Naofumi then walked over to the nightstand to pick up and tie their coin pouch to his this body's hip but as they did they noticed the remains of the bird's egg "I guess I should try to see what I can get from this" Naofumi spoke aloud while they picked up the many pieces of the egg that remains and feed it to their shield and as soon as they did 2 notifications appeared in front of them

After reading them they then focused on "Monster Maturation Adjustment (small)" to see what exactly it meant by that

"Gives a small boost to both EXP and Stats to any Monster in your party"

And once again after reading that Naofumi closed it 'interesting that will help with the bird though that cooking 2 will be pretty useless' Naofumi thought as they walked back over to the bed to pick up said bird

"Well let's go get ourselves some food huh, now that I think about it what do I feed you? Well I guess we will discuss that later" Naofumi said to the bird in their arms

"Kya!"

Naofumi then nodded and left their room and started to walk to the diner part of the Inn while he did so he once and awhile talked to the bird in their arm but as Naofumi entered the diner part of the inn he heard them the barrage of insults, mutters and such came forth but he tried to ignore them as he walked to a table but of course he couldn't ignore them

"Did the Shield beast have a filolial before?"

"No, I don't think so"

"It's from the egg it was caring idiots"

"It makes sense that a beast would befriend a beast"

"Oh my it's much cuter with that Filolial"

And of course the same insults flea this or that it made Naofumi wonder if they that disgusted by him why they would stay here then? Maybe they only come here just so they could insult him?

Darker thoughts soon were planted in his mind but before they could mature a noise came forth

"Pia!"

That noise quickly pulled Naofumi out of their dark thoughts looking down at where the noise came from they were meet with a surprising site the bird in his arms was rubbing its little head against Naofumi's chest Naofumi let out a little smile

"Thanks, I am fine now," Naofumi said. Soon Naofumi arrived at an empty table putting the bird on top of the table then Naofumi went over to the chair and then climb/jumped onto the chair then promptly waited. after a while, someone arrived to take Naofumi's order Naofumi simply ordered a cheap lunch set

"Sorry little one but I don't know what you eat or else I would buy it and I don't trust these people enough to tell the truth," Naofumi told the little bird that gave him a stink eye

"Kya!"

"Why am I ordering food then? It's because I know what I can eat" Naofumi stated with a small smirk

The bird just stared at them Naofumi's eyes

"They won't do anything to my food ether," Naofumi said ether to the bird or himself whichever one it was it most likely to try to convenience himself more than the bird

Soon silence took over the table but soon that ended as boredom overtook them

"I guess I should name you soon uhh I hate coming up with names you know that?"

….

"Yeah um hmm," Naofumi said out loud as they looked at bird unknowingly swinging their legs as they thought about it and before long a pout appeared on their face

"Urgh, those mea- those people called you a 'Filolial' earlier so maybe I should just go with Filo or something huh?" Naofumi asked out loud but then shook their head

'Isn't that a bit uncreative also I don't know its gender nor if it is a 'Filolial' so I should wait till then' Naofumi thought

Almost as if the universe was agreeing with Naofumi their food had arrived

When Noafumi finished he had only eaten a quarter of it 'waste of money' Naofumi thought 'but then again it was super cheap so whatever'

"Alright let's go," Noafumi said dropping a coin or two on the table then jumping off of the chair then picked up the bird or more actually now a Filolial and left the Inn and started their search for the Slave merchant

Surprisingly it was rather easy to find the merchant after a while of walking Naofumi spotted something which he couldn't mistake it was the Slave traders outfit running over to where he saw the outfit he found himself wandering through alleyways but they soon found themself into a large opening which was taken over by the large- no a humongous tent which housed the slave traders wares

Standing before it Naofumi called out

"H-Hey Belukas you here?"

"Why of course Lord Shield hero" Belukas spoke suddenly from Naofumi's left so suddenly that Naofumi nearly jumped

"Why I thought you wouldn't pay me when you didn't come here yesterday but thankfully It seems I didn't give away something for free it seems" Belukas stated with a wide smile

'Oh, yeah I nearly forgot about that' with that thought Naofumi pulled out 40 silver which made his coffers even emptier

"Here there's some extra as an apology now I need some info," Naofumi said handing the money to Belukas

"My, My how generous Lord Shield hero. What would you like to know?" Belukas once again said with a wide smile

"Everything possible about this" Naofumi said presenting the bird to the slave trader

"Ah understood" and with that Belukas told Naofumi some of the things he knew about Filolials and what he could tell from looking at the bird, like it's gender and the such

"Thank you I guess I should start leveling it up soon then… Oh! Yeah, do you know where any magic stores are?" Naofumi asked

"Hmm Yes I do" Belukas then told Naofumi about the location of the store and so with that Naofumi turned around and left
