"Did anyone get the team's away kit?" Paul asked in amusement while he was looking at the others who were in the store at the Celta Vigo stadium.

"I don't think so," Skye commented with a smile.

"Did you think anyone would?" Beckett asked.

"Not really, but I thought perhaps someone would want to be different," Paul said.

"But not you?" Skye asked. She laughed with Beckett as the singer was exaggeratedly blustering before he shook his head. When he'd walked away from them, she turned to her friend and said, "Have you done this before?"

"No, neither have I back home," Beckett replied. "You have though."

"Back home, Everton and Real Madrid way back in Dodger Stadium," Skye answered. "Mary and I went on our own since Marie and Kath were still young."

"Real Madrid?" Castle asked, having walked up to the two women.

"Natch," Skye said. She smiled when the two looked at her and said, "I'm aware of the word. So you're set?"

"Looks like Mary is too," Castle told her.

"Then bye-bye," Skye said jokingly.

Shaking her head as she smiled at her friend's tone, Beckett turned to her husband and saw he was holding the baby blue colored jersey she'd picked out to her. "Thank you," she said as she took it. She slipped it on and then asked, "The girls'?"

"They have them, they're changing right now," Castle answered. He was startled for a moment when his wife held her hand out to him and said, "Oh." He then hurried to take off his glasses and gave them to her before he pulled on his jersey saying, "How do I look?"

"Fabulous," Beckett said.

"Now you're just lying to me," Castle said teasingly. He leaned down and kissed her lovingly before he pulled away and said, "Thanks," taking back his glasses.

"You're welcome, you do look nice though," Beckett told him, her husband wearing a black patterned shirt underneath though the jersey was covering it completely.

Castle brushed his lips to hers again before he walked with her to the other members of their family, seeing that nearly everyone was wearing their jerseys. "Are you sure Mother?" he asked her.

"Very sure," Martha said firmly. "I'll enjoy the game though, don't worry."

"Speaking of which," Beckett told them. "Let's get into the stadium so Josie can eat her dinner before she needs to sleep." She took the baby from her father and put her on her hip before she kissed her. "You look very pretty in your shirt sweetie," she told her as they were leaving the store to head to their seats.

"Mama," Josie said with a smile.

Nuzzling her nose to the baby's, Beckett told her, "That's right, and I hope you'll like your jersey to wear it once we're back at home."

"Ah… mo wa," Josie was saying.

"We'll be in the water tomorrow," Castle said.

"Will we be able to swim?" Julia asked. She wasn't surprised when her parents couldn't respond to that as they were being led into the seating, but she turned to her parents to ask them once they were sitting.

"We will," Castle said first.

"Skye talked to the captain," Beckett continued. "And she said we can stop in the morning before we keep going the rest of the way."

Nodding, Julia then watched her mother ordering some food for Josie while Brad was doing the same for Sophie down their row. She then sat back and looked at Paul saying, "This is a nice stadium."

"I'm surprised," Paul said.

"Jim told us that it wouldn't be the same as the one in Bilbao," Mari was saying.

"She's right, he thought we would be disappointed but I don't care," Julia said.

"Good thing," Paul told her before he turned to his wife.

"I wonder how come we have to wait for our dinner," Mari was whispering to her friend when she was turning to her.

Julia was about to reply to that; as she'd been wondering the same and she was hungry after the rest of their day at the beach; when her mother got her attention on the other side of Mari and spoke to them both about the meal with a smile.

"We'll eat once the game starts," Beckett said. "Can you guys wait?"

"Yeah," Mari said first. "At least we have the game to watch," she then directed to her friend.

Nodding, Julia looked back down at the field and seeing the time she said, "And there's not too much time until it starts." She was going to say more when the announcer began speaking and she shared an excited smile with Mari before they looked down at the field to cheer as the players were announced. When that was finished, she looked at her mother and asked, "Like baseball?"

"Close," Beckett said, smiling back at her daughter as she knew Julia was teasing. She looked down at the field, seeing the players were getting ready to begin before the ref blew the whistle and Vigo kicked the ball forward. She had Josie on her lap and though the baby had the headphones on she was watching the players running across the grass. As they were watching the first fifteen minutes, she eventually got Josie's food and helped her to eat her tortilla, cheese and bread before the rest of them were getting their bocadillos.

