AN: I always like how FGO's version of the Fate series and like how different historical figures play in it. If you have a problem with this and the pacing, then I suggest you stop reading because this is how I see things within the story. Anyways enjoy the chapter.
Ch 31 The Lancers of the Forest
'Why am I doing this…is this going to be like the Lostbelts?' Ritsuka was deep in his mind, thinking over what those two has said to him. 'Am I going to be the villain this time again?' he said to himself.
"You're not…" A voice spoke out behind the master.
'Huh?' Ritsuka turns around to a bright light shining brightly behind him.
"This is a world that should exist in the multiverse. A world that is in danger of being pruned away," The voice informed the Final master. "You must rid of the Anomaly before the pruning starts."
Ritsuka remained silent, listening to the voice. "I cannot, I don't want to rid this world-"
"Remember who you are fighting for, Ritsuka Fujimaru." The voice continues, "For they need you to be strong." An image of Mashu and Romani in her arms appeared in the dark, shine brightly for Ritsuka to see.
The Magus looks at the picture of his family, smiling at him giving him a warm feeling inside. "I see." He smiles thinking of them. "I'll do it."
"Thank you, Fujimaru." The voice sounded pleased by his answer. "For you staying convicted, I'll give you a hint on where to look for that man in the fire." It said to the Magus.
"What do you-" A brown coated man with brown hair and a lance in his hand appeared over Jamie's unconscious body in the inferno. "The Servant…" he trails off, unsure what's his class, but pretty sure what class he is.
"Go to the Forbidden Forest, from there seek out the Centaur tribe. You'll find what you need there." The voice gave some valuable information to the Magus.
Ritsuka turns to the side, taking in the information. "The Forbidden Forest…that's where Saber of Sheol said that's where she detected a Servant there." He commented.
"Our time is up, Ritsuka. You'll be awake soon." The voice informed the Magus.
The Magus's eyes widen, looking around where the voice is coming from. "Wait, who are you? Where is your voice coming from?" he asked the voice.
"In due time, for now, continue the new journey you're on." The voice fades as the Magus starts to wake up.
McGonagall and Binns lead all the students back inside the school, upon arriving back inside the students saw two strange men in strange outfits. both have white muggle guns in their hands, their faces were covered by black ski masks.
Jane, Hermione, and Ron were walking to the Nurse's office, hearing that there are injured students inside. Jane huffed down the halls, a bit of a head from the other two in a rush to go to the office. "Jane, wait up!" Ron calls out to the red-haired girl.
"He's not going anywhere, Jane," Hermione shouted at her friend.
"It doesn't matter you guys." Jane retorted back at them; she was clearly worried for her little brother's wellbeing. She couldn't handle another member of her family die like that again.
They arrived at the Nurse's office where they saw students gather in front of the doors. "What's going on here? Who are those two?" Hermione asked, seeing the gathering of students.
Ron shrugs, heading over to see what's the fuss about. "I have not a clue, but I'm willing to check things out there." He told his two friends, following behind him.
"Come on! Why can't we see Harry Potter!" Ginny demanded of the two Chaldean soldiers on why they're not letting people in. "You let Professor Potter and Evans in, what gives!?"
"Yeah!" The rest agrees with the founder of the Harry Potter Fan club.
One soldier sighs, looking at the students. "As I said before unless you're family with the injured then I can't let you in. The Headmaster's orders." He reinformed the entire crowd of what Dumbledore said.
Ginny doesn't like this one bit; she was about to take out her wand when Jane steps in. "How about me? can I go inside?" Jane asked the guard.
The other soldier looked at Jane, seeing the familiarity of Lily Potter. "Are you related with James Jr Potter by any chance?" he asked the young witch, seeing her nodding her head in response. "Very well, you may enter."
Jane looks back at Ron and Hermione, motioning her to go in. "Don't worry, we'll be waiting out here." Ron encourages her to go.
"Just see if both Jamie and the Professor is alright," Hermione added, watching the guards open the doors.
"This is ridiculous! I'm Ginny Weasley, the lover of Harry Potter…" The doors close behind her, hearing Ginny to 'reason' on why she has to go inside to see him.
Jane rolled her eyes before looking ahead, she saw many families with their respective children inside curtains. Each of them, sitting with them either holding their hand or talking with them. "Wow, this looks like a hospital." She commented at the setting looks.
"Excuse me, but what are you-oh, you're Jane Potter correct?" the red-haired girl turns around to a familiar face of her uncle.
