Chapter 31th
Doctor Confalone wasn't liking the idea that Marcie was stressing with her baby telling her to slow down. Even though it couldn't be helped with all that has been going on with her husband to have surgery in a few days to replace a left side heart valve.
"What is on your mind, Marcie?" Doctor Confalone needed to get this out into the open.
"Doc, you do know that I have a number of contacts from over the years? When I used to be with the Marines for two years many years ago. I was able to pick up a number of defensive moves in order to protect myself." she said with a deep breath.
"What are you trying to tell me Marcie?" she said with sitting up straighter in the chair trying to understand what she was trying to say to her.
"I wish to go off on my own with some of my friends to search for those actually responsible for my husband's injuries," she said.
"Why don't you ask Director Leon Vance for help in this matter?" Doc will comment...
Shifting further on the couch with Lucy looking up with compassion on her face. "Jethro and I don't trust Director Leon Vance ever since Trent Kort had given Gibbs the file on him. And of late since the suspension, Vance had been involved in some suspicious activities."
"Like what Marcie?" she exclaimed mostly with the question.
"Vance had been giving the orders with those pulling his strings to kill certain agents and evidence that will mostly lead to the Cartel movements, mob, and other criminals."
"And do you have the evidence of all this Marcie?"
"Yeah I do and then some Doctor. And Jethro is holding off until he feels it's necessary to use the evidence to get him out as Director of NCIS and have someone else take over." Marcie needed to say with the information.
"Does your husband wish to take over the position as director instead of working part-time at the academy, gun range as a teacher?"
Marcie petted Lucy's top part of her head needing attention. "No. He never liked working in that position whenever Vance was injured on the job or away on vacation, and including having been abducted. "
"So who are these friends of yours whether or not you're able to go after those having given the order to take out your husband?" Doc said with making a number of notes on her useful yellow pad.
"Friends from the military and when I had been working on different stories for the Washington Post for the last five years," she said with emotion.
"And you think that Leroy Jethro Gibbs is going to let you do this alone with your friends?"
"Of course not Doc! And why I won't be telling him if and when I decide to leave," she exclaimed with needing to get up for a moment to grab another one of her diet colas from the fridge.
Taking a couple of sips before sitting back down on the couch with Lucy looking up into her face with a lick to her cheek. "Feel better with the drink Marcie?"
"Yeah, I do and so much more calming at times for me and this baby inside of my stomach. Do you have anything else to ask me?" she suggested.
"Does Gibbs knows about your checker past with the training?" Doctor Confalone was very much interested in knowing this particular information.
"Sure he knows Doc. I was able to tell him about this just after he had asked me to marry him. Do you happen to know his reaction? My husband laughed at me for not really believing it at first. Until after I had to prove to him with a large file I had hidden in order for him to take a look at from way back."
"And when he read the file, what did he have to say?" Doctor Confalone had taken off her glasses to rub the bridge of her nose.
"He was able to believe it nevertheless. Ever since that time Doc, he was able to respect me better and a number of other emotions and including a great deal of love." she inquired.
"Wow! That is truly amazing! And you're proud of your past Marcie?" she asks calmly.
"Sure I am proud of my past and I won't ever have to change a thing. However, I do know that my husband would change his by not allowing his first wife to testify against Pedro Hernandez. Otherwise, things would be different with their real deaths and not in the Witness Protection Program?"
"I guess you're right Marcie, and Jethro would be safe and sound both mentally and physically?" she contrived with the comment.
"My husband once he gets out of the hospital is going to be needing your help with putting himself back to normal again mentally. He's been having issues with nightmares, unable to sleep at times while getting up to work in the basement on his new boat. I believe he said that he was going to start working on a name for it with needing to get it out into the harbor for a cruise of sorts." she said with anger...
"And what do you think he's going to name the boat?"
"He had told me a few weeks back once his mind is clear to call it "RULE 91" and don't asked me on what exactly it means to him or anyone else?" she said with curiosity.
"Knowing your husband no doubt he had no doubt have come up with some type of a new rule?" Doctor Confalone wrote something down on the pad. While Lucy was getting antsy and needed to get off the couch to head for her water bowl and food left by Marcie.
"Whatever it means I will need to ask him when I see him later for a visit before they are going to get him ready in a few days for the Heart Valve surgery on the left side?"