"Are you okay to eat?" Castle asked his wife, watching her with her sandwich that had chorizo and cheese.

"I am," Beckett said, though she needed to eat with one hand. She was careful, trying to avoid getting any crumbs on Josie's head before she was finishing at the end of the first half. She then looked at her daughter as Eliza walked down the row to her seat and she asked, "Hello sweetie, are you having fun?"

The little girl nodded and then asked, "What about you?"

"I am," Beckett replied. "You didn't think I would?"

"I thought so," Eliza replied quickly. "But what about you Daddy?"

Laughing, as he wasn't surprised the little girl was so serious, Castle told her, "Don't worry, I definitely am. But you need to head back to your seat."

"Why?" Eliza asked with a slight frown.

"Because it looks like Fleur and Iris want to talk to you," Castle explained. He smiled as the little girl was turned to look down their row and hurried back to where she had been sitting in between the two girls. He turned to his wife and asked, "Is she falling asleep?" looking down at Josie who was leaning against her.

"She is," Beckett said. She smiled when Castle leaned over immediately and kissed the top of Josie's head before she said, "Would you want to take her at all?"

"That's okay, she looks like she's comfortable," Castle said quickly. He then leaned over and shared a brief kiss with his wife before he told her, "And as long those headphones help her then she'll stay there."

Beckett laughed softly at her husband's tone before she told him, "She will," before they were looking at the field together to allow their baby girl to sleep. Just before the second half started, she was relieved to see Josie was sleeping and she watched the game, wondering if either team was going to score. But as she held her youngest in her arms, she found she didn't really care about that while their group was cheering the home team together.

Watching Skye strumming on her guitar, Paul asked, "Going to play anything?"

"I had the idea to," the investigator said. "But I feel a bit bad doing so without the kids here."

"I can film it," Castle said.

"He's right," Beckett said. "We can always show them tomorrow in Madrid."

"Alright," Skye said slowly. She then smiled and said, "I hope you won't mind that I'm going to finish my sherry first." She took another sip and then said to the others, "I also hope no one minds the score."

"A zero-zero tie isn't that bad," Brad said first.

"He's right, and it was a friendly at least," David added. "So no one's worrying about standings."

"Wait for the end of the month," Beckett said in amusement before she turned her attention to her sherry. She noticed the investigator was finishing her drink and was about to ask if she was going to sing when Skye was speaking hurriedly as she took off her acoustic guitar.

"I'd like to grab my other guitar," the investigator was saying as she got up to grab her Fender guitar. "Better sound for this," she said with a smile as she plugged it into an amp. She was looking over at her wife and was surprised when she rushed up to her before they were whispering to each other quickly. "Yeah, fantastic," she said with a smile when they'd stopped. "Anyway, I'll start now."

When Skye was immediately starting to sing with the music, Beckett was startled but she knew the song as soon as she began, and she looked over at her husband to make sure he was filming as she knew Julia would want to see the performance the next day.

I don't want my freedom
There's no reason for living with a broken heart

Skye was smiling as the others were cheering her vocals; including her wife; and she turned her attention to the next verse as she was singing again, Mary joining her.

This is a tricky situation
I've only got myself to blame
It's just a simple fact of life
It can happen to anyone

Hearing Skye's vocals on the last lyric of that verse, Beckett felt a sudden chill go through her before she looked over to her right. She wasn't sure why she had instinctually done that, but when she turned back to the investigator, she discovered Skye was doing the same. She was about to say something when the investigator smiled at her and she listened to her continuing to sing, knowing she was enjoying it by how much effort she put into the lyrics.

You win you lose
It's a chance you have to take with love
Oh yeah, I fell in love
But now you say it's over and I'm falling apart

Mary squeezed her wife's hand as the others were applauding Skye's playing in between that lyric and the chorus and she sang the latter with her, both staring at each other.

Watching the two women, Castle leaned over and murmured to his wife, "They've done that before." Seeing Beckett nodding in agreement, he smiled and then turned his attention to his phone to make sure he was still filming them.

