"There is no way Naru is Oliver Davis!" Ayako yelled at Monk.
"But you saw that display of insane power! Lin said it was qigong, but I've never seen someone do anything like that using qigong alone. It's got to be the way he controls the ability, not the actual ability itself. Besides, PK is a really unstable thing. And only one person has been documented to use it like that." Monk crossed his arms. "There is no other explanation."
"Then why didn't he look for Masako and Yasu? Naru wouldn't turn his back on them like that!" Ayako defended.
"How can you be so sure?"
Stuttering, the miko shook her head, "I- I just don't think he would do that! He's saved all our asses on these cases we've worked. Hell, he goes out of his way to protect the weakest among us on a regular basis! Mai would have been toast long ago had Naru not stepped in. He fell down that sewer with her, remember? And took the weight of a ceiling on his back for her!"
Monk held up a finger, "Don't you think it's weird he managed both those things relatively unharmed? Lin said there were piles of old concrete and rebar at the bottom of that sewer. How was it that neither Mai or Naru landed on any of it? Naru passed out shortly after too. Kinda like he did the other day. He used the same ability, just on a far smaller scale. And the ceiling, that should have crushed them. Gravity would have dictated that. What if Naru lessened the impact before it landed? And just got lucky that he didn't need medical attention that time?"
In denial, Ayako continued shaking her head, "But he would have looked for the others. Just to know if they were okay… Maybe he never said anything because he knows what happened wasn't good…"
"I guess the only way to know for sure is to confront him."
