papers. "These just came through the fax."
He looked through them and got angrier the more he looked at them. The first one was of the First Lady bound and gagged on a bed, obviously unconscious. The second was of a bound and gagged President on some kind of inverted board, again unconscious. Both pictures were timestamped approximately thirty minutes ago It was the third that made him the angriest of all. And the most nervous.
"Now you can see that we can get to anyone we want.
The first FOUR were just the beginning.
Then we got TWO more.
But we never got the most important ONE
We told you we would get the ONE.
We took our time. We planned. We waited.
Now we got our ONE.
In fact, we got TWO for ONE.
In spite of much SS protection.
What we want is Guantanamo empty. By MIDNIGHT tonight.
We have our TWO. But by MIDNIGHT they may be ZERO."
-The Gang of 8
Leo knew these thugs were back and somehow had gotten to the President and First Lady. And he had to initiate action right away.
"Margaret, I'll call the Senior Staff back in, you call Nancy McNally and Ron Butterfield. Tell them there has been an emergency regarding the President and First Lady and tell them to get in here right away. And whatever you do, this does not leave this room. Do you understand me?"
"Yes sir," as she turned to get her orders done.
Leo picked up the phone. "Yes, Switchboard? This is Leo McGarry. I need Emergency recall of Amy Gardner, Sam Seaborn, Toby Zeigler and CJ Cregg and I need them here now."