Yeah, yeah it's a hard life
To be true lovers together
To love and live forever in each other's hearts
It's a long hard fight
To learn to care for each other
To trust in one another right from the start
When you're in love

Playing on her own as they waited to get to the next verse, Skye smiled at Paul, seeing he was doing so as well and she then said, "Going to sing with?"

"No, you're just fine on your own," the singer replied.

Since she had only asked him that to pass the time, Skye was turning her attention back to the song, singing on her own.

I try and mend the broken pieces
I try to fight back the tears
They say it's just a state of mind
But it happens to everyone

How it hurts (yeah) deep inside (oh yeah)
When your love has cut you down to size
Life is tough on your own
Now I'm waiting for something to fall from the skies
I'm waiting for love

Hearing how intense Skye was making her voice at the end, Beckett was impressed by that along with her guitar playing though she was shaking herself to listen to the way the two women sang the chorus together.

Yes, it's a hard life
Two lovers together
To love and live forever in each other's hearts
It's a long hard fight
To lean to care for each other
To trust in one another right from the start
When you're in love

Skye was playing her guitar at the start of the instrumental there, calmly at first before she was playing harder as Brian May had. She smiled at her wife briefly when she was soon vocalizing as had been done in the song before they sang together yet again.

Yeah, it's a hard life
In a world that's filled with sorrow
There are people searching for love in every way

It's a long hard fight
But I'll always live for tomorrow
I'll look back on myself and say I did it for love
Yes, I did it for love oh I did it for love

"Julia's going to love seeing that," Castle commented with a smile when he had stopped filming.

"What's the second song?" Beckett then asked.

"You don't know me," Skye shot back immediately in amusement before they were laughing. She was going to tell her friend the name of the song when her wife was suddenly doing so for her.

"I asked her to sing Cool Cat," Mary said with a smile.

"Isn't it really both of you singing?" Rebecca asked.

"Not this one," Skye said wryly. She then laughed softly as her wife playfully pushed at her shoulder and then said, "She likes me on my own with it but grá, I'll have to beg you to join me."

"Okay, okay," Mary said finally. "I guess it's better I do that."

"Oh no," Darnley said with an exaggerated groan. "You start getting all romantic, don't you?"

"No," Skye said, making a face at the carpenter. She then laughed as Darnley threw his balled-up napkin in his hand at her before she told the others, "Okay so maybe we'll kiss a few times but that's it."

"She's right, it's strictly about the music," Mary said before her wife was suddenly asking her about the song.

"You are singing with me, right grá?" Skye asked.

Laughing, Mary squeezed her wife's arm and said, "I will, let's start before we spend the rest of the night out here."

"That would be interesting," Nkosi said.

"And our kids would never forgive us," Lily commented.

"Very true," Nkosi said with a slight laugh.

"Alright," Skye was saying after she had tuned her guitar. "Gonna play you a smooth bit of air right now."

"Get on with it grá," Mary said jokingly as she had been getting the bass guitar she'd gotten from the crew member on the ship ready.

"Here's Cool Cat," Skye said, smiling at her wife before they started to play together until she started the first verse.

Ooh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
You're taking all the sunshine away
Making out like you're the main line (I knew that)
'Cause you're a cool cat
Tapping on the toe with a new hat
Ooh just cruising
Driving along like the swing king
Feeling the beat of my heart huh!
Feeling the beat of my heart

Hearing Skye's vocals, Beckett shared a look with her husband in surprise at how she was able to nearly match Freddie Mercury's in the recording of the song. And she was soon thinking the same about Mary, though the doctor was taking the backing vocals as they were singing together that time.

Ooh you're a cool cat
Coming on strong with all the chit chat
Ooh you're alright
Hanging out and stealing all the limelight
Ooh messing with the beat of my heart
Ooh messing with the beat of my heart yeah!

Ooh you used to be a mean kid
Ooh making such a deal of life
Ooh you were wishing and hoping and waiting
To really hit the big time
But did it happen? Happen no!
You're speeding too fast slow down
Slow down you'd better slow down slow down

Since they were playing the instrumental, Skye leaned over a little to her wife and said, "What do you think?"