"U-Uncle Vernon!?" Jane gasps seeing his face.
"So I do look like Vernon Dursley, director Fujimaru's uncle in your eyes." Goldolf huffed, before smirking. "But I'm clearly handsome than him."
Jane looks to the side, noting that he's not at least similar in personality as him. "Uh-huh, so who are you anyway?"
The Magus open his hand in a handshake. "Goldolf Musik, Vice-director of Ritsuka Fujimaru as for the moment." He said proudly.
"I guess you already know my name, but Jane Potter." Jane shook his hand,
"Now, I'm guessing you're here for your younger sibling," Goldolf concluded, showing her the way. "This is the spot where young James Potter is staying." He opens the curtain revealing James and Lily sitting on the side of Jamie's bed.
Abigail was there too in her father's arms, asleep comfortably in his arms. "Mum, Dad?" Jane walks up to her family.
Both parents turn to see their daughter, standing in front of the private area for them. "Jane, thank Merlin you are safe, I'm happy to hear that McGonagall and Binns were able to get you out of the school in time." Lily smiles at her daughter.
"Well, Lancer and the other two guided us out safely, so the thanks should go to them." Jane motions to the Servants. She looks around seeing just the Healers from St. Mungo's, Madame Pomfrey, and some medical staff assuming from Ritsuka's group. "Speak of Servants, where are they?"
"They're investigating the fire in the dungeons with Kingsley, Tonks, and Moody," James explains to her daughter of their whereabouts. "I have some of them investigate something strange that occurred within the Potion Lab."
Jane looks interested when she heard that from him. "What is it?"
Goldolf cough gaining the family's attention. "I'm sorry, but a young lady such as yourself shouldn't be involved with these types of conversations." He said, not wanting any more heartache for this girl.
"B-But I'm not a child!" Jane turns to the Vernon look alike. "I can handle anything life can throw at me!" She stated her reason to him.
The Magus simply patted the young girl's shoulder, appreciating her conviction to help. "I appreciate your valor, Ms. Potter. But there are most things that a young lady such as yourself shouldn't handle on your own." He explains to her. "Someone like your age should focus on being young and having fun. Not interjecting to matters that are meant for adults, trust me on this." Jane remains silent, letting the Magus's words resonate with her.
"J-Jane?" Everyone looks to see Jamie opening his eyes.
"JAMIE!" The young witch rushes to her brother's side, happy to see him alright.
Goldolf smiles, walking off to supervise the rest of the staff.
Ritsuka opens his eyes, moving them to the side. "You know master, you really do look good in public papers," Ashyia commented, reading the Daily Prophet in his hands.
"What?"
"Let's see…"
The Boy-Who-Lived Lives Once Again!
By Rita Skeeter
It has been difficult for the past months for the Wizarding Community. Our beloved Heroes Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory have shown greatness during the Tri-Wizard Tournament last year with their unforeseen disappearance. And now our savior who defeats You-Know-Who has returned to his rightful home, with some new followers. (See Pages 1 for images)
That's right my dear readers with the Dark Lord have been defeated by our savior once more. Our young celebrity has gained a following too, however, we have no information of what has happened to Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter has no information either. But let's not lose our hopes now, an interesting matter has occurred in the hero's life. (See page 3)
For the women who are attractive to young men, look no further for the hero has returned with an attractive appearance. Many have heard rumors before that the young Potter heir has a wife, those who are wondering what's going on with the fiancé of the young Wizard. A quote was given by the fan-favorite Ginny Weasley.
She said as I quote, "Oh that woman is just a decoy, a woman that I hired with my fiancé to lead enemies astray from yours truly. We have many of them, they're like my servants as well."
A dedicated young witch who wants nothing but to protect her family as I see it. And quite recently, our hero has bravely risked his life to save another's, the savior has really returned.
If you want to know the heads up about our savior, stay tuned for my next paper.
Ashyia threw the paper at his master, letting him read it for himself. "It seems that a young student of yours has decided to take the more dangerous path in getting you to fall for her." He smiles.
Ritsuka placed the paper down, "This is slanderous, I won't have Mashu be treated like that by her anymore! He stated.
"Oho? And what are you going to do about it master?" The Alter Ego asked, getting interested by his master. "Are you going to give her detention? Or maybe-"
The master thought for a moment, before the curtains open to a familiar face. "Ritsuka, you're awake." Neville walks in, happy to see he's fine.