"Yes, it was better together," Mary replied, rolling her eyes though she was focusing on the chords shortly after that since she had only played the bass on the song once. She didn't mind though, since she had always thought her wife played lead guitar on it very well and she smiled while Skye was singing again though she had to make sure she joined in as her vocals were needed too with the last of the song.

You really know how to set the mood
And you really get inside the groove
Cool cat tapping on the toe with a new hat
Ooh just cruising
Driving along like the swing king
Feeling the beat of my heart
Feeling the beat of my heart yeah!
Feeling the beat of my heart
Can you feel it?
Feeling the beat of my heart
Feeling the beat of my heart
Ooh feeling, feeling, feeling
Feeling ev'ry feeling

Hearing footsteps coming down the deck, Beckett turned to find that it was Skye and she stood up saying, "Over here."

"I see you," the investigator replied. "Where's your husband?"

"Inside taking a shower," Beckett replied. "Sorry about pulling you away from your cabin."

"I wouldn't worry about it, Mary and I are going to straight to bed once I'm back," Skye replied, sitting down next to her.

"Rick and I will once he's finished," Beckett said. She was nearly going to ask her friend about what had happened during the first song she had sung when the investigator was talking about it first.

"I'm assuming you asked me up here regarding what happened before," Skye commented.

"It is, and were we the only ones that did?" Beckett asked.

"Yes," Skye said simply. She then shifted and told her friend, "Freddie was there at the beginning."

"Just then?" Beckett asked her in surprise.

With a quick nod Skye then continued telling her, "He was, but I needed to sing so I suppose he didn't stay where we would notice like we did."

Beckett found she was ready to change the subject and then said, "You did a great job with the vocals of the second song."

"Thank you," Skye replied, smiling. "It's not easy since it's not my natural range but I don't mind it."

"Because Mary loves it?" Beckett asked.

"Partially," Skye said simply. She then smiled again and told her friend, "I guess I should just explain, we were listening to the album and when that song came on she asked if I could play it and eventually if I could sing it."

"How far into your relationship was it?" Beckett asked.

"About four months," Skye replied. "And she was very pushy."

"And you loved it," Beckett told her.

"That's true," Skye said before they were laughing together. When they'd stopped, she stood and said, "I better go. We're getting up early again."

"I know, I better go see if Rick is finished since I want to go to bed too," Beckett told her. She shared a quick hug with Skye and said, "Night."

"Good night, we'll see you tomorrow," the investigator replied with a smile before she left, walking hurriedly down the deck to the nearest staircase.

Walking inside her cabin, Beckett saw the door to her husband's bathroom was opening and she said, "Are you finished?"

"Yeah," Castle said, looking up from putting his glasses on. "Tired?"

"Not exactly," Beckett said. "I'd like to go to bed though since we need to be ready to go once we're docked."

"Sure," Castle said. When he saw the look his wife was giving him he said, "Yeah, sorry about that."

"You don't want to go to bed yet do you?" Beckett asked him with a smile.

"Yes, I do," Castle replied.

"Rick," Beckett said firmly.

"No, I'm fine with going to bed," Castle told her quickly. "But I'd like to wait until we sleep."

"That's what I was thinking myself," Beckett replied. She was smiling again, that time because her husband was looking at her in surprise, and then told him, "Come on, we're wasting time."

Castle nodded swiftly before he was moving to follow her to the bed until they stopped at the side of it before he grabbed her arm and stopped her. Making her look to him, he leaned down to her to kiss her gently on the lips before he pulled back and looked into her eyes. Seeing she wasn't about to protest, he leaned down to her again, kissing her harder that time. He wrapped both of his arms around her tightly before he felt hers going around his neck. They were kissing passionately, and he was clutching at her harder before they were soon slowly pulling away. "I couldn't resist," he told his wife as soon as he'd gotten breath back.

"I didn't mind, so it didn't really matter," Beckett replied. She pulled him down to her before they kissed again, but gentler than before. She took her robe off when they'd finished and she handed it to her husband, watching him putting it on his nightstand before he was taking off his own.

"What did you want to do before we have to go to bed?" Castle asked her. He was startled when his wife cupped his cheek with her hand before he moved to hurriedly kiss her. When they were apart again, he said, "Are you sure?"

"No," Beckett replied with a smile. "I know we need to go to sleep."

"A memory?" Castle asked. When his wife nodded, he was smiling before he said, "Any particular one?"

"Not really, but when we were kids still," Beckett replied.

Castle looked out the windows that were opposite their bed for a moment, thinking of that time period when he stopped and smiled at his wife telling her, "I think I have something. A Sunday in 1913 but I'll skip over Mass which we went to as usual."

"Luckily Mom wasn't a big believer in not doing anything on Sundays; just not heavy work," Beckett said.

"I was thinking the same thing," Castle replied. "Can you imagine having to be like the… grandfather or great-grandfather in the Laura Ingalls Wilder book? Not even allowed to get up from a chair?"

"I think they both had to do that back in Ireland when they were kids," Beckett replied. "And they wanted to chance to move around and go places since they had to work of course."

"Of course," Castle replied. "Okay, I was fourteen and you were thirteen and I was settled in more with your family though of course I never thought of myself as your sibling."

"Of course," Beckett echoed him. She smiled and then asked, "When was it?"

"October… the nineteenth," Castle said slowly as he was doing his best to recall. "And this starts after we got back from Mass and your brother and I ran to the kitchen."

"Boys!" Johanna called to them. "Boys don't be grabbin' food with your grubby hands; you need to wash them first."

"We will Ma," Junior called back to her. He and his friend went to the sink and hurried to wash their hands before they went to the counter where his mother had cut some cheese and bread for when they returned.

"Easy boys," Jim said, walking in. "We'll be having dinner soon enough."

"Not quite yet love," Johanna said as she walked to the sink.

"We're gonna go play stickball Ma," Junior said after he'd finished chewing his bite of cheese.

"No, you won't," Jim said.

"But you said we could-" Rick started to say before he was interrupted.

"It's started to rain," Jim said calmly.

"Aw-" Junior started to say in disappointment.

"James," Johanna told him sternly.

Junior narrowed his eyes at his sisters who were giggling at that while they dried their hands, and he then said, "Then may we play croquet?"

"Yes," Jim said as his wife looked at him.

Watching them go, Kate turned to her mother while she braced herself to ask her if she and her twin could play with the boys. But before she could utter a word her mother, tying on her apron, was shaking her head and answering her unasked request.

"Boys," Johanna called. "Come back, we'll be needin' your help."

"Are we cooking Ma?" Junior asked as he came into the kitchen last behind his father and friend.

"You'll help us prepare so we can all play together after," Johanna replied.

"Great!" Junior said.

"Do you need us to peel potatoes?" Rick asked.

"I do, grab seven of them from the basket," Johanna told the boy with a smile before he was rushing to do so.

"When I went into the army I was incredibly good at that," Castle told his wife.

"We just had both of you doing that for us," Beckett told her husband with a smile.

"What're you doing?" Castle asked in slight surprise as his wife was moving.

"Do you mind?" Beckett replied when she was sitting on his lap.

"No," Castle said swiftly. He half expected her to call him a pervert, but when she merely leaned into him to kiss him, he was moving to return it rapidly. After they slowly parted, he told her, "It's too long to the seventeenth."

"Not that long," Beckett replied gently. "But I understand what you mean."

Leaning over to her, Castle was kissing her again gently before they stopped and he said, "Should I get back to the memory?"

"I think so," Beckett said, nodding her head with a smile.

Holding her a little closer to him, Castle kissed her cheek before he began by saying, "Your brother and I had been wanting to play croquet but when we got to the living room we decided it wasn't really going to work."

"Maybe you lads would prefer to wait to play in the park," Jim was telling his son and ward.

"What else could we play though?" Junior asked.

"Why not charades?" Kate suggested.

"I think it'll need to be somethin' we'll all want to do," Johanna told her daughter gently when the boys groaned.

"What else could we play?" Rose asked, sticking her tongue out at her brother when he did the same to her.

"Why not just play charades?" Jim asked. "We don't really have any other games for us all and it'll make the time pass."