"Neville? What are you doing here, I thought you'll be in the Storm Border." Ritsuka asked the doctor in training. Then it hits him, "Ah Goldolf called you and Berserker in to assist with the injured." He smiles.
Neville rubs his head, chuckling lightly. "Well, yeah. Vice-director Goldolf must trust me a lot to travel all the way from under the lake." He laughs,
"I see well it's good to have you. So did you-"
"No, I didn't." Neville knows what he means. "I was lucky enough that I didn't encounter my doppelganger just yet, Ritsuka." He chuckles slightly.
Ritsuka chuckles at Neville's comment. Ashyia coughs, stopping the peaceful moment between mentor and protégé, "Pardon me master, but we have two important matters to discuss."
"You're right Alter Ego," Ritsuka knows that already, "That fire is no coincidence, someone must've set Professor Fawey up." He concluded seeing the guilty expression on her face before.
Ashyia nodded, also to suspect someone else's doing with the fire. "Well it wasn't the Toad, she's too simple-minded. I've been keeping tabs on her, she's nothing more but a lapdog for the Minister with her own desires to achieve." He reported what's his findings.
Neville listens in to this conversation, "Maybe it's someone we less expected?"
"How so?" Ritsuka asked, Neville, has piqued his interest.
"Well, it has to be someone who's interested with you exclusively." Neville stated, "But there's a lot of potential suspects on who has eyes on you." he explains to his mentor figure.
Ritsuka sighs, rubbing the back of his head. "We now have to keep a close eye on everyone, for now, we're heading back inside the forest." He said to his allies.
"Why? Oh, that Rogue Servant." Neville understood what he means by that,
"Yes, however, I only got a glimpse of him before…that incident." Ritsuka still retains those boggarts take the form of the two people he still holds regrets for.
Ashyia eyes his master, worrying that the incident has a toll on him. "Master, how are you feeling? Those creatures take the form of anything you regret or fear, is it wise to go now after reliving a trauma like that?" Out of his actions so far, he still cares for his master.
Ritsuka waved his hand, indicating its fine. "You have nothing to worry about, Alter Ego." He began to pull off the blankets, putting his shoes on.
"Um, Ritsuka. You mustn't get out so quickly." Neville urges him to stay put to get some more rest. "Berserker will have your head if you leave without being dismissed,"
The Magus just smirks, already deciding on his action are for the moment. "You're not changing your mind no matter what, aren't you?" Neville sighs, getting a feeling that was the case.
"Better get used to it, Mr. Longbottom. This is how master is." Ashyia chuckles.
Ritsuka shook his head before going to the next curtain. The Potters look at who was standing in front of the curtain after hearing it slide open. "Ritsuka," Lily stood up, walking over to him.
"Hello, Lily I see Jamie is looking better now." Ritsuka smiles at the young Gryffindor.
Jamie sat up, smiling at the person who he assumed saved him. "Yeah, thank you for saving me Ritsuka." He thanked the Magus.
"No, it was your father who brought you out safe." Ritsuka explains to his 'brother'. Jamie looks at his dad before looking back at him.
"I know, but you were the one who convinced him to come with you," Jamie said, appreciating the people who save him.
James sniffs at the words his son said. "Oh, Jamie." He softly cried tears of joy.
Abigail just looks at her father, wondering why he's crying.
Jane looks to the side, pondering what's she's going to say. "So, Ritsuka what are you doing here? I know by the looks of it you're not only here to check on Jamie." Ritsuka's eyes widen, seeing what his 'mother' just said.
"Y-Yes, it's true I wanted to check on him, but I too want to know if he remembers anything from that fire." Ritsuka explains to his 'family' before he was incapacitated by the boggarts, he saw a man standing before Jamie's unconscious body.
"Wait, there was a stranger over my son's body!?" James exclaims, already thinking that person might cause that fire.
Jamie looks at his father, shaking his head. "D-Dad, that's not what happened." He remembers vividly the situation.
"Then what is Jamie?" Lily asked her son, feeling concerned about the worrying information she just now heard about.
Jamie looks to the side before answering. "Well…"
Flashback
"(Cough, cough)" Jamie was coughing, smoke has covered the entire laboratory. The fire has spread through everywhere that his eyes could see. "Where is the (Cough) exit?" he said to himself, searching desperately for a way to escape.
The young boy soon found a door, wide open before him. "Ah! An exit, finally I ca-" an explosion came next to him, knocking him through the crumbling wall.
"What jus (Cough) happ-GAHHH!" Jamie looks down, seeing his legs all burned and broken. "DAMNIT! (Cough)" He coughs, feeling the air already thinning in the area.