"Fine, but we should play something else after dinner," Junior replied as Rick was looking at him.

"Will you write down what we need to act out Da?" Kate asked her father as he was leaving the room.

"Of course," Jim said with a nod.

While they were waiting, Kate went over to the window where Rick was standing and she sighed saying, "It didn't look like rain."

"No," Rick agreed as he was shaking his head. "But at least we can play."

Nodding, since she knew some other kids who went to their church could do little but read the Bible that day, Kate said, "And when we read it, we all take turns."

"That's the best part," Rick said with a nod. He then told her, "Since I would like to read."

"You don't want to play?" Kate asked in surprise.

"Oh no," Rick assured her hurriedly. "I want to play now but I want to finish my book."

"You'll have the chance before we have to go to bed," Kate said since her parents let them all read or write in their diaries for an hour before they needed to sleep.

"I know," Rick said. He turned from the rain to her and asked, "You'll read?"

Shaking her head Kate smiled at him and said, "I'll write."

"I thought so," Rick said before they were turning to her father who was walking back inside.

"You want me to read my entry?" Beckett asked her husband with a smile as he had stopped there.

"Yeah, though you do know what we did after right?" Castle asked. "Dinner, played croquet in the end since your brother and I were literally begging and then getting ready for bed since we had school the next day."

"I'll get my tablet," Beckett said in amusement, getting off his lap. When she had it and was back at the bed, she wasn't surprised when her husband was taking her hand. She was about to warn him not to do too much before he was squeezing her hand and speaking gently to her.

"I want to kiss you, Kate," Castle said seriously to his wife as he stared into her eyes.

Beckett's response was to get on the bed, dropping the tablet out of their way before she was getting on his lap again. Their arms swiftly wrapped around each other and they were kissing one another deeply. She felt a thrill go through her when their tongues met, and they tangled around each other for a while until they needed to breathe, and they parted before she smiled at her husband.

"Thank you," Castle said.

Laughing softly, Beckett told him, "You don't have to, I wanted it myself." She was laughing again when her husband embraced her tightly and she then said, "Do you still want me to read?"

"Yes," Castle replied firmly.

"Let me… get my tablet," Beckett said, trailing off before she ended with a smile as her husband was grabbing the tablet. She took it and went to where her diary entries were before she was opening the ones from October. "Ready?" she asked her husband. When he kissed her tenderly on the lips she smiled once they had parted and she said, "I'll take that as a yes." She was laughing as her husband was nodding eagerly before she pressed her lips to the side of his head and began reading.

October 19th, 1913
Beastly weather today Christie but at least it didn't start until after we were back home from Mass. The problem was we had all been so looking forward to going to the park and playing croquet. But at least Ma and Da let us play in the house though we had to work on dinner which we did together.

I'm so grateful; Rosie too; the boys don't try to skive off helping us though they only peeled potatoes for Ma's roast and washed and peeled carrots as well. When we had finished we were a little around and around on what we should play since Ma and Da talked about waiting until we were able to go back outside to play croquet, but Junior and Ricky didn't really want to play charades with us. But in the end, they agreed as long they could choose what to do after dinner.

Charades was so much fun; Ricky was able to act out very well for the team he was on with Da and Junior. But Ma, Rosie and I managed to win by guessing more of the words Da had written down. Sometimes I wonder if Da cheats and doesn't just let Junior or Ricky guess when he's supposed to be doing so. But I wouldn't ask, how else could we play charades if someone didn't write down what to act out?

Dinner itself was delicious, I wish I could have sat with Da and the boys while we cooked but at least Ricky and Junior set the table! I suppose I'm thinking more now of the saying that Ma has 'a man's work lasts sun to sun, but women's work is never done.' Why is that? I know Greta at school had talked to both me and Rosie about how she and her mother must work nearly into night washing clothes since she has seven more brothers and sisters. I'm just relieved Da and the boys help us, or we'd face the same since there are six of us in the house!

But I should return to what we did today, now it's after dinner and we did play croquet which is always fun. Though Junior and Rosie will continue to tease Ma about swinging their mallets harder than they ought to. Luckily Ricky isn't a brute and was very careful since Ma would be heartbroken if we destroyed anything with our playing. And we wouldn't be able to play either. But we played and Junior won which he was quite proud of though Da was quick to tell him not to boast.