The boy smiles, thinking this was the end of his life. 'Is this how my life ends? Heh, it's not how I imagine it but at least it's a 'blaze' of glory.' He chuckles before coughing due to the smoke.
Jamie's eyes were slowly closing, accepting his fate when he saw a faint glow before him. "A young child such as you shouldn't die in a place like this." He looks up to a browned-haired man with a spear in his hand.
"W-Wh-"
"Rest young one." The man points his lance at the boy and said some words, nonaudible for him to pick up except for one. "…Lux Sanitatem." A soft light engulfed his body, healing all his wounds, repairing his legs, and clearing all the smoke within his lungs.
Jamie looks up at the man, turning behind him before disappearing before his eyes.
End Flashback
"Lux what?" James questions the strange words his son said.
Jamie shrugs not getting what it means either. "I do not know but that's what the man said and heals me from my injuries." He said remembering the man who helps him.
Lily and Jane look at Ritsuka for any input in this conversation. "I have no idea what that means, but it's Latin for light healing." He commented, pretending he doesn't know. However, he believes it's a Noble Phantasm at work.
James slumps back in his chair, sighing that even Ritsuka doesn't know. "So what now?"
"I'm going to investigate on the man Jamie has to describe," Ritsuka announced to his family.
Lily nodded, understanding what he must do. "I see, do you need any help with your investigation?" She asked, wanting to help wherever she can.
Ritsuka was about to say something when he thought of something else. "Maybe you can," He smiles. "I'll meet you in your office before I start to investigate." He walks away.
"Oh, um okay." Lily blinks confused at what just happen.
Neville enters the tent, with a clipboard. "Alright, my next patient is here. So I will do a final check-up on you before I dismiss you." The Potters blinks at the other Neville entering the tent.
"Neville? What are you-"
The young doctor blinks at the shock and speechless expression from his family's friends. "Oh…right, you haven't met me yet." Neville slightly chuckles at the awkward situation. "Well, I'm Neville Longbottom, the doppelganger of your Neville. Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Potter." He tries to hide his nervousness from them.
"Um…hello, again Neville." James let out an awkward laugh.
Jane felt a little bit uncomfortable knowing this wasn't the Neville she knows. She looks over to see where Ritsuka went and saw him putting a soldier uniform with a mask and went out of the area. "Mum, I will be with Ritsuka for the moment." She rushes over, following the Magus.
"Alright honey," Lily turns her attention back to Neville going over Jamie's stats.
Jane followed Ritsuka out the door, she was careful not to gain the attention of the crowd. "COME ON! JUST LET ME INSIDE TO SEE MY BELOVED!" Ginny still making a ruckus in front of the door.
The red-haired girl manages to slip through the crowd and caught up to Ritsuka. "Ritsuka!"
The Magus turns around, surprised to see his 'sister' caught up to him. "Jane, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with your family?" He asked the young witch.
"Yeah, but I want to speak with you about something important." Jane looks to the side, "Well it's both Ron and Hermione's idea." She admitted to him.
Ritsuka crosses his arms, deciding to entertain her. "Alright, shoot," Jane explains to him about him joining the small group they formed and was hoping he would teach them a thing or two about defense.
"And that's what we wanted to ask you, so can-"
The black-haired man held out his hand making the witch stop. "I'm not supposed to allow this, however, I'm will to see what you're made of," Ritsuka stated.
"Does that mean-"
"I will be sending experts that I trust to evaluate your 'club'," Ritsuka informed the young girl. "Until then, make sure you do your homework of the Mesoamerican Age of Gods with Hinako. When I come back, we'll be going to the Age of Fairies when I return." He turns around heading to meet up with two Servants that he call for.
"Wait, where are you going?" Jane asked her 'brother'.
Ritsuka smirks at her, placing a finger on his lips. "That's classified." He walks off back to the classroom.
Forbidden Forest October 5th, 1995, 8:00 AM
Magorian and a few Centaurs were gathering water from a nearby river. "Woah!" The Chief of the Centaurs jumps, seeing a couple of children go into the river playing. "Careful young ones, you might get yourselves injured."
"We will!"
"Children, always the light of an adult's world." Lancer walks up to the Chief, his lance was over his shoulder smiling at the young ones near the river.
Firenze chuckles walking over to their tribe's friend. "Lancer, you're back from wherever you were." He patted the Servant's back.
"Well, duty calls when as a Servant when something in the air feels wrong." Lancer jokes with the Centaur. "In any case, is there anything I could help you with here?"
Magorian trots over, placing to pals of water on each end of his Divine Lance. "How about assisting us with caring our water supply back to the tribe." He smirks, appreciating his willingness to help around.
"Ah, you were just waiting to show up on time so you can unhauled everything on me." Lancer eyes the Centaur, giving a fun smirk at him.
The Centaurs laugh at the little joke the Lancer gave. "Guilty as charged, Lancer of Christianity. You're always fun to joke around my friend." Magorian laughs.
The Lancer smiles before flying up, avoiding the children charging at him. "Hey, kids. Be careful I got some water here that would be a waste if I drop it on the ground. This is your drinks for dinner tonight." The Servant smiles at the children, trotting around bellow him.
"Lancer! You're so funny." A child said, reaching out to him.
"Yeah, you're funny Lancer. How can someone like you be so funny!" Another child laughs, reaches out to him.
Lancer chuckles at the children reaching out to him. "Am I that funny? Well, maybe a trick will see otherwise." He spun his lance from his back before throwing in the air with the buckets still attached.
They all see in awe, watching the water falls out of the pals. "Ooo…" Lancer flies up, grabbing his lancer spinning it around. He grabs both the pal handles at each end and drops down on the ground.
The water soon falls inside as Lancer gave a cool smirk. "How's that, my little friends?" he asked them, receiving applause from them.
"SO COOL!" all the children exclaims, after seeing his trick.
"Can you teach us that!?" One child asked, wanting to know how to do it.
Lancer ruffles his hair, "Well maybe when you're older." He chuckles.
Magorian trots over, clapping his hands. "Very entertaining Lancer. Not only the children are entertained, but us as well," He complimented the Servant.
"Thank you, Chief Magorian. That's kind of you." Lancer blushed and the praises.
"Yes, that was entertaining Lancer of Christianity." Everyone turns around seeing a bronze-haired man in Japanese-style clothing with a spear in his hand.
Lancer drops the pal buckets and goes into his battle position. "Who are you?" Firenze took out his sword, ready to defend the children.
Magorian brought the children behind him, taking out his bow and arrows. "Identify yourself immediately!" he demanded of the stranger.
"Chief Magorian, he's a Servant like me," Lancer informed the Centaur of what he is. "By the looks of it, a Lancer Class Servant." He said, readying his lance.
The Centaur Chief looks at his new friend at the information just now. "A Servant!? So he's one of you Lancer?"
"Not quite, since you're a Servant of Humanity sent by the Counter Force, I have a duty to eliminate you, Lancer." The stranger proclaims to his opponents. "Oh forgive me, I am Lancer of Melromarc. A Servant of my master who wants all Servants of Humanity to be destroyed."
Lancer looks back at the children, frightened by the stranger before them. "(Chief Magorian, you cannot handle a Servant, only I can.)" He said to the Chief.
Magorian looks at the Servant, shocked to hear that from him. "What are you suggesting Lancer? Are you telling us to surrender!?" He said outrage that he suggest such a thing.
"(No, I was merely suggesting that you take the children and head back to the tribe.)" Lancer explains to him thoroughly. "(Think of their safety.)" he urges him to take this chance.
The Centaur looks back at his tribe then back to Lancer. "Very well, Lancer of Christianity." He turns to his tribe and raises his bow. "EVERYONE, RETREAT TO THE TRIBE!" Everyone obliges and gallops away from the two Servants.
Lancer looks at Yukimura, just standing there before him. "Thank you, Lancer, for doing that." Yukimura thanked the Servant. "If it were up to me then I would join you. but-"
"You were summoned as Humanity's enemy." Lancer sighs, feeling bad for the hero. "Well as Humanity's Servant, I swear to free you from your master's contract." He lunges forward, spear tip glowing a bright light.
Yukimura smiles, feeling the urge to fight once more pile within him. "You may try, Lancer of Christianity." The Hero raises his lance, Watchers, and copies of Saber of Edens appeared before him. Yukimura lunges forward as well, his lance bursting into flames as their weapons interlock.
Ritsuka looks out of the window in his Arctic Region Chaldea Uniform, feeling a surge of Magical energy from the forest. "I got a bad feeling about this."
AN: How do you like it? I will be posting a poll for the next lesson chapter down below. I will be doing three lessons based on the poll numbers, Merlin will be near the end of the Age of Fairies section. Please leave a comment or review.