Ricky was very quiet during the game, Ma kept looking over at him I noticed but I was the one who went over to him and spoke with him as we were waiting our turn when we were nearly finished. He was alright, but he admitted rain sometimes makes him sad since he would need to make himself silent in his mother's apartment. I don't know why but he just said he would hum songs in a chair in the front closet that they had since he could go there and not bother anyone. I was terrified he was locked in there, but he told me it was his choice and he only closed the door a bit. I could tell he didn't like the memories, so I quickly asked him about school tomorrow, and he seemed to be happier since the boys in his grade are going to start a stickball tournament. I was very pleased to see him so happy and I must remember not to mention his time before the earthquake.

Anyway, after our cocoa we were sent to our rooms to change and then relax for bed. I am writing to you Christie, but the others are reading I think, and I believe I will do the same. Goodnight!

"Okay," Beckett said.

"Okay?" Castle repeated as he looked at her in surprise.

"Sorry, I'm reading the next entry," Beckett replied, starting it before her husband could ask her to read it.

October 20th, 1913
Francesca Bowen is a stuck-up snob.

"I can see why you were surprised," Castle said.

"Let me go to the next one," Beckett said with a smile, turning back to her tablet.

7:15pm
So sorry about my short message to you Christie, but I was so frustrated I slammed you shut and got Ma's attention as she was walking by. I had to explain about hearing Francesca boasting and bragging about her Halloween costume. And then about her talking to Ricky, asking him if he'd dress as a knight for Halloween when she didn't mention she's going to be a princess. Luckily, he didn't fall for it and just shrugged though he
is going to be a knight.

But Ma spoke to me and she says she's not surprised I was upset but reminded me Ricky could take care of himself with girls like Francesca. It made me feel better, but that's all I want to say about school… Well, I suppose I should say I was able to watch with Rosie and our friends (not Francesca) the stickball tournament the boys were playing, and Ricky did a wonderful job.

Junior as well!

I must go to bed soon, but it's strange, Ma had the funniest look on her face as I was telling her about Francesca being the coquette to Ricky. I can't imagine why it would be amusing but at least she helped me.

I must end here Christie, Da is calling for us all to say goodnight so we may go to bed!

"Looks like your mom knew already," Castle said when his wife had finished reading.

"I think she did," Beckett replied absently.

Seeing she was running her fingertip over the short sentence about her brother, Castle gently squeezed her and asked, "Were you aware yet?"

"Not very," Beckett said. "Though I think as time went on, I saw other girls my age going through courtship and I figured out what I wanted." She turned her head then, lightly kissing her husband before she told him with a smile, "I love you Rick."

"I love you too Kate," Castle told her seriously. They were kissing again and fervently before he was nearly tearing himself away. "We have to… have to go to bed, sleep. Now," stumbling over his words as he was feeling the beginnings of his arousal and was breathless at the same time.

Beckett moved to get off him, since she hadn't been unaffected herself, and was leaning into him, kissing him gently on the lips. "Sweet dreams Rick," she said as she looked into his eyes.

Castle gazed at her a little longer before he leaned over, kissing her sensuously but very briefly before they were parting. "Kate, I adore you," he breathed as they were pressing their foreheads against each other's. "I can't wait for Adare."

"I feel the same Rick," Beckett said. "But we still have here, and White Mount," she had to remind them both. She watched him moving to lay down, murmuring those two places a few times and couldn't help smiling before she moved to him.

Castle was surprised when his wife kissed him deeply but didn't hesitate after the initial shock, holding her tightly to him before they stopped. "Still love you," he murmured.

"I love you Rick," Beckett said, smiling at his words.

"Sweet dreams love," Castle then told her, holding her against his side once she was laying down.

Doing their best to fall asleep after telling each other goodnight, Castle and Beckett tried not to think too much of their anniversary. They did their best to instead focus on the rest of the trip through Spain where they would spend time with their family and friends, eventually finding their repose for their journey to the capital the next day.
